Morning all..... my dogs used to do that, from a very early age... it used to spook me at first, as it seemed to coincide with a housemove... into this house actually... which was brand spanking new at the time... anyway, I figured maybe the could sense the woodland spirits being angry cos some of their homes had been bull dozed to make way for my house, lol And the dogs were calming them down... it carried on after we moved away, though... they must have been 5 and 6... they each lived until 14, so that was good... and as one was a lab, the other a GSD, who tend to have shorter life spans... well, they were just playing at being mysterious!! One was deaf, the other went blind... maybe that had something to do with it???

Well... I am really excited about having my hair done... how sad is that, lolol... Then H and I will have lunch, and do a little bit of gentle shopping... for paint, and wallpaper and stuff like that! I will get my camera back... they borrowed it for my sister's graduation on Thursday, and my nieces yesterday... a very proud couple of days in their household!!

Fingers crossed you'll hear better news, Ann xxx

Mamiddau... have you any white wool? You could make a pom pom for a bunny tail, lol!!

Well, better go and get some breakfast.... beans on toast, sardines on toast, or egg on toast? What do you reckon? They all make me burp, lol!! Only since the chemo, mind... strange, isn't it?

Speak later, have a lovely day everyone... the sun is shining here, for the time being, at least!!

Love

morning all!

Daff - I had thought about wool, my mam suggested cotton wool! school isn't supposed to be hard work for me.....I'm the mami!!! Ah well, she did want to go as a worm....so bunny rabbit is an improvement! mad child!

Enjoy your haircut! when H was about 2 1/2 we went to the hairdressers - her hair is really curly, its to her shoulders - when wet, but springs up into spirals, but she is desperate for long curls - anyway.....she asked the hairdresser if she could "cut it long"....she gave her a pleading look at said "please" really sweetly, poor Deb felt awful having to explain that she couldn't do that! has become a bit of a standing joke now!

BC - your dog is clearly an intellectual....put the computer on the floor and let her write her bestseller......!

have a lovely day everyone!

Taff Report 14 Jul 2009 11:45

Morning Daff and all~~,
From a (dare I say it, as I have washing on the line?)Dry Swansea! There I just temped it to rain, Mamiddau, if you have washing out, get ready to bring it in! sorry.!! I was thinking along the lines of cotton wool as well, or do one of those circles with cardboard, and cover it in wool?(do you know what I,me jibbering about?).

Daff, have a lovely hair cut, it really does suit you short, takes years off you!
If I didnt have a "sticky out ear"(only one mind you!) I would love to have mine like yours, saves all that faffing about with a bucket of conditioner!LOL.
Daff, if you must pick a hospital, will you choose Morriston please? Loads of fab looking young and fit Docs,.here..........just as a temptation, and you wouldnt have to eat their food, as I could prepare it fresh and bring it straight to you!
Love as always

long story the instruction that we have recieved has beeen too vague, about our portfolios. Half of the work we have submitted is not worded right so ,we now have to work through and reword a lot of it the completion date has been extended, nothing was explained to us so now hopefully by targeting the criteria we can produce evidence that ticks enough boxes this means I have wasted the last 6mths working at least i have the summer to do it although I did want a break
hope you are all OK

AnninGlos Report 15 Jul 2009 08:49

that is awful Maz, Who was at fault then, obviously not the candidates.

I too was wondering where Daff was, I guess she was worn out by gallivanting with her sister again!!!!

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 15 Jul 2009 10:09

Good morning! How disappointing for you Maz that you will have to keep on slogging when you thought you were home and dry! You must have been upset...tsk tsk...

Where is our Daff and was she celebrating her new haircut and is now 'resting'? lol Well I should be resting as I had a friend round to dinner and she left at 3am. I took her to get a taxi and walked my dog at the same time and was amazed (I am not often on the streets at this time!) to see the' working girls' were very busy and seemed to be doing a very good trade! I remember years ago when they were all gathered up from the streets and moved on from this area. Well as long as they don't bother me or mine:-)

Had a load of rain last night but the sun is shining now so I shall slowly get ready and do the park walk. I still haven't cleared that room for the Bulgarian (Jude: she is about 40 and sends her daughter to Cheltenham for a few weeks, while she shops in London..it's only for 3 weeks so I don't mind).

Catch you later. mwahhh! BC XX

Morning all... my hair looked fabulous, but it needed a lot of gunk to keep it all spiky and funky looking, lol... it kept wanting to go into a mohican!! He chipped right into it, and has given it lots of texture, I didn't realise how much spare hair I had to cutt off, lolol... this morning, it looks ok, but will need some *gunk* on it to get it looking like it did yesterday... but I can get it like it myself, which is often impossible to do after it's been cut, isn't it??

He has cut the front so that as it grows, I will have a slightly asymetrical fringe (?) I just hope it doesn't look like a wonky one!! He liked my colour, lololo... thought it added to the funkiness, lol!!

I felt like a million dollars!!

H picked me up... we had lunch at her gaff, and looked at the photos of hers and L's graduation ceremonies!! I was just sooooo proud of them, and my eyes leaked a bit...

Then off to do some shopping... H bought two lovely plants... I chose them for specific spots in her garden... she then handed them to me and said they were an extra birthday prezzie, lol.... she has really spoiled me while I've been ill!!

We went into Leekes in Llantrisant... I was inspired!! I saw a throw, exactly the right colour... but it would be too small... I have looked at flooring for the lounge... why don't I gravitate towards cheap? Or even middle? Always go for the expensive stuff!! Then have to lower my sights!!

Saw some fantabulous rugs, at equally fantabulous prices!! They have taken bits of a couple of Klimmt paintings... the edge of a gown, the background etc... and turned them into beautiful rich, colourful rugs... I was absolutely taken with them.,..... when I win the lottery, I shall have them scattered throughout my mansion, lolol

I didn't buy a thing, but have priced up everything I want, for all the rooms I need to do... I can then work out priority over cost, lol!!

Today, I have to do some serious swearing, lol... that will then give me licence to play for the next six months, lol... I am going to start scrapbooking (I have most of the stuff I need, now!) will finish the patchwork quilt I started in 1991, lol, find the connection between my ancestor and the First Fleet convict... well, I hope they are one and the same,..... and then I shall start my book in the quiet spells!! I have a synopsis... well, sort of one.... it does tend to alter a little... it began to get a bit far-fetched, at one stage!! Oh, and I don't think I could look a handsome young doc in the eye after, erm, well, *winking* at him, wmsl!!

Mamiddau... a worm???? I did go as a tube of glue once... oh, and I was an adult!!

Taff... much as I would love your homecooked food, Morriston is a wee bit too far... Royal Gwent is where I shall be going!! R will smuggle me some food in!! I haven't met the doctors there, yet, well, only one... she was very nice, but erm, well, she was a she, lol

Well, the sun is shining here..... must go and wave some washing at the line.... and maybe allow myself to be sidetracked into some dead-heading, lolol!

Maz, that is dreadful... your assessor needs to be re-assessed, by the sound of it! What do you have to re-do? Is it cos you weren't able to fill in all the evidences? Did you do it on the computer? You may be able to add stuff to what you already have written, rather than re-doing the whole lot... that is a bit grim, to say the least.

BC..... 3am???? I'd have been on my chinstraps, lol And we thought there was a recession? lolol.... obviously not!! Well, not in some trades, anyway!!

~~~~~~~ waves to Ann xxx
I am definitely, or almost certainly, well, I might, off to do some really bad swearing!!
Love
well our portfolios are done properly we have referenced in colour code s thats wrong and we have not understood the difference between knowledge and evidence the tutor is to blame i think my assessor is on line all summer so i will have to look at it alli and reword it also get some witnesses and signature si have never done an NVQ before so its all new
.most of it is on here I am going to have a few days off and then start again i was ready to walk out but I hope some can be salvaged
Hi Mamiddau, sounds like she will be a cute bunny bless her.
Maz, Don't give up, I am sure if you are stuck somebody on here may be able to give advice if you can't get hold of anyone. Sounds like your tutor has not been very helpful if she/he didn't point out the difference between knowledge and evidence. Keep going, I am sure you can sort it out.
Afternoon each!!!
My word you have all been busy-beesm havent you?
Sorry to hear about your NVQ Maz - can I tread on the inspector for you? )))) believe me he/she will know they have been trod on!
BC - whatever were you doing until 3.00 am? - dont answer that on the grounds that it may incriminate you! )))
Haircut sounds well good Daff - bit similar to mine actually. My hairdresser recommended a stuff called FLUBBER! Well make it and its for trade only (but h/dressers can get it at the wholesalers it costs about £7.00) It's wonderful stuff - just run a very small amount down the inside index finger, rub hands together and them sort of ruffle through your hair! hey presto - job done!!! great stuff, even I can manage it!
It's taken me ages to type this, cos had a visitor in between - lol
Hope everyone is OK.
Bi for now
Maz... Knowledge is what you have... what you know... evidence is showing or proving to someone else that you know it... a sort ** I know this, because I... and then go on to explain the task that you are evidencing
In my case the knowledge I am asked to prove is... well, let's take health and safety..... Why use separate chopping boards for the various foodstuffs... you would explain.. or show to your assessor... that you know what each board is used for, the correct storage, cleaning etc etc.. and why they need to be used, ie raw meat and salad stuff!!
Your course is a bit different to mine, but I am happy to give you some general pointers... Health and Safety, for instance!! I have a level 3 certificate in it!! For my sins!!
Lol Jac.... that sounds like good stuff!! Flubber! I'll remember it, next time I'm there.
Aw bless, Mamiddau... she'll be the cutest little bunnie ever!
~~~~to Ann

I have shampooed the lounge carpet... it does look a little bit better... I used some Vanish on it as well... if it disintegrates, well, I'm having wood flooring next time, lol... and I shall save up for one of those rugs!!

I wanted wood floor in the first place... R wanted carpet, though....... it is so frustrating as it has only been down 2 years... mind, it's cream!!

Daff, cream carpet +cats??????? Nooo!

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 15 Jul 2009 16:56

wmsl Ann... yep, I did!! Even banana stained it!! Red wine comes out a treat... muddy cat paw prints don't...... oh, nor does ribena, totally, and the sole of R's slippers have a lot to answer for... it was expensive, too... but the cream carpets in two of the bedrooms stay absolutely pristine!! Marks come out with a dab of vinegar or soda, and water..... and they were cheap as chips!

I have two cream sofas as well...... I have had them for 8 years now, and they are looking quite drab and sorry for themselves. The cushions all wash up lovely in the machine, but the base doesn't clean up well at all....

Oh, and when we bought that, we had two dogs, 5 cats and a son at home, lolol Asking for trouble, weren't we??

Maz, once you get going again, it'll be fine, I'm sure... don't forget to ask or pm me if you think I can help... I won't know the expected layout of yours... different discipline... but I will be able to help with reviewing any questions and answers you are uncertain about.... good luck!

Love
