What a strange looking egg ,it's got a curly wurly bit on the end that looks as if it's tissue paper thin.

That's a huge pasty is it one you made ? I bet that went down a treat .

SuffolkVera Report 13 Feb 2020 20:27

That is one very strange egg :-S. Have you had anything like that before? And how about the size of that pasty - you could feed a family on that and have leftovers :-D

No Mandy it was bought in Mole Valley marked down to £3.25 and I usually pay £3 for two pasties in Morrisons so I thought it was a good buy and it had another day on it so was'nt right out of the date to use it by. It has a lots of big chunks of meat in it but not as much veg as the Morrisons ones.

You liked the little cast off on my egg then. The shell is all soft. I must give them some grit in the morning.

I did'nt tell you that when I went round to feed the big girls this morning the gate to the run was open. I have a plastic table thing in there which I put over the feed trough but the wind had blown it against the gate and the srews holding the bolt on were not very long and the bolt and bit of wood was on the ground. I had to gt oh to screw it back on for me with longer screws. If I has'nt shut them in they would have been all over the garden this morning.

Hope you all sleep well tonight.

I am looking forward to opening my cards in the morning. Hope you all get some! ;-)
and some flowers or choccies.

I have had eggs with a coil on top before but not that big. Think I have one over on the little dresser as I keep the big eggs after wsahing the shells or the odd looking ones. I had one once that had a flat side whether that side of the egg was a bit soft at first and then hardened but it did look funny.

Morning all,

Thank you for my birthday wishes. I hav'nt opened my cards yet but am thanking you for those too. Whne I think about it we were at Rosemore this time last year and it was quite a nice day weatherwise.

We have a grey morning here today with a little wind. Had Phil Pheasent in the chicken run again this morning. He must get in through the netting over the top but he can't get out again till I open the gate. I shall have to inspect the netting to see if the wind has damaged it anywhere.

Good morning all. A bit grey here with splashes of sun and not very warm. OH is pressure washing the patio, trouble is the slabs are old so need two or three washes. Can't go far this morning as we have hair appointments at 12.30.

So I am just pottering, emptying the airing cupboard dusting the bedroom etc, Boring stuff!!!

Mel are you having a special meal for your birthday/valentines day?

I don't know about the rest of you but we are not big on valentines here, well OH isn't he did remember it and said 'happy valentines' He doesn't believe in valentines cards. I always make him a card but it is just a little one, nothing flashy, just because I can.

Good afternoon all, "A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO AUNTIE MEL" xxxx

Another good nights sleep. I did stay up till 11.00 and slept till 7.00 Had a wee, and slept on till 10.10 am. So I must need the sleep. lol

Conrad has been to Brussels, to receive an AWARD for BEST properties in Southern SPAIN. They also got another from GERMANY. So they are over the moon with pride. They do work hard, so they deserve it.

There was something else I wanted to say about, but I have forgotten what it was. OLD AGE or what.??

Once again I haven't read the posts, SORRY. But did notice DAVID popped in again.

I have booked a table for 4.00 pm at the Greyhound in the next village. It will be a treat for Ros. and me as I won't have to cook.

Horrible COLD WIND again, and I see we have DENNIS on it's way over the weekend, so I will be happy to stay in doors.

Please keep yourself safe if out in this horrible weather. I will see you soon. xxxx

Thanks for all my birthday wishes and lovely cards. Love them all.

Put the washing on the line early as there was a nice breeze. By lunchtime it was raining and blowing in the wind so the lots had to come in.

Delivery at lunchtime of 24 red roses so I have just put them in a big jug. With them came a huge card.

I bought oh those chocolate shell things in white and milk choc and a card and some chocolate gingers but I hav'nt given him those yet or he will eat them all at once.

Back to my sorting now. I found a treasure box yesterday. It had a load of coins in from when I used to keep the new ones or special ones every year. There were 14 old pound coins in it plus £30 in two pound coins and loads of shiney pennies and twopences and 60p in 5p's and four pounds in 20p's and a few 10p'splus a STICKY SWEET!!!! How that got in there I don't know.

So pleased that we got out leaks fixed as it is chucking it down now. Hope it doesn't show up any more. Very windy too so I guess Dennis is on its way here.

Frank so pleased you had a good nights sleep last night. Hope you have enjoyed your meal.

Mel, you didn't say, I don't think, if you were having a special birthday meal. Pleased that you have had a good day and had some nice cards. :-)

My subs have gone through so am glad about that . Good shop this morning. That will be last time for me now for a good week or more. I can feel the side effects kicking in now :-S So a few very unpleasant days ahead I feel.

This day 40 years ago I proposed to Chris(being a leap year :-D ) We married 15 months later. Today is also 15 years since my Mum passed away :-(.

Have a lovely meal out with Ros Frank. Good to hear you had anoher good nights sleep last night.

Nice to see Gill pop in this morning. I hope that you are ok Gill <3

I hope your back is less painful today Vera and the heat patches are doing a good job.

AnnG when did you say you have your op on your wrist for the BCC? These thngs are very common aren't they.I think a common site is often on the side of the nose.Hopefully the cream will sort out the ones on your back.

Mandy I often buy a cake from Tesco for a birthday.I don't make cakes. The Coffee and Walnut one is always a fav here. But blow your own trumpet.I bet your cakes beat Tesco hands down
:-D :-D

Must go now.I need to take a sick pill so that I can eat a cottage pie later. Also must put anoher log on the fire.I may not post much for a while but will just see how I feel.

Annx Report 14 Feb 2020 17:05

I had a good sleep again too Frank. I hope it soon gives us some energy! :-) Good idea to eat out again. It's good for you to get out a bit and saves some work too. WELL DONE Conrad! It's good that his hard work is recognised and awards are coming in. He must be so chuffed!

Mel what a huge pasty! I expect a big one like that has more filling which would suit me rather than be mostly pastry. That egg is very strange as you say. I had to smile at your museum of odd eggs! I expect Phil will be back with the chickens again if you don't find and stop where he gets in. I bet he enjoys his free meals with your girls! :-D

I usually get about 4 valentine cards from OH, but I insisted we cut back to 2 this year as the prices are getting silly.I won't let him get me flowers for the same reason and we were eating out anyway. I did get a text from a 'mystery man' with a lovely little poem after I set off this morning. It was you know who of course!

No beading this morning as I couldn't park anywhere near my friend;s house as there were cones and notices saying no parking/no waiting everywhere and there was a big van in her driveway. I found out after that they are not starting work till Monday, but I had gone elsewhere by then. She rang OH after I texted her thinking I was at home and he seems to think the work is to put yellow lines down, so that will be a problem for me if they do, as it would be too far for me to walk from the village and they might move on to do more lines there anyway. :-S

After lunch we did a couple of errands and OH is having a lie down now. He still has this cough hanging on which is tiring him out and he did a lot yesterday with his 2 meetings and driving to Lincoln.

That was a nice gift from your OH Mel. I love those shell things you got for him. They have a nice praline taste. :-D I expect we will be getting your rain soon. It's been a bit breezy and chilly up to now, yet the forecast said it would be warmer here today.

Fingers crossed the leaks have all gone now AnnG. I bet you keep looking up to make sure though. It's good your OH has made a start on patio washing. Ours looks dreadful as it never got done last year, so it is high on the list to get done soon, but like yours I think it will need more than one go to get it looking good.
