Just a quick post to let you know I've not been well for the past few days and still feel ill so I might not be on here for a bit. I've had a sickness bug, but thankfully the sickness has stopped now but it's left me feeling very tired and my tummy is sore.

I've answered your PM Vera, sorry I was late replying. Sandra is pleased to know her card arrived for you both and that you have put it where it can be seen everyday. She also pleased none of the little diamonds around the edge have come off, she was worried they might.

Our TV finally gave up the ghost today so OH is going to see if he can get a smaller spare one we've got to work tomorrow. At least Sandra's TV is working, so she won't miss any of her programmes she records.

I ended up in tears this morning with not feeling well then the TV not working and Sandra gave me a lovely hug......bless her. She's so thoughtful

We have wall to wall sunshine today and a clear blue sky. It would be shopping day but at least its nice and cool in Morrisons which is a blessing.

I have to get my stuff together for the show as the entries have to be in by tomorrow evening and its all a bit of a rush now.

Wall to wall sunshine here, and Sooooo HOT. All doors and windows open. I'm all showered and shaved, and in just a pair of shorts.

Ros had Grapefruit for breakfast. It's something I have never really liked, especially first thing in the morning. I am yet to eat. I am doing a lasagne for tonight with the cold beef over from Sunday. I will whiss it up in the little mincer thing, and go from there. I will get Ros to do one of her salads.

When at the opticians yesterday, I had to make an appointment for Thursday to have those horrible drops in my eyes, and then have the photo's taken. I hate having that done, you can't see properly for a few hours.

How is James this morning. I hope his toe is not too painful. Not the best thing to stub your toe on. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Ros is ironing all the bedding from yesterdays wash, together with a few coloureds that were in the basket. She will be glad to get it finished and get showered. She must be very uncomfortable, do that this weather. She's not out with Carolyn today, as Carolyn and John have some business to sort out with the bank. She's not sure how long it will take, so they are going out tomorrow.

Just thinking, we will be having the kittens mid August, when Harvey goes to France. We will have to be very careful not to leave any doors or big windows open, as I am sure they would be off like a rocket. I would never forgive myself if anything happened on my "WATCH".

Nothing planed for today, so another day doing nothing. lol lol. Hope whatever you are doing, you do it safely, and enjoy your day. xxxx

Afternoon all

Feeling a little better today, although I'm hot, but that's down to the weather. It's sunny and very hot today. Sandra and I are catching up with some recordings off Sky, luckily I have it going through to my bedroom, so at the moment I've shut the curtains as it's south facing and we have two fans blowing on us from each side of the room. OH is taking the nails out of the wood we got off the builder the other week, but has promised me he'll stop if it gets to much.

Sandra loves the photo of the kitten's Frank........talk about cute and we loved the caption attached :-D :-D :-D Hope your toes are feeling better today and you don't have to much bruising. I gave Sandra a hug from you. She smiled and said thank you.

Let's hope the hot weather continues so the children can go in your pool Mandy. It's times like this when I wish we had a swimming pool, it must be lovely to jump in on hot days. Does Max have a dip when he gets hot?

Hope you're not to hot in your stockings Jane, at least you have a little hole for ventilation which I'm sure helps. How is Jorge doing, he'll be used to this hot weather. How is our ear now? I think there's a pattern forming where Thomas is concerned, he always seems to disappear when it's hot, then comes back again if it rains, so I wouldn't worry to much Jane, I know it's easier said than done though. Fancy your key fitting someone else house, that could of been a bit of a worry if the other neighbours Knew about it. I think I would of been tempted to change the locks. At least you got your cat back so that was lucky.

How is Bob today Vera, I hope the painkiller are working again and he's had a good nights sleep?

Hope you've had a better nights sleep to Ann, there's nothing worse than no sleep, especially if it's for a day or two, it makes you feel awful doesn't it?

Going to carry on watching the programmes with Sandra now, she's been very patient waiting for me. I noticed WDYTYA was mentioned as starting last night, unfortunately I didn't see the post until it was half way through so I missed it. I scanned through the programmes for the following week and found it repeats on Thursday night 11.15pm so it's now on the planner for OH and I to watch before the second one comes on. Sandra's not keen on it so will watch something else she'll of recorded for herself.

Its really hot here too and oh went in the hot tub this morning and was so hot he wished he had gone in earlier this morning. He gets up early so should have gone in before the sun was up.

We are just back from lunch out for OH's birthday, We both had fish and chips (Beefeater), but my portion of chips was huge, much too much for me so I left half of them

As he is a member of their rewards club OH had a free meal. He also had enough points fro a free bottle of wine so we had one small glass and brought the rest home.

HOT,HOT,HOT. There is the slightest of breezes, but not cooling anything down.

I have made the lasagne and cheese sauce, which I have put on, and covered it with grated cheese. If it tastes as good as it looks, I will be well pleased.

Glad that Sandra likes the kittens photo. I will send any that Harvey sends us, so she will see how they grow.

I would have thought the last thing you need in this heat, is a dip in the HOT TUB. But I expect he enjoyed it, so thats good. We just don't have enough room on the patio to have one, but I know it would get plenty of use from me.

AnninG. I can't remember if we go to our local Beefeater. By the sound of the size of your meal. One between two, would be the best option, with an extra Fish. Nice that you had enough points for a bottle of Wine. I can see our Jane will be joining the club, as she likes her little tipple. <3 ;-) ;-) <3

I see Boris is the new P.M. I wish him all the best with the negotiations, of getting us out of BREXIT. I see TRUMPS wife has sent her best wishes. !!!!

Afternoon All,

The lasagne sounds tasty Frank! We have had something really easy for lunch as it was too hot to go out for lunch, haddock in an onion and mustard sauce with swede and carrot mash and mushy peas! I've cooked down some rhubarb and we may have that later with custard. I'll put stevia in the rhubarb rather than sugar to help my waistline. Yes, thanks for passing on the kitten photos. They are so gorgeous and look full of mischief.

Gill I'm glad you are feeling better today and hope your telly can soon be fixed for you. Taking it easy in this heat is a good idea. I took a while to get off to sleep but slept like a log last night. I had just a sheet on me and the window is usually open all year round unless it is minus 5 outside.

Mel, that is a gorgeous picture you have made so well and really captures the liveliness! I hope you can find your mistletoe brooch in time to enter it in the show too. I have been out this morning in the nice cool Co-op! I also went to the picture framing shop a friend told me about and got a nice mount for the frame I'm putting the horse in. I need to trim it down slightly to fit the frame but it cost a third of what it would online too so I was quite chuffed.

OH managed to level up the holes on the front where he dug the shrubs out and then cover with plum slate to match the rest so that looks better now.

It's been nothing but noise here the past few days. In Jean's old bungalow the new people had someone start a pneumatic drill up at the edge of the garage door before 8.00am! They were still drilling at lunchtime when we went out. Today a huge concrete mixer turned up and unloaded down a pipe into the garage. The garage is built as part of the bungalow so I wonder if there has been a damp problem. Of course all the noise sets the Shih Tzu barking, but the little Westie the other side is as good as gold and we know she is outside.

I hope Bob is a bit better today Vera. It sounds like he really needs all his tablets for a while longer. We have our blinds and curtains shut on the front in the morning, then at the back in the afternoon when the sun moves round.

I'm quite glad the craft thing ended last week as it would be far too hot for me tomorrow. I'm quite envying Mel and Mandy their hot tub and pool just now as it must be so nice in the water when it's this hot! Have you been in yet Mandy?? :-D

Forgot to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your OH AnnG. It's good to get these treats when you belong to loyalty schemes. The meal you had sounds very good value. Nothing gets left when I don't finish it as OH will manage what I leave as well. I got a free blow dry at my hairdressers for my birthday which was a nice surprise. :-)

My OH will usually finish my chips but even he said he'd had enough the portion was so big and the chips were chunky ones as well. And the heat didn't help of course. Still we don't need much tonight now.

Pleased to see you had a good nights sleep last night Ann. We've started leaving our bedroom window open day and night now, otherwise it's to hot to sleep. Your OH is brave doing gardening in this heat, I hope he had plenty to drink and didn't stay out to long. I watered the greenhouse this morning and it was getting hot in there so I dread to think how hot it's going to be later when I need to water the toms again. I might leave it until the sun starts to go down. Sandra said to put some sun cream on or he'll burn his face.......bless her, she's always thinking of other people isn't she? That was nice of the hairdressers to give you a free blow dry for your birthday, how kind. That was a spot of luck the craft class ending, it would of been so hot to go tomorrow. Sorry to hear of all the noise so early in the morning. Let's hope it doesn't last to long.

We're almost finished watching the recordings from last night, I just went outside with OH for some fresh air and it was far to hot to sit out. It's lovely and cool in comparison indoors.

I can't believe your OH went in the hot tub today Mel, no wonder he was hot. It said on the weather it's going to be 43 degrees in Paris on Thursday or Friday, I don't envy them. It's 26 degrees in our bungalow and much hotter outside and that's to much for me. I'm sitting between two fans at the moment so it feels much cooler, until I move away from the fans that is and the bedroom curtains are still shut, which is keeping the sun from coming in through the window.

Well, the people who are digging up the road for the new gas pipe called around before to let us know they will be starting on Monday. OH showed them around our bungalow as they thought they might have to dig up our drive or garden to lay new pipes, but after speaking with OH they don't think that will be the case now as our gas pipe is yellow (newer than the metal ones), so they should be able to just connect the new gas pipe from the road to ours. I really hope that is the case as I wasn't looking forward to them damaging my gardens. The woman who came around fell in love with our back garden, saying how lovely and big it was and also the front garden too. :-)

Afternoon All

My hands are so hot my fingers are sticking to the keys. It is stifling hot and far to hot for me to sit out for more than a few minutes. Like you Gill I am beside the fan .I can't believe it is going to be hotter still tomorrow and Thursday.I have the hairdressers on thursday morning at 10 so at least I will be in and out before the midday heat. I must remember to take my flappy fan with me as I dont know if there is aircon at the salon in Geddington. I am going to that one instead of the one in town as there are some really steep steps up to the sinks and I dont want to be struggling wit hthe crutch to get up them.

Gld you are feeling ok now Gill.Was it ia bit of a bug you had?

Gill you must be so relieved that your garden will not be affected with the new Gas Pipe going in. I know it has been worrying you.

Mel I loved the Rabbits in the frame :-D. Is this an entry for the show? Did you say everything has to be entered by this evening or tomorrow evening? Can the hot tub not be adjusted to lower the temp of the water so it would be more refreshing in this heat.
I have just put a Hot Water Bottle in the freezer ready to pop in my bed later :-D I know there is another bottle somewhere but I just can't find it.

Thomas is gone again. You are right Gill he does this when it is hot. But I would like him to just put in an appearence just so I know he is ok. He can go off again then if he wants.

How is OH Vera. I do hope he is being sensible and taking his tablets. The trouble is if he doesn't then the pain will not help with being able to do the walks and exercises .
I make sure I take mine regularly although `i have been able to reduce them somewhat now.

I was so hot when I started to put the shopping away I went and found our fans and have one on my desk now blowing at me. I feel all itchy and can't wait to have a nice shower tonight.

Oh has curry tonight and I have liver and bacon and mash.

I'm pleased your eeling betternow Gill and have managed to watch your programs in the cool of the house.

My car read 29 degrees when I went out today but it was lovely in the shop ntill I came out when the het hit me. I had parked the car in the shade and left a tiny bit f each window open and the breeze was blowing across the car and I was surprized just how cool it was inside compared to where I usually park in the blazing sun. It does mean I have to walk a bit further across the car park AND I had a dodgey trolly today with one wheel that would'nt go round but I was in the shop with shopping in it before I realized. Not going last week I had to get lots of stuff this week and heavy stuff at that.

Yes my Tinners rabbits are for the show and I have to put all my entries in but tomorrow evening. Guess what ? I opened the draw next to my side of the bed to put my old nationwide book away and there staring at me was my beaded mistletoe so thats found now. If I could only find my moon staring hare brooch that woud go in too but so far neither of them have turned up.

When I got the fan out guess whats stuck on it from last year or the year before? Its one of the stickers of an elephant Sandra put on a card she sent me. I think its one of the tickers she got at Chester Zoo Gill. Its pink with a blue ear and toes.

Vera I hope Bob is beign sensible and taking his meds. My oh is just the same and usually wnats to reduce the dose if he can. Thats men for you.

Jane I hope you don't get too hot at the hairdressers on Thursday and I m sure they wil have fans in there even if there is no air conditioning. With the dryers going it must get pretty hot in there.

Time to put the oven on so I better close now.

OH says the same as Chris quite often lately Jane! :-) What a shambles everything is and businesses suffering, no-one able to make plans etc. None of those in 'Positions' seem fit for purpose, whichever party it is! A second Waitrose is to close a few miles away, so I think there is only one left now and it isn't nearby.

Dietwise I have put half a stone back on so that's not good.......too many icecreams and treats when we go out! I hope I'm getting back on track now though. You seem to be getting around quite well with your crutch. It will be good when you can get behind the wheel again and tootle off to the shops yourself. I know I will hate not driving when my knees are done. OH will take me anywhere I want to go, but he goes straight from A to C, whereas I go off piste via B to pop here or there as I fancy or just for a change.

OH got a call from his doctor this morning and the bowel test was fine so it looks like it is IBS which we have thought he has had for years. He still has to do the usual bowel test though, which amazingly arrived a day after the doctor's one, otherwise he won't get a recall next time.

Gill, OH was outside working before 8.00am!! He was still glad to get done and come back inside though as it was hotting up fast.

Someone has bought my spare pinking shears that I have free advertised for ages. I had a job to find them, but they are winging their way now. I must start advertising some more things!

Mel they say it's hotter still here in the Midlands, 28 degrees in here with the blinds shut and fan on, but still hotter outside so thank goodness I'm well past hot flushes or I would be dripping. They say it will be even hotter tomorrow, but thunderstorms are forecast tonight so I hope we get some rain as we haven't watered the pots. I'm taking the fan to bed tonight and having a cool shower too. That was so lucky finding the brooch and just in time! It's a shame you can't find the other things as well though.

Phew it's been a hot one ,yes today we have been in the pool it was heaven ,we had a good hour in there on our own and then the children came late afternoon but didn't stay to long as Chelsea had an evening thing at her new school ,i think it's to look round and they get presented with their new school ties

It was hair cut day today but as i was going in the pool i didn't have my hair blown dry .
It's going to be hot in the hairdressers if they have the dryers going Jane so your flappy fan will be working over time .
How is James toe today it did look so sore .

25 to 12 and its just started raining a bit and there's thunder and lightening.

Morning :-D Just having a cuppa after being awake for ages because of Thunder and Lightening . It went on for a good while but seems to now have moved on. Thomas has just gone out after being a bit freaked out by the thunder.There was some heavy rain but not much .
So I will settle back in bed with the fan one side and cup of tea the other ,have a short read and then see if I can drop off again. I am not holding my breath there.

We had the storm as well, not having my aids in I would not have heard the thunder but the lightening was sheet lightening and constant for about an hour. And not much rain either. I managed to get back to sleep by burying my head but apparently OH was awak 8for hours8 he exaggerates!!

I am supposed to be having a phone call this morning from the pharmacy nurse as my medication review. wonder if it will happen.

We had thunder and lightning here about half past four this morning and just a little rain it didn't last long ,then there was more thunder a couple of hours later ,bit of cloud about now the sun keeps poking through ,we're off shopping in a mimute before it gets to hot and then in the pool later .
