Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Sep 2019 19:31

Yes Mandy I had thought about aking them baby fairylings beds but shall have to see once I can get onto them again. I hav'nt touched them today with the shopping needed doing and once I start I can't leave it alone. I was later going out anyway today as I did quite a bit to the chickens this morning. banties drinker needed a good wash as it had turn a bit green inside and out.

When I left for shopping the sun was out after some showers sthis mroning and I wondered whether to take my coat but as it was warm I wnet off in a shirt and sleeveles. When I got to the chechout the lady on the till said O its pouring with rain. I had to dash to the car and stand under the boot lid but I was'nt going to take the trolly back so I was naughty and left it in the walk through bit next to the car next to me.

Poor Frank and Jane being all achey today. I hope you both feel better tomorrow at least Jane knows why she aches. I do hope you both get a good nights sleep tonight.

When I has the jack russels they would always have the daddy longlegs and spiders but now there are no catches indoors.

Jane

Jane Report 24 Sep 2019 19:39

Mandy it is my Gluteous Maximus muscle that needs strengthening (my bum LOL )
At least I have a better idea now as to how to do things right.
We all had to follow eachother around a circuit of things in th Gym and I unfortunalty was behind some poor chap who sweated buckets .It was so bad I couldn't lie on the bed thing or use pillows he had used before me as it was like a pool :-S. I kept having to call the physio point out the wet . So it was a quick mop up and ditching of pillows LOL
Next Monday I will make sure I am not following him . I did feel sorry for him as he was embarrassed . I was quite worried about him at times as he was so obese and doing all this working out I thought he might have had a heart attack :-S.

Hope you manage to get all the lights and bulbs sorted :-D. It does need nimble fingers sometimes for these awkward bulbs. Why are these things so difficult :-S :-S

That couldn't have been very pleasant being behind that chap Jane ,you'll know next time to keep an eye on where he is and either get in front or hang back a bit .

They were heavy showers Mel ,it tipped down here ,it was handy having the boot lid to shelter under we've done that at times too.

Nights are really pulling in now ,it was dark by seven tonight .

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Sep 2019 22:50

I think it was a bit later then 7 when it got dark here.

No hogs last night. Oh said he thinks they are eating all the craneflies that are coming out of the lawn. We usually get a load of starlings from the farm up hte road and they clear them up but we hav'nt even had our one starling this year.

I don't have many birds about in the garden at the mo and I don't know why. There's just the usual; pigeons and a couple of blue tits.

I meant to say when I fed the big girls the other day I bent down to put some food in the trough under the table in there and Mrs Mona Lott pecked me on my nose and drew blood. I came in and washed it and you could hardly see it but the bridge of my nose looked a bit blue. I did'nt think anymore about it but when I washed my face this morning there on the nose was a nice blue mark. Colin on the meat counter gave me a funny look and I had to explain what happened. When I went out oh said to me they will think I have given you a bash.

Morning all,

Cloudy and wet wet wet here today and a bit chilly.

Housework day today and I have a nice easy dinner tonight. Lamb chops new pots and brocc and carrots.

Last week I bought a Hovis granary loaf and it was just like eating cardboard so this week I bought a low carb seeded bread and I had a slice last night with my salad and it was quite pleasent so I would buy that one again.

Everything is all over the place, what with the error page and not being able to get to the current pages.I think GENES are getting things wrong somewhere.

GOOD MORNING ALL, Can't get to read the posts, so I will just say I hope you are all well, and I will come back later to see if I can read any postings. xxx

Frank Report 25 Sep 2019 11:29

Well I'll be blowed , just tried it again and came straight through.

We had lots of rain yesterday but this morning it's blue sky's with very little in the way of wind.

Barry wasn't able to come yesterday, so the lawns and wisteria will just have to wait. I expect he will ring to let us know when he can come again.

I have just spoken to Lewis, to wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. He will come up to see us around 3.30, when Ros will be back from the Hair Dressers, She's having her roots done today, I have a Dr appointment for 3.20. Lewis said, he won't be staying for a meal out with us, so I will cancel the table I booked at the Collingtree Pub. Better still I will just take Ros out.

Lewis is meetling up with his mates at the pub this evening early, then he thinks his M & D have something planed for him for later. GREAT, that they haven't included us in the celebration. :-( :-( :-( I was hoping he would have either, stayed with us, for a meal out, or included us in any celebrations.

Terrible night again last night. Still awake at 3.00 am then dozed and laid until 6.30 when I got up. Still ache all over my neck and shoulders, yesterday I had chest pains and my right arm went numb, which I didn't like. I will mention this to the Dr. this afternoon.

I think I will get showered and shaved, and try to relax with a bit of late breakfast, and my book.

See you all later. xxxx

Happy 21st birthday to Lewis. Shame he is not going to stay for the meal but I suppose Mum and Dad come first.

Funny weather here today, more like April with heavy but brief showers followed by sunshine. OH has gone to golf so will have got wet. I have been doing housework downstairs as we have the gardening interest group (approximately 12 of them) meeting here tomorrow.

Evening all

Bright and sunny here today so I've put all the screening up, it got a bit late so it's not quite finished. I'll sort it out another day, it only needs wiring together and a few screws here and there to hold it in place incase the wind blows it around.

Happy 21st birthday to Lewis, hope he has a nice time.

I kept getting the error page so haven't been able to read the posts. I'm just sorting dinner out, I haven't eaten all day so we're eating a bit earlier tonight. I'll try and get back on here later if Genes will let me.

SuffolkVera Report 25 Sep 2019 17:15

Happy 21st Birthday to Lewis. It’s nice that he is coming to see you Frank but a shame he isn’t eating with you. I expect his Mum and Dad want to spend time with him on his birthday. I hope your Doctor’s appointment went well and that your aches and pains are easing up a bit.

That sounds some workout you had at the physio gym Jane. You will have to try and get in front of Mr Sweaty next time. You have to feel sorry for him though, he probably felt bad about his problem. When do you go to see your friend? It will be an emotional time for you but I am sure your visit will cheer her.

Yesterday morning OH and I had a look round the indoor market and then took a bus to Gorey . After a sandwich in a pub we went to Gorey Castle. There was a lot to see there and we kept climbing up and up, there were stairs everywhere and it was very windy so we nearly got blown over. When we left the Castle we had to come down a very steep slope. The wind had blown dry sand across it and the sole of my trainer slipped on it and down I went with a wallop.so I now have a bruised arm, grazed elbow and aching leg muscles. No serious damage so it could have been worse. Good job I was wearing trousers - at least I didn’t flash my undies :-). A minute later OH’s foot also slipped on this sand but he managed to grab a rail and stay upright thank goodness.

Horrid weather today, windy and very wet. We have been to the Jersey War Tunnels. AnninG and Frank, these are
what was known as the German Underground Hospital. They have been enhanced with modern technology and are a big visitor attraction. It took a couple of hours to get round and told the story of the occupation and what went on during those 5 years. It was very interesting and there were a couple of bits here and there that did make me feel a bit emotional but I found our visit to the Occupation Tapestry more moving. We popped into a Catholic Church on the way back that had some wonderful stained glass windows.

Tomorrow we come home. Our flight isn’t till mid afternoon so we don’t have to make an early start.

Now it’s time for a shower and a drink or three before dinner :-D

Many Happy Returns to Lewis today <3 <3. Frank, I am sure he will be back again soon so you can take him out for a slap up meal.At least you have seen him on his big day today :-D Hope the Dr's appointment went well and was positive.

Crumbs Vera you had a close call there !!!!. I expect you will be aching all over tomorrow. Thank goodness you didn't break anything. OH too !!!!!!!. Safe journey home tomorrow.

It is Tuesday I go to Plymouth. I will have to call my friend soon as I am not sure how well she is right now. I have to nip out quickly now .

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 Sep 2019 18:37

O Vera that was a nasty slip and I hope you don't ache too much tomorrow. All that walking must have made your muscles ache. It seems like hubby got on ok with the walking around though and he was lucky to grab the rail. Its a shame your weather was'nt better for your visit Vera but it sounds like you have had a nice time anyway.

Gill I have had the Error Page about three times today. Glad your screening is nearly up now so thats another job out os the way.

Must start dinner as oh has just been out and seen what the time is.

HW did'nt get done today but the three fairy beds did get done. Well I just have about three inches to sew the last of the covers up then iron them and they will be done.

Annx Report 25 Sep 2019 18:38

Evening All,

<3 <3 HAPPY 21st to LEWIS <3 <3. Did he like the signet ring you got for him Frank? I had a second bad night too.......boiling hot again. I hope the doctor was able to help with your aches and pains.

Oh Jane, you could end up with a BTM like Pippa Middleton with all these exercises! :-D ;-) That sounded awful having to follow that man although he couldn't help it......yes get in front of him next time. How was Downton Abbey as we are going to see it tomorrow?

Vera, I hope you didn't wrench yourself too much with slipping and fancy your OH nearly coming a cropper too. That would have set him right back! It sounds like you have had another interesting day.

The embroidery was quite interesting this morning. We didn't have time to make anything but practised the stitches which I had mostly forgot it's that long since I did any. The teacher said they want to take down the yarn bombing but people keep saying to leave it! Some even said they should do one for Christmas as well, but it would be too big a job!

OH is out again and will be late tonight so I have been tidying more in the study and putting beads away.

The Squirrel was back again this morning and I think may have been burying spoils from the peanut feeder next door at the back of the flower beds. No chance of a photo as he didn't stay long.

We thought they'd finished the work opposite us, but they are having work done on the roof now.

Mandy, putting traps in the garage stopped many mice reaching the loft last year or two, but OH confessed a couple of the traps got smashed with him moving stuff about in the garage, so we need some more. He's put planks of wood inside at the back of the garage door this morning to stop them squeezing underneath it. He said the traps in the loft had caught two.

We had a jacket potato at a garden centre at lunch time and they have already decorated half a dozen big Christmas trees down the middle!! :-0

It's good the screening is just about done Gill. Sandra will be happy now! :-D

I was brought up on the ordinary Hovis as a child and have always had mostly brown bread although I do enjoy a french stick at times and garlic bread or Ciabatta or sourdough. Some breads aren't so good though as you say Mel. I had a weightwatchers one (trying to be good!) last week and hated the texture, yet I don't mind Nimble! I can't take to the one full of linseeds either (forgot the name.) I've nearly cracked teeth on some of the granary ones but I like the multiseed ones.

Evening all,

Happy Birthday to Lewis i hope he's enjoyed his day , at least you have got to see him today Frank and its understandable he would want to go out with his mates to celebrate his birthday .
How did the doctors appointment go ?

Oh Vera how lucky were you not to do more damage to your self than you did ,i hope your not to uncomfortable for your journey home tomorrow ,OH was lucky too if he had gone down it could well have set him back .
You would have thought they would have had a sign out saying to watch your footing i bet there's lots of people that slip , safe journey home tomorrow.

We've had another day of showers and sun shine ,i did hang some washing out as the sun was lovely and the ground had all dried out but it wasn't out for very long before down it came so in the washing came .

Son sorted out the kitchen light this morning ,he got the starter out that Colin had pushed in and just put it back in and the light came on ,not so lucky with the fridge bulb ,DIL screwed it in but the light won't come on so we're leaving it as i can see in the fridge so it's not the end of the world having no light in there .

I nipped into town between the showers this morning ,went into the bank and then boots for our tablets ,i had one more place to go and blow me i didn't take the papers i needed with me i had left them on the side in the kitchen so now i'll have to up again tomorrow or Friday ,my head will never save my legs !!!!

Gill it sounds as if you have got on well today with the screening that will be a good job done before the weather turns .

So the little beds are coming on nicely Mel ,i think i'm going to make some bedding for a pram that DIL has bought Lacey for Christmas ,she also bought her a couple of Tiny Treasures dolls a boy doll and a girl doll to go in the pram so i have bought four little outfits for the dolls for her for Christmas ,there is a Mermaid outfit and a unicorn outfit for the girl ,a Dinosaur outfit and the other one was little dungarees with a cap for the boy .

The wood might stop them Ann or they might chew through it :-D
I don't think i would remember many of the embroidery stitches now Ann only chain stitch .
There is a new craft programme starting next week , it's Thursday on channel 5 called The wonderful world of Crafting ,they are following Hobby Crafters as they show get to show their creations for the first time at a craft fair in Suffolk, so might be worth a watch .

Morning all,

Quite bright this morning but there are grey clouds in the sky but the suns shines sometimes if you know what I mean.

Forgot to put the bin out last night so I have missed the bin men for another two weeks. I shall have to take it up the top and put it in the old workshop till next time. At least its safe from the foxes in there.

Fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow last night and got up once for the loo at 20 past 4 and back to bed and slept till 5 past nine.

Frank Report 26 Sep 2019 10:49

Good morning to you all,

I waited for Ros. to get back from the hairdressers, and she took me to the Dr. When I signed in on the box thing. I was booked in with a doctor, who's name I couldn't even pronounce. I asked the receptionist WHY ?? She said Dr Henderson had called in sick. My immediate reply was, "WHY DIDN'T YOU PHONE ME". The doctor wanted to see me, rather than me her, about my blood tests. Ros could see me getting ready for a barney, so sent me to the car while she sorted it out. I have another appointment on the 3rd Oct.

Lewis was over the moon with his ring. He is going to see if he can get the "BEDFORD" coat of arms engraved on it. in miniature. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

He did offer to ring his mates and cancel their meet up to watch Football at the local pub. His M & D are taking him out either tonight, to tomorrow. He hopes to come up on Monday, so we can go for a meal then.

Glad you didn't have a nasty accident, Vera, your OH was lucky also. You would have thought the Council would put up some kind of protection, to stop the sand blowing over the path. I can see some CLAIMS COMMING. !!!! if someone is hurt by this.

So our Jane is as fit as the BUTCHERS DOG with all these excersise's, pity about following MY STINKY. Soap and water is so cheap !!!!. and a bit of deodorant wouldn't go a miss. Smelly people is something I just can't stand.

We had our usual meal last night. Ros her 5 oz steak with pepper sauce and the trimmings, while I had my Haddock chips and peas. All perfectly cooked and served with a nice smile. I had couple of pints and Ros had her Tomato Juice with ice. Home in time for her soaps, and DOC MARTIN. I was in bed before that finished.

I have put the line up, and got the basket of washing on the lawn, ready for MADAM to hang it out, when she gets back from having her nails done.

Clear blue sky's with a good drying breeze, this morning. Nothing planned for me today, apart from getting dinner and reading my book. BORING AREN'T I. lol lol

Mandy, this is always a great question, WHO PUTS THE LIGHT ON IN THE FRIDGE ?? and TURND IN OUT AGAIN> LOL LOL

We have been very lucky, we haven't had any mice in the bungalow. BUT at Gayton, the little buggers, had a nest somewhere behind the fitted fire, in the hearth. They would come out during the night, and nibble the tassles off the edge of the mat. Ros had to make some more to replace them, ONCE THEY GOT CAUGHT.

Touch wood the shower has been behaving itself. Must see when Harvey is available to fit the new one, which sits, under my computer table.

Have a safe journey to Plymouth Jane, and I hope you find your friend in reasonably good health.

See you all later. xxxx

Morning all

It Started off dull but has brightened up a bit now, although it is forecast for rain sometime today.

I've woken up more tired than when I went to bed. I had a really bad night tossing and turning so I think I'll be having a bit of a sleep later.

Sorry to hear your had a fall Vera, hope you're not to sore for your journey home. That was lucky your OH managed to grab the rail.

Oh dear Jane being behind that man, good idea to try and get in front of him next time.

The sun is still out so I might go and do a bit more of the screening to see if I can finish it before the rain arrives.
