It's a sad occasion but isn't a chore for him Jane. He thinks it is an honour to be asked. He usually just notes a few key points and is not one for public displays of tears so isn't worried about that. He spoke at both his mother's and father's funerals, even making people laugh and the celebrant described him as very eloquent. It's just not knowing what the family expect, as he is very particular about getting things right. I think he will have to ask the brother for a few clues. :-)
Mandy all the children were queueing to have their feet measured outside the Clarke's shoe shop yesterday. I bet a lot of parents will be glad to wave them off in their new uniforms! I know my mum always was. lol. Just saw your unicorn bag and it looks even better than I could have imagined. You are clever and the children are so lucky to have you make these lovely things for them. :-)
Off to bed early tonight as the free 6 week craft thing starts again tomorrow. I haven't a clue what we will be doing. :-)

Morning all,
You're up early Ann.
We have sunshine this morning but big heavy looking clouds in the sky too.
I must have sent it as Ann you commented on the horn being a shell and I replied that it was made of material.
I am going to try and do some HW today and then some craft I think. We have a nice easy lunch of Cornish Pasty's so no faffing about making a salad for oh just soup for him with it.
Washing machine is on and has been on already and its oh who put it on. One lot on the line and one just about to go out there.

Good morning all
Lovely bag Mandy. I bet Lacey was delighted with it.
No chance of putting washing out here. It’s been raining since the middle of the night. It seems to have stopped now but is very wet everywhere and no sign of any sun yet. I’m having an HW day too. I’ve been putting off washing the floors for several days so have made a start this morning. There just seems a lot of tiled floor :-|. We have a big hall with a downstairs cloakroom, a BIG kitchen diner, off the kitchen end there is a utility room and off the dining section there is a conservatory and it is tiled right through. OH has gone to pick up his new glasses so I have done it all except the hall. When it’s dry the furniture can go back and then I will do the hall.
My life is a lot easier now OH can manage to do a few things himself though I did go with him for an appointment at the surgery on Monday and blood tests on Tuesday.
Good that you got Thomas in the catteryJane, even if it was two days early. You haven’t booked him to come out two days before you get home have you?
Oops someone at the door. Must go. May bbl

Good morning Girls. xxx
So Thomas is out of your hair now Jane. What time are you off tomorrow, and I hope you have a nice few days, after all the upset with James. How is he, ??
What a great idea AnneG, Where do you fly from , and how expensive is it to rent these EX Time shares. ?? Whenever we went away.(before Conrad lived in Spain) we would always eat out. The hotel restaurants were never very well used, hence the food could be very iffy. lol lol
Ros did come with me to the Drs. Telling her, as soon as we sat down. That I had lost a lot of weight, wasn't eating properly, and not sleeping, so not much for me to say, other that I was out of salts and felt tired, and was very depressed, and lethargic. I couldn't give her any reason for this. She has arranged for me to have FULL BLOODS taken, when I go for my monthly injection, and I will make another appointment when she has the results back. So watch this space. lol
Very blustery here today, clouds flying across the sky. We had rain in the night. Denis next door knocked this morning to sat my hose from the tap was spraying water everywhere. I must have forgotten to turn off the tap yesterday, and the pressure forced the hose of the connection. What a waste of water.
The Lamb that was over from last night has been given to PAM for the dog, so it won't be waisted. I will sort something fresh for tonights meal.
All showered and dressed. Eos has changed the bedding so the WILL GO ON THE LINE SHORTLY (SORRY) caught the CAPS.
Be good and have a pleasant day. xxxx

Morning all
Bright and sunny here but it looks like we've had some rain in the night. OH has just put the first coat of paint on the concrete posts in the front, there's a few clouds around so he might not do anymore coats today incase it rains. He's bought the red paint to do the bricks on the corner of the bungalow where he caught them with the white paint and he needs to put another coat of white paint on the gate post where the old fence touched it, so lot's of little jobs still to do.
OH saw next door go out so he got his ladders so we could see what they've done down the side against our fence, they had a new one put in but we weren't sure how they connected it to ours, it looks like they've added some wood to the concrete posts then put there fence onto that, they've also put a security light onto the fence. We noticed the security light going on and off last night so I hope it didn't disturb Sandra with it being so close to her bedroom. I'm sure she'll let us know when she wakes up. The light is a soft white rather than the really bright one they switch on occasionally, so hopefully Sandra won't have been woken up by it.
I see Thomas is on his holiday already Jane, now you can pack and be off yourselves. That tree is really big your neighbours are taking down, it's going to take a while with just a small chain saw.
Love the bag Mandy, you are very clever. I haven't done anything with Sandra's Flamingos yet, as we're not sure how to sort them for her, the last thing we want is to break them, so I'm going to have a think I see what ideas I come up with.
Thanks for letting me know you have sent the parcel for Sandra Mel, I'll keep an eye out for it. I haven't said anything to Sandra so it'll be a nice surprise for her.
I hope all went well at the doctors Frank and you are all sorted now.
I've just had trouble trying to get onto my emails, I couldn't remember my password and had two in mind, but neither of them worked. I then realised it was case sensitive and I was using a capital letter at the front, so I thought I'd try again, but it said I was going to be locked out. I had a look around and found the password written down but when I went to try again I was already logged in.......very strange. :-S
I've just had a message from the man who is helping me with OH's family tree and this is what it said about someone I was asking him about
Attached to one of the trees I looked at was the following story;
"The story goes that my grandmother, Selina Ellen Legg, had a sister, Frances Ann, who planned to marry in April 1912 and sail to America the following week. At the last minute the Bishop announced that no weddings could take place during Lent. The wedding was delayed until May and the tickets changed for a later ship the SS Philadelphia.
The original booking, which had to be cancelled, was on the TITANIC. I think it's called divine intervention."
You could of knocked me down with a feather when I read that. Talk about a lucky escape.

Yes it's all come back to me now Mel, I have seen it and it was an oblong bag. More senior moments these days! :-0
Gill, how lucky was she to not be on the Titanic!! What an interesting find and it shows how these things just don't always get passed down the family. Your place must be getting better by the minute with these little tidying up jobs your OH is doing.
Vera I have the same tiles all through in the kitchen, utility and conservatory and porch, also the bathroom and en suite, but it's a much smaller area than yours. I was looking at those motorised floor mops on ebay yesterday and wondered if one would make the job quicker/easier but there seem to be mixed reviews. The steam mop I have is ok on those, although slow, but not on the hard floors in the lounge diner and hall because they are stuck down and the heat can lift them.
It's good your doc is giving you a really good checkup Frank. I had a text from our surgery today to say we can book our flu jabs, so I shall get booked up as I read somewhere there might be a shortage this year. Maybe it was to do with Brexit though so who knows !!
OH is back now and ready to go so will BBL!!

Yes Ann I thought I had sent it.
Gill has your post not come today? I put a first class stamp on it. You may have to help open it up as you have to start with the top one. So Give her the end and tell her to hold it up while you let each one go till the end.
I must do that other thing up for her too. Its a PRE CHRISTMAS present of bits and pieces nothing big and some things I have had a long while. Only trouble is I have to get to a post office with that.
We have no tiled floors here only the bathroom has a hard floor and that easy to mop over.

Well, I finished all my floor cleaning. The tiles were in the house when we moved in and we have thought about having them up and carpeting but they are ideal really because we have underfloor heating. We do have carpet in our downstairs bedroom and the lounge. I had a steam cleaner that used detergent and did clean the tiles nicely but it gave up as soon as the guarantee ran out. We replaced it with one that just uses de-ionised water but it isn't as good. Every so often I get the old squeegee out with a bucket of hot water and Flash and give it a real going over.
Yesterday we had a good sweep up of the paved area in front of our house and garage and the patio and paths round the back and OH was going to spray it with Wet & Forget today but it hasn't been the weather for it so it will all probably need sweeping again before he can do it.
Frank, I hope you are feeling a bit less out of sorts today and I hope that, when you have the blood tests, everything turns out to be fine.
AnninG, I might have a look at the Jet2 brochure as it sounds as though that sort of holiday might suit us. We usually book on a b & b basis, even when we book a really good hotel, because we like to try different places to eat.
It's fascinating what you find out about your family history isn't it Gill. Having to delay the wedding sounds upsetting but it turned out to be such a lucky escape.
That is some tree your neighbour is taking down, Jane. I reckon his little chain saw will be working overtime. I hope he knows what he is doing. When we had to take down a very large tree at our old place we came to an agreement with the farmer who owned the field behind us. He allowed us to drop the tree into his field provided we did it in the couple of weeks between him harvesting one crop and starting to prepare the field for the next. OH has taken down trees but we got the professionals in for that one, not cheap but worth every penny as they not only took the tree down but sawed it all up and stacked the pieces in our log store and took away all the brush.
Is it tomorrow or Friday you go away? Whenever it is, I hope you have a lovely break.
Well I suppose I'd better at least have a think about what we are going to eat tonight. Think I'll have a cuppa first though :-D

Well done Vera and I bet it's all sparkling as tiles do come up like new unlike carpet! I find my back hurts using a mop or broom now and have one of those long handled dustpans and brush. We only have carpet in the 2 bedrooms and study now. Would you believe I've just dropped a sewing needle on the study one and it's a grey fleck so neither of us could see it! :-S I've even used the little hoover all around where I sat and looked through the clear plastic at the dust in it and there's no sign! It didn't flip when I dropped it, just seemed to drop straight down. OH's helpful comment (not!) was that I'll find it when I sit on it.
I was a bit disappointed with what we did at the craft course today. We made felt keyrings/brooches and I made a Robin, but decided to put a ribbon on it to hang it up at Christmas. The best things were little round ones that were flowers and one lady did a toadstool that was nice. Next week we are doing peg weaving and I'm not sure about that either as it is a fabric wall hanging and not my thing! lol. She doesn't mind us doing other craft things if we like so I may take my wool felting and do that instead. :-)

Evening Everyone
I need to get my squeegee mop out Vera and do the Kitchen ,passage and downstairs loo. But I think that will have to wait until we get back. It's all been hoovered and luckily because the tiles are dark they dont look dirty :-D
It will be interesting to see how your blood results are Frank. At least you have been now which is good. Oh Gill how lucky was your ancestor not to have been on the Titanic !!!!!!!!!
I have had quite a hectic day . Garage this morning as the warning light about tyre pressure kept coming on and it didnt matter how often we reset it it still came up. So they took the car in and got it all sorted while I waited. Then it was Aldi to get some wines to take with us to the Cottage ,then pick up my prescription .Popped in to Lidl next to the Surgery and got a lovely Sourdough Loaf. I have not bought bread from there before. So that was this morning . Then this afternoon it was sorting out what I am packing !!!! Can't tell you how long that has taken :-D and I am still going to be doing that tomorrow morning. Chris will sort his clothes in probably half an hour. James has been sorting his packing too today. So it has been all go.
We go on Friday morning . I have to say we are relieved now to know Thomas is at the Cattery even if is 2 days early LOL .We now can just concentrate on getting away with out the worry of knowing if he was going to go AWOL again like last time :-D
Ann, I would do your Wool Felting. You did such a great job with the horse last time.If you don't fancy the Peg Weaving that would be a waste really.
Time for dinner now.

Morning all
I can’t believe I am the first this morning. A bright day here but very breezy and a few black clouds coming over.
We are just off to town. It’s market day today so I want some veg and then I am going to pop in the chemists where I get my meds to see if I can organise a flu jab. Our doctors always have a walk-in day for the jabs but this year it is on the day we are off to Jersey so I’ll see if the chemist can do it.
Then it’s into Wetherspoons to meet up with the group of friends for coffee.
Hope you all have a nice day

I'm the first again.
Good morning to you all, I washing to post at 2.30 this morning, when I gave up trying to sleep. I just got fed up lying in bed. I made a COT and read my book until just after 4.00 am. Couldn't settle, and clocked watched until I got up at 7.00 am. To say the least I feel absolutely shattered
We went to one of our eateries at 4.00 yesterday. I had an Email with a voucher for 40% off food. Too good to miss, and another day, without cooking, was a bonus. I ordered Haddock and fries with peas. Eos had her usual Steak with Peppered sauce. The chef came to the table to apologise that he had no Batter Mix, so I couldn't have my haddock. Instead I settles for SCAMPI. So as not to disappoint me, he put loads more scampi on the plate, than you would normally get. PLUS he ordered drinks for Ros and I on the house for the inconvenience, which I thought was a lovely gesture.
This blooming wind, is bringing so many apples off the tree, I am going to have a great job later going around picking them all up, and sorting any damaged ones. I can see the neighbours near and far, are going to be eating APPLES whichever way they like them. lol lol
That was some great information Gill. How lucky were they. They might have been saved, and would have had a wonderful tale to tell ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ros has a electric steam mop thingy, that she uses in the bathroom, kitchen and conservatory. I remember my MUM getting down on her knees with a bucket of soapy water and scrubbing brush, to do our kitchen (SCULLERY.) how times have changes. lol
So you are already for the off then Jane. I do hope you have a lovely break. Are any of you girls, going away before the weather changes for WINTER. ??
I was looking treat Ros to a Christmas Fair at Chatsworth house on November 19th. I am sure Carolyn or Val would have gone with her. Anyway, I started to print off the information, only to find a box saying "FULLY BOOKED" so that' out of the window.
It's Lewis's 21st on Sept. 25th. We have been putting some money into a ISA for him. It's not the world but it will help him, I am sure. He told me last week, that since he's been working at Valerie"s Pasterirre (SP) he has saved all his earnings, and only spent his tips. He has saved in excess of £20,000.00. I am so proud of him. I am or should I say we, are still looking for a Signet ring, for his Birthday present. He is size "M" so quite small. I think Ros wants to take me to Town when she comes back from "Stitchery Do" to have a look round some jewellers. Not looking forward to that. !!!
Well I had better go and sort out collecting up all these apples. Does anyone want some. ?? lol lol See you later. xxxx

Morning Vera and All,
Just booked our flu jabs too Vera. :-) Hope you find all your veg. It's lovely and sunny here at the moment. Shower next and off to Ullesthorpe Court for their Carvery. I have been round with the cobweb duster this morning. They are everywhere........in the corners just above the floor and on the walls as well as the ceilings. I must get OH to sweep them off the security light outside as well or that will be going on and off at night and me blaming the cats!!
Have a nice day everyone!

I do love your Lewis and am proud of him too!! <3 <3 He's just like I was with his saving, but still enjoying himself with some of his money. :-) That is a good amount he has saved already and I get exasperated with these youngsters who say they can't afford house deposits etc. Often it's just because they have their priorities wrong and spend too much on the latest this or that and don't even bother to try to budget or do extra work etc. Well done and give him a pat on the back from me!! lol. :-D :-D

Morning all,
Late on parade this morning as I overslept. I had the most awful indigestion again last night. A pain right up into my throat and a pain in the back. I had to take a Rennie which seemed to clear some of it but woke this morning still feelingmuch the same so I have taken two Omepasole this monring to see if that clears it.
Hope you all get sone whats planned for today. Not sure if I want our usual F & C tonight but will see how I go during the day.
Frank Lewis is such a good boy saving all that money. How long has he worked for Valeries now? Happy apple picking up frank. I don't have that job in the orchard now as the deer eat them all.
Enjoy your coffee out with friends Vera. You will have gone by now but the thought is there.

I do like Scampi .In fact you have just reminded me I have some in the fridge but it will soon be out of date so I will pass that on to Fitz plus any other fresh stuff that will go off before we get back. I have a whole Pineapple too which has been forgotten about. At least I know Fitz won't refuse to take anything :-D
