There was a photo Ann but it was difficult to tell. I think the idea is that they would all be different as they were encouraged to not only use different ply wool but different stitches as well. More than anything I think the idea is to encourage free thought, not to have a plan but that won't work with most things. Lol I can't even make myself set a topper on a card at an angle!

That's great you enjoyed the film and your meal Jane. I've just checked and it is still on here next week so hopefully we can go then. Yes, you put your feet up now and enjoy your cuppa. :-D
I just googled scrumble crochet AnnG and see it is a kind of random, freeform effect. Some things look better than others. It reminds me a bit of abstract art and I'm afraid that goes over my head too! I like things to look like something and obviously I don't have much 'vision'. OH and I decided to have open minds and went round a Picasso exhibition at the art gallery at St Ives once. We were silent for the first 10 minutes while we studied the exhibits, then OH turned to me and said he must be a philistine!! We were both unmoved by what we saw and clearly lacking in the genes that make you see and understand what others see!! :-)
David I think the internet has opened up the lives of people who for whatever reason can't go out and about much. You can still find much of interest and stay connected with the outside world and the goings on without leaving your chair.

O Jane had a lovely girly day and enjoyed her lunch too thats so nice. She should sleep well tonight then. <3
Worn out after the two shops but irs all put away now and we've hada cuppa and a doughnut. We like Lidl's doughnuts cos they are not so greasy and have icing sugar on instead of caster. Still manage to get sticky though.

Morning all,
Hope you all slept well last night. After shopping yesterday I went out like a light the minuet my head hit the pillow.
Lovely morning here so far. The suns shining and we have had a frsot so its burning that off now. Oh toldme yesterday that we are going to get 40 mile and hour winds for the next four or five days so we are going to taking the gazebo thing down to a lower level to keep it safe. We don't want it blowing away before we have had a chance to use it.
Yesterday I took some pics of the snowdrops in the orchard and our one daffy out. The crocus in the corner of the orchard have two or three flowers out but its so dark there they did'nt show up on the camera as they are mauve.
Thinking of our Jane today and hoping she will be ok. Sending love and wishes. <3 <3 <3 I wonder if Hannah will stay with her today?

Sun shining here too.Chris is going to spend the morning in the garden pruning.James is in the Summerhouse on his lap top applying for more jobs. Unfortunately he did not get the job he went for last week . The reason was that there were a couple of areas of the job that he had no experience in .

Morning all
It's a lovely day outside today, lots of sunshine and quite warm with it plus no wind.... just like a spring day.
Unfortunately I've woken up with a really bad headache after an awful visit from my mum yesterday, she ended up shouting at me. OH came into the room and looked at me as if to say "What's going on" all I could say to him was "I don't know what's going on "
All I did was ask mum a question. As far as I was concerned her reaction was.......well over the top if you ask me. I never did get an answer.
I asked her what my sister had said when she told her I wanted to sell mum's house with her after mum passing away. Baring in mind mum brought the subject up a few weeks ago after talking with my sister and my sister saying she would sell the property on her own. Of course I didn't agree and thought it was settled that we were going to sell it together.
Well, my mum started shouting at the top of her voice I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT, she just kept repeating that over and over again and wouldn't let me speak, so I gave up in the end.
All I can think is she's had a row with my sister over it and also her sister, my aunt, as she was mentioned the first time around. Apparently my sister wanted to sell the property on her own because she thought my aunt would bully me. I said to mum that if she came to the property trying to cause me trouble I'd phone the police and have them deal with her.
My aunt can be a piece of work and likes to bully me, she's done it quite a bit in the past. I think mum might of mentioned this to my aunt and ended up having a row with her if she hasn't had a row with my sister. Either way I'm still none the wiser, but didn't take kindly to her shouting at me. I wouldn't mind but I don't know what's been said and I only asked a general question.
I felt so embarrassed at her behaviour in front of OH and Sandra, neither of them could understand what was going on either. Needless to say I didn't get an answer and she left soon after. I feel like I have to watch what I ask in future and feel like I'm treading on egg shells.
I haven't stopped thinking about since she left yesterday afternoon. I'm now wondering what's going to happen when she does pass away. She has an equity release so most of the property's value will go to them, if not all of it. I just thought we'd clean the place and put in on the market, but it looks like members of my family are out to cause trouble.
Sorry I just needed to get it all off my chest, I hope you don't mind? I'm going to get a painkiller and have a cuppa, then I'll catch up with all the posts. I feel like crying I'm so upset.

They keep advertising this equity release but I don't think its a good idea to take it.
So sorry your mum has really upset you again Gill. Try not to dwell on it. Have you spoken to your sister about this? Perhaps mum thinks you have a lot on your plate with Sandra and dos'nt want you to have the worry of it all. sometimes when people realise they have said the wrong thing and feel guilty it will make them very cross and maybe thats what has happened with mum.
Pastys for lunch today.
Sorry Jane I thought it was today you had the next session. Glad its not and you enjoy your facial and feel all relaxed afterwards.

Glad you said that Jane. I thought I was confused when Mel said that. Sorry James didn't get the job, one is waiting for him somewhere. Meanwhile he has been a great help to you and Chris.
Gill, sorry you have woken with a headache. If most of your Mum's house is in equity, I wonder if it would be less stressful to you if you just stood back and let your sister (and maybe Aunt) get on with it. I am not sure why you are worried, unless it is that you think your sister would take more than her fair share. I don't remember, is there a will and if so is there an independent executor? I suggest it is in the interest of your health to not mention it to your Mum again. However, she did sound a bit unhinged, I guess she is in her 70s so maybe she finds it stressful to deal with the thought of her own death. My Mum would never speak about her own death and never did make a will. Fortunately for the family having to sort things she died before my Dad who had made a will. Being in residential care though he hardly left anything by the time the bungalow value had gone on his care fees.
What a beautiful spring-like day it is here today. We did the Tesco shop and when we got back OH gave the lawn a top cut and it looks so much better for it. We have a lot of snowdrops and crocus out, a few daddofils, quite a few helebores, one or two Dutdh Iris and I have just noticed a small flower clematis is flowering. It is the earliest one we have and the flowers are very insignificant but it is good to see the flowers. It is actually warm in the sun too. And now OH is off to golf,

Good afternoon all,
Nice sunny day here, and feeling a lot warmer.
Lovely to hear you had a good morning Jane, I hope you enjoyed your FACIAL. By the way, where are H & G living, now they are near you.??
Gill, I think it's best you keep right out of this conversation about selling your Mothers house. It must be a delicate matter, not only for your Mum, but you and your sister also.
I didm't sleep the night before last. I sat in the chair reading, after going to bed at 10.00 and not being able to sleep, I got up at 1.00 am and stayed there until Ros came out to see where I was at 6.30 am. I managed to stay awake all day yesterday, but didn't go near my computer. That's why I didn't come on the THREAD.
Last night I slept from 9.30 until 9.00 am this morning. Apart from showering and shaving, I have done nothing. Ros (bless her) got all the veg. done for tonights dinner, got lunch ready for me, ham and cheese roll with a coffee. I am walking about like a ZOMBIE.
Simon and Sally called over yesterday morning to see us, but unfortunately Ros was out with Carolyn. While they were here, lay had a phone call from the hospital in Leicester. to go and see about her dressing after her operation. It appears she has had trouble with the dressing, and phoned the hospital. They left here at 12.30 pm and drove to Leicester, for a 2.30 appointment. He rang later, to say. everything was alright, and there was no infection. She has another appointment for Friday. I don't know what operation she had, all I know it was "A WOMAN'S THING"
Ros has a meeting at Carol's house at 4.30 for STITCHERY DO. As for me, I will be sitting around doing nothing as per usual. I MUST start to get out and get a bit of excerise, and fresh air. MAYBE TOMORROW.
See you soon, love as usual to you all. xxxx

Evening all,
It's been lovely and sunny here most of the day ,i washed Max's bedding and got that dry and we went and got some shopping and the sun was quite binding through the windscreen.
Jane i hope you enjoyed the relaxing facial ,i've never had one so don't know what it's like . Sorry to hear James didn't get the job this time i hope some thing will soon turn up for him .
Lovely photo's on the blog AnnG your garden is getting some nice colour in it now ,i was going to say after the winter but its still winter really ,so many things in the garden beginning to shoot if we get a really hard frost they will suffer .
Mel what is your Gazebo like is it one with the fabric sides and top ,we had one like that and when we had the heavy rain it laid in the fabric top and bent all the poles ,the one we have now has a sliding top that we can pull back when it's windy or wet but it doesn't have the side panels that close you in .
.Gill sorry to hear you and your mum had words i hope your headache has eased now ,try not to worry about it i'm sure it will all get sorted out when the times comes .
Shame you couldn't get out in the lovely sunshine today Frank ,a little fresh air with the sunshine might help you to sleep better ,i hope you sleep better tonight .
Ann i hope OH is improving and feeling more himself now ,how did the applique go today did you manage to get some done .

Evening All,
Typical, the morning I had to be up early for the craft class, the car was covered in frost! The new de-icer seemed very good though and soon cleared it. Despite being up extra early, by the time I'd attended to the sickly one with hot drinks etc I was almost late. Then when I got there I discovered that I'd forgotten the backing fabric for what I planned to do, so had to start afresh with something new. Then when I got home I found I was making the new little picture far too big for the frame I wanted to use for that, so had to pull it all apart and start again, so it's been a wasted day really. :-S
OH doesn't seem much different today, lots of coughing fits, so he's just watched tv or lay down. I think he may need to see a doctor if he doesn't start improving soon. I think the noisy little dog next door must think he;s got competition! :-D
Gill I don't think you will get anywhere with your mum. It sounds like she's made her mind up, doesn't want to talk about it (for reasons only known by herself ) but knows it's not what you would want. Trust me as one who had the most divisive, difficult mother, you won't change her and will only hurt and upset yourself by trying to reason with her. It's hard I know, but the only thing you can change is how you let it affect you, so don't let it as the stress will be bad for you! If there won't be much money involved as you say, then she's saved you the work and hassle of selling the property.
Your facial sounds lovely and relaxing Jane. I have never had one or a pedicure or manicure! That's good James is searching for another job. Pity his interview wasn't successful, but if another applicant had all the skills they wanted, he wasn't likely to be successful.
Mel as soon as I read pasta machine I thought it was for your clay! lol. I must do some washing tomorrow. It soon piles up! I noticed crocuses out in the next village. There are circles of them planted in the grass around trees that are in front of the old folks' bungalows. At what age do you become an 'old folk'? :-S
AnninG I must have a look at your latest photos! So hubby took advantage of gthe sunshine to get a round of golf in! :-)
Frank I bet it was good to see Simon and Sally and see they are ok. You will have to be careful walking, so you don't tumble as AnninG says. Don't try to do too much at first. Glad you had a good sleep last night and I hope you have another tonight.

Ann yes the pasta machine is for my clay. it is so I don't have to use my fingers to condition the clay as they are a bit achey now I am older. Its an add on birthday present. What a nuisance about the picture you were going to make today. Can't you just get a bigger frame for what you have started? I did one a long time ago of a victorian gentleman and lady. It was great but was put up the loft when we moved and when I next saw it it had been eaten by moths so I threw it away. I also did a holly hobby doll but did'nt frame that one. That was back in the early 70's.
I too hope Frank has another good night tonight which will make him feel more like himself. He needs some sun on his skin to absorb some vitamin D. I think we could all so with some of that.
Have sorted the thing that was wrong and made a couple of other leaves this afternoon.
We had burgers and chips tonight instead of fish.
I have a cold back tonight and just don't seem to be able to warm up and hope I am not going down with another cold.

Sorry I haven't caught up with the posts yet.
We've had family issues here today, Michelle called the police, not sure what's been said but Sandra is now at hers. From what I can gather the police asked Sandra if she'd like to stay with her sister and we think Sandra thinks it's a holiday, but we don't think it is and doubt we'll see her again for a long time, maybe forever. I'm hoping someone will let us know what's happening. I think Social services are getting involved so we're expecting them around soon.
I'm so upset I might not be on here for a while. I've got another migraine so will end now. Please don't worry I'll come back on here when I can, but it could be quite some time as I really haven't got a clue what's going on at the moment.

Oh my goodness Gil !! I am so sorry to see that things seemed to have turned rather nasty for you.I wonder why Michelle rang the police and why the Police think it is best Sandra is with her.It all sounds extremely worrying.I am sure you will not be stopped from seeing Sandra .You aren't a danger to her . I do hope that things can be worked out very soon and that Sandra will enjoy her 'holiday' with her Sister.
I will be thinking of you and keeping everything crossed that whatever all this is about will soon blow over and your life can get back to normal again. Please take care of yourself right now and dont forget to eat something. You will need all your strength by the sound of it. <3 <3 <3
My facial yesterday was so good. It was so relaxing.I almost floated out :-D. My skin feels so soft now and looks less wrinkly. Not sure how lng that will last though !!. I still have a voucher from Christmas so will book anther one in a couple of months.
Fitz is popping up to see us at lunch time. He wont be eating though as he says he is out for a meal tonight.I haven't see him since my last chemo when he came ot see me there.
Frank, Hannah and Gareth are living just off the A14 junction 8.2 junctions from us . So about 10 minutes drive.
AnnG I am just going to PM you :-D
Ann I hope OH is a bit better this morning and doesn't need to see the Dr. I hope everyone else is keeping well now . January was a grim month for many .Lets hope all the nasty bugs and Viruses are well on the way out now .
