During my short 20 minutes in the garden I seem to have pulled a muscle in my back. It is not really ever so painful, just 'pulls' a bit and is uncomfortable. I think I bent over awkwardly to get a piece of black grass out of the garden to put in one of the winter pots. I had to bend over a large pot to get to it. Hopefully it will ease soon.

Rest up AnnG and take some painkillers. Its not nice when you do that and so easily done without thinking of what you are doing at the time.
Not got at the craft yet!!!! fed the chickens after boiling some veg up for them and the've had that instead of corn tonight. I may give them a bit in about half an hour.
No wI am going to get on.

Afternoon All,
Quite a good day here with plenty of sunshine.
As for whose jobs get done, my first OH ALWAYS prioritised everyone else's jobs at the expense of ours. He couldn't say no or let anyone else down and of course, everyone thought he was wonderful as he would down tools at home and get their jobs done while leaving all of ours. :-S I think sorting your shower somehow is a must now though Frank as you have waited quite a while with it being unreliable. Has Harvey got he new one yet? That's sad about your sister, but she hasn't been well for ages has she the poor thing.
AnnG I would like that kind of photography group and to have my photos looked at by expert eyes so I could try to improve! There are a couple of photography groups within 17 miles of me, but I don't know what they are like. I must see if they have websites or are on FB as I might get some idea then. The council GOlearn centre is in an old school in our village now and they do all kinds of workshops and courses, but they are so expensive! They used to give discounts if you were over pension age, but now they only give them if you are on benefits or can get them at no cost. Even my friends who are working say they are too expensive for them and then any materials you use are extra too.
Mandy cake decorating Is something I've never really got into, other than the Christmas cake rough icing to make snow oh and I coloured marzipan to do a big poinsetta on top one year! These sugar flowers are so beautiful though, more like art or sculpture and I think I would enjoy making them. I bet your son's wedding cake looked lovely too. I'm wishing I'd washed and dried our towels now. I hope Lewis' poorly throat soon gets better now and that the others don't get it too.
Gill I was thinking of taking our wall pots down yesterday with all the wind as I don't want to find them smashed like the last ones. It's good you have moved your plant to where there is more shelter.
When we drove through the next village where the yarn bomb is, I spotted the craft group teacher and others had started taking it down so we pulled over in the car to speak to her. She said people kept stopping and saying to leave it as it is beginning to look so bare without it! lol. On the way out of the village we saw where someone had misjudged the bend, crossed the road, and gone through a hedge and ended upside down in the ditch the other side. It did look a mess, dented all over. Hopefully the driver was alright and will have learned a lesson. You always dread that happening if you were driving round the bend the opposite way.

Morning all
Another dull wet day, so we'll be staying in out of the rain today.
We're lucky Mandy, although our garden can be water logged if it rains heavily for a short space of time, it's not really flooding. I do feel for those people who are flooded, it must be awful and you have to tell potential buyers now if you live in an area that floods, so selling would be a nightmare.
What a terrible accident you saw Ann, I hope the driver got out okay and no one was hurt. Like Mandy said it doesn't take much rain to make the roads slippy. It must of been very frightening for anyone inside the car. The wind picked up even more yesterday so moving the plant I think was a good idea. Yes, I would take your wall pots down now, the last thing you need is them blowing off again.
Didn't Harvey say a while ago he would fix your shower Frank? Surely he would do it before finishing off his ceiling if he's already promised you. I can see why she'd want her ceiling doing first if it's been an ongoing job, but I don't think it would take that long to swap the shower over. I hope it's sorted soon for you and he also has time to finish the ceiling to, then everyone will be happy.
How many yolks were in the big egg Mel? I've been wondering if there were more than one, it was big enough.
Is Jane on her way home today? I hope she had a nice time.
How are you feeling this morning AnnG? I hope the Voltarol worked and you're feeling more comfortable.
I'm having problems typing today. I banged the back of my hand on the kitchen worktop last night and now I have a massive black bruise , it's quite sore and makes typing difficult. I've tried one finger typing but it takes a long time typing that way, plus I can't find the keys with being so used to touch typing.
I wouldn't mind but I was only trying to give OH a cuddle and caught the worktop when I went to put my arms around him. I took my engagement ring off straight away incase it swelled up but couldn't get my wedding ring off. Thankfully it didn't swell up to much so my wedding ring isn't to tight, which I'm glad about. When OH hurt his ring finger a few years ago he had to have his wedding ring cut off, so I've been very lucky.
I'm going to catch up with a few programmes I've recorded today, they've started piling up with me being so busy this week, so I need to start clearing the planner now.
What is everyone else up to today?

Good morning
I hope you all had a good night’s sleep. I was awake reading and listening to the radio for a good part of the night and feel a bit washed out this morning but I am still functioning so I must be getting enough sleep.
It’s none too warm here today and very wet. According to the forecast the rain is set in for the next few days. I hope it’s dry by Wednesday as we are going on a day trip to Knole.
I’ve had a couple of days doing things like washing, ironing and shopping - how boring is that! I hoped to do a bit in the garden but that will have to wait till it’s a bit drier.
I am sorry to hear about your sister Frank. It must be a worrying time for you and the family.
How is little Lewis now Mandy? I hope he is feeling a lot better.
Ann, that sounded a very nasty accident. I hope there were no serious injuries. Sometimes accidents can’t be avoided but I should think nine times out of ten it’s down to drivers ignoring the conditions or having a moment’s inattention.
I hope some rest has eased your sore muscle AnninG.
I am dying to find out what Jane saw at her matinee and hope she comes on today and tells us. A friend of mine was taken out by her son yesterday for a birthday treat and didn’t know where she was going. It turned out to be a trip to London to see the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition. She thought it was wonderful and she isn’t at all “arty” so I think it must be quite something.
We are planning to eat about 2 pm so I had better be getting the meat in the oven and some veg prepared. Beef today. It’s not my favourite but OH likes it.

Morning all,
Rain rain and more rain this morning and itss that fine rain so looks like mist and net curtains blowing across the field at the back. Everything is sooo wet.
That sounds a nasty crash you saw yesterday Ann and I hope the driver was ok but I bet he or she was truely shaken up. With the leaves on the roads now it does get very slipery and oh always tells me to be carefull if the leaves are down.
Hope Anng's muscle is better today so give it a nice rest and no stretching today.
WEnt to bed at 1 o'clock last night and got up once for the loo and then slept till 8am and turned over for a little lie in and woke again at 10am!! so you could say I had a very good nights sleep and I do feel better for it this mroning.

Morning all, I won't say "GOOD" as it isn't. Went to bed around 10.30 pm. Radio was rubbish, and I didn't feel like reading. Layed for hours, got up at 3.00 am made a COT and watched T.V. until 5.30 am Got a couple of hours and was up by 8.00 am.
To say the least, I feel like nothing on earth, and seeing the weather forecast, I think I will go back to bed. lol lol They are forecasting TWO weeks of ran in TWO DAYS. I think it's going to be bad, in the West Country, and the west side of the north.
With Harvey working six days a week, he really doesn't have a lot of time for doing jobs for me. I might put a few words on the local Notice Board, to see if there is a plumber who will do it at a reasonable cost. (YOU CAN HOPE) !!! From what Harvey said, it's only a matter of turning off the water and electricity, taking the old one off the wall and putting the new one on. I DARE NOT TRY IT. I will end up flooding the house, or electrocuting myself. ;-) ;-) ;-) I will just hope I can find someone at a reasonable cost, or be patient until Harvey can get up here.
Pam, next door is 81 today. Ros is popping in with her card and present, while I try to get the shower working. Then I will get dinner prepared. Roast Pork tonight.
Lewis was suppose to ring us last night. Typical of him, I bet he forgot, and was out with his mates. I need to know what he wants food wise on Monday Evening. I can then get a table booked. I don't expect it will be busy anywhere, being a Monday.
Yes I think Jane ids back today, then off to Plymouth on Tuesday. Better her than me. xx. I don't think there is anything I can do, if I went to see my sister. It's a long drive for Ros. and if she is as bad, as they say, she may not even know I was there. So will just stay in touch.
Not a good day for being out and about, so I will be in my book or watching a bit of Tele.
See you all soon. xxxx

Forgot to mention "LOLA" is coming to England. Jan's SIL Sylvia and her partner Max have spent two weeks in Spain with her and Conrad. They FELL IN LOVE with Lola, and offered to pay for her to be bought to England, and they would ADOPT HER. They know someone, who is going to Spain, in his van later this year, and has offered to bring her home. Jan has offered to have her anytime that Syl and Max want to go away, and of course Conrad will be able to see her when he returns to England. What a great result for all concerned.
At the moment she is left all day, apart from lunchtimes, when Conrad goes home. She is too much responsibility for Conrad, and he can't find anywhere to get her re-homed, and as for having her put down is a BIG NO NO. I am so pleased of the outcome. Conrad said he has met the owner of the first born (the big WHITE ONE) he is a very big dog now. So it looks like she had more than ONE PARTNER. lol lol As the other pups were quite small like their MUM.
Still a horrible day out there. I have put a bit of background heating on, and you need lights on to read. So a real Autumn day. It is such a pity, there are various things going on around today, as it's NORTHAMPTON DAY. TODAY. I didn't know that !!!

We did have a shower earlier and rain and wind in the night but for a couple of hours it has been sunny and is quite warm out as well. We went to a garden centre for coffee and shared a scone. We wanted some violas and reticulata irises which we got. The violas are for me for one of my small troughs but they will have to wait a day or two, I daren't risk bending down to do them today.
My back is a lot better, I used a heat rub (Just tescos own) on it last night and tried to lay still and straight and it is a lot better today, much easier. Strange I had forgotten the flu jab and you can't see a mark where she did it but I went to lay on that side last night and it was really painful like a bad bruise. OH can't feel his at all. Every year it is the same, my arm is tender, his isn't. (no sense no feeling!).I slept quite wll last night too.
Frank that is good news about Lola, lovely that somebody wants her and it takes the worry from Conrad. Vera, horrible to not get enough sleep but amazing how we cope without it isn't it? Gill that bruise sounds painful, you must have caught it in a sensitive place, hope it eases for you soon.
Ann, wonder if you will find out what happened in that accident. It amazes me that sometimes cars can be involved in what seems to be really bad accidents and people walk away from it, we have had a couple here recently in at least one of the cases the car was tolen, the 2 people in it legged it so assume they were not hurt, it was a write off. Stolen from a petrol station where somebody stupid went in to pay and left their keys in the ignition.
Look forward to hearing about Mel's egg and Jane's surprise.

O thats great news about Lola and I am sure she will get on well with Jan's SIL and family. How nice that they can see her to when they are in England. It will be interesting once she has settled in if he visits and she recognises him. What a lovely outcome to a very dear little dog. <3
We watched the race with our breakfast and it was a very exciting one. Won't say the outcome as I think Gill and hubby watch it later. You will enjoy it.
The suns just popped out for the first time today as its been raining all morning and up until now.
Please you had a better night Anng and it sounds like the cream did its job. Hope your arm is'nt too sore for long. We are a bit like that as oh dos'nt usually have trouble with his but I do and if he is going to touch me its always on the sore part.
I really need to do some washing but the rain has been blowing under the covered part of the patio and I won't use the dryer if I don't have to.

Funny our different habits. My drier is on at the moment to dry towels but that’s all I use it for. I hardly iron anything. I straighten seams and collars and peg things up carefully and find all I need to iron are a couple of bits each week. I have a friend who irons absolutely everything and looks at me as though I am mad when I tell her life’s too short to iron a pair of knickers.
