Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 Feb 2020 19:03

Ann I hate them and Di bought me some once. I keep saying I only really like dark choc. Di actually bought me a fleece rug with a huge picture of a hedgehog on it. Em came round too with a card and a beautiful big double yellow primrose. Its in the bathroom at the moment till the wind has passed and then I will go out on the patio in a wire basket thing she bought me a couple of years ago.

It will be horrid if they put yellow lines by yor friends house so you won't be ablel to park there. What will happen to the Friday beading then?

The pasty was more meat and veg than pastry and we alway cut the big crust off for the birds.

No we are not going out for a meal today as I have four nice lamb chops and a bottle of Rose'.

AnnG I too hope the leaks have gone since your new chap fixed it. Finger crossed.

40 years since you proposed to Chris eh! just as well he said yes!!!!!! Hope you don't feel too bad in the next few days. Sending love. <3 <3 <3

Just had a picture email from my cousin in Ohio with a unicorn on it so that counts as a card and now I have 14 cards.

Annx Report 14 Feb 2020 20:02

Is it you that likes Ferrero Rocher Mel? They are ones that both OH and I hate and one of OH's friends used to buy us them every single Christmas! Isn't it always the way.The fleece rug and yellow primrose sound lovely.

Not sure what will happen about beading if none of us can park outside. I'm going to drive by later on Monday to see what they have actually done or are doing. If it is lines they are doing, maybe they will leave some sections for parking.

Jane minor op is on February 26th. Then start with the Aldara cream afterwards. I have n’t come across anyone else who has Basal cell C but I believe it is quite common. Doctor says it looks as though my skin is the sort to keep getting them. And I always use factor thirty sun cream too. Worse thing is I think I have one starting on my cheek.

Ann that will be a shame if they put yellow lines which will stop you meeting for the beading. Shame you couldn’t get there today.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 14 Feb 2020 20:43

I forgot to say the rug sounds unusual Mel and I bet the primrose is really spring like

Ooh I do like Ferraro rocher.

It was good to see Gill pop in but I wish she would come back and let us know if Sandra is ok.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 Feb 2020 21:23

I love Ferraro Rocher and did have some for Christmas and Mon Cheri and dark choc ginger (Beeches) my favorite and four boxes of dark choc Brazils because he did'nt remember he had ordered them. I wish it was the choc ginger instead.

Any you get Ann you can send them to me please?

I miss counted I had 16 cards with Sandra and Gills one which is on my pc box.

Chops were lovely with brocc and new pots and they were as tender as butter and just enough pink inside.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 14 Feb 2020 22:08

How do you cook them Mel?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 Feb 2020 22:29

Do you mean the chops AnnG? I grill them.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 14 Feb 2020 22:38

Wondered if you grilled, fried or did them in the oven. We are not that keen as there never seems to be much meat on them.

Annx

Annx Report 15 Feb 2020 01:47

AnnG FIL had a BCC on the side of his nose. He never saw the doctor with it for ages until it started bleeding. They had to cut quite deeply and put a skin graft on after. Because of this it looked a bit of a mess at first, but within a year it was barely noticeable where it had been.

Ha ha too late as we won't get anymore of those chocs as it was oh's friend who passed away that sent them.

We love lamb chops, especially the double Barnsley ones over half an inch thick. They have to be well done for us, no pink. We don't buy joints very often as we have try not to eat much red meat, so these are a real treat. I noticed there were lots of little lambs in the fields today.

Morning all

Very dark here, we're wondering when the storm will hit and hope it doesn't cause to much damage. There's a chance our electric might go off, there was an emergency number on the TV last night so I've made a note of that just in case.

I'm so sorry I haven't been on here for a while, I hope you had a lovely birthday Mel and Mandy.

We've had a bit of to do with Michelle and her boyfriend, they were stopping Sandra ringing us and then told us when she does finally ring us it'll be supervised calls, in other words they will be listening in. Michelle started arguing with me because they are having problems and think I should be doing more to help, even though I've helped them as much as I can. She started swearing at me and when I said that was abuse, her boyfriend ended the call. Luckily before they hung up I'd said to them if I hadn't heard from Sandra by the end of the day I would be ringing the police the following morning.

Sandra rang me later that evening at 9.30pm and we chatted until almost midnight, but Michelle's boyfriend was listening to everything we were talking about as it was his phone and he had it on loud speaker.

We went to see if we could see a solicitor yesterday but couldn't see one straight away, the receptionist took our number and said a solicitor will ring us back. He didn't ring yesterday so I'm hoping he'll ring us on Monday. We just need some advice on various things, to make sure we handle things properly.

I'm not sleeping very well and I'm feeling anxious all the time. I can't concentrate on anything at the moment and keep forgetting what I'm doing. I put the washing in the machine yesterday then walked out of the kitchen, OH then said where are you going and pointed out that I'd set the machine up but hadn't turned it on. Things like this seem to be happening all the time lately.

On a positive note, OH got the job he went to the interview for and is just waiting for a start date, it's full time and a mixture of days and nights, one week days, three days off, then a week of nights, then another three days off etc... He's a bit worried about it though with the police being involved with Sandra moving out as he has to have a police check to be a care worker and also the two people he put down for references haven't been contacted yet, so now he's wondering if his new boss has had the police check back and changed her mind. He said he'll give it till Tuesday and if his friends still haven't been contacted as that will be a week since his interview he'll pop to his new place of work to see if everything is still going through.

At the moment, because I've stopped my carer allowance we have no money coming in, so we hope they don't take to long to sort everything out and he starts work soon, although it'll be a while before he gets paid as it's every 4 weeks, so I should imagine he won't be paid for around 2 months. Luckily we have a bit of savings so we can pay our bills and buy food.

So that's where we're up to at the moment, but things aren't good between Michelle, her boyfriend and us, so lots of tension and bad language off Michelle. I did manage to have a calm conversation with Michelle's boyfriend and we agreed that all we want is the best for Sandra, so at least that's something.

Hopefully this sorry mess will be sorted soon, but how long it's all going to take is anyone's guess as Sandra's birth certificate has gone missing and because we don't know the exact date her second certificate was issued after her adoption they're having problems trying to get a copy of it so can't do anything about changing her address or accessing her bank account as Sandra never had a bank card and no one can remember her bank details in full.

I'm concerned that when they do have access to Sandra's bank account they may use her money to buy a house for themselves, which is one of the reasons we've are going to speak to a solicitor as that would be fraud and if we've passed any information onto them that could help them do that we're concerned we could be dragged into their fraud. So lots still to sort out.

There are so many posts I've missed out on so I don't know how everyone is. I hope you are all okay and everything went well with your treatment Jane. Have you had your scan and did it go as well as your last one?

I've been thinking of everyone and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to come back on here with being busy with Sandra. I will get back on track as soon as I can.

I'm going to be busy again today, but will try and get back on here later if I can. Hopefully our electric won't go off with the storm. I hope the weather isn't to bad for everyone. Be careful if you need to go out.

Morning Gill and all,

Its very windy here this morning and raining too which makes it even worse. Dull dreary damp drab and dreadful.

Nothing planned for today just the egg delivery and Em want 2 doz this week so she has some for her FIL, and fetch the paper. Makes me sound like a dog using the word fetch!!

New plastic boxes should come today and one of my glass work surfaces. I can never understand why firms send one at a time when you have ordered two. Is it cheaper to send two parcels or to send one be it a heavier one?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 15 Feb 2020 11:58

Wet and very windy here so probably storm Dennis. We do have a small leak that has obviously escaped the treatment. So we are back to having one small oven tray out. Unfortunately our man is away for two weeks but we will get him back when he returns. I am sure he can fix it.
We just went round for the paper and a couple of other bits from tesco. We are now in for the rest of the day.

Gill Well done to your OH for getting the job. I do hope that the references are ok for him and that Michelle bringing in the police has not cost him a job.

You are wise to have contacted a solicitor and I hope they ring back on Monday as you badly need advise. I still think, seeing that Michelle is causing problems anyway, that you should contact the Social Services. maybe when talking to a solicitor that is one question you should ask.

If Sandra is considered an adult by the police, she has the right to talk to her parents/guardians on the phone without her sister's boyfriend (no relation) listening in. In fact if they do that they are virtually holding her a prisoner. Sorry Gill but I feel strongly about this and worry about Sandra.

Mel don't get blown away when delivering the eggs.

Do hope Vera is OK and not suffering with her back, I am pretty sure she was not on here yesterday. <3 <3

Had two more cards in the post this morning. One is hand painted by my SIL and the other is from her family.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 15 Feb 2020 12:11

Vera did wish me a Happy Birthday yesterday AnnG. Hope her back is not giving her too much pain and is getting better now.

I forgot to mention that I was pleased Gill's oh got the job, well done G. I still think Gill should get in touch with SS about the whole situation. She should also get the case number of when the police came down as it may not have been right what happened in the circumstances if the police were not told about Sandra's disabilitys. I can't understand what this world is coming to sometimes.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 15 Feb 2020 12:15

Gill where do you keep your births certs???? Is not Sandra's with yours? You should also have kept the adoption papers safe and its not like you to lose things like that. Can you not get in touch with the adoption society as you are her mother you are the only one who could find out from them when it all went through. You have to be next of kin as I understand it. Michelle is'nt which is probably why she is so cross.

Frank Report 15 Feb 2020 12:24

GOOD AFTERNOON, Mel, Gill and all.

Storm DENNIS seems to have arrived, wind blowing a gale, and rain with it.

Ros went to meet Martine this morning, so hope she safe driving in this wind.
.

Gill I am thinking about you, and all the going ons. If this abuse continues, I would be tempted to report it to the POLICE. I can't see how they can take Sandra's money without someones authority. You or your OH MUST get an order from the court, that Michelle and her boyfriend, can't touch Sandra's Money. I am sure a Solicitor will be able to help you with that. Keep your chin up. xxx

We had an excellent meal out yesterday. Simon and Sally gave us a gift voucher for £50.00 for christmas, so I used that and only had to pay an extra £6.45 for all we had.

I have been watching the BBC T,V. when the screen went blank and a notice popped up saying "SEARCHING FOR CHANNELS." so not sure if the sky dish has moved, or they have problems their end. But having said that I can't get any channels. If I can't get the T.V. to work, I will bring the other one in from the conservatory, and watch that. It doesn't have sky, so only the normal channels. But better than nothing.

A women in the village is starting up a "Hand bell ringing group" and is looking for people to join her. I might give it a go. !!!

I hope you are all well,. I am off to get the plates out for lunch, and put the kettle on. Lets hope none of us get any damage from "DENNIS" So take care. xxxx

AnninGlos Report 15 Feb 2020 12:33

Mel, she did but really early so maybe they have gone away.

Frank, Pleased that the meal was good, was it a carvery, lovely to have a voucher so a free meal, nice to have kept it until miserable February to enjoy it too.
Hope Ros is OK out driving, really gusty here, maybe it is not too bad where you are yet.
Bell Ringing, Hmmm should be interesting..

Gillx

Gillx Report 15 Feb 2020 13:16

Yes we have lots of questions we would like to ask the solicitor but need to wait for him to ring us so we can make a proper appointment as there are quite a few issues we need to talk about.

Sandra is keeping in touch with us on her own phone she's had bought for her so that's good, but we still think Michelle and her boyfriend Michael are listening in on her conversations as Sandra rang me earlier and told me Michelle looked around her bedroom door while she was on the phone to me.

Good news the police check OH had for his new job arrived here this morning, he rang his new job and they've said they'll probably have a copy, but because it was only the receptionist and not the actual boss, he needs to ring back on Monday just in case he has to take it to them. So with a bit of luck he'll start his new job sometime next week.

I'm sorry to hear Vera has a bad back and hope it's better soon.

How lovely to have a nice meal out Frank. You're probably right and your Sky dish has moved in the wind, we had problems like that all the time when we had the garage, we think the wind would bounce off the front of the garage and hit our dish, OH was forever having to move it back. Thankfully it's not happened since we had the garage taken down. I hope the other TV works okay for you. Good luck with the bell ringing if you decide to go. Let us know how you get on.

We don't have any high wind or rain here at the moment, just a bit of a breeze, we had a little fine rain earlier and it was very dark, but now the sun is trying to come out. It sounds like the storm has already hit further down the country from us, so no doubt it'll hit us later on today.

We keep all the certs together Mel and somehow they've gone missing. All we have is OH's and my small birth certificates and our marriage certificate which were originally separate from the others. Our National Insurance cards are missing to, so we think they must be with the other missing things somewhere. We spent days turning this place over looking, but so far haven't found them. We've now run out of ideas of where to look next. The picture of the egg was weird, what a funny shape and very large, it must of made your girl's eyes water. The pasty looks nice, but I don't know the story behind it with not reading all the posts.

Sorry to hear you still have a leak AnnG, am I right in thinking it's a leak in your conservatory roof, or is it another leak somewhere else? I hope the storm doesn't make it worse and it can be fixed very soon.

Just going to watch Hunted with OH, we like that programme and the new series started again a couple of days ago so I recorded it.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 15 Feb 2020 14:22

Hi Gill, so pleased the police check has come through. Good luck to your OH in his new job.
Yes it is the conservatory, we had a lovely young man come to fix the big leaks we had along the back wall of the conservatory and he replaced the flashing and did a good job. But of course you can't tell if it is all fixed until we get heavy rain which we have had today. there is just one very small leak so probably he has missed a bit with the sealant. He is working away for two weeks but I am sure he will come back when he returns.

Gillx

Gillx Report 15 Feb 2020 15:28

Thanks for the good luck wishes, I've passed them onto OH.

Sorry to hear your conservatory roof is still leaking AnnG, at least it's not as bad as it was, it's so easy to miss a small patch isn't it? Hopefully it'll be fully fixed in a few weeks time. Let's hope it doesn't get any worse though with the stormy weather. I'll keep my fingers crossed that doesn't happen.

OH's nipped to the shops before the bad weather hits us, we've been lucky so far and it's not to bad, although the wind is starting to pick up a bit now. My worse fear is if it's worse in the night, at least in daylight you can see what's going on, it's pretty scary when it happens in the dark.

We've noticed some of our mortar has come loose holding the ridge tiles on and fell down our roof, we think it was from the storm last week but with everything going on here we've only just noticed it, so I hope that doesn't get any worse over the next day or two. We've also noticed there is a patch of damp down the corner of the dining room wall, which may be because of the missing mortar on the roof, so it looks as if we'll have to have the insurance take a look. There's no way I'd want OH to go up on the roof, especially in this weather, so it might be safer to have someone else look instead.

Going to watch "Best Home Cook" now. I was following it with Sandra but haven't watched the ones I've recorded yet, I think it's the final next week so I want to catch up with it. I did mention it to Sandra and Michelle told her she can watch it on catch up at hers, so she won't miss the end.
