Don't know where it's gone Me but there's no reply in my messages .
Think you might need a rain coat and brolly tomorrow AnnG or even a boat !!! We should have the rain too by lunch time by the look of things .
I think it's next week Jane is going to Plymouth ,i think he said she had a busy week this week Physio and Consultants appointments and then on Friday off to London .
We were sitting out having our coffee when Max started barking i was just about to get up to see if some one was at the front door when there was an almighty crash, when i looked round the corner of the house there was a parcel laying on the ground .....the postman had just chucked it over the gate :-0 It was the new brush head for my Vax blade ,it was lucky it was still all in one piece , think i might have to try and catch him tomorrow and have a few words with him ,he was well down the road by the time i came in and looked out .

Afternoon All
No I am still here :-D. Mandy is right. It is next week I go to Plymouth. The early start this morning was to the hospital Gym for the first of 6 sessions of Physio. Oh my goodness what a work out. I don't think I shall be able to move later. It was good though as there are some excercises that I have not been doing properly. I might actually go and run a bath shortly and have a nice good soak. Tomorrow morning at 10 it is to a neighbours for the Big McMillan coffee morning. I made a Banana and choc chip loaf yesterday to take but I am not sure about it. It tastes fine but seems a bit greasy. I think I might have used a bit too much butter. On the way back this morning I got a Coffee and Walnut Cake in Tesco so I can take that .The Banana loaf is the first cake I have made in probably over 20years !!!!!!.
Been knocking yourself about again then Frank !I hope you dont have a big bruise.
Mandy that was so bad of the postman to just chuck the parcel over the gate like that. I would definitely be having words.
The clouds look like they are building up a bit now.I just hope we dont get any rain just yet as I have a full line of washing out. James has gone off to Centre Parc this morning with his friend and young family so I made sure he stripped his bed . He was at the Butchers in Thrapston by 8 this morning to get some Steaks and Sausages to take.Sounds like it is going to be a BBQ for them tonight.
There is a HUGE wasp in here :-| I must try and get rid of it.It's a whopper :-S

Hope you manage to get to the Chiropodist ok tomorrow AnnG (preferably without webbed feet ;-) ). It does look pretty grim in places . I havent actaully seen yet what it is supposed to be like our way. I only have about 100 yards to get to my neighbours coffee morning . Trouble is I can't quite manage a quick dash yet.
Frank was the Tsunami the Boxing Day one that you mentioned ? Phillapines/Thailand? There was another one in Japan but I think that was later.
Gill, I hope that Sandra doesn't get the bug. She always seems pretty lucky and not catch what you and OH have.

Afternoon all from a windy and wet Jersey. I see there are threads mentioning the Thomas Cook collapse. This trip was booked through them but it isn’t one of their own packages and our flights are EasyJet so we are hoping we are OK. We feel really sorry for those who are affected and especially for those losing their jobs, particularly the ladies in our local branch who have been sorting out the specific needs for our group holiday for 25 years and always do a good job for us.
We all did our own thing today so OH and I went to see The Glass Church. Jesse Boot who founded Boots Chemists married a Jersey girl and had a home on Jersey. This little church was his local place of worship. When he died his widow asked Rene Lalique, with whom they were friends, to redesign the interior as a memorial to Jesse. So much of the interior including the font and the altar is in Lalique glass. It’s very impressive and when we get home and OH transfers his photos to the computer I’ll email them if anyone is interested.
We then came back to town and went to see the Occupation Tapestry which was made in 1995 to celebrate 50 years since the liberation of the Channel Islands. I kept thinking of all you clever crafts ladies and how you would have enjoyed seeing it. It is beautifully stitched and two good videos to watch and lots of interactive type information about the occupation.
I’m glad you got on well at your physio appointment Jane. You seem to be going from strength to strength.
Gill, the menopause is possibly making your migraines more frequent. Hormonal changes can affect them.
Frank, what are you like? Fancy banging your head. I hope it’s not still sore. Sorry you had another bad night. Perhaps you’ll sleep better tonight.
I am having trouble with the keyboard on my iPad at the moment. It won’t go to the bottom of the screen where it usually is but is sitting right across the middle so I can’t re-read any posts under it. If I should have responded to anyone’s post and haven’t, I apologise. I will have to try and sort it out as it’s driving me mad.
OH is just going to the bar for a pint so I am now going to have a quiet cup of tea and a nice shower before dinner at 7.

Evening All,
I could have got the washing dry this morning, but we got a call from the jeweller to say my stuff was ready and as we don't like going out and leaving things on like the washer, we waited till after lunch and until we got home.....by which time it was pouring with rain. :-S It was a wasted journey anyway, as only the plated things were ready and not the ring. As the plating hadn't quite covered at the back of the earrings, they will do them again. :-)
Vera, it sounds like you are having a more enjoyable time than you did on your last holiday and are finding some interesting things to do. I look forward to seeing your pics of the Glass Church. :-)
Jane it sounds like you got a good workout at the gym! I hope you don't stiffen up too much tomorrow. I can't remember when I last managed a sprint! :-S I'm at the hairdresser first thing tomorrow so will probably be like a drowned rat in the rain after.
Gill I had more migraines going through the menopause. I was at work then and found the strip lighting seemed to trigger them, also the unbearable heat in the office. Before they stopped it, people's cigarette smoke did it as well. Once we inspectors got laptops and could write up at home after our visits it was much better for me. It more of less proved the cigarette smoke did it too as I often got them after calling in to see mum on my way home from work and she would sit in a fog of smoke.
Mandy, how awful that the postman threw the parcel over the gate! It's a good job it didn't damage anything. One of our postmen tends to leave things in the recycling wheelie bin which isn't very nice now it isn't just paper!
Frank, I hope your head isn't too sore! I keep saying you need a crash helmet the same as OH as he is always bumping his head. He still bumps it when he gets in and out of my car and I've had it 4 years now. :-S
AnnG the plant I got is called Sedum Makinoi 'Ogon' and will be a nice splash of lime green among the more greyish purple ones I have. I hope you don't get a soaking tomorrow going to the chiropodist.

Your little sedum looks great Ann a nice colour with your other ones. They also do one called Red Carpet which would look nice with it.
Its pouring with rain here.
I have been trying to make nore Fairy beds today but on the third one do you think I could get it right? I undid it three times because I kept getitng the lace round the wrong way. I had sewn two up so could'nt really se how I had done those ones but looked inside and worked it out in the end.
Then the cotten ran out on the bobbin half way through sewing up the mattres bit so I had to wind one of those and then thread the machine again and then I had it wrong and it was'nt sewing properly. Have now flung them inthe uti room to look at another day and I am exhausted.
I broke a glass today too. Something I hav'nt done in a very long while. It just slipped out of my gloved hands while I was washing up and hit the egde of the sink by the draining board and the whole bottom of the glass came out whole and the side broke upwards. It was oh's half pint glass with the bulge at the top. He said he would have to take me out for a drink so I can get another one. Cheeky monkey.
My sewing bee has made me very tired tonight so I think its an early night for me as its Donkey Day tomorrow.

Morning all,
Dull and rain again here this morning proper Autumn weather.
We have been over run with Daddy Longlegs the past two nights. Every time oh opens the back door to go out and have a ciggy they all flock in towards the light and the fly catcher. We even had six in the bathroom this morning. One in the bath, three in the sink and two in the shower and thats the only ones I have seen so how many are lurking in other corners in there I don't know. I have never seen so many come indoors its like something out of a horror film.
As the weather has turned colder I think its safe for me to put the fans away now.
I had a look at my fairy bedding stuff this morning and think I may have made the three covers too small. I can make the mattresses small to fit them though. What a twonk!!

Morning All,
Pouring with rain and the road to the hairdressers had huge puddles at the side. I think it must have rained all night. Got soaked going to there from the car park and back as well. She cut my hair shorter than usual as I have to go week longer till my next trim, so at least there isn't much hair to get wet. :-)
OH heard a mousetrap go off in the loft in the early hours so they've started to come through the garage and up the wall to the loft now the nights are getting cooler.
I've found some thin cotton trousers that will never fit me again that I can cut a piece from for our embroidery class tomorrow and will save me buying anything. I might take some of my felt as well in case we can use that. I've no idea whether we will be doing something the teacher has in mind, but if not I think I will do some daisies or Rudbeckias or a Sunflower, that sort of thing, unless I think of something else I fancy in the meantime! No doubt she will have some books with ideas in. The material I have is sky blue which would work well I think.
Out for our £4.95 carveries at Ullesthorpe Court next. OH is out every night at meetings this week so I will see if I can start going through the food cupboards to chuck out any out of date things, while he won't be here to put things back that he always says he will eat but doesn't! lol. It will start to clear the decks ready for Christmas and be a job less to do!
What a shame these latest fairy bed covers turned out smaller Mel. As you say though at least you can make the mattresses smaller. Will you be making fairies to go in them as well? I think a have a reddish sedum that might be the one you mention in the top island bed. I must have a look when it stops raining. I did notice one online called firecracker that I would like so will see if I can find a stockist. The ones I have look neat and decorative and are good for smothering weeds which is good while I can't do weeding!

Morning all
Well you were right with the weather forecast AnnG, it's poring with rain here. Hope it's not to bad by you when you go out for your appointment.
Hope your head isn't to sore after bumping it Frank, no doubt you'll have a bruise now.
That's not a good way to deliver a parcel Mandy, good job it wasn't glass or any other breakable object. I would be having words with him to if I was you, he should be delivering the post correctly, not just throwing it over the gate.
How are you feeling today after your physio session Jane, I hope you're not to achy and the soak in the bath helped. Enjoy your coffee morning. How is Fitz getting on now?
The church interior sounds lovely Vera, I love Lalique glass, it's sounds very pretty, I'd love to see some photo's please. Yes, it's a shame everyone losing their jobs I do feel sorry for them all.
You're not on your own there Mel with the Daddy long legs, we've had loads in our place this year. Sandra is terrified of them flying near her so I have to catch them and put them outside. Don't you remember when I used a feather duster to try and grab one, then nearly set fire to the place because the duster melted on a light bulb. They're still flying in but I don't use the duster anymore. Hope you manage to sort out your sewing, it's a good idea to leave things when they're not going right, they tend to work better when you go back to them.
Your Lime Green Sedum sounds lovely Ann, I like lime green in a garden, especially this time of year when the light isn't as bright, the plants tend to stand out more. I mentioned to OH I was going to bring in the solar lights from the garden today and when I got up this morning he'd brought them all in for me and gave them all a good clean, so I just need to put them away now. Wasn't that nice of him. We're going to have to put Sandra's light up Flamingos away until next year to, there just isn't enough sun to power them, it's the same with the lights OH brought in today. So they'll all go away and be brought back out again next spring.
OH said he heard the new neighbour next door knocking and banging again outside in the rain, I don't know what he finds to do but working in the pouring rain is a step to far I think. They are a peculiar pair. He's put another light outside now, he's certainly giving Blackpool lights a run for their money.

gill you van't blame the man really after all the trouble he had with the builders and the fire inthe new kitchen etc.
Iv'e had the blooming Error Page three times this morning.
I hoovered up the 6 flys in the bathroom and 38 in the kitchen which the fly zapper had got. Walked back in the bathroom and there two more inthere. They must have come through the open window. Then washed up and found two more crane flys on the windowsill I had missed earlier with the hoover. Also four spiders inthe hall and a few tiny miny ones inthe kitchen so at the mo I am quite free of spiders and daddy long legs.

Well my appointment was at 10.30, we needed to get the 0950 bus 200 yards from our house. At the time we needed to leave to catch the bus it was absolutely black out and torrential rain. By the time we had walked 200yards we were soaked, our trousers were wet from the knees down but we did have good raincoats on. The rain had stopped by the time we got off the bus and it has not rained since and we walked from the bus to here in sunshine. Anyway job done.
I meant to say Vera that the last twice we stayed in Jersey, our hotel was a short walk from the Glass Church. It is lovely isn't it? I also remember seeing it on honeymoon all those years ago.

Haven't read the posts, but did see AnnG's just before this. When on Honeymoon in 1959 we visited the GLASS CHURCH ALSO. Did anyone go to the German Underground Hospital ?? That must have been dreadful, being in there.
Horrible day here, it's rained on and off all day so far. I'm just off to try to relax and get comfortable. Yesterday afternoon I went to bed for THREE HOURS, feeling ROUGH.
Sorry about my doom and gloom. After dinner tonight I will be off to bed. out of the way, as I know I won't be much company. :-| :-| :-|

Afternoon Everyone
The heavens have just opened here again. This morning was really wet with big downpours, but then the sun did come out for a little while. I enjoyed the coffee morning .There were 8 of us there ,incliding a lady who has lived further down the road for 40 years. Today was the first time I met her !!!!!. She has early dementia and her memory is pretty poor. I lost count of the number of times she asked me where I lived :-( I could tell it was a bit difficult for her to follow the conversations but she did enjoy herself which was nice.
Not a good day for you I see Frank . Hopefully tomorrow will be a better one for you and you will enjoy seeing Lewis and hopefully taking him out for a meal.
Daddylong legs seem to have arrived here too. I dont mind them so much .I would rather have them than all the spiders and cobwebs. Ann at least you can hear when a mousetrap snaps in the loft. You will now be able to keep them baited .I could always bring Thomas up :-D
Your new jewellry sounds really lovely. What a great idea to use some of your old things to be remade into something you really want.
I love the sound of the Glass Church Vera(would love some pics to please) What a shame the weather has not been too clever for you. When are you back home? You said you should be fine flying home. I hope everyone else who had flights with Thomas Cook manage to get home too and without too much disruption(such as having to go to a different airport )
I feel as stiff as a board today after that Physio yesterday :-S I haven't really managed more excercises today. Well just a couple which I suppose it better than nothing. Tomorrow I have to be at the Surgery for my Dermatologist appointment for 9am.The clinic has been moved to there from the Hospital which does make things a lot easier. But I need to try and think what time to leave the house and not get caught up in the School Runs traffic or get stuck in the 3 way traffic light system .I will go the back roads I think but still will leave about 8.15. . I can't risk being late. Tomorrow afternoon it is the cinema in Northampton to see Downton Abbey. We will have lunch at either Pizza Express or Ask Italian.
The Postman asked Chris this morning if he knew how long next door are away as a request to hold post was made . But it just said 1 ...1 week,1 month ,1 day???? Chris had to say he had no idea as we never know if they are here or not.It is only when the dog barks or the chain saw is going that we know they are around. So Chris could be of any help. I am looking after other neighbours house and garden this week. At least I don't need to worry about watering anything outside :-D :-D. The poor Hanging Baskets have taken a bit of a battering though today :-( and loads of flowers have been knocked off.
News is just about to start.. What a bl**dy mess this Government is in. Boris is going to have come back from the USA and face the music now.People will be baying for him to resign
:-D

Evening all,
What a funny old day it's been ,it's tipped down and times and then out comes the sun ,this afternoon we've had thunder and lightening too. We managed to get some shopping done this morning ,got the bulb for the fridge light but we carn't screw it in so DIL is coming tomorrow her fingers are smaller than ours and she managed to get the old bulb out so she will try to get the new one in The starter has gone in the florescent light in the kitchen ,Colin tried to get it out and it popped into the casing of the light !!! so that's some thing for son to sort out ,we don't seem to be having much luck with lights at the moment .
Oh Ann not mice again how do they get in the garage ? is there any holes you could block up to stop them getting in . I know my friend had mice in her bathroom they were getting in some where and coming through the end of bath panel ,there was a tiny hole so she blocked that up using one of those pan scourers (the metal ones ) it worked as they don't like chewing on the metal .
Mel you'll have to use the smaller bed for a smaller fairy :-D it could be for a baby fairy :-D That was a lot of old Daddy Long Legs you had in ,we had one come in when i opened the door for Max to go out but i have a Daddy Long Legs catcher in Max he soon had that in his mouth :-0 yuk !! i had a big spider in the down stairs loo ,it just caught my eye as i sat there ,then blow me if there wasn't another one later on .
Hope you feel better tomorrow Frank so you can take Lewis out for a birthday meal , fingers crossed the doctor can sort you out tomorrow.
Oh AnnG it's horrible when you get so wet like that ,trousers stick to your legs and the water runs down into your shoes .
Vera the glass Church sounds nice , looking forward to seeing some photo's when you get home ,hope the weather has been better today for you than it has here .
So the Physio put you through it yesterday then Jane ,hopefully you can gradually get into doing them and will feel the benefit ,if your like Colin was the muscle needs building up and it does take a while ,even now he feels the muscle tighten some times .
