Well if there was a mistake you would know where it was Ann , another beautiful picture ,I hope your going to frame them Ann and get them on your wall they are too good to just store away.
Oh no Island so annoying when things don't work ,now we'll all have to keep wondering just what this new toy is :-D
Pouring down now ,Max is not keen on going out in it ,he has to be desperate before he go out the door.
Vera it would be good if your OH can find out the problem in the valve chamber and fix it himself :-D

Mandy, serves me right for jumping the gun. I wish I'd tested it on Tuesday instead of doing other jobs. I'll be on to the supplier in the morning.
Annx, you painting is really good. I love the style and minimum palette, I have no idea where your 'mistake' could have been.

You are a painter too then Island........the teacher keeps stressing about us using less colours for these landscapes. I'm glad you all like it and OH has already said about framing it Mandy. I would file most away, but he has a little group of some old ones he's brought out of the study to put next to where he works on his laptop. There's me saying he isn't an old romantic too! lol.
Mandy the first thing I thought about the vaccine was how cold it must be going into your arm if it's stored at -70 degrees! I have plenty of padding, but I don't think I'll tell OH about the long needle as he hates all needles.
What a shame the new toy is broken Island. You didn't lose patience with it did you? Only joking and it is disappointing when things you buy don't work. I hope you can get a replacement soon as I'm dying to see what it does. :-)
Mel, even OH said that scam would trick a lot of people. Email addresses get sold to other companies. Even just adding it to a competition entry the intention can be to get your details to sell on. It annoys me that we get bombarded with these thieves. Who would have imagined these things happening when we were young. It's good you have made a start on your wreaths you are going to do, but it's best left till tomorrow once your hands get cold.
Those pesky mice had moved all the gravel I put in the hole between the bricks again by this morning! It is only half an inch wide as well.
Vera your chap is very handy being able to sort out the part that's needed for the heating. It will be good if he can isolate the actual bit you need. I hope he didn't have too long a wait at the hospital for his friend this time. He is very good to help out like he does.
I hope the woman can make some safe improvements for you Frank. It will be much better if you can get around safely as we all worry about you falling now and it must worry Ros, especially when she goes out. Is the watch Lewis brought with him a good fit now the extra links have been removed?
AnnG I think I will probably get your card tomorrow as things can be slow getting here! I have to rely on lists too. It was a work habit really that I carried on! I file things away like I would have done at work too and keep a diary. Among the old photos I found was one of my desk at work. Lots of paperwork and no computer, it did look odd compared with nowadays. When OH last met up with some ladies he worked with they said they now had 2 computers on their desks, one with codes of instructions and one that they worked their cases on. Even their work came through to workboxes on their computers. I'm glad I'm retired and thankful every day for that!

Ann when my friend had mice they would come through a tiny hole in the edge of the bath panel so she used one of those metal pan scourers and she said it worked a treat as they don't like the metal .

We get 'gravel shifters' too. There's a strip of it at the back of the dogs toilet patch (he's so polite) against the fence. Often, of a morning, the gravel is strewn about and doggies no digger!
Annx, I had art training after leaving school, it was fantastic with so many subjects sampled. Unfortunately, I had no confidence and little encouragement so felt I was no good, but finding some of my work from the time recently I really wasn't that bad and wish I'd had the pointers to continue. You don't forget sound training though so I've taken up painting (ok, 'playing with paint' LOL) and other arty things at a hobby level this last few years. Bit of local exhibiting too but that's not been possible this year of course.
I'm needed on the phone.....

Ann the painting is superb once again and I can see your mistake but it still looks so good and I think its my favorite of all. Oh has'nt seen it yet but he will want to see it I know. He's gone to bed now and I am going in the shower and then turn the heating off so I don't cook him.
Island thats awful that the machine dos'nt work. I hope you got straight on to the company and get a replacement soon.
Ann I too have used a metal scouring pad in a pipe in the little loo where a waste pipe was taken out and a new one put in. I had mice colming up it but the scourer stopped it once and for all. Iv'e also got one in the old shower pipe as I have been in the shower and seen a mouse walk across the floor. They don't bother which is a good thing as I used to breed mice in my younger days. You'll have to put a brick on that hole as they won't shift that.

Morning Mel, AnnG and all
Well, that was a surprise - we got up to quite a thick layer of snow this morning. The garden looked so pretty for a short while but now we’ve got sleety rain and the snow is melting.
I hope the weather is OK for your daughter’s journey AnnG. It must be quite a long drive for her. It will be good for you to have some company for a while and it might make your OH feel a bit happier knowing you’re not on your own. How long will she be able to stay?
What a shame your new toy isn’t working Island. I hope the company can get a new one to you quickly. I’m dying to know what it is.
Better get on with some jobs. Might bbl

We have sunshine and it came out not long after I posted so I went round the garden after doing all the girls and picked loads of green and yellow stuff and found 6 lots of holly berries on the golden king holly outside the wall. I knew there were two lots on it but I cut some brimbles back and found four more lots so I have some for mums arrangment for her stone.
You lucky things waking up to a spinkling of snow. Gets you in the mood for Christmas unless you have to go anywhere.
Yes I was pleased to hear from my cousin in Ohio Anng. Hope you have a lovely day with your daughter. You'll have lots to catch up on not seeing her for so long.

There’s still some snow on the garden and on the pots but the paths are just slushy now.
I hope AnnG’s daughter arrived safely.
Well, Wonder Man has done it :-D. We have heating in the lounge :-D. He still has some more testing to do but fingers crossed it will all be OK. Now we have a name and phone number for spare parts he says he will order an actuator anyway in case this one goes wrong again. I’ve no idea what an actuator does but it seems to be important. I kept calling it activator but that was wrong.
In addition to sorting the heating he’s been out and bought a Christmas tree and now he’s cleaning the oven. I don’t know what he’s on but I want some.

Oh well done Mr Vera and when he's finished the oven Vera I'm not that far away if he's free to do mine :-D :-D
I hope AnnG's daughter arrived safely it will be lovely for her to have some company after the time she has had recently.
Katie sent me a photo of three elves which said " they are back "
I noticed they had the knitted one out and that one doesn't have a mask so I've knitted one for it and I've made a little rhyme to go with it .
I've put .
Here is a mask for Biggy the elf He left in a hurry so it was left on the shelf
Make sure he wears it as we know what he's like He won't even wear it when he's riding his bike
He's a real trouble maker and leader of the pack His best friend is Eddy and he also loves Jack
Look after them well and you'll be rewarded Do a good deed and send one foreward
The elves that are left here are all really busy The only lady we have here is our tea lady Lizzy
Be really good and stay safe love Santa xx

New toy all sorted, I was on the phone first thing, they were very helpful. I thought they would be as I've used them in the past and trust their 'old school' approach. I'll send my first effort in a bit so be prepared to be underwhelmed after all that build up! Goodness knows what I've been doing since then :-S
No snow for us! The forecasters keep teasing us with threats/promises but all we have today is general drear. First burn of winter in the stove though so we're cosy.
Mel, you are an outdoor girl aren't you! Did you put your lippie on? See what I did there LOL
AnnG, I'm pleased you have some company esp your daughter and hope your OH is ok and progressing towards home.
Vera, it's good to have a man 'what does' isn't it :-D I hope your lounge will be cosy again soon.
Mandy, clever little rhymes :-D I meant to comment on your elf pic sooner - Is he called Elfis as his outfit has a Jailhouse Rock look about it :-0
No Annx, Gill or Frank yet today, I hope they're all ok and just being busy bees.

Thank you for your card Mel, it is a really attractive one. Yes daughter snd son in law arrived ok at about 12.30. It is lovely to see them and, being tall SiL has already done a few quick jobs for me, including changing the dud light bulb on the landing.
They go home Monday am.
Grandson who owns a take away up near daughter sent some goodies, mince pies and lemon drizzle cake all made by him and the mince pies packed in twos for the freezer. So thoughtful bless him.
Mandy loved the verse, glad we didn’t have the naughty elves when ours were young.
Vera well done to your OH on fixing the heating.

Outdoor Girl, lol Island, you brought back some memories there. I seem to remember some very orangey foundation and some very lurid lipstick colours.
Love your rhyme Mandy. I told OH about the naughty elves and he thought it was a wonderful idea.
Enjoy your weekend AnnG. You deserve a bit of “nice time” after the last few weeks.
Hope Frank’s OK

Ha ha Island don't use lippy now as oh hates makeup but I do remember Outdoor Girl make up. I used to like Rimmel makeup. Good you got the machine working after the phone call. That elf has his striped pyjames on, its the one I sent Mandy for the children but I like the name Elfis. You're a card............
Got on well with the rings this afternoon. As the sun was out I went and picked all I needed for the three rings. When I got to the ivy seed heads I was 4 short as I use two flowers to four leaves and then I had to do the chickens corn so I did'nt get back up to the wall to pick more. Will do it tomorrow. Then I only have to do the cones, holly berries on some leaves and the flowers and bows. For one I don't have to do bows or flowers but that one is all natural and I found 6 lovely big orange rosehips and some of the holly berries I found so that will be finished. Want to do them in the morning so I can drop them off when I go up the shop tomorrow.
You'll have a nice time over the weekend with your daughter and son in law then Anng. Its good he's tall and did the landing light bulb for you. Thought you would like the card and maybe be able to use it for next years cards.
Vera oh told me that sometimes the Actuator sticks and if your oh opens it right up and gives it some softish taps it should release the plunger. His dad was a heating engineer and oh worked with him a lot when he was young.
Mandy great rhyme that'll make them laugh.
:-D :-D :-D
