5 days for a letter first class, that's a long time Vera. I must admit when the parcel arrived I did think it was quick, normally when parcels are sent they take longer than that. I guess you just can't tell what the post is going to do this time of year.

Ha ha Ann, Queen Gill lol :-D :-D yes two birthday's, but today is my official one lol :-D The flowers were a lovely surprise I wasn't expecting them. Her pink tree isn't up yet as it took us so long to find all the decoration in the loft then we must of changed the lights on the tree three or four times until we found some suitable ones. OH even went out and bought some but they were far to bright so he had to take them back again. Like I said earlier I didn't get to bed until the small hours of this morning. I feel total drained now as I've only had about 4 hours sleep, so if I don't fall asleep this afternoon I think it'll be an early night for me tonight . My headache is starting to ease now so that's good and the food has helped with the queasiness so that's now gone. I still have a few things to put up for Christmas in the living room but that can wait till later or tomorrow when we do Sandra's pink tree. I said I'd do her tree today but she say no I wasn't allowed to work on my birthday......bless her <3 I might have one of my chocolates now, I can see Sandra eyeing them up, so she'll probably say yes to one or two. ;-) ;-)

It sounds like it's all go at your house AnnG, it's nice to spend some time with the family though. Hope the boys settled okay in the end, it sounds like they were very excited, which might explain why they wouldn't go to sleep.

Have you got anything nice planned for Lacey's visit Mandy? I know how you do all sort with the girls. They were strange dreams, at least you had a better nights sleep last night., what is something you ate before going to bed that caused them?

Nice to see you on here Jane, hope all goes okay on Monday, I'll be thinking of you. <3 Enjoy your time with Hannah and Gareth, do you have anything special planned?

Oh dear Frank, I hope the hospital can help with Ros's situation. I suppose when you have false nails and you're half asleep these things can happen. Hopefully it will be sorted soon, as it must feel quite uncomfortable. Keep resting your eye's, it's not long until you can sort out another appointment. How are the bruises, have they almost gone now?

The painkiller I took about 20 minutes ago is finally starting to work, I think having something to eat before taking it has helped. At least I don't feel sick anymore so can enjoy what's left of my birthday.

Frank Report 23 Nov 2019 15:44

Harvey is here to collect the ASTRO TURF. Being that it's so wet it's very difficult to lift and put in the back of his truck. I am no use to him, so staying ut of the way.

Ros didn't go to the hospital. She thought it will work it's way into her mouth, as the nose and throat are connected. If not it might work it's way out somehow. She is in no discomfort, so letting Nature taking it's course.

Really dark, horrible day here. All lights and heating on. I have been resting (not sleeping) my eyes. Left eye still as blind as a bat. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Roast lamb tomorrow, I will do the veg tomorrow morning, and will eat sometime after 4/5 pm.

Harvey says the KITTENS are growing like mad, and are climbing up the curtains, ripping them with their claws. Not much they can do about them, they just hope they grow out of doing it soon, then they will replace curtains. Little sweeties. :-P :-P :-P

Back to my armchair. I see West Ham lost 2-3 to Spurs. Not a HAPPY BUNNY. lol

Be in touch soon. xxxx

Frank good idea to keep resting your eyes. I hope that nail does not cause an infection in Ros's nose.

Jane good to see you pop in, hope you have a pleasant time with Janice and her OH.

Gill hope you continue to feel OK, I guess messing around with all the lights will have given you the migrain.

Annx yes they do need to run around and this weather is no help. They did get out in the garden for a while but couldn't go on the lawn because it is so muddy. They are used to astro turf! Then they were taken to the Victorian fair but apparently it was too crowded and they couldn't see much so were only gone two hours and now they are back. So far playing with a couple of things they bought while out.

Have just done a bit of craft out in the shed. I am making some wall plaques.

Gillx Report 23 Nov 2019 19:13

Still as busy as ever with your crafts Mel, your table is going to look great with everything you've made. I'd love to see a photo of the table all set up, before you sell it all to the public if you take one.

I'm feeling okay now AnnG, the painkiller worked. I'm going to have an early night tonight to catch up on some sleep, I only had about 4 hours sleep last night and I'm tired now. I've been trying not to sleep during the day so I'll sleep properly tonight, otherwise my body clock would end up all over the place.

It sounds like Harvey has his hands full with the kittens Frank, maybe he could buy them a scratching post to save his curtains. So Ros is going to let nature take it's course and not go to the hospital, at least she's not in any discomfort, so that's good.

Morning all,

Dull and dreary here as usual and we have had about 25 pheasents in the garden this morning and mostly girls.

Had a lie in this morning as its Sunday. Where do the weeks go I keep asking you lot and you don't tell me!

Nothing else to report today so far. How are you lot doing?

Has the nail com eout of Ros's nose yet Frank? I have been worried about it.

Morning Mel and all

Grey, miserable and wet here again. It was like it yesterday but I managed to plant up the rest of my bulbs in pots of various sizes - 11 pots in all.

Not much planned for today apart from cooking a roast beef dinner. What are the rest of you up to?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 24 Nov 2019 11:28

Trying to avoid the noise and chaos in the lounge while cooking a roast for four plus two. Need a holiday after this.

I am not doing much today yet. Will have a go at some craft later and itsx time to dig out my wreath rings to see how many I have. Shan'nt do too many again this year. I am happy if I do about 10.

Must hoover the kitchen though as I have a lot of bits on the floor from where I cut up some felt.

Annx Report 24 Nov 2019 12:46

Morning All,

A bit dull here, just like me this morning! :-) I went to bed with a loo roll last night as my nose wouldn't stop running and I now have a very Christmassy Rudolph nose, so I've put vaseline on it now. lol Still all better than a nasty chest infection though so I can put up with it.

To make life easy we have 2 frozen chicken dinners today and OH has done some extra broccoli, sprouts and carrots to go with it. If I feel ok after lunch we may go to the art exhibition a few miles away. It is only 2 rooms to look at so I should be ok with that.

I am worried about Ros and the fingernail too. It could get breathed into her windpipe I would think, just as easily as into her throat. Fingernails are full of germs underneath too. I would pop to the surgery to see if a nurse could get it out with tweezers. If it causes infection and swells it will be much harder to remove. :-S

Oh AnnG the boys are obviously enjoying their stay! :-D Were they up bright and early too? It's good to know they are so healthy and happy but it will be nice to put your feet up after their stay. I'm sure your roast will turn out fine despite the chaos!

It's still dry here at the moment Vera, but you have done well to get 11 pots all planted up with your bulbs.

I am carrying on with some of Owl no 2 this afternoon. I still need to do more pompoms for my wreath but the thought of bits of fluff down my throat with this cold is putting me off. I might leave those to do in class on Wednesday as we are finishing things off then or doing our own thing. I also need to sort out a couple of my paintings to take with me as one of the ladies there keeps asking me if she could see some. I hope her expectations aren't too high! lol. I think I'll take a couple of small ones that will fit in my bag.

You have no need to worry about your painting Ann. They are always so lovely. Take the windmill and the boat on the shore they were lovely.

Frank

Frank Report 24 Nov 2019 14:06

Just my LUCK. I have just lost a half hour posting. So won't go into CHAPTER and VERSE again.

Good afternoon all you lovely people, We have the same weather as you. Heating and table lights all on. Ros decided to sweep up the fallen leaves, and try to get enough rubbish into the GREEN BIN for Tuesday. She hates to put it out half empty. lol lol

I managed to get showered and shaved earlier. When I tried to wash my leg, I slipped down. NO DAMAGE, just shook up. I have pulled my neck on the right side, which is uncomfortable.

All vegetables done, Yorkshire made and cheese sauce. I have put the Shoulder of lamb in, on a very low setting, It is so large. It can cook nice and slowly in the casserole tin. I will transfer it to another dish, when I put the Yorkshire round the meat. All those lovely meat juices go into the pudding. It's making me feel hungry.

Harvey took TWO BIG bags of presents away yesterday. The rest he will pick up on his next visit. While here yesterday he replaced the sliding brackets on the kitchen draws. One little touch now, and they close nice and easy. He certainly has his uses.

;-) ;-) ;-)

How are you all getting on with your Christmas shopping. ?? I have bought Ros a nice Rose Gold Bracelet. At the moment I am watching a nice SAPPHIRE and diamond ring. Size "R 1/2" Which should fit her perfectly. It's now trying to agree a price, with the seller. If I get it. That will be her sorted for Christmas, and my poor Bank A/C will be much lighter. !!! I did get notified yesterday, that the Winter heating allowance will be paid within 3 weeks, so that will help. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I must go and check on the meat, so will love and leave you. Take care and stay out of trouble. lol xxxx

That's nice of you to say that Mel. :-) I think she paints herself, which is why she's wanting to see what I do and she is a really nice lady and guessed I did painting when I was doing the branches on the Owl bag. I particularly like the boat as well and OH likes the Windmill, but those two are a bit big to take. I might try printing photographs instead, it would be a lot easier, as I will be carrying other crafting stuff. Happy crafting and I must get changed now to go and see the art thingy before they close. BBL :-)

Photos are a very good idea Ann as you could take many more to show her too.

Had our big breakfast and I just have to wash up but will send on a pic of the two Dragon Eggs I have finished. They just have to have a protective coat on them now.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 24 Nov 2019 14:58

Well, all is calm now, they have had lunch and gone home. 6 year old is really fussy and Daddy doesn't help by insisting that he eats one piece of carrot which he doesn't like so, and he is really stubborn, that is an uncomfortable ten minutes while they clash wills. and the boys just don't get on for longer than five minutes at a time and spend most of the time screaming at each other.

Still we are starting to get straight now. Next time we will go to them. I think Mum agreed it would be easier. One load of washing in the rest tomorrow. My room is almost straight, it is just all the bits around needing a home.

Annx your paintings are lovely as is all your craft work.

Vera you did well yesterday with the bulbs so well done.

Mel probably a good idea to cut the number of wreaths down. Do you have people who have them every year?

frank, have you got a none slip mat in your shower? If not you probably should have. Can't bear to think about that nail up Ros's nose.

Gill a quiet day today I expect?

Jane <3 <3 <3

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Nov 2019 16:42

Thank you Anng. So you have peace and quiet now. Good Idea to go to them in the future. Does the little one eat raw carrot? Sometimes they willthey won't eat them cooked. My son was like that and would'nt eat any salad stuff and only peas at one time. He got better as he got older. Little Sam next door won't eat a lot of stuff and he will eat bacon if it has ALL the fat off so only eats the lion bit. His gradfather , Em's dad will only eat peas so I think Sam must get it from him. Oh's sister boy would only eat pringles at one time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but he is much better now he is much older. Oh says its a texture thing. Sam won't eat chocolate but his brother will eat anything.

Annx

Annx Report 24 Nov 2019 17:22

The eggs are great Mel! Are the middles polystyrene and does the stuff you drip on them dry quickly? It sounds a good idea to just do 10 wreaths, they always look so nice, but I bet you get some order requests if they all sell.

Thank you AnnG. I was thinking I aught to do some more painting as I haven't done any at all this year. It's with joining the craft class and trying other things I expect. The boys sound just as lively as my sister's were when they were little. In the visit when they got gravel all over the lawn they also messed up the washing machine programmer so I had to get a man in and they managed to fiddle with the record player and the diamond stylus was nowhere to be seen after and was never found. I think sometimes they made the most of being away from home without anyone keeping as close an eye on them as usual! They often used to ask to come again the next morning according to my sister! :-0 :-0 Good idea for you to visit them next time as was suggested, at least they will be a bit older by the time they come to you again. At least you can relax again now.

OH drove me to the Art Exhibition so he could drop me outside the door to save my knees as it gets busy in the afternoon and you can't park very close. He sat and read in the car while I pottered around. There is a handful of very good artists that exhibit at this one and some do local scenes which are always nice to see. There was one textile exhibit that I found fascinating but a bit creepy! On a light muslin kind of background was a dark grey felted effect with stitched black ribbon over the whole thing dividing it into random boxes or oblongs. Inside each oblong was a kind of felted mummified figure swathed in faded cloth, decorated with faded embroidery. I suppose it represented some kind of ancient burial cave ,,,,,,,certainly very different and effective........but where would you hang it and who could you give it to?

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Nov 2019 17:30

Gosh that sounds very strange Ann you should hafve taken a pic of it to show us.

Glad you liked the eggs.I do the raised bit on them with the glue gun. It takes a little while to dry and you have to make sure it dos'nt run round the side if you turn the egg too soon. They take about two glue sticks to make each one and the ones I am using are a bit longer than the ones that came with the gun. Oh bought me two or three more glue guns last Christmas as he bought me glitter glues in different colours too but I don't like the glitter glue much.
