good morning BC and Joy, sneaking in here for a breather, in the middle of a much needed late spring clean for our bedroom instead of the usual lick and a promise. Where do cobwebs come from when you don't see any spiders???? Anyway, i am nearly beginning to feel virtuous but not finished yet. Then I have promised myself to do the rest of the house!!!!

Morning everyone!!

~~~~~~ to Joy.... how are you?
Hiya BC.... giggled at your wee dog being confused, lolol I had a lie in this morning, as well... took the mega strong painkillers at 1am... that is me out for the count, lol... I don't even remember R getting up and going to work!!
Morning Ann... you doing anything nice today?? Apart from the washing, which is a chore, so doesn't come under *nice* does it?? First thing R said when he saw the price of the blinds in the Range, was T said they only paid £100 from e-bay.... lolol
Lol Jean... I tend to be a bit of a compulsive and impulsive personality, as well, so there is no hope for me... I dug out the craft box I always keep... well, it's for the kiddies, really, but they do need supervising, lol... I love doing sticky, mucky craft stuff with them... have some of their creations on my fridge door, lol I have some fabulous brightly coloured feathers........ wonder where I can use them!!
Mamiddau, that is ok... you didn't hijack the thread at all... that's what we are all here for.... a bit of support, a bit of fun, just to chat about the weather.. whatever. You take care.
Now, what do I want to do today?? It is bucketing down, so no gardening... don't really fancy shampooing the carpet........ I fancy going out for a drive, but can do that tomorrow... I am having my first haircut since last August, tomorrow, and then lunch with my sister, H... I shall miss her when she starts her new job, although she hasn't had her start date yet.... We have compromised, R and I... over the bedroom decor..... we will go with ivory on the walls, and then chuck a peacock bedspread... we have gold lamps, and old gold satin lampshades already.. the carpet is cream.....
I have been told that I can clean my lounge carpet with bleach... think I'll go and try it!!!
Love
what neat bleach Daff? Wouldn't think so!
No not doing anything exciting, almost finished cleaning the bedroom now T has come in from golf and luckily i had taken the washing in off the line because it is spattering with rain here. will just potter this afternoon i reckon.
lol Ann... it does seem a bit extreme, doesn't it? Well, seeing as it is on my list of things to change by Christmas, I'll test an inconspicuous spot, lol..... I think I'll dilute, though... it'll stink, otherwise!!
I am going to mooch today, lol... can't bring myself to do anything constructive, lol!!
Jean, the postie has just delivered a parcel of magazines... thank you so much... so, my prayers and exhortations for some inspiration as to how to spend my day have been answered... I am of to read through them, lol!!
Love
*pictures Daff all curled up in bed reading her magazines and Ann swiping cobwebs with pink feather duster and everyone else busy busy and oh yes Jude with her lovely two boiled eggs. My Dad always took the top and gave it to me:-)
Well I went out for petunias and ended up with a Bougainvillea which I have always wanted but was too chicken to get...so I have taken a gamble and will molly coddle it during the winter....lol....it is a deep brassy pink instead of scarlet which I wanted, but I grabbed it anyway.
A HUGE plant has emerged on my patio with leaves about 5ins dia..no sign of a flower but loads of leaves...wonder what it is?
Jude, I got the fish tattoo and it is healing nicely and looking good. I will send you a photo when the swelling goes down...hehehe.....
Hoe you are all doing things which please you today:-))
Oh yes BC cleaning the bedroom pleased me enormously *tongue firmly in cheek*
Actually i feel quite virtuous now it is done. just got one or two drawers in there to clear out when i an find a moment.
Love Bougainvillae but never been brave enough to risk it.
My Mum always told me how when she was young and they were very poor the only egg she ever had was the top of her Dad's or brother's (the working men). That has always stuck with me as a measure of how poor they were. However, she also told the story of how she used to have to go to the off licence for her dad's beer. strange they could afford that!!!!
mamiddau Report 13 Jul 2009 18:37
Hi all!
Jude - we looked into fairford, but decided we really cannot afford it, although the show was fab, the plane all came to us "in the air", so OH wanted to show H planes taking off etc....at least that was his excuse!!! say Hi to your lovely hubby from me!
thanks Daff, and everyone! hope you are all well!
me and H went into the range after school today, got some bits and pieces for H to make a scrapbook, was also looking for some offcuts of material....need fluffy material to make a bunny rabbits tail, (we already have the ears.....!!!) for a school party on Thursday - they didn't have any......so am going to be on a fluffy material hunt tomorrow.....any suggestions gratefully received!!!! oh.....BC....you can borrow H's rabbit ears if you like.....am sure you'd make a very fetching rabbit.....!
Thank you for asking; sad and tired. One of our best friends died and another close friend died recently, both totally suddenly, terrible shock for their families.
MrDaff Report 13 Jul 2009 19:19
Hiya Joy... that is so sad, I am really sorry... it is bad enough when expected, but the shock must be enormous when it is out of the blue like that.... my condolences to all thir loved ones, yourself included.
Well, I have had a very good day... busy doing nothing.... searching through cupboards and drawers, sitting in bed reading magazines, flitting around the boards.... basically being a bit of a butterfly!!... BC, I fell asleep!! Thunder woke me......
I am off to bed proper, now... avopiding stuff is more exhausting than doing stuff, lol... tomorrow I am having my hair cut.... just a bit of a trim on the sides and a tidy up at the back... cut around my ears... it has grown back just as thick and strong... but softer and less wiry... but it needs to be tamed a little, now.
See you all tomorrow.
ButtercupFields Report 14 Jul 2009 08:30
Morning Daff and all and sorry to hear of your loss, Joy. Sudden death is just awful . I still feel intense grief over my younger brother's sudden death last year, it gives more questions than answers. Also hoping Ann's DIL's father is on the mend..
Anyway on to less sombre news, the sun is shining and the sky is bright blue. The flowers I planted (and the Bougainvillea..fingers crossed!) all look perky and pinky. Just had my strong coffee and scrambled eggs...mmmmm....
I think my dog may be going a bit senile. I keep finding her in my bedroom and under the stairs...just standing and staring into space...eeeeekkkk....She is only eleven this year, surely that's too young? Or maybe she is just pondering on the mysteries of her Dog Universe?.. Yes, I think that's what she is doing:-)
Off to the park, enjoy your hair cut Daff:-))
Good morning all, a bit grey looking here this morning, looks like it might rain later.
Not heard any more about DiL's Dad, hopefully son will let me know any news later on.
Just heard from my sister that she is not now coming to stay as she is not well enough - she has fibromyalgia and seems to be going through a bad patch with her legs. She wasn't due until 27th but she didn't want me to get extra food in. so at least that clears on obstacle if we need to go to look after the grandchildren later, son is able to work from home this week anyway.
daff enjoy your haircut.
BC doggie is just trying to find a quiet place to have a think I am sure!!
