Thanks for all the good wishes everyone, I will be glad when it is over although I then have the stitches to contend with and we won’t mention the six weeks of using the cream on my back. Oh the joys of these inconvenienced. But I will get through them
Jane hope all goes well with the scan tomorrow and Vera hope the dentist is kind to you.
Annx I still think you are lucky with your window cleaner. Ours cleans seven windows And doesn’t do the conservatory and it costs £14:60 every four eeeks.

AnnG how long is four eeeks? Sorry could'nt resist.........
Shall be thinking of our Jane tomorrow so good luck with the results of your scan and I hope it is better than the last one and you have much improvement.
AnnG too with the op. Hope it all goes smoothly and dos'nt take too long.
Vera I hope you can get some relief from this terrible back pain. I know just how you must feel as I put my back out when I was 21 with a year old baby to look after. I suffered for years with it and lived on pain killers for years too. I did it unplugging the hoover without bending my knees. It still plays me up sometimes and I am not very good at bending over anymore.
O O O snow we only seem to be getting hail showers and they are quite frequent.
I did a really awful thing today and I feel so guilty. Wehn I let the big girls out this morning I close the pop hole so the wind dos'nt blow all the sawdust at me when I get the two eggs out the girls lay in a covered box inside the house. I then go and see what in the nest boxes. Well today I did'nt open the pop hole and when I went to shut them in tonight I wondered why they were all still out and Mona was really moaning a lot. They had been out all day in all the hail showers and wind we have had with no other shelter in the run. Oh said he had looked out the window at the run but they must have all been huddled in the corner trying to get into shelter. I do feel so very bad, poor things. they were all so wet. I bet I don't get any eggs tomorrow.

Morning all,
We have brightness and sunshine blue sky with big white clouds and then grey sky and hail showers. I have never known weather like it in all my life. O and the winds up too to crown it off.
Thinking of Jane and AnnG today. I do hope Jane's results are good ones and Ann's op is ok.
Is it today Vera has the dentist? Hope he can do something with your broken tooth. How's the back this morning?

Morning Mel, morning all,
When I looked out in the night it looked like sleet I could just make out flakes of snow in with the rain, this morning it's bright and sunny one minute then clouded over the next and the wind is biting I only opened the door for Max to go out and that was enough .
Oh Mel your poor girls yesterday i bet they wondered why you hadn't left the pop hole open for them ,easily done though when your doing other things ,hope you still get some eggs .
Yes hope all goes well today for Jane and AnnG will be thinking of them <3

Mandy and Vera at the dentist.
I hav'nt been out yet I usually leave the big girls nin till 12 then they lay eggs before getting muddy feet. They are drier in the house than out in the run as it has puddles all over it and not a bit of green grass at the mo. I just wish it would stop raining as chickens don't lay well with wet feet.

Oh yes and Vera too ,I do hope her back is a bit easier today ,it won't be very comfortable having to lay back on the dentists chair when you have back pain.
Your girls might not want to come out today Mel incase they can't get back in .

well I am back. op took half an hour. The only painful bit is having all the injections around the site of the op. it is starting to come round now so I can feel it. have to rest it so I am typing with one hand, Had five stitches which should come out in two weeks time. so made an appointment for that for 11th March.
Worst thing is she picked up a BCC on my face as well but that has to be done at the hospital. so will now be waiting for an appointment for that
Hope Jane has got on OK with the scan and Vera at the dentist.
We had some sad news last night, heard from one of our ex RN group. (from being Artificer apprentices together joining in 1955 there were a group of 7 men plus wives and second wives who stayed in touch and until about 10 years ago met up regularly once a year. We still met up with one or two though and always kept in touch. Since 1996 we have lost one of the men and 3 of the wives. One of the men re-married so there were still 11 of the group remaining and 8 of us met up last year in Tewkesbury.) Last night we heard one of the men died in January. He was widowed a couple of years ago and we didn't see him last year. so we are now a group of 10. Sad that as we get older we are bound to lose friends like these. All the men and two of the women are in their 80s (with me heading that way this year.
I suppose though we should be grateful that we all but a couple lasted a long time as a group.
ooops Mel that was finger trouble :-D :-D (eeeek).
Naughty Mummy shutting poor chooks out in the wet. Hope they don't suffer any ill effects. <3

good afternoon to you all,
What a morning I have had. I have spent most of the morning trying to Cancel a direct Debit. Finally got it done two minutes ago.
You naughty MUM Mel, poor girls, you were lucky to get 4 eggs.
I am so sorry I haven't been reading the posts, but with things going on at the moment, I don't seem to have a lot of free time.
Ros is taking me for an overdue haircut this afternoon, then to Tesco, and on to our boozer for a bite to eat. I am disgusted to see in the local paper that the pub, has been given the score of ONE for the Cleanness, and food Hygiene . We have been eating there for a very long time, and I can honestly say, We have never had room to complain about anything. In fact we praise the service and food on TRIP ADVISOR.

Not sure what time Mel, but she said yesterday that she would be on here today later.
Frank hasn't that place had a bad rating before. The ratings are mostly done in the kitchen so maybe they hadn't cleared up a lot of clutter. It is very low though I hope it wasn't given for the possibility of cross contamination. Have you ever looked into their kitchen?

Afternoon All Here I am back from the scan . It was at 1pm .the echocardiogram one. I think it all was fine :-D.. It is the CT scan I had last week which is the one I am most concerned about . Now I am just dashing off to the hairdressers.
Glad it went well this morning Ann.It is bound to be a bit painful once the local anaesthetic wears off.Just keep topped up with some paracetamol . Sorry you have to now have the one on your face done too :-( You did say I think that you thought you had the start of one. Better to be rid of it as soon as you can. So the cream on your back is the next thing. What side effects will that have?
My Sister messaged just now to say my Niece has the flood gate up again and has had to move her car as the water is rising yet again. More nightmares :-S :-S
Must go now as it will take me 20 mins ot get to the salon in Geddington . BBL
Hope your chickens are not ignoring you Mel after leving them out in the cold and wet :-D :-D

Hi Jane something else out of the way for you. How long before your scan results.
side effects as usual are if/maybe and possibly not Lol but include the following More common
Blisters on the skin body aches or pain chills cough difficulty with breathing ear congestion itching in the genital or other skin areas loss of voice open sores or scabs on the skin pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones redness of the skin (severe) scaling shortness of breath or troubled breathing skin rash sneezing sore throat stuffy or runny nose tightness of the chest or wheezing unusual tiredness or weakness
Less common
Abdominal or stomach pain ankle, knee, or great toe joint pain bladder pain bloody or cloudy urine blurred vision chest pain cold flu-like symptoms
there are more but it is used for other than BCC. I have used it twice before and remember feeling a bit 'off' a bit fluey and achey.
Yes they have issued further flood warnings for Tewkesbury. So sorry for your niece, it must be very upsetting.
Yes I did suspect the spot thing on my face and was surprised she didn't pick it up before. Yes wise to get it done before it makes a larger scar. Waiting list for appointments is quite long I think so goodness knows when I will get an appointment.

Its horrid having to wait for appointments as you never know when they are going to come.
Jane enjoy your head massage I know you will and you will come out feeling much better.
F & C's for us tonight so no cooking which is great but it is me who has to go and get them and stand waiting in the cold. The winds dropped so that a bonus. I am going to have words about the two old pound coins I was given lasr week. Thats the only place apart from the shop that I pay cash for anything and the shop comes after the fish van and I had two tenners last week. After finding a load of old pound coins in a box the other week I put those away ready to take to the post van when I get up early enough to get there before its off to somewhere else.

Good evening everyone
Oh Mel, what are you like? I bet you’re not popular with your poor coopies after they had a day in the cold and wet. Still, it looks as though they’ve forgiven you if they are still laying. Like you I first put my back out when I had young children. There’s only 17 months between my two and trying to carry a small baby in one arm while balancing a toddler on the other hip did me no good at all. I’ve had trouble on and off since but I usually get over it in 2 or 3 days.
I hope your arm isn’t too sore AnninG. It’s a shame you need a BCC removed from your face but best to get it done as soon as possible, so I hope you don’t have to wait long for an appointment. That is quite a list of possible side effects for your cream. Fingers crossed that you remain free from any effects. Your window cleaner does sound a bit expensive. Ours don’t use ladders but have those long tubes and hose thingamajigs and they don’t wipe the windows dry as there is something in the water they use that dries smear free and is dirt resistant. They come every 6 weeks and charge £20 but for that they clean everything I.e. 6 windows upstairs, 7 or 8 downstairs, full size glass patio doors and all the conservatory. I’m sorry to hear about your friend. It’s always sad when we lose someone we have known for a long while.
When do you get the results of your CT scan Jane? It’s the waiting that’s so horrible isn’t it. I hope when you get the results they are everything you would wish for. I was looking at the flood waters on TV earlier. Your poor niece; she must be so worried.
Did I see that you had a dentist’s appointment today Mandy? If so, I hope everything was OK. We do have a couple of osteopaths locally but I am a bit wary as I know a couple of people who have had bad experiences with osteopaths. I expect I am being stupid. You seem to be happy with the treatment you had. I’ll bear it in mind.
It’s good you enjoy the food and service at your local Frank but I would be a little concerned at that hygiene rating. That really is very low. I would want to know why Environmental Health gave them such a low rating.
I hope Gill’s OH is enjoying his first week in the new job. I expect he is tired when he gets home after a long shift. Perhaps we’ll hear from Gill soon.
Today has been sunny and mostly dry but, oh boy, it was cold out. My back seemed quite a lot better this morning but after walking around in the cold and then trying to stand to iron a few bits this afternoon I am back in bed trying to ignore the pain and rest. Now OH has such a stiff neck that he can barely move his head. He thinks he may have had an air vent in the car blowing direct on his neck. We’re a right pair, talk about the lame helping the lame. Good news from the dentist though. The check up was all good. No work needed and she only had to do a little bit of cleaning. She also said she can do a repair on my tooth to keep it going as long as possible.. That tooth has been so heavily filled that there was not much tooth left but it is mostly filling that broke away so she can build up the edge of the tooth and put in a new filling. I’m having it done in about 3 weeks time.
I can hear OH moving around in the kitchen so I think he is starting to get our dinner ready. I’d better go and see if my poor stiff necked man needs any help.

Evening All,
A cold wind here today, but it was dry till we went out and then we drove through a hailstorm. I slept well again last night but I still don't get off to sleep till after 1.00am. Oh Vera you poor thing with your bad back. It sounds like you may have to see the doc if it's no better. I hope you managed to get some sleep last night and I see you managed at the dentist's ok. Ours has a steep flight of stairs to the waiting room . As Mandy said those chairs they have aren't the easiest when your back hurts. Good news your broken tooth can be saved.
That's another appointment done then Jane. I expect it won't be long before you get the CT scan results now that will show how the treatment is doing. I'm keeping everything crossed for you. xx A chilly day for a haircut so I hope you had a scarf for your neck when you came out. What a worry for your niece.
Oh Mel those poor chucks, I bet they were huddled together like penguins last night. It's good you got 4 eggs though.
Glad you are done and home again AnnG. I had a little lump taken off my arm after an insect bite years ago and remember watching the many stinging injections around the site. That's quite a few stitches you had and what a list of side effects to watch out for with the cream. It's good they noticed the one on your face and will do it while it's small and will be a smaller scar. Why is it that one can't also be done by the doc if you don't mind me asking? I wonder if it will be done before your hols?
Yes Mandy that little one had a very infectious laugh didn't he! Have you attempted anything from the crochet book you bought recently?
Frank we won't go anywhere with a rating less than 5 and I always try to see into the kitchen when they open the door. Maybe it's only a recent thing that the standard has lowered? We had a newly built place have to close for months when they had trouble with the drains, yet we had always found the food to be fine. I hope Gill's OH's first day went well.
Off to watch telly now.

Vera our window cleaner uses the same method as yours. I assume he charges the going rate for round here. Must remember he is due next week.
Arm is very sore but I did get dinner cooked for me. Sausages, mash (cheated and had the ready mash from Tesco), beans, mushrooms, onion and egg. It says on instructions to take paracetamol if it is painful but I try not to take pain killers so grin and bear it.
Good that you didn’t need any work done other than your broken tooth. And sorry your OH has a stiff neck, that is a horrible pain.
Ann GPS I think are not qualified to work on the face, it has to be a hospital qualified doctor, might even be a surgeon not sure. Doc said it will be a skilled job as they try to minimise scarring. Bet they have a problem with me as my scars go keloid.
Glad you slept well last night.I can imagine it is going to be awkward sleeping tonight without hurting my arm

Morning Mandy and all,
I saw on the weather forcast that you may have now today Mandy so they could have been right then. We have sun st the moment and the winds not quite as strong. How long it will last before it starts to rain again I don't know but it is predicted. It rained a lot last nightfore I went to bed.
Hope all slept well that inclues Ann, Vera, Anng and Frank. I thought I was going to have trouble dropping off last night as I kept thinking of things but then told myself to think black and I must have dropped off.
I must finish off some of my clay work as I still have to varnish them yet.
