Afternoon all, had a good run out visiting one large garden centre for coffee then a second smaller one for lunch. In the second one we found another cottage that was reduced so now I am going to have to find a space for it. this one is a railway cottage and has a little train running around it. The reason it was reduced was the music has apparently stopped playing. Other half will have a look and see if he can fix it. Had a load of cards when we got home, one was in a plastic bag from the post office apologising because the contents are missing. I have not got a clue who it was from as it is a typed address but it has a large second class stamp on and I can just make out part of a stamped post code which looks like 'sex' and and maybe followed by E Could be our friends in Devon near Exeter but can't thinkj they would send anything over weight. More likely to be a hand made card I think, only a smallish card 5" x 5". Thinking cap on now.

Forgot to say thank you Mandy for the pretty card and HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNE I hope you have a lovely day.
Annx how awful for the lady's daughter what a nasty person, I do hope she recovers well. Aren't people stupid when it floods, surely they might guess the water is too deep for their cars even if it is dark. Too lazy to try and find an alternative route.
Mandy hope you enjoyed your lunch, ours was not planned but, as we were running late we stopped and had jacket potatoes and salad which were very nice, mine with prawns and OH's with Tuna. Are you sure that your oven sides are not self clean?
A few minutes ago the doorbell went and it was the young girl across the road with her two little girls ages about 6 and 3, I had put a note in their card to say come and see the cottages if you want. (They saw them last year). so they spent about 20 minutes looking at it all, they have very sweet quite quiet, very polite. Then OH got them to switch on the outside lights via Alexa and his Ipad, they loved that. Sent them away with a chocolate coin off the tree.

Well here I am. Good afternoon all,
After getting showered and dressed, I filled a sprayer with "WET AND FORGET" and got a brush to scrub the gravestone. We got to Earles Barton around 11.00am. Ros bumped into a lady she knew, who was visiting her parents grave also. They chatted for a while, so I started to clean the stone. Ros came and cleared all the leaves and took the old flowers out of the pot. We had cut the storks down on the artificial flowers yesterday, so didn't take long to replace. All the rubbish bins/baskets were full, so we had to bring all the rubbish home with us. The old flowers from Mum and Dad's grave go onto her Grandparents grave, and the old ones on that go in the bin.
We were out a good two hours, so I popped a pitza in the oven for lunch. Ros has made a BIG STEW for the next few days, I have made some DUMPLINGS, so I hope they will be alright.
Tomorrow I am at the hospital about my eyes, I rang them this morning to say how clear my eye is, and should I still go. YES you must come and see the consultant. She will decided if it still needs doing. Tomorrow evening is Mothers Club Christmas get together, starting at 7.00 pm, so I will be on my own all evening.
I told you I lost a tooth this weekend. Well Tony knows a guy that can put new teeth onto my plate, as I have TWO MISSING, I am going Wednesday Morning to get measured up for them. I will be able to collect them in the afternoon. So I will have a full set of teeth for CHRISTMAS.
Ros's nail lady has just rung to say she has a cancellation on Thursday and would she like to go at 10.00 am. She's just told me. Simon and Sally are coming at 9.30 am so she has just rung her back to cancel, and have her appointment at 11.30 as p[reviously arranged.
Must dashh to check on the stew. See you later. Love to Jane. xxxx

Evening everyone
There are too many posts to respond to each one but I have read them all. I am OKish now. Still sleeping badly and feeling a bit droopy but able to function.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNE <3 <3 <3. I hope you have had a lovely day.
The pictures of the deer are lovely Mel. It must be great to look out of your window and see something like that. Your tree looks very pretty. OH has brought our tree in today and set the lights up but I haven’t had time to decorate it yet. Just looking at it now I am wondering whether to bother as it looks lovely with just lights.
Thank you Mandy for your pretty card which arrived today.
OH has just come in with a CoT and piece of cake as we are going out shortly to our club’s Xmas evening so I’ll get this posted.

Afternoon All Happy Birthday Anne <3 <3 <3 (so sorry I forgot to send a card :-S )
Love the pic of the Deer and your tree Mel :-D :-D
Frank, I hope that you get the all clear with your eyes and that you wont need anything doing and also you can get your extra teeth in time for Xmas. All I want for Xmas is my 2 front teeth :-D :-D
I bet the little girls were mesmerised by all lovely cottages Ann and would have been thrilled to be able to turn the lights on :-D
Vera ,I do hope that your latest migraine and dizzy spells are not long lasting .Resting up is no doubt the best thing to do right now.
Gill you and OH have had a rotten run of sore throats and colds. Fingers crossed you are all well again in time for Xmas.
Mandy I can imagine the excitment building with all the children now .Are they all trying to be good to make sure Father Christmas visits? :-D :-D.
Ann that was shocking what happenend to your friends daughter. Attempted Murder :-0 :-0 Did you get that massage back thing for OH? It sounds a very good idea. As for your palaver with your specs !!!! what a do. You really had the run around didnt you.
I have wrapped all but one present now.I cant wait to put all the wrapping paper /tags and ribbons away. The place has looked a right tip .
One week today and we will be off to the cottage. We all decided not to book Xmas lunch out for 2 reasons. One was because of my trouble eating and the other because it was £100 per person not including any drink!!!!!. James is making starters,Gareth and Hannah are cooking the Turkey etc.We are taking Deserts and Cheeses.Chris has made the Xmas Cake (just needs to ice it now) I am not allowed to eat any unpasteurised food. So no Brie/Camambert/Blue Cheese or even Paté :-S :-S. They were all the things I was thinking I could manage too. But because of my compromised immune system now they are all a no no.There are other foods too I mustn't have but cant think what now. I am sure I might be able to work my way through a nice tin of chocs though :-D :-D
The battery is amost flat on the laptop so I need to find the lead and get it plugged in.

Mandy I too wish to thank you for your card that arrived today. With all the tree things all over the table I had'nt seen where oh had put it.
I picked up the dishcloth to wipe the work surface and it was grey!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh uses it mostly but never thinks to shove it in a saucepan and boil it so I have done it.
Irish stew for us tonight as I have been fancying one for a week or so and with doing other things its a good thing as it cooks itself really. I have b oiled the barley seperately as that tends to stick to the bottom of the big pan. Dough boys will go in later.
Glad your feeling a bit better Vera and enjoy your clubs Christmas evening.
Frank I don't think you need to scrub the stone if you spray it with the wet and forget it will do it all for you.

I'll swap you with all my Magpies and Pigeons Mel! lol. Destructive, messy little blighters ;-) Your tree looks lovely all lit up.
I hope you enjoy your club's Christmas Evening Vera and am glad you are feeling up to going now.
Jane I want OH to see and try one of those back massagers first. They used to have them to try at the Boundary Mill retail park so I'll see if I can get him there later this week or next week. Yes how awful to try and run the lady down. Apparently she has already needed 3 operations since it happened. I can see why you wouldn't want to eat out on Christmas Day, it would be an expensive waste wouldn't it. Also you don't want to be exposed to things you would catch while your immunity isn't so good with the treatment. It's good everyone is mucking in with the cooking. Will Gareth's parents be joining you?
Good luck at the hospital tomorrow Frank, at least you will find out if your eye does need some treatment. New gnashers added for Christmas too to be tucking in with. :-D :-D :-D
AnnG one of the photos of the cars that was stuck was next to the depth stick which showed the water was over 3ft deep!!

Morning all,
Dull and very frosty here this morning and there's still frost on my car roof.
Donkey day today but I think I only have to do Morrisons so should be home quickly for me.
Did up oh's presents last night and the one present apart from his big one was something I thought he may use a lot. DO YOU THINK I CAN FIND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Not on your nelly. I have looked in all my hiding places and first thought it was in a morrisons bag with other bits but no. So I went through the bottom of my wardrobe and it was'nt there either. The only place I hav'nt looked is in the material trunk behind the fireplace in the lounge and that is in a seat which has a lot of my craft boxes on it with felt and bits in.
I have now looked in the seat thing and its not there either.

Just lost my posting. Good afternoon all, All went well with my eyes this morning, and was discharged, with the understanding that if it plays up again, I will go back to see the consultant. I have to take my teeth into the chap at 10.00 am tomorrow, I can then collect them after 3.00 pm. So all BIG SMILES for Christmas. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Horrible wet, dark, miserable day here. Good job we got the grave sorted yesterday. It wouldn't be a place to be today. !!!!
Martine called at lunchtime with my Birthday Present and our Christmas presents and card. Ros won't be seeing her Saturday, as she is having her hair done. Eos not Martine. !!!
I see in the paper that the RAC is giving out warnings about traffic expected on the roads leading up to Christmas. The M1, M6, M 25, M4 and M5 are expected to be extra busy from Friday onwards, we can just hope the M4 and 5 are not too busy on Monday when we travel. I will get Ros to stop as often as she likes, we are in no great RUSH to get there.
Jan rang this morning, thanking us for the money towards Christmas. She will do the main shop on Saturday with Conrad, who will be back here Friday afternoon.
She tells me that Ella (Jo's Daughter and Alexander Kerry's son.) are making me a Birthday CAKE. Gawd knows what to expect, but the little "DARLINGS"won't poison me. I HOPE. lol lol
I see you are all getting ready for Christmas. Have you found OH other present Mel, ?? I hope Jane has a nice break, it will do her the world of good. Just be careful to what you eat. xxxx
Ros is OUT TONIGHT. Mothers Club Christmas do. She has to be down the village hall by 7.00 pm. The committee are preparing all the food, and laying out the tables. So I hope she,and all the girls/Ladies have a wonderful evening.
My eye is starting to ache a little, so I will go and close my eyes and rest it for a while. Hope this weather isn't stopping you from doing things, speak later. xxxx

I hope you find the present Mel. We had frost this morning but it's all gone now.
Got a Christmas card this morning with no writing in it so it was a guessing game to think who sent it. OH was out before I got up, but when he came home he said the card was off his uncle and that his uncle sent his apologies, bless him. He is the sole carer for his wife who has dementia and that day was a bad day for her, which is why he forgot to write in the card. I've written it out on his behalf now.
Mum came around with more presents and cards and has just left, so the spare bedroom is now full, thankfully we don't use that room so they'll be okay in there for another week. I think that's all the present for us now, which is good as there's no room left to put anymore. OH and I saw a magic pad on TV last night, so he went out and bought it for Sandra. I sneaked it in before and will wrap it in the morning when she's still sleep. It's like the old etch-a-sketch, but lights up and is colourful, much better than the ones we had as children, so we think she might like it. We've gone mad on presents for her this year, so I think it's time to stop or she'll have no room to put them all away once she's opened them.
I still haven't managed to catch up with all the posts yet so will look at them later as I'm behind with all the washing I need to do and OH is painting the front room and dining room at the moment, he's then got to go to his friends as he asked him for help with something he can't manage on his own, so he'll be off out again shortly.
Sandra wants to watch Eastenders I recorded, before it's back on again tonight and neighbours I records earlier, so I need to find time for that too.
It's turned out to be quite a busy day, when I thought it was going to be a quiet one.
Well, I'd better go and sort this washing out, be back later. :-) :-)

Pleased that your eye appointment went well frank hope the eye continues to be OK, and new teeth too, you will be a new man!! Also, if I haven't already said, thank you for the e card, and then today the email funnies.
Gill, Sandra will be opening presents all day. It sounds as if you and OH are feeling better now which is good.
We are just back from a long Christmas lunch out. We went to a little old pub that we had not been to before, there were 17 of us from our U3a garden visits group. Tony and I both had the same. Pate, roast beef and sticky toffee pudding with two scoops of ice cream. there were then mince pies and coffee, we brought the pies home, he had coffee I didn't. It was all nicely cooked and promptly served and plenty of it. With the beef we had two roast pots, two new boiled, pleas, cabbage, cauli, sprouts, carrots, parsnips and yorkshires. With the turkey they had the same veg with pigs in blankets and stuffing. We got home at 3pm, the pub was two junctions down the M6.

Hope you're feeling a little better today Vera.
£100 per person is very expensive and without drink to Jane, I don't blame you for not going. I'm sure you'll all have a lovely meal with everyone chipping in. We're all feeling much better now and I think we will be fine for Christmas.
Yes, I think you might be right AnnG, Sandra will take most of the day unwrapping her presents she has so many of them, mum brought three more bags of presents around today, most of them for Sandra. I think she's been spoilt this year.
What an awful thing to happen to your friends daughter Ann, I can't believe some men are like that, I'm pleased he was arrested and hope the woman has a speedy recovery. The floods sound bad, is it far away from yours?
Finally finished the washing so I'm now watching Eastenders with Sandra. OH has just come in and is having a cuppa then he'll check to see if the painting needs a second coat.

Evening all,
It's been a wet old day here ,it eased up just after lunch so i nipped out to get a few bits we needed ,i also had tablets to get from Boots because they didn't have them last week when i went in ,took ages in there even though there was only three people before me in the queue .
That's good your appointment went well at the hospital Frank ,you must be pleased you don't need any treatment on the eye . Get the new teeth on the plate and you'll be well away and ready to enjoy Christmas .
Mel your tree looks nice all lit up ,hope your shopping day went well and you got home before dark .
AnnG sounds as if you enjoyed your lunch today with good size portions by the sound of it :-D We enjoyed our lunch out yesterday ,i had Buttermilk Chicken in a bun with naughty chips and Colin had a Mixed Grill ,no pud though as we were both full.
Gill i saw those Magic pads advertised on the tele they look quite good i think Sandra will like one of those . OH has been busy painting i see ,is it the walls he's been painting or the woodwork ?
Ann that's a good idea to get OH to try the back massagers first to see how he gets on with them ,i should think they are nice and relaxing to use .
Vera i hope your feeling a little better today and you were able to enjoy your club's Christmas Evening .
Jane the children are getting excited ,they came on Sunday and sent their Christmas lists up the chimney to Santa :-D You sit back and let the others sort out the christmas dinner ,it wouldn't have been a good idea to go out and mix with other people any way with your immune system being low . When you said about unpasteurised food it made me think about the advert that used to be on the tele were they said " And Pasteurised is best " but i carn't remember what the advert was now ,or am i thinking about that Benny Hill song with the milk float ? :-S
I've nearly finished all the dolls clothes ,just got to finish off a pair of Dungarees so i'll send a photo of the ones i have finished .

OH's been painting a bit of the wall in the corner and where the wall meets the ceiling Mandy, it had a bit of mould so he cleaned it off and touched up the paint. He did the same thing on the wall in the corner of another room. We don't live in an insulated property so when we have the heating on and it's cold outside we end up with condensation on the outer walls which needs sorting out, if we don't get to it quickly it can cause mould, which is what happened. It's all sorted now, although the dining room might need another coat of paint, which OH can check in the morning. I love all the dolls clothes, you've been very busy. I didn't realise how many outfits you were making. Lacey is going to love them.
Love your tree Mel, it's very pretty with all the lights and decorations on.
I didn't get an e-card Frank, did you send it to my old email address by mistake?

I’m feeling much better now, thank you Gill. I'm glad to hear you are on the mend as well. I didn't feel much like going out last night but enjoyed our club Christmas do when I got there. We all take a plate of finger food and usually I make something but I didn’t feel like it this year so I bought some packets of cheesecake bites from Tesco, put them in a nice dish and decorated them with black grapes. They looked nice and seemed to go down OK. We came home with a bottle of wine and a set of 4 mugs from the secret Santa and some hand wash stuff I won in a silly game.
However many presents do you give each other Gill? You’ll have to dole them out over the next few weeks and Sandra will think it’s Christmas every day. I expect she’s really getting excited now.
I have at last decorated the Christmas tree. We always have a real tree and usually pay out for a Nordman Fir. They are expensive but don’t drop their needles much. This year’s tree is only 4 foot or a bit more but it is nearly as wide as it is high and really bushy. With plain soft white lights and red and gold decorations it doesn’t look half bad.
I’m really pleased to hear about your eyes Frank. It must have been frightening when you couldn’t see and a big relief now the doc has said you don’t need the treatment. With your teeth sorted as well Ros will think she’s got a new man for Christmas :-D :-D. Thanks for your emailed “funnies”. I’m going to forward it to OH’s sister as I know she will be amused by it.
Ann, that hit and run is terrible. The poor girl. I hope she recovers quickly from her physical injuries but I suspect it will take longer for the mental scars to heal. I wish her well.
Lovely to hear from you Jane. I think you were wise not to book your Xmas meal out. Apart from the cost, you would have felt uncomfortable if you were struggling with the food. In the cottage you can relax and take your time over eating the meal. Just make sure you let the others do the work; you can be “management” and delegate lol. I have forgotten where you said you were going.
Have you found OH’s present yet Mel? Isn’t it odd the way things go walkabout? I had loads of bookmarks, including two lovely leather ones, a plastic one with a 3D effect of hot air balloons, a velvet and lace one sil made for me and several card ones from different places. OH and I have looked at books on the shelves, in drawers and cupboards and all we can find are 2 card ones from my old school and one from the Battersea Dogs Home. I am clearly being visited by an invisible man with a bookmark fetish!
OH has been going back and forth to the hospital with our friend who is having chemo and has to take him again tomorrow. I think that will be it for a short while. Of course we must help him but it does tie up the car and OH for the day as he has to be around to pick our friend up when he rings to say he can come home. The length of time he has to be there seems to vary each visit so we can’t plan ahead. It’s a bit irritating with Christmas shopping etc to do but we have to get our priorities right. The most important thing is that he gets the treatment he needs.
Well, OH got our meal tonight so it’ll be my turn to clear up. I’d better go and get it done. Sleep well tonight.
