Afternoon all
I slept in to Mel so we're both late on parade today. Hope you are feeling a little better now. Sandra is thrilled with the present you sent her, it arrived this morning and is now in her bedroom. Her face lit up when she saw the Flamingos and it's brought some colour to her room. She said to say thank you.
Yes OH's ancestor had a lucky escape not being on the Titanic. She eventually married and went to New York a month later. I have received a copy of a letter today off the man who is helping with OH's tree and it has lots of information about family members, so I'll be going through that and entering more people onto OH's tree later.
We're plodding through all the little jobs at the moment Ann, yesterday I finally sorted out the dining room and boy does it look bigger now all the bits and bobs have been taken out. I still have a bit more to do in there as I'd like to change the furniture, we have big furniture in there and it over powers the room, I do need to sort out the side board first everything and anything has been put in there so it needs seeing to. At least we can see the floor now lol :-D ;-) I think we all have a room things are put into and before you know it, it's full of all sorts. At least it's cleared now and looks much better. All I need to do now is put the screening up then the other room will be tidy again. I need to wait for the wind to die down first otherwise it'll make the job a lot harder.
I wish I had hard floors instead of carpets Vera, it must be a lot easier to clean them and they always look good, whereas carpets wear out and need replacing, plus they are harder to clean. It sounds like you've been busy cleaning all your floors, I bet it looks lovely now it's all done.
Good luck with your blood results Frank, hopefully they'll be able to find out more and help you. Lewis has done well saving all his earnings, is he using it for a deposit on a place of his own?
I see you are all packed and ready for your hols now Jane, It sounds like you all need a break. At least you know Thomas is safe at the cattery now so you won't have to miss out on going away again.
Going to get a cuppa now then check through the letter and fill in some more gaps on OH's tree. It's to cold and windy outside to do the screening today even though the sun is out. The wind was really bad last night, but thankfully nothing got blown around.

All the apples gathered in, and distributed to all and sundry. Some people are out, so I have hung them on the door handles. They will wonder where the apples came from. I even meet an old SKITTLE PAL, who I haven't senior years. He handsome apples too. (That will tech him for stopping and talking to me.) lol lol
I have stewed a large saucepan of apples, so Ros can decide what she wants to do with them. I have also made a Spag. Bol. for tonight, before she goes to Choir. That has come round quickly again.
Young Lewis, is saving for a deposit on a property. Hostile has another year t University , so will continue to work at Valeries until he finds a full time JOB. He has been there for around FIVE YEARS. That came about by his Mum taking him in there for coffee, when he was younger. He saw an Advert for a server, and applied, and got it there and then. He is now Assistant Manager, when he is on duty. So done well for himself. So you can understand why I am such a proud Grandfather. ;-) ;-) ;-)
I think Ros wants to go to town when she comes home, if she does, she will have to go by herself. AS I had a FALL this morning, picking up the apples, and feel a bit SHOOK UP, a bit like ELVIS. :-D :-D :-D I managed to grab the Apple tree to save me going right down, but I have jared my shoulder and knee. Which to say the least, I could have done without.
Jane it's only a PUB we go to, It has had a few bad write ups, but I can honestly say, if it was anything other than very good, I wouldn't still be going there. There are so many eateries around to choose from, but both Ros and are delighted with everything there, apart from just outside the entrance is the SMOKING AREA, and the place STINKS, as you go passed it to get in, and out. It surprises me just how many people still smoke. I am so pleased, that NOT ONE of my Family smoke NOW. Even though Harvey, Conrad, Ros and I did. Simon has never smoked that I know of.
A few dark clouds starting to come over. I hope Jane stays dry, as she's not a million miles away from me.
This BLOOMING computer keeps putting words into sentences that I haven't typed. It's so annoying, that you have to keep checking, what is going on the page. !!!!
Mel, I know you don't have the problem with windfalls, with the deer around, but it seems a shame that you can onlyget apples, that you pick.
Barry has cleared right down Tony's garden by my fence, at the back by the patio. He said he is going to replant it. I hope with things that are lowdown, and he keeps that BINDWEED under control. He has painted his side of my fence this morning, so that will preserve it for the winter. So it looks like he is going keep it tidy. ;-) ;-) ;-)
I just had a couple of small Pork pies, and a coffee. So it will keep the wolves from the door till tonight.
I must go and record her soaps for tonight, so she can watch them when I have gone to bed, which tonight won't be that late. I am dozing off sitting here. lol lol

Frank I don't only get apples. I have a victoria plum out the front with the bramley out there and just outside the arch I have two damson trees of which I am picking from at the moment. I have a nice lot of blackberries growing in different places around the garden and the overgrown bit so I do ok really and so does Em and family next door.
I think oh is watching the back of his eyelids so I am going to have a little craft session.
The wind outside is quite chilly today and I have a sleeveless fleece on and have to put a coat on when I go to the girls.
Did I tell you I lost another old girl about two days ago? I am down to 4 now, two old ones and the two newer ones. that reminds me I could ring Loraine and see when the next chuck out is. Think I will have 6 this time.

Ros is back and has gone out again to see if she can find a SIGNET RING for Lewis's Birthday. He said he will get it engraved at a shop next to Valeries. He's got to know the chaps in there, and they don't charge him for spare keys, so won't charge him for engraving the ring. He does seem to get along with everyone.
I did buy a signet ring on line, but it's not hall marked, and doesn't look very good quality, so Ros is posting that back this afternoon. I hope she finds another. It will save me looking, buying and returning. !!!!
I have just bought a new bracelet for her, that she saw on QVC. So now I have an account with them as well as Ros, not that I am likely to use it again. I did buy her a necklace at Brackley last weekend, so the two of them will be her Birthday Presents. The one I bought at the weekend, she is wearing, and got a lot of coments about it today at "Stitchery Do"
The Bl22dy computer is adding more words that I haven't typed, so if you see one that I haven't picked up, I apologise.
Well the weather has stayed fine for you all. I hope Jane enjoyed her much with Fitz, and doesn't forget to give him the things from the fridge. JANE DON'T FORGET.
Vals son hasn't been today,so the DECKING hasn't had any more done to it. I think Tony mentioned that he was expecting another delivery of boarding. So if it arrives, he might get it finished over the weekend.
Thinking of booking a table again for Sunday at the Carvery. I'm getting use to not cooking, and as I said there's not a lot of difference in cost, when you take everything into consideration.
I must have a word with Conrad and Harvey, to see what they want me to do, about booking a table for Ros's birthday. I know Conrad said he will drive down from Birmingham, where he has an exhibition on the Thursday through till Sunday. I need to know if Harvey, Julia and Lewis will be joining us on that evening. Harvey isn't returning from France until the 8yh Sept.
Did anyone see where that poor man and his wife found an Egyptian Illegal hiding in his luggage box, on top of his car It seems he and friends emptied out all his cloths, shoes, boots, camera and other things out, for them to sell and also make room for him to get in ro get to this Country. Little BAS@@@DS, aren't slow, in coming forward, are they. ??? So watch out if you are driving abroad. I must warn Harvey, as the rear of his truck could house THREE OR FOUR. !!!! That would really shake him, to find them, but I wouldn't want to be in their shoes, if anyone did. ;-) ;-) ;-) There was another illegal, who jumped from a lorry on the M 25 over the last few days. They will try anything to get here.
Sun is very warm, through the window, so will go and open the conservatory door, to let some air in.

Don't worry about he spelling mistakes Frank. I can work them out :-D :-D My laptop does just just the same in putting in really random words . it is so bloo** annoying :-S
Mel no you didn't mention losing another old girl :-( How long ago was it when you had the last lot of rescue ones?
The sun seems to have goen here now for the day. We sat out for lunch and had a good old blether with Fitz. .He did go off with all our cast off food ,but I forgot to give him the runners :-S. Chris has gone for a litte snooze. I have just hoovered through the lounge with the cordless vaccum ,but I can't seem to get the long pipe bit off so I can empty the dirt container .I have struggled for ages but have now left if for Chris to deal with :-D James is upstairs cleaning the main bathroom (he is the only one who uses it ) so that is his job :-D :-D. I am not cleaning anything else now . What hasn't been done will just have to stay as it is for now :-D The house really needs a deep clean what with all the dirt that has got in with all the works going on since April. What with that and the Spiders and Webs its awful :-| :-|
I am cheesed off with all these scam call we are getting at the moment . Yesterday was the one about HMRC and we apparently have an arrest warrent in place .FGS someone needs to stop these people. We know it is a scam but for other people it will scare them half to death and they would ring back and then be done :-S :-S

We could do with a deep clean here too Jane! lol What with hips and knees it's been hard to do a really good one this year hasn't it. I keep wishing I could manage to do some decorating again as most rooms need redoing. It's good you've been able to get your packing all done and hope you have a great break and rest to recharge your batteries. :-D
Mel that was a shame losing another old girl. Lets hope you can rescue another batch before long and give them a happy retirement. :-)
Frank I hope Ros has some success finding a nice signet ring for Lewis' 21st. My word it doesn't seem long since he was a boy!! We never did see a photo of him now he's grown up........I bet he's a handsome young man now. He's done well to become an Assistant Manager in his part time job and that will impress on his CV when he looks for a full time job. ;-) What have you done with your stewed apples? I have some here to do but I think I shall freeze them in small batches. They are bramleys and make nice apple sauce, although they are nice with custard as well.
Gill our 'dumping room' is here in the little study. It's the place for the homeless things! I think things land in here faster than I can clear them up so it doesn't seem to ever be how I'd like it. ONCE we get the garage cleared out, as we can't get the cars in there, we thought we'd get a tall metal cabinet each (mouseproof!) and keep things we don't often use in there out of the way.
I've just picked two bowlfuls of tomatoes as they are coming thick and fast just now. I must get some frozen as we won't eat all of them.

Evening all,
It's been quite a nice day here ,we sat out this afternoon and it was really warm in the sun ,there was a bit of hazy cloud at times but still nice .
Mel sorry yes i did see the bag you made ,i like the plaited strap, i'm now making a little purse to go with Lacey's bag and also have another bag in yellow on the go and that one is for Katie . So you've lost another one of your old ladies i see ,at least she had a few extra years which she wouldn't have done if you hadn't taken her in .
Frank how good is Lewis saving all that money well done to him . It's so annoying when odd words come up that you haven't typed ,i find it happens more when i use my tablet .
Don't talk about cleaning ,i don't seem to have really had a good clean up for ages ,mind you with spending lots of time in the garden we haven't been in that much ,i did go round with the cobweb brush the other day and i have done the bathrooms but the bedrooms could do with a good going over I usually hoover through each day as Max's hair is every where and having the fans going it goes across the floor like tumble weed :-D
So all packed then Jane ,have a really relaxing week and i hope the weather stays fine for you and i hope James has a good time away with Hannah too.
Ann that's good you can take your own things to do at the craft course ,i had to goggle the peg weaving and i don't think it would be some thing i would do either but it will give you a chance to get some wool felting done . I hope you find the sewing needle , did you have slippers on ? could it have dropped into your slipper ? You need a little magnet to go over the carpet that might find it .
I had a bit of a weed in the front garden this morning just to fill a tub up to take and we wanted to take some other bits to the tip ,one of them being my Microwave ,it just paced up but we have had it several years so a new one is now on the shopping list ,i really don't cook much in it i only use it to heat things up like soup and beans oh and milk for the coffee some times .

Another hot day here of just strolling around by the sea, no wind and the sea very calm. Omelette toastier for lunch then walked back to sit and read in the sun until for the first time this week it clouded over at 5pm.
Frank this is not a particularly cheap holiday. Room only 15 days £1600+. Including flights and transfers in Lanzarote.
We are wondering how many of our apples are down.

I had to write that to get to the last page.
All packed and ready for the off then Jane. I do hope you have a good time and weather as you both deserve this little break. Hope James enjoys his too with Hannah.
Mandy did Katie choose the colour ofr her bag or was it just wool you had? I would like to see the purse too please?
Another nice day of wandering around then Ann and some nice veiws sounds like your having a nice relaxing time.
Iv'e been trying to get some ideas to make some omore of those cones I did last year. I have found a nice big twig and am going to put it in a pot to display the tree hangings on when I have the stall at Christmas. Yes I shall do it again this year but I am trying to ifnd small things to make so the children can afford them, something the children would like too. They seem to go mad for the stalls with the jars of sweets on. I may make some melted snowman biscuits just before if I have the time.
Mmanddy I think I only had those last two new girls this year. One lays well and the other dos'nt. The one that dos'nt is the one I picked cos I felt sorry for her being a bit bald and she came up to me and voiced her oppinion and thats the one I call Voice.
I ran Lorain today but the are not clearing out until April or May. She did say she had two that keep getting out and going in their garden and laying away. She had to put them back in this morning so she said if they get out again and she can catch them I can have those two but they will cost me a lot more than a £1 each. I offered her £5 each so now I am waiting for a call from her. The egg money will pay for the new two is I get them and they will soon earn their keep.

Mel I hope you don't have another night of indigestion after the F&C! They are nice though. lol I was silly and had some choccy last night and had to get an extra pillow to prop me up as I had indigestion too. My evening tablet can have a it of that effect anyway, but with choccy on top it was asking for trouble.I shouldn't even be having choccy. That's a great idea to use the twig to hang things on for your stall Mel.
I checked my slippers Mandy, but nothing there! That will be nice for the girls to have a bag each and in different colours so they don't get them mixed up. :-) I can just imagine Max's fur rolling along the floor. :-S I wonder if pets get itchy when they start losing their fur? It's making me itchy thinking about it.
Off to bed now. Beading in the morning and I have started a kind of rope for a necklace.

Morning all,
Dullish morning here with grey skies. The deer have been sitting up the garden, well mum has while baby was in the orchard eating the apples then it decided to have a lie down by the box hedge right away from mum.
No indigestion last night but I only had the fish and chips with a little salt on and no vinegar or picles. Have taken two omep this morning so should be ok now.
Loraine has'nt rung to say she has caught the two escapease so perhaps they have stayed in today. I hope they escape again so I can have them.
Ann I have never made a beaded rope is it easy?
Hope Frank and Vera had a better night last night and got some sleep and that Jane has got away ok without forgetting anything.

Morning all
Dull and damp here today, next door is drilling a banging again, I could see him from Sandra's bedroom window and it looks like he's putting some electrics in for something. He put a security light up the other day so gawd knows what he's doing now. He is always doing something to the side fence, we'll be glad when he's finished with all the noise. So long as he leaves our side alone we're not bothered, it's just the drilling all the time that's a nuisance.
Hope the weather is better than here for your holiday Jane, have a great time and safe journey. Hope Hannah and James have a nice time away to. I know what you mean about all the dust coming in, we had the same problem when next door was having his place done, no sooner have you cleaned up the dust it's back again. I found a damp cloth worked.
I like rope necklaces Ann, it's good you can do what what you want at your classes if there's something one week you don't fancy doing. Yes we call the spare room a dumping ground but some things had ended up in the dining room as well, so now it's all clear and looks much better.
Did you see my message yesterday Mel from Sandra thanking you for her little pressie, she's thrilled with it and it's in her bedroom now. Sorry to hear you've lost another one of your girls, hope you can get the six you want soon.
Going to check my bath now before it overflows.

good morning to you all,
Jane will be off soon, so hope she has a nice time. Enjoy your break and the WINE. lol
Ann, I must try to find an uptodate photo of Lewis. He is as tall as me, 5 ft 10 inches or may be bigger. He has grown a stubby beard, which Ros says all the boys seem to be doing at his age.
Spag. Bol. wasn't up to scratch last night. Most of it ended up down the loo. It seemed to be missing something, that I just could't put my finger on it.
Ros is having her nails done at 1,00 pm today. I don't need anything for dinner tonight, so the bits we need she can get tomorrow when she meets Martine.
Mel, You are so lucky to have such an abundant of fruit trees, to pick the fruit as you want it. We had lots of fruit trees at Gayton. But now only the Bramley Apple tree. IT'S the best year by far, for fruit. I have stewed one saucepan full down and will do more and more. It will all go in the freezer, for apple sauce and apple crumble. Ros picked a bowl of Cultivated blackberries yesterday, so I can see a B.B. and apple pie appearing any time soon. Lovely !!!
I have been having a bit of indigestion, so the Gaviston has come in handy.
Eos bought me a HORSESHOE shaped Hot water bottle, for my neck. I fill it with HOT water, and place it round my neck while reading or watching T.V. I do feel that it eases the neck and shoulder pain. I was glad of it last night, as my neck and shoulders were quite painful after my trip yesterday.
Vals son is here this morning, I hope he is able to finish the decking, so we can say goodbye, to all this drilling and banging.(I do love my peace and quiet)
Horrible morning here, very windy and lots of cloud cover. So no sitting out today.
AnninG, thanks for that info. As you say not cheap, but nice to have your independence, to come and go as you like. I suppose we are spoil with having Conrad in Spain. I know we can go anytime for as long as we want, I do try to pay my way, by paying for meals out and Ros paying for groceries when he goes shopping with Jan.
I must tell you. LOLA is back with Conrad. The vets have been unable to rehome her, We suggested he gets her a passport and brings her to the U.K. where we would have a better chance of rehoming, through one of the DOG CHARITIES. But he seems to love having her back, and when he has to come back here, for exhibitions etc. He has someone to "DOG SIT" So we know she will be well loved and looked after. He's such a softie. <3 <3 <3
Steaks for this evening with all the trimmings, It won't take me long to prepare, so I can have an easy day. I must do some watering though, and pick some more apples.
Mandy, I keep forgetting you, how is Colin doing, and the grandchildren. They are back to school now, so a bit of peace for you both, even though you love them to death, it's nice when they go home. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Take care all, see you later. xxxx

We've just had a massive downpour of rain, so the neighbour has gone in now......peace at last ;-)
It does sound like Conrad is a softy where Lola is concerned Frank, so it looks like she has finally got her forever home with him. The hot water bottle sound just the thing, I've never heard of one that shape before, I must keep an eye out for one as OH has a twisted spine from an accident as a child and he's now got a bad neck, it plays him up when it's cold and damp so it would be ideal for him. Pleased to see it's working for you.
Yes, Sandra loves her Flamingo's. I thought you were doing something else for Christmas I didn't realise you were sending it sooner, I'll keep an eye out for it when you let me know it's been posted. She was only saying the day the present arrived that she doesn't get any post so will be pleased as punch when another present turns up for her. You are so kind thank you. Fancy the Robin coming into your place it sounds like you both gave each other a fright at the same time. Hope you manage to get your washing dry now it's started to rain, do you have a dryer? I've got lots of washing to get through and I still haven't rang to get our dryer fixed yet, I keep forgetting until it's time to use it again, so I must route the number out and ring them before the guarantee runs out. I think there's only a few months left on it.
Just had a lovely soak in the bath and feel all warm and cosy now.
I had a message from a woman regarding OH's tree, she has put an attachment onto it so I'll go and take a look now.

Well done your grandson Frank. Do tell him to be careful about buying a property and make sure that it doesn't have too much of a garden! If we get a labour government they may well introduce a Land Value Tax which will take the place of the Council Tax! People with large gardens and/or land, even agricultural land may well be clobbered with huge hikes on their council bill. Its worth a thought !
