AnnG, well that's a relief for you even though some way to go. I can't believe you were told your OH was covid positive without the fuller picture! What a night of extra worry they have given you. Poor chap must be stir crazy after all this time. I think doctors are a little too honest sometimes - I passed out when I was told the details and risks of my eye op prior to going into theatre, as if I was going to say 'no thanks' :-|

It might be a long haul AnnG but that all sounds encouraging and it sounds as though they are looking after him as well as they can. He’ll appreciate your cards and photos. I hope the doctor’s call to your daughter has relieved your mind a little bit and you get a good night’s rest.
Sorry to hear you are still in some pain Frank but thanks for popping in.

Thanks Vera I'll keep an eye out for it and put it away for Christmas day for Sandra.
I hope you hear about your OH soon AnnG, it must be a worry not knowing what's going on, at least you know it's because of the ward being busy and not that they have forgotten.
Thanks for letting us know about Fitz Ann, It can't be to long now to Hannah's due date.
Busy putting up the Christmas tree I see Mel.
Take it easy Frank, I hope you feel better soon.
Happy belated birthday to Katie, Mandy, did she enjoy her chocolate cake.

Do feel happier so far with him in this hospital, besides the fact it feels closer to me. The doctor seemed very nice apparently and from what she said I am hopeful she is going to look at why he still has back pain.
My friend who works in the hospital who took the photos in managed to also collect his laundry which the ward double bagged, then Joanne added another bag and insisted on taking it round the back for me so I could collect it when I had put gloves on and then leave it a couple of days in the unheated conservatory. For two days I have done all that, thrown the glove scrubbed my hands and used antibacterial. Hopefully I have done enough.

Tree is in position and all lit up now I have to get all the baubles and the fairy on top.
Hannah's due date is 15th December so not far away now. Hope all goes very well for mum and baby. I wonder what names they have chosen?
Its been really cold here today and sun and raining at times. The Asda order was really late and we have the road workmen out the front of the village hall and all down the road.
Belated birthday wishes to Katie and hope she's not too full of that lovely cake. <3

It was a pity they didn't tell you more before AnnG, but it sounds more reassuring what they have said today. He'll be pleased to get his latest card and photos.
I love your village, especially the Photos with Santa and the hill with the sledge and skier! It's great.
Thanks for that Mel. We don't even open the door when we get our delivery and just wave and thumbs up through the window. I suppose I could leave a note in one of the boxes of what I didn't want though, so he could fish those out and take them back. I'll have to try it!
My hair is getting a bit untidy now Vera so I envy you your trim! Mine's due next week.
I think the baby is due on the 15th Gill which Fitz said was H&G's wedding anniversary too.
Nice to hear from you Frank and I hope you feel a bit better tomorrow.
This afternoon I sorted out my old jewelery box into a new stacker one I've had about 2 years still sealed up! It's much better now and there were a few bits for the charity shop bag too. I do get a bit sidetracked though looking at my grandma's hat pins and 2 brooches and a long pearl necklace that would look good with a flapper dress! Then I found some 70s earrings I used to wear, a nice enameled fan shaped pair in black and gold, but much larger than I wear now, plus I don't wear anything gold coloured. They probably got worn with the big shoulders in jackets. I've still kept them though. I have also tidied around the computer in here and filed away some of my art stuff and other paperwork. I can see the desk again!

Thanks for letting me know when Hannah's baby is due. Wouldn't it be lovely if the baby was born on their anniversary. I hope all goes well for them both.
Oh dear Island, it's horrible when that happens and there's no undo button. I hope it doesn't happen again.
It sounds like you've been busy Ann with all your sorting of your jewelry. I remember the big shoulder pads in jackets lol
So you've had your hair cut Vera, I bet that felt good. My OH's hair needs doing but he's waiting until he's had his covid vaccination just in case, better to be safe than sorry. He should be having it this week, then he can have his long awaited hair cut :-)
Going to watch the best bits of the great british bake off now

Good morning all. bright and clear outside pale blue sky with white fluffy clouds. 3 degrees.
Slept well last night woke at 0430 for the loo, couldn't get back to sleep so had a wander around and checked the computer. Back to bed around 0515 and finally woke about 0715.
Gill don't forget the vaccination is a two part one. I think the first jab does gove a bit of immunity but it is the second one that gives more or less full.
I forgot to thank you Annx for news of Hannah and Chris and James from Fitz. Good to know that the men are coping although I did feel that they would they had been well briefed/prepared by Jane. I hope Hannah is keeping well and that all goes well with the birth.

Good morning AnnG and all
It’s still dark, gloomy and wet here but at least the fog has cleared. I won’t be going anywhere today. I think it will be a housework and lounging about sort of day.
Yesterday evening we heard a noise by the front door and found about 8 cards hand delivered. One of our “gang” must have collected cards from the others and delivered them all in one go. It was nice to know we hadn’t been forgotten even though we haven’t seen any of our group for months.
OH has gone for his morning walk so I’d better get on. I think I’ll start tidying the kitchen a bit.

Just spent half an hour out in the garden Yes, was n ot too worried about that lot
Just spent half an hour cutting down some more stuff in the garden. A bit upset because OH's favourite wind decoration has sheered off at the back (double sided. I could fix it but can't find the piece that should hold the bit that turns on). I will have to hope it comes to light in the spring. It can still stand there as the front circle still turns. One I bought him some years ago. Dry here today but only 5 degrees.
Also just had a go at the front door cleaned all round the step to see if that was why it was sticking.
Now going to tackle getting rid of some stuff in the drawers under the spare bed.

About the size of a 50p piece Melband bronze coloured so would blend with soil and leaves.

Same sort of day here,
Ros has been busy on her sewing machine, turning up some trousers. I done nothing as usual.
I prepared SHIN OF BEEF for a casserole yesterday, which neither of us fancied, so we will have that tonight. We had a JACKET instead, with cheese and slaw.
We are going to the cemetery tomorrow to tidy up the grave and put fresh flowers on.
I must ring Harvey, to see if he has got the shower. I was going to order one on Ebay, but he said they would be RUBBISH. So leave it to him to buy. that was two weeks ago.
Not feeling great again today, got a horrible headache, and back is sore.
I see that Hannah is due mid December. I hope she lets us know when it's born. I would like to send a card.
Don't feel like doing anything. I know I must start to do a bit of walking, as my legs are getting weak. I heard yesterday that they are bringing a couple of electric scooters on Jan 4th to see which fits in the boot of the car, and if Ros or I can handle getting it in and out of the boot.
Take care folks, see you tomorrow. xxxx

Electric scooters can be heavy Frank because of the batteries so be careful with your back and your legs when trying to lift things. Ros should also be careful with her back. You know the both of you are not getting any younger so please take care of yourselves. A friend of mine had to get a bigger car so they could have a lift fitted to get her scooter in.

Well lucky I could not understand that phone call, it had a 300 prefix which the hospital numbers all have but .i could not understand what the woman was saying except I picked up OH’s name. So I gave her daughters number. She just emailed me. It was NHS track and trace wanting to know where OH caught Covid. Daughter says she thinks she was fairly restrained.
Next thing I will be told to self isolate I suppose. Hmm!

Afternoon All,
It's been dull here too but warmer than yesterday. I had a text from John Lewis to say the new freezer will be delivered between 11.30am and 1.30pm tomorrow. That's good to know as I can plan a late lunch then that's quick. Lots of covid instructions to wear masks, keep well distanced, to have windows open as well as gates and doors. We managed to empty the existing freezer and turned it around easily, but I noticed how hard the door seals have become, so that's something to keep an eye on.
We had another walk up to the post box at the end of the close last night. A few years ago no-one put lights up, but nearly everyone had lights up, except us and our neighbour!! I counted five new lots of lights since last year. Well we do have a wreath that is lit! Some do look a lot better than others. The best were at a bungalow just round the corner from our close. The bungalow arched eaves were picked out with lights and the shrubs were covered too and it was all in white lights and very pretty.
What a shame the part has gone missing AnnG. Was the part made of steel? If so and you have one you could try using a magnet to find it. It would be hard to spot otherwise being the colour it is. Fancy the track and trace asking questions like that but I expect they have a crib sheet they have to follow.
Yes try and do a bit of SAFE exercise Frank. Even sitting in a chair and lifting your straightened legs up and down will help the muscles. It's what I try to do each day with having bad knees and not being able to walk far. I hope you and Ros can manage the scooter into the boot ok when they bring them to try. Otherwise a bit bigger car with cables and a small hoist like my sister had would be an answer. I hope your headache has gone now
Yes AnnG is right Gill, your OH won't be fully protected till he has had the second vaccine jab 3 weeks after the first one. I found 2 gold watches I haven't worn for decades in my sort out yesterday and need to sell, so they may go in the auction once it's safer. All my beaded jewelery is in boxes elsewhere.
