It looks like I am not going to be forgiven for getting my T's and B's mixed up and that post I did about going to the shop I wrote and forgot to post it!
Been playing with my clay today but only got one thing finished with all the stops for feeding the chickens and shutting them all in for the night and then getting dinner. We had sausages (chipolatas) brocc, asparagus, mash and onions with them. It was nice. Oh seems to have gone right off of tenderstream brocc as he left his.
Gill that was good oh comeing home 2 hours earlier than expected and tell him rom me Good Luck for tomorrow.
Vera it sounds like you have had a nice day even if you did'nt go out. He has spoilt you today and lovely pressies too.
Ann you had a good sleep last night so I hope its the same tonight.
Weather dos'nt look very good for this week again but they do say Friday may be better.
Gill the place at Southend was called Never Never Land and it closed in 1972 but the fairy castle is still there. I remember seeing flower light in all colours and the fairy castle was at the very end. I always wanted dad to make one in our garden as we had a big rockery at the end of the garden and he did have a go at putting a waterfall across it but it lost a lot of water. He only made it in cement and never sealed it.

Morning all,
We have sunshine inbetween hail showers. First its bright then it gats all grey and then it gets bright again. Really funny weather. The clouds in the sky are moving fast too so there must be some wind out there. I hav'nt ventured out yet.
So what are you all doing today? You'll know where I'll be, Bideford shopping. Going to try and get out a bit earlier so I can get home quicker. It all depends on whether Di turns up for a chat. That always puts me behind but not seeing her that often I don't like to say I'm off out now so we sit and natter and oh joins us so we can't talk about what we want to talk about cos he takes over the conversation. Still I suppose she is about the only othr person he sees apart from me living down here and him not going out,.

Good morning. Had a good nights sleep as did OH, we found the mattress really comfortable. It still has a slight 'new' smell but otherwise is great. Sunny at the moment. I will answer the posts later. Off to the dreaded dentist in a minute. BBL.

GOOD MORNING to you all,
Nice bright sunny morning here, Slept well again, so did Ros we woke about 8.00 sm
Ros had two appointments for the hospital both at 8.30 am on the two. She has changed them both to 11.50 am. You can't get anywhere around Northampton at 8.00 with everyone going to work
My W.H lost 3-2 last night, nut the report says they were unlucky . I am hoping they don't go down this year. They are in the bottom three.
Ros has changed the BED so the sheets snd pillow cases will have a good blow in this breeze. She's then going to start tidying the front garden. The miniature DAFFS are looking great all around the borders.
As usual I will be doing nothing, other than showering and shave. We have a lot of lamb over from last night, so will use that up for tonights meal.
I hope you all have a good day, whatever you are doing. xxxx

Morning All,
It's sunny here and I'm wondering whether to get my car washed while I'm out but will be cross if it rains just after it's all sparkling. Slept like a log again so have a bit more energy today! I see you slept well too Frank so I wonder if your meds are helping. I could just fancy a shepherd's pie with your lamb!
OH wasn't up early like he planned and had to 'scramble' when the window cleaner decided to make an appearance . He then knocked his glass of water over and it soaked 2 of his thick historic hardback volumes and turned the air blue! I reminded him with the trouble he's had with his eyes he's lucky he is able to read them let alone fuss about a bit of water crinkling the cover sheets and that seemed to calm him down. He's now on his way to the council offices at Oakham.
I have now changed the bed and towels and the washer is ready to press the button when I'm back from my errands.
Mel, my OH could be the same. It can spoil a meaningful one to one chat with a friend. Men stick mostly to work, sport, politics, cars and their hobbies with their own friends. We women share our feelings or concerns about things that are of little interest to men, who can see it as not macho and showing weakness. OH isn't the macho sort by any means but I've noticed he will change the subject sometimes back to something trivial and I doubt he even realises he does it. He is a right chatterbox, but will now make himself scarce after a short while. He does see lots of other people to chat to with his work and footie, which your OH doesn't though, so it's a bit different for him.
I hope your dentist appointment whizzes by AnnG and that it's not too uncomfortable.
Better get going now, lots to do when I get back and I want to do more of my applique later. :-)
Oh I forgot to say what a thoughtful vet Vera!

Back from the dentist and left side is completely numb so no coffee for me :-( :-(
Gill I suppose it is better to be fussy about changing his clothes than being 'smelly' :-D :-D Like Vera I wonder why people go to the bother of applying for jobs then don't turn up for the induction. I suppose they could be ill but maybe it is something about having to apply for jobs to get benefit I don't know the procedure these days.
I hope your OH has a good day at work and that he enjoys it and the feeling of earning some money. I expect he will be tired though as learning a new job is always a strain. It is always good to have a dream. But building your own house is really hard if you have to source all the skilled workers when you can't do things yourselves. Better to have a dream of an affordable house/bungalow in a pleasant area, maybe by the sea but not anywhere near a river. lessons learnt from recent events. Have you got a radio that you could have on when you go to bed to keep you company. I am sure you will be OK once you get used to it. I actually used to enjoy being able to read as long as I wanted and to be able to spread out over the bed.
Vera, yes we both had a good sleep and OH didn't keep turning over so must have been comfortable. The topper we had on our old mattress was quite soft so we sank into it, comfortable at first but not after a while as no support and very hot too. The new mattress is firm but with a sort of soft feel to it. it is memory foam 1500 pockets!
I hope your back is continuing to improve and that you are feeling more like eating. Was it a bug do you think? Have you got an appointment for your tooth?
Gosh I am impressed by your travel insurance, our insurers won't insure us annually any more. We are not worried as we are only intending one overseas holiday, so fed up with aiports these days.
What a nice vet to do that for your friend. I do seem to remember a letter of condolence when we had one of our dogs put to sleep. doesn't happen very often though.
Hope you enjoyed your birthday wine. He might be B but he is not a real 'B' is he bless him? And did you have control of the TV?
Annx yes I was thinking something similar yesterday as I was on the end of a huge double mattress (although about 15 years old our mattress we were changing was a deep and good heavy one) and OH says. 'Just lift it round a bit that's right followed by a few more directions. This is a four foot six mattress and I am five foot two. Mind you I do wonder how long he will have the strength to do things being as he is 81. Oh yes 'we' do lots in the garden and always have. these days it is true but he has always used the royal 'we' even when I did it all when he was waway in the states for 2-3 weeks at a time.
A bit close for comfort that shooting Ann.
Just picked up your latest post Ann. Did you get your car washed? You are buzzing with energy this morning a good nights sleep works wonders. Poor OH it is horrible when you spill things on books (especially when you can't blame anyone else for it). Hope they soon dry out. Yes my OH (who never used to have much to say to people he didn't know well) can talk for England. when we are in a group, because of my hearing problems I am always reticent in case I talk over somebody, so when he goes on and on, sometimes repeating himself and sometimes not knowing when to stop, I often grab hold of his arm and say 'can I speak now please?'. He always grins and knows he has been rabbiting but, as I have said before, other ladies (and the occasional man, always listen to him avidly.
Lol Mel, you are forgiven for being as bad as the rest of us. Dinner sounded nice was it asparagus and tender stem broccolli? I often do the two together. I find my OH prefers the tender stem with not much stem (if you know what I mean. Did you get to Bideford earlier than usual as you wanted Mel? Are you all shopped out now?
Frank I hate early appointments because we are not particulary early risers. My appointment tomorrow is 0940 and that is early enough. I suppose one thing is I don't have to sit around anticipating going!
Jane did you get your retail therapy in yesterday? did you buy anything nice?
Well that is some of the posts caught up with. Mteeth are not numb now, or rather the gums round my teet but he must have got some of the numbing spray on my lips because they are still numb which means I am still not able to drink anything.

Just finished my toast and its now getting brighter again and the hail has melted.
I have to wait to take a pill before I go out and its not just a trip down the road as I go 13 miles which takes about 20 mins to half and hour depending on lorries and tractors and doddery old choggers doing 15 MPH and breaking at every bend whether its sharrp or not.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE. It's me, twice today.
We have had a lot of rain and Hail stones. Barry knocked and asked if we needed him for an hour. OH YES PLEASE, Ros got him to clear the tree that got broke by Denis's fence. He raked up loads of leaves also. I expect the green bin is full. He has put his hourly rate up to £15.00 from £12.50. He works so hard in the time he is here so we can't complain.
I rang the local Garage where we take the car, to book a service and MOT. I booked it for Thursday, forgetting the MY DARLING WIFE, has to go to "THE NAUGHTY GIRL" Lesson. She got caught speeding AGAIN, and elected to go on the driver training course, rather than points and a fine. She was doing 35 in a 30 limit. So I had to change the MOT until Friday. The cost of that has gone up from £75.00 to £100.00 but it's cheaper if you pay early, which she did.
We decided on cold lamb, chips and salad for tonight. So nice and quick. and not a lot of washing up.
See you tomorrow. xxxx

Afternoon all
Lovely sunny day with a slight breeze up until a few minutes ago when it went dark, the wind started and I've had a bit of hail. If I'd known the weather was going to be nice most of the day I would of left the washing for today, I'm sure it would of dried nicely on the line. Never mind that'll teach me for not checking the weather won't it?
Did you manage to do your bedding today Ann? I hope you had the nice weather I had earlier, you can't beat the smell of washing drying on the line, it's much better drying it that way than any other.
How lovely of the vets to send you a card with some seeds Vera, the vet around here did that when our last cat had to be put down, although we didn't get the seeds, just a nice card. I thought it was a lovely thing for them to do, they never did it with our other two cats, we think it might have been because our cat had to be put down 3 days after OH's father passed away, but still it was lovely to receive it.
Well, OH started his first proper day in work today, I've been wondering how he's getting on. It's so quiet here on my own, not sure I like it, but I don't really have a choice and I'm sure I'll get used to it in time. I'll pass on all your good wishes to him when he comes home later.
I leave my little TV on all night, have done for years now as I can't sleep in total darkness and silence, so hopefully that'll be something to help when OH stars his night shifts. I'm sure I'll get used to sleeping in an empty house, it'll just take a while to adjust to it.
I see you had a good nights sleep AnnG, I had a terrible one, clock watching because OH didn't want to use the alarm to get up for work incase it disturbed me, so of course I lay there unable to sleep wondering if he would be up on time. I think I'm going to have to let him know so he can use the alarm in future. I did drop off eventually but was awake again before 7.30am I had a look around the bungalow and noticed OH had gone, but I never went back to bed. Needless to say I have a headache now, so will be having an early night tonight. At least he got to work on time, he has to be there 15 minutes before his shift starts for the switch over from the night staff to the day staff so they can let them know what's happened in the night. I think he might be wanting an early night himself tonight as he hasn't done this type of work for a while, so he'll probably be tired. Have you had a coffee yet or is your mouth still numb? Maybe you could have a cool one and drink it through a straw that way you won't scald your mouth or dribble your coffee down yourself.
I hope you managed to get out to the shops okay Mel and weren't to late leaving. Hope the weather wasn't to bad, it's gone quite cold here now.
I was hoping your West Ham team would of won last night Frank, even though I support Liverpool, it was a close result though, so nothing to be ashamed of, pity they didn't win for you though. Pleased to see you and Ros had a good nights sleep. How did Ros get on at the hospital? I smiled when you said Ros was at the naughty girls lesson, not because of the speeding, but just the way you described it. When the speed limit was changed around here from 30 to 20 lots of people were being caught out, you need to be so careful these days don't you? OH accidentally went through a Red light years ago, but took the fine and points, he didn't even realise he'd gone through on red as he was in a traffic jam that went through the lights. They must of changed and he hadn't noticed, but like he said it will teach him to look next time as well as keeping an eye on the slow moving traffic. It was rush hour, not that there was any rushing being done, no excuse though and thankfully he's been very careful ever since.
Did you buy anything nice Jane? I bet it's nice to mooch around the shops with your daughter.

I am just waiting to shut the chickens in but we keep getting great hail showers. I am hoping I have fooled the chicken (Mona Lot) by putting a washing up bowl over the entrance to the nest box she always trie sto sleep in. Every night I have to shove her out onto the perch and she hangs on so tight to the edge of the nest box I have to gather her legs together and push her out onto the perch.
Frank its good Barry called round and was able to tidy the fallen tree up for you. He sounds like he is worth the extra £2.50 with what he gets done in an hour. You found yourself a little treasure there.
It was'nt too busy in Morrisons today which was good and I had a bit of a browse.

OH has rang before going in to his meeting tonight and said it was blowing a blizzard where he is about 8 miles away. I looked outside and there is a bit of sleet on the car but nothing is falling here. It's gone much colder now though.
Mel I sometimes find the stems on the tenderstem broccoli are not so tender so I try snapping it like I do asparagus so find the point where it doesn't snap cleanly and will be fibrous. Yes G likes his History books, lots by Dan Jones and Peter Ackroyd. From here I can see The Tudors, The Plantagenets, Realm Divided, Civil War, Magna Carta, Catherine the Great, The Greatest Knight, All The Kings Men, Redcoat etc. He has The History of The Post Office, The Wright Brothers, most Jane Austen and Thomas Hardy books, that's just what I can see on a couple of his shelves. I know he has lots of politicians Biographies too. Thankfully his wet books have pretty well dried out now and look ok. I hope Mona gets the hint when she sees the washing up bowl! :-)
I hope your lips are back to normal now AnnG, Don't they feel enormous when they are numb! It will be good when tomorrow's appointment is over for you too.
Gill, you have spent so many years looking after others, it is time now to sort yourself out so you can pursue your own interests and enjoy some you time. I hope things go well with your hubby's new job. Yes, the bedding got changed today, so nice clean sheets for tonight. :-)
Frank that was good Barry popping round to see if you needed anything doing and getting stuck in. We had a price increase with the window cleaner today, an extra £2.50 making it £12.50 now and an increase of 25%. I said to OH that I wished my pensions had gone up 25%. :-D It's still good value though considering he does all the conservatory windows too. Ooh naughty Ros having to go to speeding class! Better than the fine though.
Good luck with your scan tomorrow Jane. <3
I've been watching this. Isn't it the most lovely toy for a baby. :-) :-) <3 <3

Just a quick post tonight just to say hallo. My back was not bad at all yesterday and I went to bed feeling OK but had a terrible night tossing and turning and I think I fell asleep lying awkwardly. I got up in agony and it has been getting worse as I am getting more tired. The only place I can get vaguely comfortable is in bed, either propped up on pillows or lying flat on my back with my knees drawn up. So I am now in bed. If it carries on much longer I’ll have to see the doctor but the docs usually tell you to take ibuprofen and to rest but keep moving as much as you can. I am already doing that.
Jane, good luck with the scan tomorrow and I hope all goes well with your BCC removal AnninG. I will be thinking of you both as I am lying in the dentist’s chair having my 6 monthly check up and my broken tooth looked at.

Evening all,
We've had a bright and breezy day here an quite cold ,i had my blood test this morning ready for the hypertension review in a fortnights time ,after that we did a bit of shopping so we won't have to go out if we get any snow .
Ann i hope the gums are back to normal now and that tomorrow goes ok too <3
Jane all the best tomorrow with your scan ,i hope the results is as good or even better than last time <3 How did the shopping day go ? buy any thing nice ?
Oh Ann that little ones laugh :-D you can't help laughing with him . Hope OH hasn't got a long meeting so he can get home before the weather gets any worse ,i haven't looked out to see if we have snow .
Gill i hope OH has had a good first day at work ,you'll soon get use to being on your own your good at keeping yourself busy so you'll find plenty to do i'm sure .
Mel that's good you got your shopping all done and got back before the weather got to nasty . Lets hope your trick with the washing up bowl works .
Vera sorry to hear your back is worse ,perhaps a day resting in bed would help to ease it ,when my back was bad the Osteopath chap i saw told me to lay rather than sit or stand and when i did lay to have my knees bent ,i had to bring my knees up to my chest to slowly stretch my back ,have you an Osteopath near you you could visit ? it was expensive but did help ,i hope you can get a better nights sleep tonight and the dentist can help with the broken tooth tomorrow
