The rain has eased off here too .
Ann I think the fat quarters and tie dye kit was on for Thursday ,in the leaflet the fat quarters were in pale colours ,blues in one pack and pinks in the other but there might be more colours not shown in the leaflet .

Afternoon all, light rain most of the morning while we were in Cheltenham, we went to pick up the euros for September which we had ordered on line. Even though there were umbrellas everywhere there were still a lot of people about. We didn't really buy anything except a new fridge thermometer (all of £3.99).
Just been making a good luck card for second Grandson who leaves his job in a pie/sandwich shop today and starts at his own sandwich and pie shop on Monday Proud that he wants to strike out on his own but a bit nervous for him.
The sun is out now and the temp is 18 degrees.
Annx On the way to Cheltenham on the bus in the rain I remarked to OH how sad it was for anyone getting married today after all the nice weather we have had.
Any luck Mel?
Jane hope you had a good lunch. I remember when daughter's OH had his hip op he went from two crutches to one crutch and then to a a stick.
Frank, pleased that the concert went well.

Afternoon all
I woke around 4.30am with another migraine, I've now worked out why I keep waking up with them and it's the fan blowing on my head all night. I felt so bad with it that I got up and sat outside for a while then came back in and slept on the sofa until 10.30am. I then went outside and sorted the garden out as my headache had gone by then. While I was in the middle of moving the bluebell climbers out of the greenhouse and putting them to the back of the border the heavens opened and I got soaked, so off I went for a warm bath and did some washing. I've had to use the dryer to dry the clothes as it didn't stop raining and it's still raining now. The garden will love it. OH and Sandra took the grass cuttings down the tip as they were starting to smell in the plastic bags in the wheelie bin, then OH cleaned the bin so it smells better now. The two of them got wet in the rain so they had bath's and now I'm doing more washing. So all in alll a very busy day.
I hope you did well at the show Mel, can't wait to hear all about it.
Brilliant news about you not having to use your crutches in the house Jane, it sounds like you are coming on in leaps and bounds now. How is Fitz coming along? Pleased to see Thomas is back now, that'll save you worrying.
That air con must of been very cold if you needed a cardi Ann. How did you get on framing the horse picture and making the other earring?
I agree with you AnnG how sad it would be for anyone marrying today after all the lovely weather we've had lately. Pleased to see your freezer is working okay now. Good luck to your second Grandson in his new venture.
I'm so pleased your OH has managed to walk 200 yards Vera, you both must be so chuffed. I hope he carries on improving.
It sounds like you had a good nights sleep last night Frank. Pleased to hear the concern went well.
I bet it's been bliss going in your pool Mandy I was thinking of you through the heat wave and wishing we had a pool we could of jumped in to.

Here I am £5.10p better off.
Did'nt get anything for my two cards or my two beaded tree baubles with the little angel pom pom as they said it was a shame they were'nt all beaded baubles but said it was good bead work and second for my three wooden candles and the comment from the judge was "good use of the nuts and I may copy this idea". Got second for my three rabbits, first and second for my two bookmarks, Third for my slow gin, first and second for my mistletoe brooch and the moon gazing hare, and First for my drawing of the horses head and a CUP and rossette.
Its been a beautiful day here very bareable with plenty of sunshine.
Must get dinner now as oh has been on his own all afternoon as I had to stay to the end for the prize giving as I had won a cup.

You did really well, I'm so pleased for you after all your hard work. I've been waiting to hear how you got on. Sandra says well done too.
It's finally stopped raining here, so the gardens can have a break as it was raining for hours. Pleased to see you had better weather than us for the show Mel.

Morning all
Raining here today, which means it's very quiet with all the neighbours indoors, so no screaming children with footballs over the back and no knocking and banging from the four male neighbours, two either side of us, building and fixing things all the time. I don't know who's the worse, the men or the children. All I can hear now are the birds singing, the rain gently hitting the window and the church bells in the distance....Bliss <3
I came across an obituary on findagrave and it mentioned the couple I was doing, having nine children, so I'll be putting them on OH's tree today. Luckily, apart from the last one, all the children have birth dates and one or two have death dates, so they shouldn't take to long to do.
Looking forward to seeing all the pics Mel, once your OH has sorted out your PC. Those hogs sound a lot like the two in our garden and don't they make a funny noise with it. It's sounds like grunting.

Morning all,
You must be really chuffed with all those placings Mel well done to you , you put a lot of work and time into making all those lovely things ,looking forward to seeing the photos .
Been raining here over night ,it's still quite muggy out ,not much wind this morning .
The church bells are ringing away they sound lovely when they get going ,not so much when they first start as it's just dong dong dong for a while ,it's church service at ten .

Well done Mel :-D :-D
Raining here still. It’s been like this on and off since Friday night. Every so often it stops for an hour or so, then starts again. Last week I wanted rain, now I want the sun back. Never happy are we?
Seeing Gill’s and Mandy’s mention of church bells made me think how seldom I hear bells round here. The church is no distance as the crow flies, only about 5 minutes walk away, but I hardly ever hear the bells. Perhaps they haven’t got anyone to ring them.
Must get on with some jobs. Might be back later. Have a good day whatever you are doing.

Morning all,
I think the weather here is about the same as AnnG's we have sunshine and a bit of a wind.
I slept well last night but still feel tired this morning it must have been all the walking about I did yesterday afternoon.
When I got back yesterday and started to put my bits away I had'nt got my three rabbits pic. I had'nt seen it when I collected the other things so had to go rushing back to the school to get it and when I got in the classroom it was all clear and nothing in sight. I went to the hall and asked someone and they said Ann from the shop had it. When she packed her things up it was the only thing there and she knew it was mine so she put it with her things. I was so relieved it was safe as I had visions of someone walking off with it.
Good luck on the tree today Gill and hope you find whatever you're looking for to add to your tree.

Afternoon Everyone Who's a clever girl then. Congrats Mel for your entries doing SO well in the show.I am really pleased for you.
Well it is still raining here like with Vera. It has been non stop now for a couple of days. It's miserable. No Church Bells here. There are no churches near enough for us to hear any bells.
Gill, it is so quiet here too. No-one in their gardens with mowers, hedge cutters and no DIY racket going on next door. Even the A14 is silent. No works either up the road. The silence is just bliss :-D :-D
We had a smashing lunch yesterday. It was just a small lunch menu . I had the best Cheese and Ham Omelette I have ever had with a few chips and a bit of salad .I dont like to have salad on the same plate as my hot food though. Chris had the house Beef Burger which was delicious(I had a little taste) The flavour of it was amazing. I then finished off with 1 scoop of Mint Choc chip ice cream and Chris had some kind of Cheesecake which came with a scoop of Vanilla Ice cream. This is a place we will definitely be visiting again :-D Mandy I have more or less relieved Chris of his Chefs Duties now.I think to say he is pleased about that is probably an understatement :-D. I still need him though to maybe help get things out from the bottom of the cupboards(eg big heavy frying pan ) and to sometimes take things out of the oven . Hoovering is still his job and carrying out the basket of washing and hanging out on the line.I feel happier now that I can actually do things rather than sitting just giving orders. One job I did ask him to to this morning was to take of the raised loo seats and give them a good clean :-D :-D.
It is my Sisters Wedding Anniversary today so I sent a message. She replied thanking me and saying it was clever of me to remember as Larry didn't !!! Hope he isnt in the doghouse. I only remebered as I had it on the calendar :-)
Hannah said a while ago she wanted to take me out somewhere once I am fully mobile. She has booked a Matinee at somewhere in London for Sept 28th (won't tell me what the show is) and then we will go for a meal afterwards.I may stay over or come home . I can decide that nearer the time. She may have had enough of me by the evening LOL
Did you all see that Wimbledon email that FRank sent the other day? It was just so funny.
Has anyone heard from Anne lately? She hasnt posted for so long now.

Afternoon all,
Jane I only sent that Wimbledon thing to you, as I know you follow tennis. If anyone wants to see it, Jane will have to send it, as I have lost it.
Rain through the night and showers here today, down right miserable. For any of you who've the SUN you are lucky. !!!
Roast legs pork is already for the oven, Vegetables all prepared and Pudding made. NOT forgetting the CHEESE SAUCE. Jane. !!!
The lawns are looking a right old mess, I think I will have to try to do them myself tomorrow, if it's dry. Our mint in the BELFAST SINK is starting to go over, so that will need replacing soon. Can't do without my mint in the spuds and mint sauce with the lamb.
I need to water and fed the tomato's as well. When it's raining like this the greenhouse soon gets forgotten.
Ros is Jewellery making at the moment. She had some new stones arrive yesterday and is making more necklaces. She could sink a battleship with all she has already, but still keeps making more. lol lol ;-) ;-) ;-)
Congratulations to Auntie Mel, I knew you would be a successful entrant in the show. You make so many lovely things. xxx
Jane I have been to that pub in Grafton Underwood. Do you still have to drive thought the arch, and gated bit, to get into the village. ?? it's got to be in the 60s who I was there.
Gill I hope you are felling a little better this afternoon. I,thank goodness have never suffered with migraines,
I need to get some mint in for the new potatoes. and start warming up the oven, ready for dinner around 4.00ish. Might get back later. xxxx

Have a a bit of the bottom cupboard out looking for the Maxicrop. Could'nt find it and I ws susre it was in there so I cleaned the plastic box I had in there and threw a few things out like old rubber gloves used for the garden and some dried peas I have used some of to grow pea shoots and various other bits I always though may come in usefull. Went out to the shed to put something in there and moved a bottle of slug pellets and there it was!! Silly old girl I should have looked in there in the first place. Anyway the toms had a dose of that so thats different to the normal tom fertilizer which is what I used to do in the tunnel.
Apart from that I have done our big breakfast and watched the race and done scones and cream with strawberry jam and a cuppa and now I am blimmin hot.......
Sun is still blazing away out there.

Frank leave the lawns for Barry .The ground is going to be too wet for mowing anyway if you havehad the same rain as us here. Cheese Sauce :-D :-D.. Just love it but not with a roast . I just think it doesn't go with gravy !!. I have cheese sauce with fish or a Cauliflower Cheese which I love with sausages.
I will forward the Wimbledon email to the others Frank as I think they will all find it funny.I just thougtt it was so funny and at such as Wimbledon!!!!.I am surprised it was allowed to go on for so long There is no pub in Grafton Underwood now Frank. This place is called Sage and Brook and is in what would have been an old cottage.
