Morning all,
Very frosty here this morning ,all the cobwebs look so pretty.
Island I can see your going have fun using your new toy what you've done so far looks good ,I've never seen one before ,I should think you could make some lovely cushions with it .
AnnG I hope you soon hear from OH it must be very strange not to be able to talk to him thank goodness you have had some company or it would have been a lonely few days for you.
Just making a birthday cake for Katie for tomorrow she wants a chocolate one .
Oh Ann I hope OH had his thermals on yesterday for the match I think you can wrap up well but it's your feet that get cold with the standing about .
Frank thank you for your email card very nice with the little dog and I loved the little boy bumping down the slope in his box :-D That's good your getting the handrail sorted in the garden as that's where you've had a few tumbles but shame she couldn't help with any thing else .
Mel that was nice having homemade soup again he looks after you doesn't he :-)
Vera so you have the birds back at last ,they know where to come when their really hungry , I stopped putting food out as we had the rat ,horrible old things I hate them ,we now put a bait box out where Max can't get to it so I think that helps .
Oh cookers bleeping cake must be done .

Good morning all you lovely people.
Another good nights sleep.I woke for the loo at 6.00 am and went back until 9.00 am.
As we are going out for lunch, Ros. got me a Sausage in a bread roll and two COT. That will see me through until 4.00 pm when the table is booked for. Couldn't get any thing earlier. It's in the next village, so not a lot of travelling. The pork will be cooked Monday for dinner.
Ros is still wrapping presents, not many more to go, thank goodness as there is nowhere to store them.
I have had my shave, and just going to get showered and dressed. Then I will sit and read my paper for a while.
Have a good day, xxxx

It was past 4.00am before I got to sleep so I feel like a zombie plodding about this morning. Even the shower hasn't made me feel much perkier. It's wipe down day too!
That was lucky for the farmer and the cows that your OH went to help get them out before they were badly injured with the fire Mel, It could have been so much worse. He is very handy as you say and mends all sorts. Hubby got our little trees and a few of the decs down from the loft yesterday and this morning. He will want to put them up but we need to dust and hoover first so it looks like HW the next few days. At least I will have a bit more time now the 2 painting courses have ended. I cleaned the shower and taps everywhere while he was out yesterday as the hard water we have causes a lot of limescale so at least they are all sparkling now.
That's handy having family able to help you out AnnG. I hope you get some news this week about T. I suppose nothing will be done until he is out of isolation and it was a pity he got exposed to covid.
I could just fancy a chocolate cake now Mandy! :-D Katie will be pleased with her birthday cake. I hope it has something chocolatey on top like smarties! lol Yes OH had his Max Wall black legs with his thermals on yesterday. He wears 2 pairs of socks and thick soled shoes to keep his feet warm and his trapper hat if it's really bad. His shoe soles were caked in mud, but he keeps a cardboard box in the boot for them and changes them before driving home. You should see the state of the car on my side sometimes when he takes a pal with him though.
Thank you for your e-card Frank. As I said it was a nice cheerful one.........just what we need. Glad you had a good sleep and I hope the panic attacks are beginning to be less now. You will feel calmer and that will help too. Enjoy your lunch, even if it is later than usual.
Better get the boxes and crates put outside next ready for the food drop!

Nope still no e-card in my inbox or spam folder.
Suns still out but its blimmin cold out there, as Frank would say brass monkey weather.
Had our big lunch and now I will go and corn the chickens and may do a bit on the rings.
I could just do with a slice of that chocolate cake now Mandy. What does she want for her birthday?
Hope you get on ok with the big wipe down Ann. They seem to come around very quickly lately. Have you tried the plain lamb steaks Ann? I have ordered those this week instead of the ones with garlic and rosemary rub. We both think its just a bit too much and spoils the flavour of the lamb.

Sent a photo of the cake ,bit more than Smarties on the top Ann but thats what she asked for and there are seven of them to share it .
She was hoping for clothes for her birthday so i bought a couple of pairs of leggings and a top plus jim jams and a few other bits and we also give her some money .
Well it's been a lovely day with some nice sunshine but it's been really cold out . We ordered some more rechargable batteries they should be here some time between four and seven .
You'll be ready for bed after your wipe down Ann that was a long time before you dropped off ,i kept waking last night i think i was over tired as we spent the day getting decorated up .

I think I am guilty of taking Elizabeth’s Friday posts for granted. I’ve missed her this week and hope she is OK.
No e-card here either Frank. You’re probably having your meal now so I hope you are enjoying it. I’m pleased you had a good night last night but a shame the nurse who visited wasn't able to help you more. At least it will be a start getting the rails to help you down to the lawn.
I have now got all your cards posted though goodness knows how long they will take to arrive. Actually I lied, I haven’t posted yours yet Gill. That’s because it’s in a Jiffy bag with just a small present for Sandra so I have to take it to the post office.
Good job your OH was on hand to help with that cow shed fire Mel. It doesn’t bear thinking about what could have happened.
AnnG, It’s good that your daughter and sil are able to do a few jobs for you but the main thing is that you have some company for a few days. Has OH managed to charge his phone and speak to you yet?
You sound as though you had a lousy night last night Ann. I hope you sleep better tonight. I didn’t sleep well either so have had a headache all day. Didn’t stop me having a glass of vino with my dinner, lol, but I did stop at one glass. We’re a bit flexible with mealtimes and today we had our dinner at around 3 pm. I feel absolutely stuffed at the moment. I think I ate too much. We had pot roasted beef in a gravy made with beef stock and red wine, roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots, leeks and cabbage with a glass or two of Caballie for him and a glass of Albariño for me, followed by a large helping of apple crumble and cream. I don’t think I shall want much more today.
My goodness Mandy, Katie can’t complain about the amount of chocolate on that cake. She will love it. I hope she has a lovely day on her birthday.
It’s not been a bad day after some early rain but it has been cold all day. A week or two back I asked OH to put some fleece over my pots of agapanthus for the winter. He covered them with one thin skimpy layer and I had a moan so today he put a much better covering on them. They came with me from our old house. There are 6 large terracotta pots and they are my pride and joy so I don’t want to risk losing them in a bad winter. After that he came in and said “I need to go to the tip”. This is code for “Will you organise it”. Do you other ladies have to be secretary/administrators in your house? Since March we have had to book an online appointment for the tip. It’s quick and easy to do so why can’t he do it himself? We now have an appointment at 12.15 on Friday. I can hardly contain my excitement!
I hope you all have a good night tonight with sweet dreams. Stay safe

That's everything wiped and squirrelled away thank goodness! I don't know what I was thinking but instead of just 2 bananas I thought I ordered, I have 2 big bunches!! I'm not very keen on them either! Banana recipes anyone? I might see if I can squeeze a few in the freezer in a few days time. We got more substitutes too. Instead of a family size chicken, leek and ham pie I got an individual size chicken and leek one. I must check what they charged me tomorrow. Instead of a sticky toffee pud it was a big choux pastry thing in a round container that I could barely fit in the fridge!! No we haven't tried the lamb steaks yet Mel. We tried the chicken in a sage gravy recently and found there was far too much sage for our liking. I made up some chicken gravy myself and added just a bit of the sage gravy and it was ok then..
Well Mandy I had to laugh when I saw the cake! It certainly has some chocolate on it, no doubt about that! lol. Yum yum!! :-D :-D They were some nice presents for her, a bit of everything and with money to spend too. I don't know if we had any frost as I was asleep by then. It makes the spiders' webs really stand out nicely doesn't it.
You had a poor night as well then Vera and Mandy kept waking too. Let's hope tonight is better. I shall be off to bed by 8.00pm I think. That was quite a meal you had Vera. I would have been asleep all afternoon after it and the wine I think and in no state for wiping down! That is just the sort of comment my OH would make! Or it would be 'are 'we' going to arrange to.....etc' meaning 'me' not 'we'! It must be a man thing!

Yes Vera I missed our Elizabeth this week too and forgot to post about it. I do hope she is having a peaceful and good weekend. Sending love if you look in EOS. <3
What a grand prix you'll enjoy it Gill even though Lewis is not racing.
I did do a little bit of wiring but not much. When I went to take the recykling bin up the windscreen was frozen inside and out. The sky is clear and all the stars are shining.

Good morning. Not looking forward to today, going back to being on my own I will be ok but it takes some getting used to. Have to have a bit of a sort out, loads of christmas presents now scattered around the house so need to get them into one place out of the way. Then there is the spare bed (OH's bed if/when he comes home) re-made and sheets washed etc. So plenty to do while wondering if OH is ever going to phone again.
One thing with messages going out in cards I have now had two phone calls from people not seen for a long time. One the 94 year old who we used to meet up with on holiday in Lanzrote about 10/15 years ago. Nice to keep in touch and good to have daughter here to actually take his call as her hearing is excellent and his voice was not strong.

Morning Anng and all,
Misty moisty morning after a heavy frost last night the kind of day when all the spiders webs hang with tiny beads of water like mini lights. ASll the windows were misted up this morning in the bedroom and bathroom.
We're all here for you Anng so don't feel lonely when your dear daughter goes home. It must have been so good to see her and SIL. Just pop into the thread and chat with whoever is looking in.
I should have two parcels comig today. I bought the boys two underwater lights that change colour. They came in one box and when I went to get them out yesterday to wrap for their stockings there was only one changer with them so I had to order another set for the other boy. They were a £1 dearer too. I hope they are the same as Iv'e had the others for ages. First of all I could'nt find them as they were not in the spare bedroom on the set of draws where I usually put the things for the boys stocking. The other thing is my deoderant as I can't get it in any of the shops I shop in or Em can't get it in Tesco. Have to have mum unscented as its the only one I can use. All other unscented ones smell to me.

Tony has been transferred to Gloucester hospital now he has tested positive for Covid this morning and is apparently very confused. Breaks my heart not to be able to see him or speak to him, he has not phoned since last Thursday. We think he is too weak to survive this. managed to avoid it all the previous months then catch it in hospital. I am not impressed.

Morning All,
A much better sleep last night so I hope to get more done today. OH made me laugh when he brought me my morning cuppa as he burst into the banana boat song......'Dayoooo dayayayooo!' I counted up 13 substitutes last night so meals are going to need a rethink.
I need to ring the thyroid register today. I should have had my annual blood test letter by now so need to see whether ciovid has caused them to be suspended. I wouldn't have thought so.
Yes it must be strange being on your own so much AnnG. I lived on my own for 9 years but was working full time and could go out round the shops and see people, so it was very different. A friend who lives in a flat on her own and no garden is findinq it a bit much now as she is in an area that has hardly been out of lockdown. Keeping busy and catching up with jobs is a help. I hope you hear from T today.
Better go and see if the birds have eaten all the food and then sort out lunch!

Oh no AnnG, I feel for you getting this news. It must be a worry, but hopefully he will be okay and they will be keeping a close eye on him. It is heartbreaking you not being able to see him or speak to him. I hope they will be able to sort out some phone contact for you soon and get his phone charged.
Mel I love your description of the webs, it is spot on!

Oh AnnG, another setback for poor T and another worry for you. I could cry for you. You are obviously being realistic but don’t lose hope. I know he has been weakened by the pain of the last few months but before that he was fit and active so his body may be stronger than you think. Try and take care of yourself. Stay strong, we’re all here for you. <3 <3

Thank you. I have to be realistic as I know he was already very weak when he went in and has still not been eating or drinking. We think he had given up and the virus will weaken him further. I know there is always hope and I have that in bucket loads. But realistically I also have to be prepared. It is really sad that he is too confused to phone, nurse said his charger (or a charger) was with his stuff.

Oh AnnG, I am so sorry to read your latest news. I felt sure you would be posting about a call from him today. How on earth has he picked up covid in a hospital and in isolation? Not good. You must look after yourself, stay strong and keep busy - not too busy mind <3
