Thanks for mentioning Amazon for the felting wool Mel, I'll have to have a look! I had to chuckle at the Hawk swooping over your OH in the hot tub. The things you see when you don't have your camera. He's lucky it didn't spot a tasty morsel in the tub and do a dive! lol :-D It's unusual for them to come that close. Do you think it might have been a tame one? Probably just trying to escape the pesky Jackdaws though.
Mandy, another order for a Unicorn Cake then! It obviously went down well before. At least you know just how to do one this time. :-) :-) I would like to have tried to make a felted animal, but the teacher thought we should try something flat first. I suppose you are more likely to stab your fingers doing animal till you are used to it. We had a deep foam pad underneath what we were doing.
We also found out today that the other ladies go to another craft group in the same place Monday nights. They pay £1 each time and take along whatever they want to make. There is no teaching but they teach each other the different crafts they do if you want to learn, more a social gathering really. I might go along when this free course finishes as the ladies we saw today all seem nice and are all friendly.
I wonder if Vera is home yet. I keep thinking about her and the motorway. I know I don't like driving in places I don't know now, especially at night. It never used to bother me as I used to go on courses at work to Newcastle, Gateshead, Bristol, Blackpool, all over the place, but roads were less busy and cars didn't nip around like they do now. They will be so pleased to get home and rest in their own beds.
Speaking of which I'd better go to bed myself. Hairdresser tomorrow !

Hi everyone
We are home safely, arriving back at just after 5 pm. All is well though we are both very tired and going to bed shortly.
Taxi arrived punctually to take us to the Airport. Walked inside where there was no sign of the promised assistance or anywhere to sit so I had to leave OH standing (the most painful position for him), using the handles of the suitcases for support while I went to find help. Couldn’t see any assistance kiosk so asked at the information desk and was told to go to the check in desk and ask there. The queue was a mile long so I pushed my way through it to the front and spoke to an unhelpful lady at the desk. She wanted all the details and checked my passport before she would phone for the wheelchair. We were then sent to wait elsewhere on chairs and someone would come. By this time OH was in so much pain that he could hardly move to get to these chairs but struggled on and eventually a helper with a wheelchair arrived. He took us to check in and bag drop, then left us . After 10 minutes another helper arrived. This kept happening. Eventually we had four different helpers with a wait between each of them
What a difference at Gatwick. Really efficient and helpful. One chap collected us from the plane, took us through all the processes and took us to the hotel where our car was parked.
I drove home in one go, OH was comfortable, I didn’t want to stop and start and anyway we only passed one service station - Clacketts Lane. We did the M23, M25 and A12. There was a lot of traffic out, including a lot of heavy goods stuff and it rained on and off. I was happier after the Dartford Tunnel because, although I don’t much like the A12, I do know it quite well. Anyway we got home in one piece and no one hooted or flashed their lights at me so I must have managed OK. It took about two and a half hours.
Since coming home I’ve organised us some food, done all the unpacking and putting away and had a visitor, so I am now ready for my bed.
I’ll try and catch up on all the posts tomorrow

I'm so pleased you're home safe and sound and can now relax in your own surroundings. Hope you sleep well tonight Vera.
Now all I have to worry about is Frank............. I hope we hear from him tomorrow.
Ann Thats just what oh said, "where's the camera when its needed".
I shall have a nice collection of ripe strawberries by the weekend so must buy some cream to go with them. One on the barrow had been eaten by something right up inside so I bit the end off and gave the rest to the bantam. They love them.

Morning all,
Dry morning here but it rained heavily in the early morning. It woke me up which is quite unusual.
I had no birds fly over me while I was in the hot tub last night but I did watch the hedgehog feeding at the bowl. Later on I had two in the ring which I hav'nt seen for ages so I was really pleased. There was pushing and shoveing going on and then one ran away leaving the other one in a ball in the ring.

Morning Mel, morning all
Pleased to see you are both home safe and sound Vera, I hope your OH is starting to feel a bit better now he's in his own surroundings again. Poor performance at the air port over there with the assistance, but much better in England though. Will you be able to claim off your insurance for the costs? Maybe you could book another holiday when OH is feeling up to it to make up for this one.
I bet that was a shock for your OH having the bird flying so close to him in the hot tub Mel. At least you were left in peace when you got in.
Love the photo of your felting Ann, it's really good considering you've never done it before. I watched Kirsty Allsop make a felted bird on one of her craft shows, it was really good and looked fun to do. Your fairy is brilliant, I love it they are my favourite colour combinations.
So another Unicorn cake to make now Mandy, you are very good at making cakes, it's no wonder they all want you to make their birthday cakes for them.
It sounds like Inara had a great time at the Zoo yesterday AnnG. I bet she slept well last night with all the fresh air and walking around.
It's been raining here this morning so we're glad we took Sandra to the Zoo yesterday as the weather was dry all day. She had a great time and we saw the new attraction called the "Predators", they were life size dinosaurs that moved and made the noises they would of done when they were alive, it was brilliant. Had we took Sandra to the Zoo on her birthday she wouldn't of seen them as they've only been open for about 6 weeks. She's taken lots of photo's including the Flamingo's (her favorites) and everything else she saw on the day, she loved the Meerkats. We found a section of the Zoo we'd never seen before. Chester Zoo is so big we'd missed this section every time we'd been so it was nice to see other things, this was where we found the Preditor's section. All in all she had a great time.
My tooth is really sore today so I'm glad I've got a dentist appointment, it's swollen up around my left eye and I didn't sleep at all last night with the pain. I think the dentist might put me on antibiotics to clear the infection then take the tooth out, but I'll have to wait and see what she's says. I was in tears with the pain this morning, and to top it off I had terrible heart burn and felt sick all night. I think I might end up having a sleep later as I feel shattered,
I'm so glad we took Sandra to the Zoo yesterday and not today as I doubt I would of managed it. My tooth was okay most of the day yesterday but started to really hurt about half an hour before we came home, so it didn't spoil the day out.
One of the staff working at the Zoo said they had to close the Zoo last Wednesday because the whole place flooded with all the rain. I knew it was bad around there when it rained but I've never heard of the Zoo having to stay closed before because of bad weather. We saw where the fire was it was all closed off as repairs are now being done, unfortunately they lost a few lizards and the like but managed to get the orangutans and other larger animals out to safety. Hopefully everything will be rebuilt soon and people will be allowed back in that section, it's a very large place all under cover and sectioned off for various animals. The Zoo itself is 125 acres set in 400 acres of land, so quite a lot to see and walk around.
Going to get ready for the dentist now, I want to nip to mum's as well, to make sure she has bread and milk in as she's due home today. I hope she likes the decorating I done for her the other day.
Hope everything is okay with Frank and he posts today.

Good morning all,
Since yesterday my computer has been BLANK. I checked everything and found no reason for it not to come on. This morning, I phoned Jane to ley her know, and to let you all know, that we new fine. I know how Mel worries. <3 <3 <3 and you are all concerned about us, we I don't show.
Last night I phoned BT, and they checked my broadband was connected and they found no faults on the line. VERY EFFICIENT. and so polite and helpful. This morning I again checked the connections, and found the plug/lead from the mains to the MacBook had worked loose. Once I rectified that, on came the computer. So it was down to this silly old fool all along. ;-) ;-) ;-)
I did see that you are home dafe and sound Vera. Which I am very pleased to hear. Now you must they to relax, and get your mind back, from all this worrying time you have had.
I had my injection yesterday afternoon, and have a sore bottom, from the injection. All the time that Louise (the nurse) is injecting me, she is apologising. It's not her fault that it hurts, as she is so GENTLE. I have lost another 3 lbs, so Under 12 stone now. But she is happy with my BMI (JUST). She said I must start to eat three meals a day, and try to get some weight on my again.
I put a pair of fawn slacks on yesterday after my shower. and without a belt they fell straight down to my ankles. So I know I have lost a lot of weight.
Ros is in the garden already, so I will attempt to get the mower out and do the back lawn. Not that I feel like doing it, but I can't leave it any longer. I will ring Barry tonight, as there is a lot of things that need doing to help Ros.
These new Anti-Biotics, are playing havoc with her tummy. Starting in July she has to go to the hospital one day a week for a month, to have a tube fitted and some liquid put into her Bladder for up to an hour, to try to kill this bacteria that seems to be causing all these problems. I do feel for her, but like Ros she never complains.
Will try to catch up with the posts later. xxxx

O Frank you silly boy now if that happens again you will know to check the plug. It happened to us last week when charging a battery for the strimmer. Oh said it was'nt doing it right. When I had used the strimmer and went to put the battery on charge it did'nt work so I checked the plug and it was nearly out so pushed it in and then it charged ok.
You know we worry about you so why did'nt you ring me?

Pleased to see you back on here Frank all safe and sound. Don't over do things with the lawns if you don't feel up to it today, there's always tomorrow. Poor Ros, that's the thing with some antibiotics they upset your tum, I hope she feels better soon. At least something is being done about all these infections now, even if it isn't very pleasant.
No Mel, Sandra has never seen a pink budgie. Yes, I think the flamingos are her favourite because of the colour. OH and I are going to take a look at all the photo's she took later, she said they are really good. I helped with a few of them as the animals moved a bit to quick for her to catch them.
Well, I'm back on antibiotics and have been told when the infection has gone I need to have the tooth taken out. She wanted me to book it in today but I'd rather wait until OH has had his op incase he needs me for anything, I'd be no good to him with a sore mouth. I'm just glad the infection is this week and didn't happen when he went into hospital. I'm so tired with not sleeping last night so might have a sleep this afternoon.
I called into mum's after the dentist to check she had bread and milk and to put her post on the table, so that's ready for her return today. I also spoke to the builder next door to her, the one who is fixing the bungalow after the cowboy builders made a mess. I got their phone number incase the woman over the road from us needs a builder, the last thing we want is the builder next door to us used turning up doing the work. Whether she needs it or not we don't know yet, but it's handy to have it just incase.
Going to get some soup now, I couldn't face anything this morning with being nervous of going to the dentist, so I'm really hungry now.

Not long now before Jane and Fitz's ops and of course Gill's oh. It has all seemed to come together.
Poor Ros not a nice thing to go through but if it does the trick it will be good in the long run.

Gill, I feel for you, there is nothing worse than tooth problems. As I think I have said, I am down to having only FOUR of my own, and now one of those is starting to come loose. I am very lucky that they don't give me tooth ache, and when ready I can pull my own out. I think I have extracted quite a few over the years. I glad Sandra han a nice day ar the zoo.
I have been on the phone for well over an hour, talking OR RATHER WAITING to Barclay card and Amazon. Amazon have started charging me for Amazon Prime, which I never requested, and have notified them previously to cancel. It was charged to my HSBC account which I canceled, now the BEGGERS are charging my Platinum Barclay card. It took forever to speak to a human on Barclaycard, but finally managed to cancel any more payments to Amazon. I also rang Amazon for payment refunds, which they are going do.
I have rung Barry, so I expect I will get a call this evening, to say when he will be coming.
Ros bought two Lamb shanks yesterday, so I will be doing those for tonights dinner with mash and Veg. I made a dish of Rhubarb and Apple crumble yesterday, so Ros can have some of that again this evening.
Lots of black clouds building up now, so I expect we will get a downpour soon. Stay dry everyone, if you are going out. BBL. xxx

What a palaver doing those Lamb Shanks I browned them off in some oil in the big casserole dish. Then I set about making a sauce/gravy. I chopped a couple of onions, carrots and two clothes of garlic. I used half bottle of my red wine, flour and Tomato puree, added water and mixed. It looked just fine, so after softening the carrot and onion, I mixed everything together and poured over the shanks They are in the oven, and can tick away for a couple of hours. All veg done, so thats me until I dish up around six.
Eos dosen't have Choir tonight, so she will be home to watch her soaps, I will sit and read my book.
Madam has been in the garden all day so far. she has cleaned the patio of dead headed plants, and swept up. She has weeded one side of the garden and is now on the bottom bed. I have just made her a COT and took a packet of biscuits down to her. I hope she won't be out there too long, but when she starts, she just keeps going.
I have left a message for Barry to come A S A P, so hope to hear from him tonight.
I am not feeling on top of the world this afternoon, shoulders and neck ache, together with this horrible dull ache, down my right side. I think I am missing the nice warm sun on my body.
Did I mention, that Lola and the puppies are now gone via the vets to new homes. It's a big wrench for Conrad, and Jan said she cried for ages, after they had gone. As I said to him, he did a resounding job taking her in and seeing her through the births of the five pups. He I am sure very pleased with himself, as he is not really a doggy person.
Ros has just come in as it's starting to rain. So I am pleased she can't do anymore today. She can now sit down and relax.

Afternoon All
Sorry I missed you Frank this morning. I was over at Rushden Lakes to get another nightie and some nice comfy pants from M&S .The pants dont have the elastic around the back of the legs so will be good for not getting caught on any staples.
Whose a silly billy not checking the lead to his pooter then :-D :-D. At least you are up and running again ..I do feel for Ros having to go once a month to have this treatment for her bladder .But if this is going to do the trick then it is going be worth the discomfort .
Vers you did really well driving home .All those Motorways ,the A12 and Dartford Tunnel !!!!. Was the Dartford crossing ok.It has always been chock a block when I have been there. James has to do this each time he goes down to see Jess in Canterbury. What a nightmare with the assistance at Vienna and you having to run back and forward leaving poor OH propped up on the handles of the suitcases. It is good to hear though they got it right this end :-D I hope you both managed ot get a good sleep last night and are feeling a bit more refreshed now.
So a lovely day at the Zoo for Sandra :-D I hope she got some good pics of al the animals and especially her favourite Flamingos :-D Your Mum will be thrilled with her newly decorated room Gill. You have worked so fast there to get it looking just right for her.Lets hope the antibiotics soon start to work on your painful tooth. It is going to take a good week or maybe even longer to clear the infection so OH will have had his op and then you will be ok to go and have the tooth out.
Yikes Mel!!! A Hawk swooping down over OH's hair :-0 :-0. Maybe it thought it was a rabbit :-D :-D. What a shock though.
Mandy you will be the Unicorn Cake Queen soon :-D You will be a dab hand at it. The last one was great. You may start getting orders :-D
Ann,I think you are going to enjoy all this new felting :-D. I like the sound of the informal class where everyone just helps eachother and shares tips etc. £1 is so cheap.
AnnG how long are you staying up in the Lake District? Was it just the week? You will need to come home for a rest I think :-D :-D
Who asked me where I found my engagement ring? It was just in a little box in the unit in the lounge (so wasn't lost) It just didn't fit. I haven't lost weight I just think my fingers have :-D :-D. It is so nice though to be able to wear it again.
Frank do start trying to eat little and often. We can't have to losing your trousers :-0 You will need some braces .
What was the name of the chap back in the 60's who stood in a shop doorway by a window and lifted one arm and one leg so the reflection looked like his was lifitng both sides ?????? Harry someone? I don't know what made me thing about that old comedy programme the other night. But it has been driving me potty as I cant think of his name.

I only know Harry Seacombe Jane, but I don't suppose it was him, good luck trying to remember his name, there's nothing worse and then you tend to remember in the middle of the night when there's no one to tell lol :-D :-D
I've just looked at Sandra's pictures of the Zoo and they have turned out great with just one or two fuzzy ones of a beautiful orange bird. They wouldn't keep still so when I took that photo I think it was a bit to quick, which is probably why it's not quite in focus. All the other's turned out okay so she's really pleased with them and is going to show them to mum tomorrow.
I've just spoken to mum and she is thrilled with the decorating. She's coming to see us tomorrow morning. She had a great time away and said the weather was lovely. I'm glad she's home safe and sound though, as it's quite a drive there and back.
I slept for a couple of hours this afternoon and feel less like a zombie now, I hope I sleep well tonight after a bad night yesterday. My mouth is so sore even though I've taken the pain killers, so I'm glad we took Sandra to the Zoo yesterday as I doubt I'd of been up to it today. Once the infection has gone I'll be able to have the tooth out so no more abscess's, they're really not nice at all and very painful.
Sorry to hear you're in pain Frank, I hope it's eased a bit for you now. Fancy Amazon charging you, at least that's sorted via the bank now, so you don't need to worry about it anymore and Amazon are giving you a refund which is good.

Evening all,
Was it Harry Worth Jane ? i think it was him who did the window thing .
We haven't seen to much sun today but i can see blue sky now ,funny how its cloudy all day and then we get a lovely sunny evening .
We went to The Range this morning and then on to the Carvery where we both had the lovely Steak and Ale pie with lots of veg ,both to full for a pud .
Ann i love the Angel ,i can see why she took a while and was fiddly to do but you'e done a lovely job with her . The £1 class sounds a brilliant idea to learn new crafts from others and nice to have a get together and meet people who do crafting .
Oh Frank Conrad and Jan will miss Lola and the pups but it's for the best as they do need your time to look after them . Glad to managed to sort out your pooter in the end we all wondered where you were .
Hope the tooth soon feels easier with these antibiotics Gill then once the tooth is out you'll have no more trouble . I bet Sandra will be talking about the Zoo for days to come :-D
Oh Mel i would have loved to have seen the bird swoop down over OH's head did he duck under the water :-D
Vera you did really well driving home it couldn't have been an easy drive when your not use to it ,i hope you both feel rested today and had a good nights sleep in your own bed /
Jane you might not have staples ,Colin's was glued ,do you remember me saying he went to have the staples out and they said it was glued !!!!!! Loose things are the best thing to wear as it stops any pulling on the wound . Colin said the best thing was waking up after with no pain .

Forgot to mention earlier Frank how good Conrad was taking on Lola, sorry to hear how upset Jan was when Lola went, along with her pups. I'm sure they'll all be okay though.
I've decided to have some rice with a bit of soft meat, I know if I eat anything harder it'll make the pain worse, hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon, so it won't hurt so much.
We've just had some rain and poor OH has left to pick up the wood the workmen said he could have. Hope he doesn't get to wet. It's going to save us a fortune as it's the same wood we were going to buy for the frame work for the screening down the side of the bungalow. The only thing OH has to do is take all the nails out then it's good to use again.
Pleased to see you all knew it was Harry Worth, Jane won't need to try and remember him now. I've never heard of him, so the name I mentioned was completely wrong :-S :-S
