Afternoon all ,

Nice bright day here and not so cold .

Mel that was a nice little win ,even though you've paid over the years its still nice to get a surprise like that .

Gill it sounds as if Sandra has a mind of her own and is just doing what she likes now since she had her time away ,does she think this will help her to get a place of her own quicker ,does she have a social worker ? maybe you could have a word with them and they could have talk to her about moving about ,i hope she settles ok .

Not a lot going on here just doing the usual things in the way of house work ,how nice it would be just to sit by the sea and hear the waves on the stones at Sheringham ,it's going to be quite a while before that happens .

Mel yes it was a nice surprise. Mandy oh yes, how I would love to be beside the sea somewhere. Very wet on the ground here, 10 degrees but feels colder because it is quite dark, even though not raining at the moment. I think it must have rained over night looking at the puddles.

Evening All,

Well our snow has all gone now. I slept well and was up in good time for my art course. The teacher was telling me before class started that her dog (Spaniel/Poodle cross) catches birds, usually fledglings......and swallows them!!!! :-0 :-0.

I bet your hair feels much better now Mel! Careful with your arm though. Well done on getting that nice little win. It makes my day when ERNIE shells out a small prize. You feel chuffed don't you.

Sandra sounds like a bit of a handful now Gill. It's good her friend has a husband and I hope the move works out for her. Did you get carer's allowance again when she moved back? If so it means you will lose it again. More things for you to sort out again too, more notifying and paperwork. :-S Your mum is like so many others about flouting the rules isn't she. She was lucky she seems to have just had a mild dose of the virus.but should have stayed at home as she would have been spreading it.

Another branch of he Research Unit is doing a few zoom meetings/talks in Feb and March and I might join one of them. They are usually held at Loughborough University and I haven't been interested before because I expected there could be a good walk in the huge building. It's a good chance to take part without having to go there!

Frank, Mel and AnnG you are all making my mouth water as I have had one of my 'cut back on eating' days today when OH sorts himself out foodwise. I am hungry now, but there are no biccies, cake, or any goodies to tempt me. Sorry you had a terrible night Frank and I hope it means you have a good one tonight. What is Ros making/doing with the half sovereigns and mounts.......necklaces?

'We do like to be beside the seaside' Mandy. Oh yes! those seaside F&C will be delicious and so nice to see a beach and the sea lapping! We'll really appreciate it once we can go again, but the world and his wife could well be thinking the same!!

The Police had to break up a brawl that started with a snowball fight on one of the city parks. What are people thinking with what's going on at the moment?

AnninGlos Report 27 Jan 2021 20:37

Annx what was the lesson today?

Can you sleep ok if you are hungry? I know I can’t.

Daughter eventually got a call back from the nurse, she had called earlier and he was busy. She said unfortunately it was the dozy one. So all we got was no change, still not eating and still refusing tablets but ok with morphine patches. Looks like this stage could go on a while.

Annx Report 27 Jan 2021 21:36

It was the Yorkshire Landscapes in Pen and wash course today AnnG. Monday is Flora and Fauna. Today's could have fit either course as we painted a sheep on the Yorkshire Moors. :-) I had an apple and a yoghurt in the end so should be ok now! Are they still feeding T by drip as he isn't eating and what are the tablets for that he is refusing? Do you know? It isn't very satisfactory communication is it. :-S

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Jan 2021 22:00

I don’t actually know but the last time daughter spoke to the sister they had taken him of the liquids, he has never been fed food, he has normal soft meals but only eats little of them. The pills could be pain killers but they give him the patches, there may be other pills for other thing but we have not been told. Given the several things wrong we have not ever really been told what they are or are not treating. Presumably his back and his lung cancer are the main things that are weakening.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Jan 2021 22:19

At least you have heard something today Anng but it souonds like there's no change. As long as he is comfy I suppose thats all you can hope for. Sending you a (((hug))).

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 28 Jan 2021 09:00

Thanks Mel for the hug.

Good morning all 11 degrees here at the moment, quite still and very grey but not raining.

I think T is going to remain as he is for a while, he seems happy to be sleeping all day and is not intending to do anything to improve how he is, not because he doesn't want to but because he knows he is unable to. The cancer is making him weak and the enlarged prostate and the Hernia make it painful to move around if he tries to walk. We are wondering how long they will tolerate him taking up a bed before they insist he is moved to a residential nursing home.

As usual, no plans for today, I ought to make myself go out for a walk sometime, I have not been out for about a week.

Just feeling annoyed on behalf of my youngest Grandson (23). He had accepted a teacing English to foreign students in a university in Sweden job way back at the beginning of the year. Had virtual interviews etc. and was in the process of acquiring his visa having paid a rent deposit. He has just found out it was all a scam. Fortunately all he seems to have lost is the rent deposit.

Frank Report 28 Jan 2021 11:31

Good morning fair maidens. We had rain during the night, and everywhere is DRAB and it doesn't look like improving during the day.

Had a good nights sleep, from 11.00 pm till 7.00 am Ros slept till 9.00. I had already showered and shaved, by the time she came out.

She has a hospital appointment for 1.30 pm today, so I will go with her and stay in the car with my book. It will be a bit of company for her.

Either Lamb shanks or lasagne for tonight. We will decide when we get back from hospital.

I trust you are all well, as we are,I am pleased to say.

I am bidding on half sovereigns to replace the ones damaged in the paper shredder .They are still making good money. I will now need to see how much I can get for the damaged ones (SCRAP GOLD)

Time for a coffee, so take care and stay SAFE. xxxx

Morning Anng and all,

O what nasty people to do that to a young person. Has it been reported to the police or whoever you report these things to? I hope he did'nt lose too much money poor chap.

Another grey day but a bit brighter than yesterday if thats possible and 12 degrees out there.

I must canccel my standing order with HOmeserve today as its gone up so much overthe past years I have done it with the bank and now I have to tell the firm.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Jan 2021 13:07

Just had a call from the doctors for my covid jab but they won't do oh at the same time unless he gets a vunerable letter before my apponitment which is a week on Friday.

AnninGlos Report 28 Jan 2021 13:16

Mel he said the police are dealing with it and the university are aware. As it was a Swedish university I assume it is the Swedish police.

I presume it was just a holding amount for the rent. Fortunately they are reasonably well off so no doubt Dad (our son) will sub him.
The mail thing is the disappointment as it sounded such a good job and easy to be misled as he has done similar jobs in Germany, Spain and Guatemala. And was due to go to China a year ago.

At the moment he teaches on line English to foreign students in this country.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Jan 2021 14:40

He is keeping busy then. I hope there is a good outcome to this situation for him.

I have one of those little iris's out onthe patio in a pot with other things and another bud ready to burst.
