You'll never guess what! Dyson man came before we went out, hooray! fixed it after bit of huffing and puffing, went to the dentist (me) OH did what OH's do!! came home,hoovered the hall and the sitting room,thought it was making an odd noise, then whoosh, awful smell and bang!! Dyson man is now coming again on Wenesday!!! can you believe that!!! if you didn't laugh you'd cry!!! the chip pan was sobering! I've actually done that, during my Domestic Science O'level! I ran to the sink with it on fire and poured cold water on it; it went off like a bomb, the marks were up the wall when I left School a year later, as a reminder I expect!!! luckily I wasn't leaning over the pan, but even so, it was a frightening experience but no harm done except that I failed my exam rather understandably!!!

Don't know where Jane is Frank, do you think she's got twisted up in her new Garland lol

Hubby's thumb seems ok no bleeding through the plaster now .

I should think it made your hubby jump Liz , that Dys*n going off like that ,what ever is wrong with it ? sounds a right dodgy one ,i'd ask for a replacement one , if somethings burnt inside it could have given OH a electric shock !!

Sheila what a shame the Ballet was a let down,no wonder the children were bored.At least April got there even if it was by the skin of her teeth.(is that the right expression.

Liz,I had to laugh at your D S disaster.I HATED DS.I did pass mine ,but not sure how lol
I do remember burning my eyebrows with a Bunsen Burner in Chemistry once.I can't recall how it happened now but it was a bit scary.

When I went to Tes** this morning I parked with one empty space on the right hand side.I came out to find a car parked so close to me I couldn't get in.I had to climb in and across the passenger seat.Got my trouser leg caught on the gear stick which is high set,then whacked my head on the rear view mirror.I eventually got seated ,and was exhausted lol.
The young chap with the car came back ,so I wound the window down and said "excuse me.I don't know how you expected me to get into my car you were very thoughtless"He said Sorry but he had only parked for 10 seconds !!!! Yeah Right.At least he looked shamed faced and skiddadled quite swiftly lol
Must get some dinner in now so BBL (hopefully)

Mandy sorry about your OH's thumb .That gave me the willies just thinking of it.I am still sorting out garlands ,tinsel ,lights etc.I didn't find a nice garland this morning so found some pretty tinsel Red and Green and twisted them together then put it on the top of the fireplace with the lights wound in ,and I think it looks pretty so will stick with that now.
I am doing Risotto for me and Chris ,and Hannah has a M&S Cottage pie which needs to be eaten.It is a tasty one with red wine gravy.
They will both be in shortly so better get on .I need to find the recipe for the Risotto.I have bookmarked it on the pooter

Oh Liz, that's a nuisance. Let's hope they fix it properly next time. At least some hoovering got done before the bang.

I have managed to ruin (according to OH!) my ss steamer pan by burning semolina in it !! Chucked the semolina away and it is all brown and crusty inside. I soaked it with soda crystals last night, but OH says it hasn't budged the burn. Any ideas anyone.

Today I broke the glass in a new picture frame trying to get the back off. We went to where I usually get glass in the city........all boarded up!! What's the third thing going to be??

Jane I've had that happen. Mine's a 2 door car and the doors are longer and so need more space than usual to open. It's a right palava getting in the other side! lol At least you weren't in a mini skirt!!

Ann, i burnt apple in my pan, i put ar*el washing powder in mine,with boiling water ,soaked it over night ,then got the scourer on it and it all came off with a good scrub.

FRANK!!! I could have been as thin as a stick and I still wouldn't have got in lol.The gap between the cars was just a few inches!..........You Cheeky Thing.

I think Schools weren't so hot on health and safety when you and I were there Jane! In fact my Convent (I can feel your eyebrows being raised Frank!!) relied more on God than anything else, with near disastrous results!! esp if we were taken to away matches in the School bus driven by a nun without any road sense whatsoever, straight through red traffic lights, out of side roads, without a glance to left or right. Trust in God she would say if we tentively queried her road sense and driving ability! Oh well, we had a lot of laughs!!!! Tomorrow, EDF are coming to change our Electrcity meter, lets hope that doesn't go off bang!!!

Bought a second hand TV on ebay recently for £13.50 inc carriage
Have it it parked on the desk beside my monitor.
Lets me watch TV or videos while Ellen watches another channel.

Well Chris is home and says half of the GP's are off sick ! So he says it has been one heck of a day.Not a happy bunny !.Tes** tills were only half manned today .Maybe they have a lot of sickness too.
I never remember so many bugs around when I was young.

Very frosty this morning and very cold too. Sun is out so maybe it will warm up a bit, it certainly needs to.

Sheila what a shame about the ballet when you waited so long for a lovely day out. Glad you liked the pc card, thought that would cheer you up.

Liz what a thing to happen just after you having the hover fixed too. I should ask for a replacement if I were you. It could'nt hurt to try!!

Mandy photos were really lovely and Christmassy. Loved the one with your little grandaughter and the reindeer. What a nice thing to keep too.

Ann in the wars again. Hope the soap powder works on your pan. If not just do it again and give it a bit of a boil on the stove, watching it as the foam can come up very quickly and silently. Mum boiled a sauspan over on our cooker and it all went down the back and the cooker would'nt work for ages till it sried out.

Jane you need one of those little mobile book thingies where you can download stories. Perhaps you will get one for Christmas???

Did a bit of shopping yesterday after the solicitors. Bought a few little things for OH and something for me from him!!!!

I had someone park right up to my boot once and the person in front had done the same thing. I could'nt have moved if I had wanted to and I did!!!!!! OH was very cross when I did get home but how do you explain a thing like that. I just had to wait until one of the drivers came back. I must have waited half an hour or more.
