Mandy it is just me and James going to Plymouth. He can bring his laptop and do work stuff when I am otherwise engaged . Chris would have come with me it James couldn't . Booked the cottage now so all sorted. James said there is one stipulation as he will be driving.. and I am not to tell him to slow down :-S.
I just rang my friend to say I would be there to see her on the 2nd . She is not good today :-(. The thing is, things can change so quickly .Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I just really hope she is not too ill when I get to see her.I know I am going to have to take loads of deep breaths and be stoic. I really want to put it out of my mind but it's not that easy to do.
Make the most of this fantastic weather . Wall to wall sunshine still here :-D

Mel I've sent you a pic of the peel it left to see if you know what it is from? It could have been a cat skirmish and one chasing another. Last night in bed I was even wondering if it was a Muntjac. I didn't think it was a Squirrel at first as I thought they were tucked up in bed when it was dark. :-D What is a smudge fan Mel?
Mandy those lights you have sound good, especially with no fuss with wiring so thank you for mentioning them. We'll have to go and look at some as they are improving what you can get all the time and you don't realise what's available. Anything that lights up would put people off in case you have a web cam to get a view of their faces. We also need a brighter bulb in the outside light down the side. It's a thought about the leaves and feathers, but I think it would have to be a small young squirrel to be able to climb up the pipe to the filter box. Shudder......hope it isn't a rat!!!!!
Jane I hope you can get to see your friend soon. It sounds like her health could change quite quickly. Is she at home now? Are you going to see a show in London? We often find the squirrelsl bury peanuts in our pots Jane. As you say it is their busiest time of the year. lol. That sounds a better option for Christmas lunch. At that price each it would be much cheaper to buy a lot of things ready prepared to make things easier.
OH has fetched a car load of stuff from his old friends house and said his brother has found a load more for him!! He said his brother said he was beginning to despair at the amount of stuff still to clear and I looked in our garage and said ' so am I!' I just hope OH.
Most unusual for me I forgot to take my tablets this morning, but it's too long past the time to take them now, so I hope I remember in the morning. :-S

Ann send me a pic too please of the peel :-D I don't reckon it would have been a Muntjac . Could it maybe be a Fox?
My friend is at home Ann. But for how long who knows. She just did not sound good and her feet have swollen up so she thinks her Kidneys might not be working so well. It is all sh** really . Pardon my French . I have no idea what show I will be seeing in London next weekend . I am just guessing it is a show. It is all a surprise . I just want to know :-D :-D But I wont until the time. The last big surprise Hannah did for me was to go and see STOMP. We had been in Soho for a lunch and I saw an advert for the show. Said how I would love to see it and then 2 minutes later she walked me into this little theatre and it was STOMP :-D The show :-D :-D Loved it. Not everyones cup of tea but it was mine :-D

I've forwarded it to you Jane. I just sent it to Mel as she knows a lot about plants/trees.
Your poor friend, It must be awful seeing things happen to your body and not be able to stop it. I thought you were probably going to a show so I hope it is now!

Jane you will have to grit your teeth and shut your eyes when James is driving then. I do hope that your friend is having a good day when you see her.
Annx that was scary hearing the noise, sounds as if it was animals of some sort, could be a squirrel but also could be cats but the peel thing is strange. Have you thought of getting a CCTV camera?
I am sure Mandy that in the next couple of weeks you will be back to working on the bag as the weather is set to change. A pity but what a bonus the week of extra summer has been, almost as though we brought it back with us.
Was it on here that somebody asked about Alexa and how useful she is? I can take her or leave her, I have a screen on my desk it is useful for telling me the temp outside and the forecast temp, It is good if I want something to listen to and can ask her to play what I like. OH loves to get her to turn off a light in the kitchen or the radio. I find it just as easy to reach over and use the switch. I don't think we make as much use of her as we could. It is a bit like when remotes came out and we stopped having to get up out of the chair and switch the TV on. It can make you move around less which is not good for you.

Evening all
Yes, Jane my migraine has finally gone, I think being on the computer all the time with OH's tree probably triggered it off. My eyesight went a bit funny I couldn't see properly everything was blurred and at one point I could see double then the headache started and it turned into a migraine. Not being on the computer for a few days has really helped and now my vision is a lot better. I managed to finished wiring all the screening while I wasn't online, it took me a few days, rather than a few hours, but at least that big job is out of the way now and when we have good weather again I can screw it all into place, it forecast to rain over the next few days and it was far to windy to make a start today. Sorry to hear about your friend I hope you manage to visit her soon. Loved the photo's what a lovely place to visit. The group photo is one to keep.
What a shock you must of had Ann with the noise, maybe it was a fox.
Those lights sound just the trick Mandy, at least it'll give you peace of mind now.
Hope Vera has a nice time away and it goes more smoothly than her last holiday.
The necklace sounds very pretty Frank, it sounds like Lewis chose well. She was certainly spoilt wasn't she.
I like sending and receiving cards and couldn't imagine life without them, but like it's been said the younger generation tend to send good wishes via the Internet now, so as the years go by cards will soon become a thing of the past.
I'm watching the qualifying for the F1 at the moment. I love the Singapore race the track looks lovely from above being a night time one. Oh it's back on better go and watch it before I lose track of what's going on.

I do think it must have been a squirrel Ann and its a shame they take the walnuts before they are ripe in October. I did pick three off my tree last year but they whent ready and dried out to a brown mass with nothing in the caseing. If you look on the inside you can see the pattern of a walnut shell with the ridges.
Smudging is a thing pagans do to clean the house. Its a burning of amanly sage leaves tied into a bundle which is set on fire and smokes. You go around the house and fan the smoke in different rooms to clease the air I think. I'll send a pic later. This one I have made is of crows feathers.
Today I have been making a fairy sleepover set of bedding and I just have to finish the bunting. Its taken me all day to work out how to make it. It has light padding in the mattress bit and one layer in the cover. Should keep a fairy nice and warm and cosy.
Jane I do hope you can see your friend and have some time together. James driving won't be too bad I am sure. He's a good boy to take you as the drive after your hip op would'nt be good for you. So sad about Larry's mum but she is in the best place with all the help around to see she is ok to the best of their ability. 96 is a good age and she must have seen a lot of changes in her life.

Yes I think it must have been too, although it was out late in the dark. They must have a job to carry the walnut with it's casing so that's why it had stopped and got the casing off near the car. It is a shame if they take them before they are ripe, but maybe the shell is softer then if they eat any straightaway. It's a wonder they have any teeth left breaking into walnuts that are hard! lol
I had never heard of that custom so that was interesting. You have been busy today with your craft and that sounds lovely what you have made.

I'll send a pic.
I meant to say did the casing go brown? Walnuts do stain badly the skin or other things too. They used to make ink out of walnuts.

Morning AnnG, morning all
Dull and damp here to, it's forecast to rain all week, with maybe a bit of lightening later.
Nothing planned for today, so I might take another look at OH's tree, but not for to long, the last thing I want is another migraine, the last one was a killer.
Enjoy your time at the garden centre AnnG. I've not long woken up myself, so you're not the only one having a Sunday lie in. ;-)
What is everyone else up to today?

Good morning to all you lovely people. xxxx
All good here this morning. I ws in bed and asleep before 9.30 last night. I woke around midnight for the loo, and Ros was sitting watching the T.v. We just said Hi, and I was back in bed. I slept until 5.30 and was up by 6.15.
Really dreary here this morning I think the rain s on it's way from the WEST. Thanks, Mel and Gill. lol
Ros finally found the church last night, after driving up a DEAD END and a Private Drive. She could see the church but what a job getting to it. There were two choirs on duty last night. Raising funds for the local church for some restoration work. There were about 50 people there, all paying £7.00 each. So a few quid was raised.
Dinner all prepared for tonight. Roast Lamb, Roast potato's and parsnips, Cauli, Broch, Runners and carrots with a few frozen peas. (The fresh ones have gone over now). I am doing individual Yorkies for a change. I've also made her CHEESE SAUCE, !!!
Now my chores are all done, I am going to get showerd and shaved, and get back to my paper. See you all later. Have a GOOD DAY xxxx
