Another one of my favorites on NOW.( NO LIKEY NO LIGHTY). What a bore. I think I am with Chris Jane,
Just bid on 5 items on Ebay. If I get them about £70.00 inc p.p. three bits of gold and Estee lauder private collection all her her ladyship.!!!! isn't she lucky to have me !!!! She dosen't think so at times. when I have my turns.
I was a 50s youngster ,Traditional Jazz. Chris Barber, Sandy Brown. before some of you were born. use to go to Wood Green, North London, every Friday night and dance to Chris's band. The condensation would run down the walls. But we were young and loved it. Come home on the BUS with soaking cloths, All went in the wash when I got home. Suit (yes SUIT) in the cleaners on Monday ready for the following weekend. We never went out without suit, collar and tie, polished shoes, and a white hankerchief in your top pocket. BOY, we looked the part.
Went to the Albert hall age 15 to see Louis Armstrong. What a great entertainer he was. They don't breed them like that today. Also loved ELLA and Peggy lee.

Morning All,
Very crisp frost morning here today.
Liz I am so pleased that your OH has an early appointment for his op and it sounds as though they are really looking after him. Thats the good thing about living down this way they seem to get you in quite quickly. I know they did with mums breast cancer and her hysto. There will be no riding Merlin for a while after then!! My best friend's hubby in Suffolk had that op a few years ago and all is fine now for him and he is a right woose.
Sun is shining and I have'nt done any wreaths this year at all. May try and dig some of the bases out tomorrow as I shall probably have to go shopping today.
9.14am.

11.46am Good morning one and ALL.
Had one of my twitchy nights last night, woke myself up for times. I don't think Ros too pleased either.
Mel, I know how you must feel, being the first Christmas without Mum. It's not the best time of year for those memories, is it???
Trust me to get it wrong, Elton is on tonight. Silly old sod !!!!
Spoken with my brother this morning, starting to sleep a bit better, and eating a bit of boiled fish. Not everybody's taste, but if he can get it down him. GREAT. Not got round to STEAK yet. Can't go out, and is very tired most of the time. I said plenty of rest, won't do any harm. But he was so active. !!!
Where's the rest of the bunch this morning.??? out shopping or sitting back reading the paper.
Lewis's football match has been put off this morning. It was one and harf hours drive away, so Son is quite happy not to be going. Bet they will go out for lunch today as it's DILs birthday. 52. It makes you feel old.

Morning (just). A very frosty and slippy morning, but is now thawing in the sunshine. I have been out and about since 9 o clock.I first defrosted a bit of my neighbours pond, checked their house, then drove to Finedon to give back a book that I had borrowed from a friend. Then i thought I would go into town and have a look at the big Xmas Market that I saw advertised.Well I was disgusted.Big Market my backside. There were about 10 very small stalls selling not a lot.I thought there was going to be local produce, but the only thing I found were jars of Marmalade and Hot Relish.I got a jar of the Very Hot Chilli Relish for James. That was it.No wonder people don't bother coming to Kettering! Hannah is sorting the tree !!!!!!.She says it is the worst one I have ever bought.I am inclined to agree lol.

I hope your DIL has a lovey birthday Frank.I'm 4 years older. I wondered what you were talking about last night when you mentioned Elton!!.I thought I must have missed it. I bet Mandy's G Children will enjoy Santa today.I remember Hannah screamed the place down the first time I took her.I suppose it can be a bit scary.I don't think children are allowed to sit on Santa's knee anymore .I think that is so sad,as the parent/s are always with the child.I have a photo somewhere of me sat on Santa's lap when I was about 3.
Well the tree looks far more respectable now thank goodness. We may seriously consider an artificial one next year.We will see. Frank have you got a pic of your reindeers yet?
I am not cooking until later ,so may crack on and wrap a few presents. 12.38

Just had a phone call from Rutland Son. They are travelling back from Torquay. M5 is blocked with a nasty accident, so they are coming down the M4 then onto A34. Which means they won't be far from us. What time are you having dinner???? We were going to call in and see you. Have you eaten I ask, NO came the reply. Now there are four for lunch. I had just finished doing the veg. so out it all came again. Good job we don't buy for just us two !!!! We always have some veg in the fridge.
Tried the dishwasher this morning. It blew all the lights. MORE EXPENCE !!!! I'll make that my middle name. lol lol
Feels a bit damp in the air. is that a sign of rain or more of the white stuff.
Still winning two gold items, and the Estee Lauder purfume. Lost the other two items. But there will be more. The trouble is getting them here ,for the big day !!!!

I missed your post Jane/fiona.
I still have photo's of my two children sitting with Santa when they were 2/3 years old. It's a wonder you can think back that far JANE with the life you have led lol lol
Fiona, We always made up christmas hampers for the (POOR) families in Kettering, when I lived there. At one time we were going to have a family for the chistmas day. But was advised against it, by a social worker. They had their reasons. But we aloways tried to help where possible. We have cooked a Turkey on the Sunday after christmas and given meals to old people on their own, who didn't have a christmas dinner. We have stopped that now as we go away.

Hi all,
Back from shopping and a lot of money lighter. I did get a nice piece of beef topside and a roll of turkey breast for Christmas though. All safely stored away in the freezer now.
Went shopping in such a hurry I forgot to take my list!!! and both my mobiles. Just as well OH did'nt ring me or they would have both rung in the kitchen by my pc.
Also bought two nice taffeta cushions in duck egg for the bedroom, could'nt resist them at £3.99 each.
Only missed a couple of things on the list which I can get in Holsworthy tomorrow. Have to go in and sign something.
Hope you all like what I have just sent you. It came from a friend in Gozo. If you are going to pass it on please copy and paste it so my email address is not on it. Thanks.

Evening All.
Thickish frost here this morning but it didn't last. OH decided to do his xmas cards, but all his addresses are in his organiser and the battery had gone!! lol.
There was a bit in the sunday paper this morning about a police sniffer dog spaniel that fell in a lake where I live and couldn't get out and drowned poor thing. It said a lady who was walking in the park saw it happen, but I live here and don't know of any park that has a lake???? Maybe the papers got the village wrong. There is one at a nearby village where the ice house is. The local paper tomorrow should say.
You had me going there for a moment Frank.....I thought I'd recorded Elton tonight!! Thought I'd gone more DO-LALLY than usual. lol
Still no christmas tree up yet! OH's Parents decided to have the car after they saw it. It is a Nissan Micra, so ideal for them really and was owned by an old lady who recently died. OH will be taking them to fetch it in the week......sooner him than me.....he's not looking forward to his dad following him in a strange car (his dad hasn't driven another car for 22 years)!! I've told him to ring me if there are any problems and I will get insurance cover for a day and will go and drive it back. I don't think OH or his dad asked many questions.....engine size?? .....service history?? ....I would have been rolling my eyes. lol.
I seem to remember visiting Santa once when I was little........didn't like him and it was only the prospect of a present that got me anywhere near him. lol
Looking forward to your pics Mandy.......I need getting in the mood for xmas this year!! Maybe I will play some carols tomorrow.
Jane, I have pm you.
