Gill, we are going home. Everything arranged now. Taxi to airport, flight and assistance both ends. Our car has been parked away from the airport by the Sofitel hotel where we stayed the night before we flew out and I have phoned them and arranged for it to be back there for us. All I have to worry about is the drive home from Gatwick as I hardly ever do a long drive these days and it’s years since I drove on a motorway. I shall just have to grit my teeth and get on with it.

I have read all the posts but no time now to respond. Will be back in a day or so when we are home and sorted.

Safe journey Vera, hope it all goes smoothly and OH can cope ok with the travelling.

Gill she had a party last Saturday and tomorrow she (and our daughter and myself) are going to the zoo which is not far from here.
She will then come here to have our presents.

Annx it is Conishead Priory I think it has a web site.
I wonder if we will ever regain a world where children and teenagers etc have respect for authority. To my mind the current situation all stems back from the so called permissive thoughts of the 60s/70s.

Mandy Lol, even if not talking to us she is talking to herself, her Lego or the cat.

I do hope you have a good trip home Vera and everything works out ok. You'll be ok on the motorway just keep to the inside lane but don't go too slow or you will get pulled up. You have hubby to talk to and guide you.

Well I think Fitz oh is very very selfish making him get up at that time of the morning when he has to go through a big op. What does she think he is going to do for the hours he has to wait for his bed!!!! Its not on. She dos'nt sound like she looks after him very well to me and where would she be without him?? :-| :-| :-| Thats made me so cross and I don't even know Fitz.

Anng have you only had the little chatterbox for today? Does she ask you things or just chat away about what she is doing?

I feel very tired tonight after shopping today.

Frank when you have liver and bacon do you cook it all yourself or buy the ready meals? I bought one today in Morrisons for myself tonight and it was very nice. You should have seen oh's face when he knew what I had brought home. He can't stand liver.

O I see AnnG has answered my question already. Bless her. My son always played well on his own when small. I think these children who are out of control these days know you can't give them a good smack. It never hurt any of us did it? My dad would slap me around my legs if I was naughty and make me stand in the corner. I did'nt like the look on his face when he was cross with me.

Morning All

I am just popping im quickly now to wish you Vera a good and safe journey home today.I bet you wish you could just wave a magic and and it will be all over.
Is it a long drive home from where you pick you car up? I am sure you will be fine on the Motorway once you are on it.If there is a service station along the way it might be good just to have a break and ease the tension .You will probably be gripping on to that steering wheel like mad !! Anyway once you are both home again you will be able to relax.

Just going to have my first big mug of tea.The first one is always the best :-D

I have to say that would stress me out as it is many years since I drove on the motorway.

Mel she doesn’t ask a lot of questions she tells you things.

We have her all day tomorrow too!

She is used to a lot of attention as mum plays with her and does things with her.

Morning all

Bright and sunny here today, so we're taking Sandra to the Zoo, she's so excited.

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY INARA <3 <3 <3

Have a great time a the zoo.

Have a safe journey home Vera, hope it's not to painful for your husband to get around.

I've woken up with a bad tooth again so have made an appointment with the dentist for tomorrow, I think she'll probably take it out as it's the same one I had problems with before. I'm not sure if I'm getting another abscess, but it's a bit sore so I thought it best to have it checked out. I've taken some painkillers so hopefully it won't hurt to much while we're out.

OH and Sandra are waiting for me, so I'll catch up with the posts later. I hope it doesn't rain as the Zoo can flood if it rains to much. The plan is to see the animals outside first, then if it rains we can go and see the ones indoors. Sandra will love it no matter what the weather does
:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Morning all,

Dull miserable and raining here so I hope the sunshine last for your trip to Chester Zoo Gill, Sandra and oh. Sandra will be sooooooo pleased to be able to go at last two months after her birthday. Bless. <3 Have a great day and pass some of that sunshine down here please?

Lets hope our Vera and hubby get home safely today and its not too traumatic on the motorway for Vera.

Nothing planned for today so I have a lot of ironing to do and as its miserable out there I think I shall tackle that.

Thanks for Inara good wishes. She did enjoy the zoo and I am shattered. It was sunny and hot, it is not a big zoo but has a good selection of animals. Have to wait until I get home before photos are on the blog. Got some reasonable ones of the Snow Leopard..

Hope Sandra has a good day at the zoo as well.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 19 Jun 2019 15:03

Where's our Frank? I hope he has not done anything silly if he was thinking of cutting the grass. Or I hope Ros is ok too.

How nice Inara enjoyed the zoo. What animals did she like best?

Annx

Annx Report 19 Jun 2019 15:35

Afternoon All,

I hope Vera has a good trip home. As Mel said she can always sit in the left lane on the motorway and Jane's good idea to take a break at the services. I always think if you go wrong somewhere it doesn't matter if you are just going home. Easy to turn back as soon as you can or just keep going till you see a sign for where you want.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to INARA I hope she enjoys her big day.........even more chattering today I suspect with her visit to the zoo! :-) :-) Snow leopards are my favourite big cat AnnG. I love their colouring and thick fur. How they survive where they live is a miracle. I will have a look for the site for Conishead Priory.

I see Sandra is off to the zoo as well. I bet she is so chuffed after waiting so patiently and will be getting lots of photos.

I went to the free craft thing this morning and 3 of my beading friends went too. We are hoping they will run the other 4 weeks as they need 2 more people to sign up to continue. We were shown the stabbing technique to do needle felting and she showed us the basics of how to make an animal body, then we had to choose some flat felt and could set to work doing whatever we wanted to needlefelt onto it. There was a limited range of colours in the felting wool, but I did a landscape on mine, one friend did a tree, another did a big flower and the other did a big sheep with flowers at the bottom. I would like to do a lot more work on mine with more colours so will probably be sending off for different shades. It is quite addictive so I think I shall be doing more of it! Next week we have to take some cotton fabric or a t shirt as we are block printing! I have sent a pic of my unfinished first attempt!

AnninGlos Report 19 Jun 2019 16:28

Inara s favourite today were the monkeys, there was a family of little black ones and she thought they were being naughty together. My favourite was the Snow Leopard, but I liked the Giraffes and Gibbons as well.

She is still chattering and playing with her presents, we gave her Sylvanian families as did daughter so lots to play with.
The felting picture is very effective Ann looks interesting.

Afternoon All

Happy Birthday to Inara <3 <3 <3. It sounds like it was a successful day out to the Zoo for her treat :-D. She will be chattering about this exciting day for a long time to come AnnG :-D :-D. How lovely to see a Snow Leopard . Were there Mearcats? I love those. I bet you feel on your knees now Ann LOL

Gill too I am sure will have enjoyed her day out at the Zoo too,and snapping away taking pics of all the animals :-D. She finally got there :-D :-D Hope your tooth hasn't played up too much Gill.
I am wondering if I might have lost a bit of a filling :-S. One of my teeth is a bit sensitive with hot and cold. I shall see how it goes but will get it checked out of I think there is a problem as it will need to be sorted before I hav the op.

I keep thinking of Vera and hope that they are well on the way home now and there will be no hiccups along the way.

Just waiting for your pic to download Ann.It would be good if another 2 people can go along to these free classes .It sounds like you have enjoyed today.

Mel I loved the baby Blackbirds in their next. It wont be too long before they get some feathers :-D. Scrawny little things arent they when they are naked :-D

My toilet frame has just been delivered . How exciting ;-) The chap was then going to Fitz with a perching stool

Mandy , I had Asparagus with an Egg and Bearnese Sauce with some grated Truffle bits on the side of the plate to start yesterday. Fitz had Calamari. Then I had just normal F&Cs and Fitz had Turbot. It was all really good.

I thought we were supposed to have had rain and Thunder last night . But we had neither !!!. No rain today either although it has been a bit on the muggy side.

So no Frank yet today then. Fingers crossed there has been no calamities !!!!!!

Time for a cuppa I think now.

AnninGlos Report 19 Jun 2019 16:52

Afternoon Jane yes there were meerkats they are almost human aren’t they.
I like the penguins as well like little old men.

Jane

Jane Report 19 Jun 2019 17:59

Oh yes Penquins AnnG . I love them too :-D Meercats I find just so funny. I think they have some at our local Wicksteed Park now ,not that I have been there to see them.I cant remember the last time I went to a proper Zoo. I think it was Twycross when our 2 were little. I am not really a fan of Zoos and prefer the more Wildlife Parks where the animals are able to have more freedom. I always remember the poor old Polar Bear at Paignton Zoo many years ago and he went mad after being kept in captivity for so long.He would just stand and sway from side to side :-(

Ann I have not been able to open your pic on my laptop but have got it on my phone.
What a lovely job you have done on your first attempt :-D :-D I love the colours .

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 19 Jun 2019 18:14

I was quite impressed with this zoo, the animals are not caged as such. It is more like a wildlife park. Some of the animals are in an area where you walk through, kangaroos for example.
Strangely it has a chequered history as a couple of years ago a member of staff was killed by a tiger and they were found to not be following procedures regarding safety. All to do with a previous owner and sorted now.

MillymollyAmanda Report 19 Jun 2019 18:51

Evening all,

Happy birthday to Inara sounds as if she has enjoyed the zoo today ,i can stand and watch the monkeys for ages they are so comical ,we took son to Cromer Zoo years ago i think he was about four and they had a big monkey that used to smoke, if he saw some one smoking he would put his arm through the cage trying to get people to give him one ,i suppose the poor thing was addicted ,but when son saw him puffing away on a ciggy he just laughed and laughed and of course everyone laughed at him laughing .

I do hope Vera and OH are now home ,it must have been quite a journey for Vera having to drive on the motorway when she hasn't driven on one for a while ,they will be tired out .

Gill i hope the tooth hasn't given you to much pain today but it's good you've got yourself an appointment to get it sorted out .
I bet Sandra has enjoyed the Zoo today and i hope it's stayed dry for you .

Jane we had the toilet frame for Colin ,i was glad when it went back as my legs touched the sides of the frame and boy was it cold . :-D
We bought a raised toilet seat and just have that now as he finds the lower seat a bit of a struggle still .

Oh Ann the felting is lovely ,you'e done well for a first attempt and i love the colours you've picked ,i imagined it would be an Animal or some thing that you would be doing so it was a nice surprise to see what you've done .

No thunder and lightening here last night i woke several times expecting to see a few flashes in the sky but didn't see or hear a thing ,it's been muggy today and we had a shower about an hour ago ,we went shopping this morning ,Lidl's and Morrisons and sat out this afternoon having a cuppa watching the sky get darker and darker before the shower came .

Do hope Franks ok not like him to miss posting .

Its Lacey's birthday next Tuesday ....she would like a .....Unicorn cake :-| good old Nanny got to make another one like last time !! what do i let myself in for :-D

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 19 Jun 2019 19:35

WEll I think your unicorn cake was nicer than the ones I have seen in the shops Mandy.

I was in the garden this afternoon as it was nice and warm and sunny. cleaning up the strawberry plants on the barrow when there was a hell of a noise from the Jackdoors. Oh was in the hottub and down from the orchard came a great big hawk closely followed by 4 Jackdoors. the hawk flew under our cover over the patio and across the hottub parting oh's hair. I would never have beleived it if I had'nt seen the whole thing myself.

Yes where is our Franky Boy? I hope he is ok and not down again or had an accident.

So a nice day ws had by all at the zoo then AnnG and I expect Sandra is full of it too.

Ann the felting is good. I hav'nt done anymore lately but I must get it all out again. Amazon have a good pack of small amounts of the wool in lots of different colours. I have made two lots of toadstools with mine so far but not attempted a landscape.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 19 Jun 2019 21:03

Yes Mandy she ha loved her birthday and the zoo too.
Mel was it a buzzard? The crows and jackdaws gang up on buzzards to keep them away from the nests.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 19 Jun 2019 21:33

AnnG I think it was and it was blimmin big. I did laugh as you should have seen oh's face!!! There was only his head sticking up out of the tub so I don't think the bird knew it was a human being.
