I can't stand him Gill. He gets on my nerves the way he speaks and treats you like children.

I'm pleased she liked the card. When I saw it I just had to send it but I know I had sent her one before so thats why I sent it from the birds. When I was little my mum and dad told me that Tom Tit had told them what I had been up too so I thought it would be nice for Sandra to think the birds had sent her a card. I'm pleased she likes it and I thought it was nice too. You have to give it a flick with your finger if the snow gets stuck.

Morning all,

The usual weather here today just continuous rain so nothing new. O the suns just popped out as I typed the last line!!!

Tooth I jarred is still sore and wehn I push the roof of my mouth with my tongue the tooth moves so I think its a trip to the dentist for me and he will probably take it out.

Safe journey tomorrow Jane and enjoy your break and Chirstmas with the family.

Morning all

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANK <3 <3 <3 Have a lovely day.

No Jane Sandra didn't get to feel any of her presents, she would of guessed some of them so we managed to get them out of the way before she tried. I've done the same as you and put the DVD of her favourite film in a cracker shape so she can't guess what it is before she opens it. She's still doing the countdown and is now starting a new countdown to New Year as well. I see you're ready for your break away, hope the weather is kind and your journey goes well. Have a lovely time with your family. Hope Thomas hasn't gone walkabout and you get him to the cattery okay. Pleased to see you have 7 days free of the Chemo tablets, hopefully that'll make you feel better so you can enjoy your Christmas more. Good luck with the next bout of treatment, I'll be thinking of you <3 <3 <3
Love your Christmas tree and Fitz's to, his is massive, how on earth did he decorate it all?

What a lovely thing to do Mel, giving out the candy canes, I bet it made their day. I hope you manage to get your tooth sorted, you don't want to be in pain or discomfort over Christmas.

Your cakes look delicious Mandy, I bet they don't last very long though. I know mine don't when I make them. Have you got many presents left to wrap?

That's a nice picture of you and your friends Ann, what interesting stories of them all. Did you master the crocheting in the end? What are you making?
My OH used to be the same and not check expiry dates, Sandra and I have trained him now as he didn't come back with a trifle yesterday saying the date was up before Christmas day, he did well with the dips though as that date is 31st December, but he has in the past bought things with an expiry date of the same day it was bought. I go to the back of the shelf in the hope I find what I'm looking for with a better date on, but it doesn't always work, sometimes I strike lucky though.

Good afternoon to you all, nd thanks for my Birthday greetings.

Bright sunny day here. Just waiting for Harvey and Julia to come.

I have had 18 cards today, and a nice variety of Presents. Ros has bought me new shirts, trousers, socks and two packs of under pants. She is going to throw a lot of my old ones away. She said they are old and tatty. WHO CARES. No one sees them lol lol Harvey has bought me a SEVEN POUND JAR of Rhubarb and Custard sweets. I do like one now and then !!!!!! These will last me a year. !!!!

I was at the dental chap yesterday for more impressions. I have to go back again in the new year. So having to make do with what I have for a few more weeks.

Ros was an hour late for the hairdressers, Ros had 11.00 am but the hairdresser said it was 10.00 am Anyway she got sorted and was home around 2.30. All glamed up
ready for Christmas.

I found a nice bruise on my back this morning, from when I fell down the other night. It has only just come out, as I haven't noticed it before.

How lovely for Sandra to get a card from the BIRDS. saying THANK YOU.

No set plans for setting off tomorrow. When we are ready we will just go. There's no rush, so we can take our time, and stop for coffee as we want.

It seems the South of England have had terrible floods. I hope we will be alright tomorrow. We will use the A 43, A34, M4 and M5. Being all MAJOR ROADS, we should be fine.

If I remember and we have space I will take my computer with me, so I can keep in touch and check you are all behaving yourselves. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

I see the Queen isn't happy about BORIS and his GIRLFRIEND staying together for the night at Sandringham. People who live in GLASS HOUSES shouldn't throw stones, come to mind. She has no further to look, than her own CHILDREN. :-( :-( :-(

That's enough from me today, so will say have a nice afternoon whatever you might be doing. Will see you later. xxxx

Afternoon All,

<3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANK <3 <3 I hope you are having a nice day. I'm wondering what came in the heavy box!! Was it from Conrad?

Yes, I always have a rummage to find the longest dates too! I lift up the veg trays to the ones underneath as well when they are getting low with the not so good veg/fruit left. :-)

Mel I hope that tooth settles down for you soon. OH has had a bit of soreness with one of his teeth but needs to wait for his appointment at the hospital next month. That was lovely of you to do the globe card from the birds for Sandra! :-D No rain here yet today but it is very dull. Yes Jane told us before that Fitz's wife decorates the tree, but it must take days to do it! I imagine it must smell lovely with a pine tree that size though, really Christmassy!!

We had chicken breasts with 4 veg (and mashed pots for OH) for lunch. I always steam veg and he says they are better than any we have when we eat out, so that's not going to get me out of home cooking is it! lol. I'll be glad when Christmas is over so we can eat out on Sundays again without everywhere being so busy.

I've baked the gammon this morning. I usually pressure cook it, so it's taken ages to cook in comparison and will probably be quite salty too. I had forgotten that I couldn't get a valve for the pressure cooker as the part is obsolete and that I meant to get a new pressure cooker! That is something for me to buy in the sales now. :-D

I watched the prog about Freddie Mercury last night and it was so sad to see how gaunt he was at the end. They said they put jumpers under his shirt to pad him out a bit for his last appearance. Still handsome though and they all said what a kind man he was.

Well wish me luck as I'm going in the corner under my desk now to clear out what's under there, plug in a longer extension and make room for my new trolley box. I just hope my knees let me get back up again after!

Happy birthday Frank hope you have a good journey down.
We left home at 0830 and got here just after 1.30pm. We had two 20 minute stops on the way so it was quite good going. Traffic was not too bad and once we passed Lancaster it was really light. It stayed dry until we were about fifteen minutes away from daughter’s.

The house is really nice, a bit of a tight squeeze if we are all in one room but ok if we spread out over two rooms.

You had some nice things for your birthday Frank ,don't eat to many of those sweets though or the clothes won't fit :-D

Ann I meant to say thank you for the photo of all the ladies ,it's nice to see the faces of the ladies you talk about .
My pressure cooker is old it was a wedding presant but I still do my Gammon in it every year ,I've had new gaskets and the little bit on the little bit on the top that blows if it gets to much pressure .

Lovely cake Mel ,I made Venneise fingers today ,I had to make two lots as the family love them so I keep a few back for us and they have the rest ,they took the Tunis cake home this morning .
I remember that young chap Mel he has a lovely voice , he sang with a young lady on the talent programme.

AnnG glad you arrived safely ,have a lovely time with your family .

Safe journey tomorrow Jane and Frank and if we don't hear from you while your away I hope you all have a good Christmas with your families.

Mandy he was 17 and she 16 when they went on the program. It was in 2012. I watched that again and watched the audiance faces when they came out on stage and then the same women when they started to sing. Soon changed their minds. Even Simon looked cheesed off when they came on stage and then his face lit up when they sang. He was so nervous and you could see it in his face.

Morning all

Very windy here today and my sore throat is back, plus ear ache so I'm not feeling great. I started feeling unwell yesterday and was sick last night, so I'm going to rest today and hope it doesn't get any worse.

Yes, I do embroidery Mel, I used to use those iron on patterns, I haven't seen them for years though.
Love your cake, it's very pretty. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Safe journey Jane and Frank, hope it's not as windy as here, enjoy your time away.

That's a big jar of Rhubarb and Custard sweets Frank, they'll keep you going for a while.

Pleased to see your journey was okay yesterday AnnG, have a lovely time with your family.

Did you manage to clean under your desk yesterday Ann? I hope your knees were okay when you tried to get out.

Going to get a cuppa now, see if that eases my throat a bit.

Mornig Gill and all,

We have a bit of sunshine today and oh wants me to go shopping today and not go to Bideford but to go to Holsworthy. Not sure as I have to drop Aunty Joys pressies off and she lives in Bideford.Only two sleeps now. Its come around very quickly this year.

Hope you feel better later today Gill we don't want you ill for Christmas. I expect its all the excitment.

Glad you liked my cake. Don't think the camera did it justice though with it being gold and silver.

Di's been this morning so I am going to Holsworthy this afternoon.

Gillx

Gillx Report 23 Dec 2019 17:47

It's quiet on here today. Hope the weather wasn't to bad for Mel's shopping trip and it wasn't to busy at the shops. OH went out before 9am today to pick the last few bits up for Christmas and he said it was mad out there and when he left Tesco's there was a queue to get into the car park, our car park is massive so it must of been very busy. He managed to get everything we needed so we won't need to go out again until after Christmas.

I thought your cake looked very professional Mel, you did a brilliant job. At first I thought it was a shop bought one until I read your email. My throat is still sore but I've been drinking plenty which is helping.

We've been watching a few films this afternoon, so I've had plenty of rest and will have an early night tonight as it's baking day tomorrow.

Sandra and OH said they will help me do the baking, Sandra is looking forward to it, so I've said she can make the Victoria sponges all by herself if she wants. She's not sure about doing it all but I think if I talk her through it she'll be okay and I can always do the oven bit, which is the part she's nervous about. She's burnt herself a few times when trying to take things out of the oven and I don't want her worrying about it. I want her to enjoy making her first cake.
