Well I had my parting on the left side always after having a ponytail for years as a child. It was just natural to comb my hair to right side finge and all. Even oh said I should not part my hair on the boys side. I don't care I still plait my hair on the right side for bed.

Good morning all, A bright FROSTY MORNING HERE.

Slept quite well last night, in fact I turned over nd didn't get up until 9.00 sm. All showered and dressed. On my 2nd COT while I am on here.

Rod has to pop out to either ALDI or the other cheap shop for a paper shredder . Matinee advised her last night that they have them in stock.

Martine also recommended a new Chinese takeaway/Delivery. I rang them with my order, explaining I had been recommended, and expected excellent service. The meal was with us within the hour, and was far better than our usual one. So their number its in our phone book for future reference. I had King Prawns HONG KONG STYLE. They were GREAT and you couldn't have got another prawn in the container. So will certainly use again.

Roast beef for dinner today, I can here the fridge warning noise, so Ros must be out there getting the Veg done. I will make the Yorkshire snd Cheese sauce a little later.
I hope you all have a nice day, whatever you might be doing. xxxx

Morning Frank and all,

We don't have a nice frosty morning just miserable grey sky and a very wet looking garden but I don't think it is raining so thats good. Not been out there yet.

Had a sneezing fit before going to bed last night and the other night so hope I hav,nt caught another cold. And where do I catch these colds from if I only go out to the hsop once a week and stay away from people thats what I'd like to know. They say you can'nt catch cold from getting cold only from another person.

Morning all,

We have lovely sunshine this morning after a very frosty start to the day.

AnnG that's good you now the have family there with you to help you get things sorted although I suppose you can't do much over the weekend .

Sounds as if you enjoyed your takeaway last night Frank with good portions too .
You sound a lot cherpier now in your posts ,have the panic attacks eased off now .

Mel I hope your not in for a cold with all the sneezing .

Son has just dropped off a bag at the door with some cereal for Colin DIL had been to Lidls and picked up a couple of boxes ,he rang to say they were on the step ,I had to smile he said your care package is on the step .

I never had hair long enough to plait when I was little it was always a bob type style with a fringe and a bow pinned in on the side.

Lazy day here as usual on a Sunday ,fire is lit and this afternoon we'll find a nice film or mid summer murders to watch .

Hi Mnady cna I have some of your sunshine please as its pouring down here now and the breeze is extremly chilly.

Anng good nights sleep makes all the difference and now you have someone with you to help sort things out tomorrow. Sending a (((hug))) and love. <3

I typed all that and when I looked up there wasd nothing there as I had hit something and something came up which stopped the typing coming out. Can't touch type on this keyboard as I keep hitting other keys asd they are so close together. The space bar is much shorter than my last keyboard too. Wish he had.nt bought it for me and installed it. Loved my old one but when he uses my pc he could'nt use my old one very well. Hey ho on we go........

We are just back home after getting the shredder and taking some flowers round ro Martine. It's a bitter cold day out there. While Ros was in Aldi I sat and froze to death. On the way home we saw quite a few walkers our with their dogs. The little ones all had coats on. Also a lot of runners about, many in SHORTS. Their legs must be frozen.

Yes Mandy, I am pleased to say I am not getting these PANIC ATTACTS and haven't had them for some time.

AnnG, it is always a difficult time trying to sort everything out. I wish you the very best of luck. xxx

Mel, There is nothing worse than picking up a cold from you don't know who, or where. Stay warm and drink plenty of hot drinks. I wish you better soon.

I am going to have a HOT DRINK, and get my book and sit in the conservatory and have a read. I only have a couple of chapters left. I have at least six other books to choose from, so won't get bored.

Enjoy your Sunday afternoon, whatever you might be doing. If going out wrap up warm. xxxx

Afternoon All,

I slept well too and we have a bright if not sunny day. Wipe down later and I'm not happy as the y are only sending 4pts of milk instead of 12 pts. The one they are sending is a sub which I don't mind, but on their site there is no shortage of other milk so why not send the rest??? :-S Nine subs altogether.

Sorry Mel, my hair was always parted on the right too. I told you wrong as looking at a photo it becomes the left side! lol. I recognise my mum having some of those shaped curlers in the photo you sent too. I remember having a plastic set in a box that had hard spikes all round that were really uncomfortable. Mum made me have a perm when I was about 12 and I hated it and couldn't wait for it to grow out. Mandy I had a basin cut aged 5 for school and had it swept to the side with slides and a ribbon bow. I hated how mum would lick a finger to coax it into place! Maybe you picked a cold bug up from the shop door or what you bought Mel or cash if you use it. I expect you use sanitiser when you go out though. Are you sure it's a cold though? We keep sneezing but it comes to nothing so I think it may be the dust and that a good clean is needed!

Island I just looked and my school photo aged 7 has one plait in front the other behind! I must have been undecided that day. :-D

It's good you had a good sleep AnnG and that your daughter can start to help you plan what's to be done. It's made me think we should sort what each other want for our funerals to reduce the burden for the other and include the 2 photos we'd like and what music. We've told each other that we don't mind what the other arranges, but it would save the other having to make the decisions. Not a pleasant task, but once done it gives more peace of mind.

That's good the panic attacks have stopped now Frank, just stay calm about everything from now on! It's good you enjoyed your takeaway and have found a new good place.

Does anyone else have an OH who hovers around in the kitchen when you are dishing up? Not only that he keeps diving in and grabbing bits off his plate so when you go back to his plate with the next thing you think you haven't given him as much as you thought? He got a flea in his ear (yes another) today and he tried to tell me I was CONTROLLING and what did it matter. MISTAKE! I said how would he like me hovering over him when he was working and deleting the odd word as he was typing so he didn't know whether he was coming or going. He opened his mouth to protest and thought better of it and made himself scarce. Honestly it's like having a 5 year old under your feet sometimes. :-)

He's just brought me a little Penguin bar he's had stashed away in his wardrobe and a tiny sip of his Spitfire Beer and gone to watch some footie. I'm sorting what I need to do for tomorrow's course next.

Ah trying to sweeten you up Ann

Not only do we have to organise the funeral, the movement of Tony from Cirencester to Churchdown, we also have do all the other admin when forms etc are available. meanwhile we are in his office which is more of a workroom where he fixed mobile phones two largish sets of plastic drawers all filled with electrical bit and oddments. We also are falling over the two zimmers, toilet stand perching stool etc until we can fine out what is to be done with them.None of which he used. I hate throwing things so soon but it is not as if he only left the house a few days ago, I have spent almost three months tripping over things and daughter can take stuff back with her for Grandson to use and I think she might take the laptop back for Inara as she has not got one for school work.
tomorrow all the admin work starts so we have, up until now been resting a bit.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Jan 2021 16:43

Ann perhaps G used to do that with his mum so she would put more on his plate? or perhaps he could'nt do it with his mum so thinks he'll have a go at doing it to you. Over the last couple of days oh has been giving my a sherry glass with his spitfire beer in!!! I love it but if I should drink a pint I get a headache. I do love the smell of beer though and when I lived in Redbridge I had a peonie in the garden that smelled just like beer and I would stand smelling it for ages. You'd get a whaft as you walked by it.

I got some sausages out of the freezer and some pastry but oh took one look at it and said he did'nt want those so they have gone in the fridge for tomorrow.

I have just corned the chickens and its really bitter out there as Frank would say BRASS MONKEY weather came in and I had forgotten to put the recyling out so had to go out again and up the top to do that.

Think a nice COC and a cake are in order now.

Annx

Annx Report 31 Jan 2021 18:48

He's just greedy Mel, making sure he gets plenty. Woe betide anyone who gets between him and his food. :-) I like the Spitfire too, but only have a little taste as I shouldn't have alcohol. I do have a trifle with sherry in occasionally. I used to love that Black Sheep beer, especially the strong one called Rigwelter I think? We visited the brewery is Yorkshire many years ago.

Could you ring the place the stuff all came from AnnG to see if they want to collect it? You will feel better once you start on some of the tasks tomorrow.

Well we got substituted milk but they sent all 12 pints after all and only charged for 4 so I was more than happy with that!! They charged for bags but didn't use any so that was a nuisance with all the bending and carrying for the wipe down.

I see poor Captain Tom is in hospital with Pneumonia and covid poor chap. I hope he will be ok. I wonder how he got it as he lives with his daughter. It is a shame to get to that age and when you most likely need to live in a home or with family where there is more risk.

Ann I have one that hovers too :-D and if I happen to drop a little bit before it gets to the plate he's on it ,what with him one side and Max the other I can hardly turn
round :-D

AnnG when they dropped all the equipment off did they give you a paper ,it should have a number to ring when they are not needed and they will arrange a time to come and collect them , if not has any of the equipment got a label on with a number to ring ,when Colin had some bits when he had his hip done he had a paper with the number on .

Yes I saw about Captain Tom poor chap I hope he can get over it at his great age .

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Jan 2021 20:07

I hope Tom can get over the corvid too as he had done so much for others with all those laps he walked. I am so pleased he got his knighthood too.

When I lived in Suffolk I had a cat who whenever I started peeling the potatoes would appear from nowhere and sit by me looking up and then climbing up my leg till I gave her a piece of the peeling. She would eat about three pieces at least. She also like cucumber and would do the same. The dogs liked carrot but never asked me for it. Dear old Tessy i missed that little cat.

When mum died I had a raised toilet seat and a commode. I think the doctor arrange to have them taken back I can't quite remember.

Annx

Annx Report 31 Jan 2021 20:40

Oh Mandy you have double trouble with Max hovering as well! :-D lol. I have since threatened to put a 'Keep a 2 metre distance' sign up in the Kitchen!

Fancy your cat liking potato peelings Mel. The cucumber is strange too, but I had a cat who got on the worktop once and had a good gnaw at a half cucumber I left on there. I only left it because I never dreamt he would be interested in it.

Off to watch DOI I recorded now. Hope everyone has a good sleep.

I think each county is different and Lyn has found a number to phone tomorrow, everything has a label but no phone numbers.

She did shift a lot of junk today you have never seen so many screws, tiny screw drivers old batteries phones, chargers, dead pens, bits of wire in your life.
And there is more left to do.
We have lists of lists but we are getting there. Just have to start on the official stuff tomorrow. Lyn will be making lots of calls.

Pinch punch and all that and good morning grey and dry here and 2 degrees. At least that is a step towards spring.

Can't think I will be on here much today as there is a lot to do but will try and update later.
