They are pretty Mel, I must go out and have a look round the garden. I did walk down the road with some craft bits I didn't want, for the lady who collects stuff for various charity shops.

Just sent out a few photos.

Annx thanks for photos, as I said to you I like the sheep and I like the colours on theis one. I think both paintings are good but the daffodils for me is a bit too 'blue' and makes me feel cold. a question of personal preference I think.

Love the photo's AnnG, we haven't got any flowers out at the moment. Our garden looks it's best in the spring.

Another lovely painting Ann, you are so clever.

How lovely to win £25 Mel, I bet that was a surprise.

I've had a call off Sandra, she was using her friend's husband's phone as she's put her's in a shop to be repaired and won't get it back until tomorrow afternoon. At least it's getting fixed. Mum rang me today Sandra hadn't told her she'd moved out so it was left to me to explain things after my sister told mum, so I've let Sandra know, she said she'd ring her gran when she gets her phone back. She hasn't told OH's mum either, although OH's brother knows so I should imagine her nan will know by now.

Just sent a pic or two of the frost on my car the other day and my iris thas out on the patio. Same one as Anng's. Iris reticulata Harmony I think.

SuffolkVera Report 28 Jan 2021 18:40

It's been a couple of busy days so I didn't manage to post yesterday and this will be a brief post (well, brief for me!). I have just read all the posts from the last two days so I am up to date with your news but don't have time to respond to it all at the moment.

Yesterday various jobs got done but mostly it was phone calls and emails going back and forth between brother's partner and myself to arrange the order of service for his funeral. My brother had made his wishes known in his last few days but we had to sort the order of everything and find the two photos we wanted to use and then double check printing proofs etc. That's now all sorted.

This morning I had the opticians and yes, I need new glasses. I picked a pair that weren't too expensive but because of the type of lens I have to have it still worked out over £600. I get a 25% over-60s discount so it ended up just over £450. I still have to get sunglasses made up. I usually get them at the same time and make use of a half price offer on those but when I moaned at the cost they said they will hold the half price offer for three months for me, so I'll get them in a few weeks time.

Going to look at my emails now as I see I have one from each of the Anns. Sleep well tonight everyone. "See" you tomorrow.

Its a good job well done Vera getting the service sorted out. Well done you.

I hope you can get some sleep tonight. Stay safe. A gentle ((hug )) for you too. <3

love the pics you sent Mel, the one of the frost on your car looks like trees.

AnninGlos Report 28 Jan 2021 22:23

Gosh a busy and expensive day Vera. I had new glasses october but they were never fitted properly and I haven't bothered to get them sorted out. I had just had the op on my face when they were fitted which is why they were not done properly as I still had stitches and a face mask on. anyway, they are not as good for some reason as my old glasses so I am still wearing those. Now, if it was not for all the restrictions, I would probably have called in and got them adjusted but I can never hear the receptionist on the phone so have not felt up to facing making an appointment.

Evening All,

I was sure I had posted earlier, but it obviously went into the ether!

I had a good night again but twisted my knee a bit getting round OH to get in the shower so have had a funny walk all day. I hope it's better tomorrow for walking to the vaccination place. OH was rather hoping they would do him at the same time, but if they said your OH wouldn't be done without a letter Mel, they won't do OH.

What a horrid thing to happen to your grandson AnnG. How did he find out he'd been scammed? I know Gloria Hunniford was saying about online interview scams recently on that morning programme. (the name has slipped my mind).

Oh I remember about Ros's bracelet and the shredder now Frank. What a shame the ruined sovereigns will have to be sold for scrap value.

That's good to have got the funeral and service all sorted now Vera. Yikes, aren't new glasses pricey! Good they are keeping the offer open for you for 3 months. OH still hasn't been to choose his yet. I should have gone a few weeks ago for a checkup but after OH having to go twice and it taking the trainee 3 hours each time I thought I'd wait till after my vaccine.

I love your frosty pics Mel. You had a really sharp frost to do all those patterns.

Off to bed now as I need to be up before 7.00am tomorrow!

AnninGlos Report 29 Jan 2021 08:42

Good morning all from a wet Glos. Hope it is not wet where you are Ann or you will have had a wet walk. You should have been stabbed by now and hopefully if you had to wait fifteen minutes that will almost be done as well.

Slept reasonably well last night once I got to sleep. Which took me a couple of hours, about 0130 before I dropped off.

I am not sure where grandson found out about the scam, it may have been from the university, I will have to ask him.

Morning all,

Nice and bright here there was just a few spots of rain first thing but didn't really wet the ground .

Hope your jab was OK this morning Ann and they didn't keep you waiting about ,love the latest paintings ,you'll soon need more paint at the rate your going :-)

AnnG that was an awful thing to happen to your grandson that goodness he found out before more money was parted with and he had flown out there .
Lovely to see the pretty flowers in your garden ,spring is on its way .

Mel the frost patterns are so pretty we never seem to get anything like that on ours I wonder what makes them for like that on yours ,pretty iris in the pot too.

Goodness Vera you'll soon need to take out a mortgage when you buy glasses ,as my dad use to say good job I saved up when I was young .

Hope you've managed to find some sovereigns Frank ,I don't think Rose will wear a bracelet again when she's shredding will she .

Just had a good clean up in the log basket all the bits fall through the basket sides ,I do stand it on one of the puppy pads we had for Max so that saves the carpet carpet a bit .

I might just walk up to the market and get a crab for lunch but only if there's no queue .

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Jan 2021 09:48

Morning Anng and Mandy and all,

Same as yesterday here just dull and very streary and wet. We have a lake at the side of the chicken run again and its been there three days now.

Arms still a bit achey and I hope its ok for my jab next Friday. Hope it dos'nt make my arm worse. I only sleep on my right side so don't wnat to have it in that arm.

Mandy I think that was the first time we had the fern patterns on the car windows that really showed up as other times they have been frozen it was just sort of all over.

You could try one of Max's mats in the bottom of the log basket or try to line it with a bin liner or material or would one of those dumpy dumpers fit inside?

We have the four deer up the garden today but I can't get a picture through the window as there all rain drops on them.

Good you had a better Knight's sleep Anng. Did you see what I said there?

Must get on things to do.

Frank

Frank Report 29 Jan 2021 10:35

Good morning all, Nothing sort of day here again.

We're off to Town a bit later. Martine rang to say that ALDI have some Paper Shreader's in stock, so we will go and get one. The other one that ate the bracelet was ruined by me getting her bracelet out.

When we put the oven on last night a bright light showed in the back of the oven. I think the heating element must have touched the inner liner. So it might well mean a new COOKER. (double oven) I will ring Harvey to check if he has a TRADE A/C with a supplier. That way we might be able to save some money.

I hope you are all well, apart from going to Aldi and Tesco. we won't be going anywhere today, or doing anything.

Lamb shanks for dinner tonight. I did myself a BACON SARNIE this morning, and threw more than half of it away (NOT HUNGRY).

Will see you later.xxxx

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Jan 2021 11:14

O Frank I could always eat a bacon sarnie. Hope Harvey can get you some discount on a new cooker as its something you cna't do without.

Made a mistake this morning we had 5 deer in the garden not 4. Never seen 5 together before. Will send the pics but they are not all clear as taken through the wet window.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Jan 2021 11:18

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 29 Jan 2021 11:39

Yes I could line the basket with a puppy pad Mel I use newspaper usually .

Lovely to see all the deer in the garden ,there one sitting down he looks like he has furry antlers :-D

Frank I hope you can sort the oven out ,can you still use it until you can get another ?
I would be a bit weary about turning it on after seeing the light .

Been up and got a crab ,no one at three stall so that was ok.

Lovely sunshine so I have washed the throws we have on the sofa for Max and they are blowing away ,they are fleecy ones so should soon dry .

Gillx

Gillx Report 29 Jan 2021 11:54

Morning all

Dull day today but at least it's dry, not very warm though.

Love the photo's of the deer's Mel, it must be lovely to see them, the best we have here is the neighbour's cats ;-)

That's a lot of money for your glasses Vera, you only wanted glasses, not a share in the optician shop :-D :-D

Pleased to see you had a reasonable night last night AnnG. What an awful thing to happen to your grandson, he's lucky he was told before he lost anymore money.

Sorry to hear about the bracelet Frank, Ros will need to take it off next time.

Hope all went well with your vaccination Ann and you didn't have to stand in the queue for to long.

It's hair colouring day today, I'm just going to rinse it off and put some conditioner on now, then I'll catch up with a few of my recordings as the planner is filling up again.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 29 Jan 2021 12:43

Mel, yes, I saw what you did.

Frank hope you were able to get the shredder in Aldi What a shame to have to waste half the bacon sandwich, even if you are not hungry do make sure you are drinking enough. We don't want you ending up de-hydrated like my OH. UTIs are not pleasant, very painful, you don;t want that.
Oh dear, more expense too. did you use the oven after you saw the bright light? Maybe Harvey could check it over just to see if you need a new oven or maybe a new element.

Gill, yes it was fortunate our grandson found out when he did.

AnnX He sort of heard about the scams and contact the university direct instead of the person he had been in contact with.

Mandy send me a piece of your ginger cake please!!!! It looks very tasty.

Actually mustn't be greedy my neighbour has just brought me in three pieces of her fruit cake. Good job I am not on a diet.

I did a load of washing this morning which is half dried, then hoovered through all downstairs,

And then tidied up the household accounts ready to do the balance on Sunday (end of month). Luckily I have always had charge of the household accounts. The only accounts I can't access are the two in OH's name, one saving and one current Oh and one ISA.
Unfortunately we were a bit lax and didn't get around to doing an LPA. (I have done one now for myself with daughter and son). But luckily the main account is joint.
Must be almost lunch time. Is anyone doing the RSPB bird watch? Not worth doing here today as the birds have all taken shelter from the damp I think. Maybe I will have a go tomorrow.
