Afternoon all,
The sun has now shown it's face ,it's been cloudy here all morning ,son and family came to help Colin put the metal Gazebo up and it was quite chilly out . Son has this week off school as it's the Easter break but has to work next week with some extra hours . They stayed for some lunch and have now gone home so peace and quiet reigns .
Its funny how tunes keep going round in your head ,there was an advert the other day with the song
Girls and boys Come out to play The moon does shine As bright as day Come with a whoop And come with a call Come with a good will Or not at all I had that going round in my head , i haven't heard that for a few years .

You girls ARE SHOWING YOUR AGES, LOL You have started me off now thinking of the old rhymes It's marvellous now we can still remember them.
I have had my injection, so I expect a sore bum later. While I sat in the waiting room, I noticed that Prescription charges went up on 1st April to £9.00 per item. I wasn't even EARNING THAT AMOUNT A MONTH, when I started work. ELEVEN PENCE and a FARTHING per hour, for a 48 hour week. I don't know how we managed in those days. !!! We willie winkle just came in my head. THANKS

Hallo everyone
I hope all your various injections, meetings, plans for the afternoon have gone well.
Frank, there are a couple of chiropodists around here who will come to your home but I go in to town on Thursdays anyway so I fit my appointments in with that. We are not far from the centre, only just over a mile so it’s not much of a hassle. After my feet were done we met our friends for coffee, 7 ladies and 4 men today.
It was quite frosty here first thing but then the sun appeared, though it was really cold out. I hope it’s a bit warmer tomorrow. I think tomorrow will have to be a shopping and housework day. Boring..
Jane, I’m cursing you for mentioning the Esau rhyme. Now I’ve got the 1950s song that was based on that rhyme going round and round my brain. You’ll be too young to remember it but the first verse went:
I saw Esau sitting on a see-saw I saw Esau with my girl I saw Esau sitting on a see-saw Giving her a merry whirl When I saw Esau, he saw me I saw red and felt so sore So I got a saw and I sawed Esau Off that old see-saw.
Now it’ll be going round my head for days! :-|

Afternoon All,
Lots of sun here too! A bit chilly out of the sun though.
It's funny how these little rhymes from childhood pop into your head at times. Much easier to remember than my 16 times table!! lol.
Lewis should be popping down some notes of these things he does for his CV for the future Frank. He's gaining all sorts of useful skills that might be asked for, like examples of teamwork, customer service, managing his time and organising himself and now other staff to name just a few. I also think he has a great attitude and work ethic which will really stand him in good stead. I used to interview some that were unemployed that couldn't even tell you what they did in their spare time!!
Is the Gazebo a new thing Mandy? I have wondered whether one would be better than the parasol things we have as I always worry about parasols blowing over and the sun always seems to reach us under them, even though we have big ones!! lol.
I hope the meeting went well AnnG. I would have to bring the garden chairs in to seat all those people! At least after your 'spring clean' the house is all clean now.
Jane, Chris must have gone to the same school of domestics as OH as he is too impatient to wait till the dusting is done (by me I might add!) and hoovers first on the not too often occasions when he does it. What colour are your new specs? They had to adjust mine too to stop the soreness, but then they usually do.
That's good getting the insulation finished Mel. I love it when you make a nice space by getting a job done as well. :-D That's good spotting some new baby fish. Let's hope they thrive. Do you get any baby Koi as well?
I noticed that about the nitrates too Vera. As with a lot of things there can be good effects as well as bad ones, just as with medication. I read something the other day that suggested eating calcium rich food is better than taking the tablets. I hope your feet feel nice now. I think mine need a good soak and smoothing ready for my sandals to come out!!
We ate at a place we haven't been to before, a little local pub with special lunch deals. Well, it was like stepping back in time, although they have made a pretty garden and are obviously gradually doing the place up. It was like a proper old pub with mostly village locals propping the bar up and is rambler and dog friendly so there were a few four legged friends there. The music playing was all from the 60s, my era, and took me right back in time and I was remembering my long hair and things I wore, particularly some 'Tom Jones' black stillettos with huge silver buckles!! lol. I used to wear them with a long sleeved dress with a bluey black sheen and white lace collar frill and white lace frill cuffs. The food was good and I had a chicken breast with a stilton sauce, 4 veg and just a few new potatoes, OH had liver with bacon and onions, mash and the same veg.

Sorry Vera :-D :-D :-D. I have Mel's Ibble Bobble on my mind now LOL It is good to see the slightly different versions of these Rhymes. I remember singing Girls and Boys come out to play in the playground at school. It is odd though how suddenly for no reason at all that something like one of these things comes to mind and then they are stuck in your head for days !!!. I bet your feet feel good now Vera, and Frank I hope you are able to sit down after your jab and aren't black and blue :-D If and when I get another date for my hip I shall have my toenails cut properly at the Chiropodists as I doubt I would be able to cut my own for quite a few weeks, and I know Chris is not keen on doing that job ! Maybe I should ask Fitz seeing I did the honours for him a few times :-D :-D. ;-)
Well Chris has been on his knees for hours in the garden cutting all the overgrown grass around the paving stones down the lawn.He reckons there was about 5 years growth. His knees will be giving him hell soon. I had a chuckle when I looked in the Greenhouse as it looked like there were 4 graves. He had dug out the old compost from last years tomato plants and put new compost in. Thomas was out all night last night.I waited up until 11 and then gave up .He appeared about 11.30 this morning and conked out in the Summerhouse for several hours. He was so deep in sleep and his paws and face were twitching away .He must have been dreaming of all the rabbits he might have had :-D
Lincolnshire Sausages tonight with Parmentier Pots (I use the Waxy potatoes ) ,little thin carrots and Parsnips ,and a bag of Cabbage and leek.Plenty of good old Bisto to pour over the lot :-D

Don't get me going on tables Ann !!!!!. I could probably just about get to my 7 times table. What are Tom Jones Stilettos? I can picture your dress(real 60's style). That sounded a nice lunch you had today .I love pubs that are dog friendly .When we went to Suffolk and stayed at an old coaching inn for a couple of nights ,we were the only people there without a dog!
Frank I meant to say how well Lewis is doing .He must be raking in a few quid now what with all those lovely tips too.
I think my next door neighbours must have had a blocked drain this morning as there was a chap there pulling up the drain covers and poking things down . He was there for quite some time. I said to Chris maybe they found the lost keys to the Landrover :-D :-D My new specs are a bit tortoiseshell Ann and a different style to the ones I had before. I am still getting used to ths different shape but the family say they suit me so I am happy with that . I think they are being truthful. It still hurts a bit behind one ear .Its odd as it doesnt feel tight . Brrr! it is feeling quite cold now. It could be another cold night as the sky is cloudless.

All nice comfy feet now Vera. Mum used to have a woman come and do her feet. I used to wash them after a good soak first so they were ready for Kay whne she called. She retired so we don't have the pleasure of her services. I really must find one though as I do oh's but he dos'nt do mine!!!!!!!!!!! Bit like you Jane. He is quite capable of doing it for me but he used to have to do his mums when she was ill and he looked after her so I think it brings back memories.
Been out in the garden and got the sweet peas in at last in their tub out the front. Sived some compost for sowing some seeds and then could'nt find them!! Came in for a drink and found the seeds by the back door ready to take down the shed.
Gazebos do catch the wind and blow away so be carefull where you put them. We lost two in the wind in the night and they were well anchored down too.
We did'nt have our lamb chops last night in the end I had crab for oh which had to be eaten that day so he had that and I had a ham salad so guess what we are having tonight?
How about this one then it will give you a bit of reading!!!!
A frog he would a-wooing go, Heigh ho! says Rowley, A frog he would a-wooing go, Whether his mother would let him or no. With a rowley, powley*, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
So off he set with his opera hat, Heigh ho! says Rowley, So off he set with his opera hat, And on the road he met with a rat, With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
Pray, Mr. Rat will you go with me? Heigh ho! says Rowley, Pray, Mr. Rat will you go with me, Kind Mrs. Mousey for to see… With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
They came to the door of Mousey's hall, Heigh ho! says Rowley, They gave a loud knock, and they gave a loud call. With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
Pray, Mrs. Mouse are you within? Heigh ho! says Rowley, Oh yes, kind sirs, I'm sitting to spin. With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
Pray, Mrs. Mouse will you give us some beer? Heigh ho! says Rowley, For Froggy and I are fond of good cheer. With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
Pray, Mr. Frog will you give us a song? Heigh ho! says Rowley, Let it be something that's not very long. With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
Indeed, Mrs. Mouse, replied Mr. Frog, Heigh ho! says Rowley, A cold has made me as hoarse as a dog. With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
Since you have a cold, Mr. Frog, Mousey said, Heigh ho! says Rowley, I'll sing you a song that I've just made. With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
But while they were all a-merry-making Heigh ho! says Rowley, A cat and her kittens came tumbling in. With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
The cat she seized the rat by the crown, Heigh ho! says Rowley, The kittens they pulled the little mouse down. With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
This put Mr. Frog in a terrible fright, Heigh ho! says Rowley. He took up his hat and he wished them goodnight. With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
But as Froggy was crossing over a brook, Heigh ho! says Rowley. A lily white duck came and gobbled him up. With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.
So there was the end of one, two, three, Heigh ho! says Rowley. The rat, the mouse, and the little froggy. With a rowley, powley, gammon, and spinach, Heigh ho! says Anthony Rowley.

Strange the things that come back to you isn’t it? We obviously absorbed them before we had too much other muck in our brains.
I see my chiropodist every 8 weeks. I hate my toe nails. I have seen the same one for over 20 years now. I know he must be near to retirement I think there are a couple who will come to the house.
Frank, good idea of Annx’s re the CV. I agree Ann, back in the 80s when interviewing people for jobs it was obvious those who were only there for show, no interest in the jobs. The most enthusiastic were often the ones applying for YTS places. The food in the pub sounded nice Ann.
Hope you are sitting comfortably Frank.
Jane poor Chris on his knees all afternoon, you shouldn’t make him beg! :-D

Loved your Easter garland Mel.
Hope your BTM isn't causing you any trouble Frank after the injection
I also have a chiropodist every 8 weeks she comes to the house mainly because when I was caring for Peter I couldn't cut his toe nails in case I cut him so she has been visiting over 5 years and is a family friend now.
Had the Sainsbury delivery as usual this morning. Next week they have 25% off wines if you purchase 6 bottles or over.
When I first started work I was paid £2.10 shillings a week for a 5 day week as an office junior, the next job it was £9.00 when I left in 1963 to have Mark I was working doing a factory payroll then.
The pub where you had a meal sounds really nice Ann and being dog friendly would have suited us well, there do seem to be more dog friendly places to eat these days.

Morning all,
Not a bad day with some sun but its cloudy too if you know what I mean.
Gosh did I have a nightmare last night. I was in this house on holiday I think and it was painted pale green and white inside and I was admiring the brightness when everyone else went out and left me there. Who the everyone was I don't know. Suddenly there was a mans shadow on the wall and I went the opposit way but he caught me. He was wearing those green work trousers and a dark grey t shirt but I did'nt see his face. I called for help three times but you know when you're in a dream nothing really comes out when you shout. So I thought I would scream as loud as I could. The next thing I know is oh rubbing my back and saying "its allright Melly , its alright Melly Iv'e got you now". I asked him this morning what I was shoutiong out and he said just funny noises. My knight in shining armour saved me yet again....... <3

Gosh Mel, that sounds a horrible dream. It's all so real in the dead of night though, isn't it? Thank goodness your hero was there to calm you. I don't often have dreams that I remember, but sometimes when I do, I wake up thinking 'What was that all about then?' because everything seems so muddled and out of context.
It's trying to brighten up here, but weather forecast said we are unlikely to reach double figures in temperature, so I guess that bitter wind will still be chilling. A couple of weeks ago, I washed a warm scarf thinking I could pack it away, but I'm glad of it again this week. We are predicted warmer weather after Sunday, so that should be better.

Good morning to you all,
NO I am not sitting comfortable, I don't know what she used to inject me with, but OMG does it still hurt. I know the solution is VERY GLOOPY and takes a fair time to inject. She was apologising the whole time she was doing it. I can't remember it being as painful as this before. Perhaps she caught a muscle ;-) ;-) ;-)
Don't talk to me about GAZEBO'S. Before we had the conservatory built. I put one up as an extension to the bungalow, for somewhere to sit in the fresh air. All fine until we had a very bad WIND. It took off. !!! bits were found in neighbours gardens, ripped to pieces.
Ros has for years had a woman come to do her feet. When she was working in Beeties as a shop assistant, she was on her feet all day, five days a week. So had lots of hard skin build up, on her feet. Now of course being a lady of leisure, (don't tell her I said that) lol lol. She doesn't need them doing so regularly.
I must get down the garden to see how my Veg. seeds are doing. Also the Cues in the greenhouse.
Ros said the pub they went too yesterday, was nice and clean and a good selection of lunchtime meals. Carole was thrilled will the surprise, she said in an email this morning, that she has never had a birthday surprise, in her life before. Plus the girls gave £10.00 each towards a shopping voucher at the local Garden Centre. So knowing how she loves her garden, it will be well spent. It is nice when you can (for dog owners) to go in a pub for a bite to eat, that is dog friendly. As you say there are more and more doing it. If they want the trade, they have to move with the times.!!!
I don't have that trouble. I NEVER DUST. (not allowed) too clumsy. she won't let me near her nick nacks. :-D :-D :-D So when she's finished, I do sometimes run the hoover over.
Anne, I will mention to Lewis about making up a CV. With how difficult it is to get jobs these days, it might help him with finding work when he finishes University. THANKS.
Well I hope you are all well and got your day planned out with the jobs you have to do. MEL, don't over do it in the garden. ;-) ;-) ;-)
See you later. xxxx

That is the Tesco shop done. The sun is shining but it is only 8 or 9 degrees out there so a bit chilly.
strange how when we are being told to cut down on alcohol all the supermarkets are doing the 25% off six bottles. And, not being a couple to refuse a bargain we have got our six (mind you it is a bit of a con really as the wine has to be more than £4.75 (in Tesco at least) a bottle to qualify. We do buy the cheaper Australian wine often so the 'offer' makes us initially spend a bit more. I suppose it is a win/win, the store gets more spent and we get to try more expensive wine which we will probably like and buy again when there is tan offer on.

I just posted as you two did Mel and AinGlos. I have been in the gaeswn wearing all her pots and baskets, believe or not they needed it. I also watered all the pots under the lounge window and the front garden, all the patio pots and plants. Later I will go and water the greenhouse and my VEG seeds, nothing showing there yet.
I was tempted to get the mower out Mel, but the way my rear end feels, I just can't be bothered. ;-) ;-) ;-) Whats
's the old saying " Eh by gum mum, by bums,NUMB" Where did that come from. ??
Ros is in the greenhouse pricking out some seedlings, she seems to be short of the small pots, but does't like to use the large ones, as they take to much compost. Fifty or what !!!!
I tried that cider last night, smashing fresh taste. and boy did it help me sleep. lol lol I watched Police Intercepters for a while last night, whilst recording her SOAPS. I was just getting into bed when Ros came in from Choir. 9.15 pm. I read for a short while and got my head down, I slept like a log, until 6.00 am. Went to the loo, and back to sleep until 8.30. Never been known to do that. I must have needed it.
It's still pretty chilly, out in the breeze, I am going to get a hot drink, and go back to my book.
