I can just imagine your salad tonight all bright pink. I did that to with some coleslaw made with a red cabbage. That tasted ok too so I hope you enjoyed your girly salad and it was made for you which is always nice.
Gosh did I laugh at G in his new jimjams with the cheesewire affect. I bet that gave him a surprise!!!!!! :-D :-D :-D So do you think you're going to like this class then Ann? I did like the cornish pumphouse and the fairy castle with the mushrooms but they did'nt show as much of that one as they did the others. The lighthouse was good and very professional looking and I'm glad she won potter of the week.
So nice to see Island pop in. giving you a wave ~~~~~~~
We are ok Elizabeth just some of us a bit sad at the moment with very good reason. Sending you blessings.
Won't T be delighted with his oranges when he gets them. What a lovely thought from your daughter. Did he say if they found his teeth??????? bless him.
Its just started pouring with rain here so another very wet night.

Good morning all a bit dull and looks like rain clouds although I thought the forecast was for dry this morning. I was hoping to get out in the garden and cut off a couple of long rambler branches I can see from upstairs. Have to see.
I missed you there Ann with your long post too. Pleased that the zoom class eventually got under way Are you now more able to draw the crocuses? Ouch I can just imagine how quickly G dropped the trousers, could have been nasty, not to say uncomfortable. I think T is lying down a lot of the time he phones, I have told him I can hear him more clearly if he is sitting up. The last time our window cleaner came I refused him and he has not been round since, he did have a mask on though. The oranges won't get there until tomorrow I am just hoping there is not a problem getting them into the hospital. T has always steam cleaned the kitchen floor, I have no idea how to use the machine so am going to have to look for the book as it could do with doing. The last time I cleaned it with a squeegy mop so might do that again, after all we never used to have steam mops did we?
Mel No He never did find his teeth and seems to be managing ok without, as much as he eats anyway.

Morning Anng andn all,
Dull and sreary here this morning and it rained like hell in the night and the wind was blowing a hooley too.
Had a bad night and was still awake when oh got up at 4.30am amd lay awake a long while past that. He woke me at 9.30am as its wipe down day. Lots and lots of subs this morning so the loo rolls are going back and the wine. Will see what the profiterolls are like as I ordered the small eclairs that are frozen. Other things should be ok.
So dark this morning that I need the light on in the kitchen.
I wonder where those teeth went it must be hard to eat without them as I know if I take my bottom set out its really hard to manage most things unless they are very soft.
Just washed the bedding but it won't be going out.

He chooses soft options Mel and hardly eats anything anyway, prefers things like yogurt, mashed potato etc. Not sure what he gets in hospital.
Rained in the night here but partly sunny and very windy here now and 10 degrees. Just been out wielding the lopper to get the high ramber branches down, looks a lot better now.

Oh dear Ann I did laugh poor OH ,I can just see him pulling the jimjams up and the look on his face must have been a picture ,on a serious note though it could have really cut into him as cotton is really tough . How is his ear now is it getting better .
Island nice to see you popping in ,how's the doggie .
Frank how you doing do you feel any better .
My poor arms today I know I barrowed that wood yesterday :-0
I'm crocheting the girls some fingerless gloves ,they are just straight with just a hole for the thumb ,no pattern i just made it up so hope they fit ,I've done the waffle pattern to match the earwarmers.

Nice to see Frank pop in.
Mandy I must send you that pattern for the gloves I had in my magazine as they were really pretty. You knew your arms were gong to ache today. I hope they are better soon after all that lugging of the logs.
I am wiping down still. I only have half the spring greens I should have as there should be 500grms and theres only one in the bag and it weighs 225grms. I sent back toilet rolls and a bottle of wine and no refund yet.

It's been a very grey day with rain on and off all day, and it's windy as well. It's not really cold which pleases me as I don't "do" cold. Come to think of it I don't do hot either. If it's not just pleasantly warm I'm not a happy bunny.
I went for a walk today to get a bit of air and exercise. I decided on a circular route and moved along at quite a pace but almost exactly half way round I decided I had been a bit ambitious. As it was as far back as forward I carried on but I was really dragging my feet by the time I got home. I think next time I will have to either do a shorter distance or go at a slower pace.
Nice to see you popping in Frank.
Ann, I know I shouldn't laugh but I could just picture your OH with his jim jams. That could have been a very painful moment. Our window cleaners are still coming but they have these high hoses that they operate from the ground. They ring the doorbell to check it's OK to start. In normal times I open the door and have a chat but now I just give them the thumbs up at the window. Then they open the side gate and pull their hose thingies round. I pay by online banking so there's no handling of cash and the only things I have to wipe are the latch on the side gate and the doorbell. They don't touch anything else.
I'm glad you didn't give much away about Finding Alice, Mandy, as I have recorded it but haven't been in the mood to watch it yet. I hope your aches and pains are easing off a bit now.
How's your Mum, Gill? Do you think she will be a bit more careful now? My neighbours still worry the life out of me. The man has been back in hospital for a week now and the wife is unwell and has been back and forth for emergency treatment for a chest infection, a water problem and possible blood clots. She did tell me they had both had Covid tests which were negative but she still has people in and out of the house all the time. The ironing lady is always there, without distancing and without masks. I think she has become a bit of a friend-cum-chauffeur. (I really don't peer out of the window all the time, lol, but the houses are positioned in such a way that her front door and cars parked outside her house are clearly visible from our lounge and our bedroom). I do try and be a good neighbour but I do it by phone. I have offered to collect meds or shopping for her, and have made sure that she has both my landline and mobile number and told her she can ring day or night if she needs anything.
I have been a bit down today. OH, bless him, is trying to help and support me by taking everything off my hands. At the moment he is steam cleaning the floors. This morning I mentioned that I might do a couple of small garden jobs and before I turned round he had done them for me. I am grateful to him but I really need to keep busy at the moment. I don't want a lot of spare time to sit and think. I shouldn't moan should I. There are a lot of women with useless, or worse abusive, husbands who would be very glad of one like mine.
I've written more than enough. As soon as the floors are dry, which doesn't take long in winter because of the underfloor heating, I'll go and make us both a cuppa.

Trying to run before you can walk Vera. As you said probably best to do a fast shorter walk and build up the length. I find that not walking as much now when .i do walk buts of me, feet, ankles even toes, ache that never did before.
I think you would be wise to save Finding Alice for a bit before watching it. I found a bit of it quite upsetting/disturbing and I think it might affect you the same. That is why I gave up watching but I have recorded it so may go back to it again as there are some good actors in it.
Poor OH he is trying so hard. Maybe tomorrow you need to tell him you want to keep busy.

Vera like AnnG said i would leave Finding Alice for a little while ,not one to watch really when you have just lost a dear one . Sounds as if you need to find a shorter route Vera ,do you use one of those waking poles ,hope you haven't done to much today and made your foot sore .
Mel i have replied to your message ,thank you .
I had a word with son today and he said that both he and DIL now have to have two home covid tests a week ,DIL brought hers home from her work and he's waiting for his tests to come . DIL's mother works in a care home ,she said all the residents had their jabs but there wasn't enough for all the staff ,there was four jabs left after the residents had theirs so they had to give the last four to the staff most in need .
The rain started again this afternoon and the wind has really got up now .

I think we have solved the problem of why T stopped being able to eat. Lung cancer causes a difficulty in swallowing as a side effect and also a loss of appetite.

Evening All,
I wrote a post that sailed off into the ether this morning! It was sunny and dry first thing after a good sleep, but went dull and rainy after lunch.
Mandy what a good idea to do some fingerless gloves in the same pattern. They will be nice. I bet your arms will ache for a couple of days after the barrowing. It's good son and DIL are getting regular tests now. They are probably an inch longer now! You asked about OH. They still can't see his eardrum, but the swab results have confirmed it is fungal. They have issued another prescription for eardrops and the chemist say they should have them in by lunchtime tomorrow. We left collecting our other meds today and will collect it all tomorrow after checking again that they have them. All done in one trip then.
No AnnG, I still can't draw crocuses! I did my homework today and did a tiny picture with 6 on about 3 and a half inches square. The teacher said to paint 2 or 3 and I wish I had as I don't like 3 I have done. Still, only practice as she said and I did practice moving the paint around and other techniques. We are doing the landscape course in the morning so I thought it best to get it done. I only got a steam mop about a year ago, but it is easy to use. Just fill the tank and switch on and wait for it to heat up. When it gets noisy, it needs a refill. I am quite liking the look of those that hoover as well as wash. Before then, I did mine on my hands and knees as I found the others hard to squeeze out. I hope T gets his surprise oranges soon!
Dear me Vera, it sounds like running before you can walk! (not literally) You will have to do shorter stints as you say. Your poor foot hasn't had any hard work for quite a while. I'm still tempted by the exercise bike, but the last 2 tries have put me out of action for weeks. I could reduce my pathetic effort even lower I expect. It is the only exercise I can do that will get me a little breathless and do me good. :-S Your chap is good with all he does around the house and garden. You'll have to keep schtum about what you plan to do so you can keep busy! ;-) As for not listening, or selective hearing, I think most are the same. It seems it is a common 'manfliction'
Mel, you seem to be getting more Asda subs as well now. I hope you get your refunds this time. Sorry you had a bad night, just when you want to be fresh for the wipe down too. I hope you sleep better tonight.
I'm off to bed how as I need to be up and showered and set my painting gear out by 9.00am. Nightie night. zzzzz.

Thank you Vera, I was very in need of a hug this evening. Sometimes it is just hard to stop thinking about ‘when’ and ‘after’. And thinking back, wondering how long this has been waiting to strike. At least I have no regrets as to how we were together. We were always close and always loving in our time together, oh of course we didn’t always agree but we never rowed.
Daughter has heard that DPD will be delivering the oranges tomorrow. So fingers crossed.
Ann do you mean you had to draw the crocus and paint them, it is quite an intensive course isn’t it? Hope the landscape goes well. Is it every day this week?
I shall have to be brave and tackle the steamer soon.

Good morning all from a very wet and very windy Gloucestershire. In contrast to Mel I had a really bad night, would doze off and wake an hour later then just lay there. Just couldn't get back to sleep so I am feeling very weary this morning, good job I have nothing planned.
