I've just been checking and it seems no adverse reactions have been reported with the astrazeneca jab so no need to wait.
OH said the queues were moving quite quickly. I asked him how long it took altogether including going and coming home and he said the same time as mine did. He didn't have to wait after it of course so he must have queued the 15 minutes he didn't have to wait. With the queue splitting into 3 where they went in, it would move a lot quicker. He said the worst problem with the long queue was that people exiting the building had to cross the queue to get to their cars in the car park.
I think Frank said the rail people are coming on Thursday.
I'm off to bed now as I feel weary and have to be up early to paint some bluebell woods! It's supposed to be in a 'loose' style again, which doesn't seem to be my style at all!

Vera yes it is great that the donations are coming in and there are some lovely things said about him by all who donate. Isn’t it a shame that these things are only said after you due? My back is still sore but not unbearably painful, just the muscle is really stiff.
I have had to wait ten minutes after a flu jab but not every time.
Gill, of course Sandra is happy, she has got her way but, as you don’t know who she is with you don’t really know if she is safe. You really ought to find out. Are you still her legal guardians so responsible for her. I know it is difficult sadly you need to be the parent not her friend, all the stress and worry is what makes you ill. I hope you are right and that she is happy and safe. She needs to know that her social worker is responsible for her being safe and not somewhere, or with somebody whose lifestyle is maybe outside of the law. Somebody seems to have influence over her, something has caused her to change. Where is the young lady who loved pink, who loved n Making cards? She is there somewhere. Sorry if we seem to be nagging you. Be sure it is because we care for both you and Sandra and worry about you both.

We've had more snow over night at least another two inches and we still have showers this morning ,I can see a bit of blue sky at the moment and the sun's just come out so it's quite dazzling with the snow .
AnnG hope the ink lasts out so you can do all your printing today so annoying when it runs out just as you only have a little bit left to do .
Vera we had a thaw yesterday but we got topped up again with snow over night ,I expect the schools are still closed haven't heard from son yet .
Going to make a Lasagne for tonight haven't had one for a while and I might do a coffee sponge .

I don’t think we had much snow overnight but it’s coming down fairly heavily again at the moment and is laying on top of ice so roads and paths will be very slippery

Good morning to you all,
Home alone, Ros has just gone out with Carolyn to get odds and ends from Tesco. I don;t think they will be out long, as everywhere else is closed.
I was signed off by the falls Doctor yesterday, on leaving her office, Ros accidentally picked up her own as well as the Drs Glass's. We had to go back and return them. When er got home she had a call from the hospital to say they had found her door key on the floor.Simon is collecting it this morning. We have told him to keep it until we see him again, as we have spares.
Snow again last night, but all gone now. Still very cold, and the window cleaner came this morning. All outside windows nice and clean, all for £8.00 every EIGHT WEEKS.
Fish man tonight, so I am all set up. Ros will get something for herself while she is out this morning. So no cooking tonight. !!!
You will never believe what I was doing at 3.00 am this morning. Lying wide awake, arranging a HOLIDAY for Mark, Kerry and Alexander. Jo and Ella, Jan and Conrad, Ros and I. It was a big house close to the Sea and Countryside. Where on earth did that come from.
Ros is having to use her SPRAY, as she is getting pains in her upper chest and neck. I made her ring the Dr yesterday. If it persists, she has to ring either the Dr or 999 for an AMBULANCE. Will have to keep my eye on her.
Bright sunshine here now, so I am going to sit in the conservatory and read my book.
Have a safe day all, see you later. xxxx

I got a text off Michael telling me the boy she was with has been taken to prison and Sandra is now in a hotel, free of charge, off the council. I've tried ringing Sandra but there's no answer, so now I'm wondering what's been going on and why she's been lying to us. I'm hoping Sandra is just asleep and will ring me later when she realises she's had a missed call off me. If I don't hear from her by 2pm I'll ring her again. Apparently she's been living rough with this boy for the past few nights according to Michael and he told me they'd slept together so I hope she's not pregnant. It's all a worry. OH is working nights all this week so is in bed all day, so I'd like to find out the truth then he's not driving and working worried all the time. At least he's sleeping so won't be driving tired, which is good. I on the other hand haven't slept well for days. I haven't caught up with the posts, sorry, I just can't concentrate at the moment, so I hope everyone's okay. At least OH's Covid test from work have come back negative, so neither of us have the virus and the police can't fine us as that was a worry too. I hope this year isn't going to be as bad as last year.

Just seen the snow picture Mandy, that's a lot of snow. We've had a few flurries but is hasn't covered anything.
Fancy Ros picking up the doctors glasses Frank, at least she took them back so no harm done, I hope the doctor could see okay for her other patients. I hope Ros's pains ease soon, if not then ring an ambulance.
Be careful if you're going out today Vera with the snow on top of the ice. Sandra slipped on ice a few weeks ago and had a massive black bruise on her knee. We have sun at the moment but it's still very cold outside.
It sounds like you had an unsettled night like me last night Mel, I hope you have a better night tonight.
I've got a bit of a headache so I'm going to take a painkiller and have a break from the screen for a while.

Afternoon All,
I slept really well and it has been sunny all day up to now, although we did get a couple more inches of snow overnight.
The old soldier is alive and kicking as OH is clutching his arm, saying it's aching, also his legs are stiff after standing in the cold for his jab yesterday. He wasn't waiting very long, but forgot his hat, so he was so cold the thermometer wouldn't register his temperature on his head and they had to use his wrist instead!
Are you not keen on needles Island? OH goes in a cold sweat at the thought!
Frank don't delay the 999 if Ros gets any worse pains. Fancy her taking the docs glasses and then leaving her door key behind.......she is getting like the rest of us!
My laptop has arrived so I can get it set up before next week's classes which will be good as the old one was playing up again this morning. I've finished saving all the stuff I want from it now.
Class was more my thing today, a nice wooded landscape, but there is a lot to do yet to finish it.
Gill, my worst fears have happened with Sandra now then and I thought it wouldn't be long! Was contraception not sorted by anyone since she moved to Michelle's? When mum ran her small home she had a lady like Sandra who had a mental age of 11. When her parents both died, she became one of mum's residents. Her brother lived in the next county and dealt with her finances, but didn't take much interest. She had a little job in a hospital laundry in the city. Soon after, mum saw her with two men pawing at her in the street, trying to get their hands inside her underwear and found out they had been taking her back to their flat for threesomes, or more? She was so flattered by all the attention and was already talking of marriage, having a flat and a baby, although she couldn't care for herself. Contraceptive injections meant there was no risk of pregnancy. Mum told the brother, who didn't want to be involved, so she told him straight that no way would his parents want this to be happening to his vulnerable sister and that if he didn't inform SS she would! That soon got things sorted.
Sandra is not just an adult, she is vulnerable and I think her safety is more important than any temporary happiness. SS need to be involved as she shouldn't be sleeping rough or at risk of drugs, delivery of them, STD's, rape or worse. Sorry if I sound harsh, but I would hate for Sandra to come to any harm and SS could ask why you didn't tell them what was happening if things get worse.

Yes got all the orders of service printed and folded. Just did the 30th as the ink warning came up so we were very pleased, we then all went for a short walk and took five smallish carrier bags of clothes to the lady who collects for charities. Will take another load tomorrow then maybe leave it until I come back. Going up to the LD on Tuesday for two weeks.
Oh Gill, of course Sandra is going to get involved with men. But she should be protected against getting pregnant. and I do hope that any she goes with are not able to give her an STI. Before she went to Michelles she was quite an innocent, did Michelle encourage her to take an interest in men? I don't really know what the anser is except her social worker should be involved, although maybe SS are already involved if she has been placed in a hotel. I wonder if the hotel is a refuge?
No snow here, a few flurries that is all.
Car is being collected this evening.

I've just spoken to Sandra and she tried to lie to me again saying she was at her friends place, she was but only to ring me off their landline as her phone is broken again. I mentioned what Michael had said to me about her living rough and although she wasn't happy about him telling me she eventually told me the whole story and what Michael said was true.
Michael has had permission off the police to travel from Leeds to Sandra to help her, he's going to sort out a new phone and she'll keep her number, he's going to try and get her a flat and he's taking her for some warm food as she's only been living on sandwiches.
I asked her why she'd lied to us and she said because she didn't want to split up with this fella she's with. He's been arrested and is now in prison, so hopefully we can all sort Sandra out properly. All she seems bothered about at the moment is the fella, not about herself.
Michael said he wants to get her a flat as there are undesirable at the hotel and he doesn't want her to hook up with one of them, but even if she does have a flat she'll only invite them back to her's. I don't think Michael has thought that far yet.
At least he's helping and told me everything that was going on as he was the only one Sandra opened up to.
I feel really foolish now believing everything she told me, but relieved something's being done for her and she's no longer living on the streets. OH and I wanted to go and see her but thought we'd wait incase she felt we were all ganging up on her, the last thing we want is for her to run off again, so we thought it best to let Michael help her first as she's okay with that. He's going to ring me later to let me know what's going on.
As for Sandra sleeping with this fella, I asked her and she said "no" I'm inclined not to believe her so I let it go as she is already very upset at being separated from this fella and has enough to think about right now. I just hope she hasn't caught anything or is pregnant.
Thanks Ann for telling me your story, the poor girl at least she had someone looking out for her. Social services, as far as I'm aware, are involved now but I'll ask Michael later just to check and if they're not I'll ring them myself.
I feel stupid for believing Sandra's story and wish I'd done something earlier. I won't be making that mistake again and will be keeping a close eye on her in future. I wish I could bring her back here but without her consent I can't. I'd be breaking the law if I forced her. It's so difficult to know what to do.
I've got a banging headache and the painkillers aren't doing anything. I'm going to make a drink and try to relax until Michael rings me. The council offices are closed at 5pm so I'm hoping to hear from him in just over an hour.

Gill, Sandra is a female who has learned that it is good to have a male paying her attention which is why that is all she is interested in. He has obviously woken something in her. I hope Michael can get things sorted for her and full marks to him for stepping up to the situation. Sandra obviously doesn't want to come home and she is opening up to Michael because she thinks he is less of a threat to her freedom. No Need to feel stupid, our first instinct as Mum is to believe what our children say (partly because that is what we want to believe.. Just keep an eye on her from a distance, I doubt you will ever make her come home, it has to be when she decides it is the best thing to do and she is enjoying her freedom too much. I Know she has a young mental age but does she have any idea of the 'facts of life'
Just had a beautiful bouquet from a friend in U3A All pink and white which is strange as the flowers I chose for Tony are a small pink and white spray. (the colour of my wedding bouquet.

I really don't know what to say Gill. Sadly, this is the sort of thing many of us feared would happen. Don't feel stupid. As AnnG said, as mothers it's our instinct to believe our children. Michael does seem to be acting like a brother to Sandra and well done to him for trying to help her, though I am not sure that being alone in a flat is right for her at the moment, even if he could find one at short notice. It seems as though the ideal would be an assisted living place in something like a shared house or flat where she could meet and mix with other young people but there would be someone to keep an eye on her.
Try not to go down the "What if..?" route. Worrying about what you could have done differently won't help anyone. What has happened, has happened and the most important thing is to look to the future and work with Sandra herself and social services to sort out the best solution for her.
I am keeping everything crossed that a good outcome can be reached.

I am so sorry to hear what Sandra has been doing and I think the most important thing is to get in touch with SS and her social worker. You must know who that is surely. Something needs to be done and quickly before she does another flit to somewhere else. She needs to have a restraining order slapped on her. The naughty girl. This is'nt showing SS that she can live on her own and will put back them finding a place for her.
Do you know how long this bloke is going to be in prison for? and what he did? Is this the one who spent money on her card? She needs to be seen by the police to frighten her into her senses.
How long has she known this bloke? and where did she meet him?
