7.49pm
My programme is on,
No 2 son and DIL turned up for dinner. Roast beef etc. Must be a good judge. Enough of everything, and clear plates. I washed up, and son dried. They left about 6.15pm. to get home for X factor.

I'm having great problems working up any Xmas Spirit at all! must try and be a bit more enthusiastic!!! bought a Duck for Xmas Day which is now in the freezer, and have invited friends in for an Xmas drink next Sat, so maybe some spirit will appear then!!! Man comes tomorrow to mend the Dyson! it's been turboless since August!!!! OH had to be put under threat that I would buy a new one if this wasn't repaired before Xmas!! had the desired effect! Am watching Antiques Road Show, there are certainly some interesting things on show. Saw OH's cousins daughters' new baby yesterday! he was was month early, and a month later is still a wee mite! he's called Jolyon (!) William. Forsyte Saga I suppose, Think of going to school with that name!!!

Jane Report 12 Dec 2010 20:52

Liz,with things on your mind it will be difficult to muster up enthusiasm for Xmas.Just do what you both want and enjoy.I always think we think about doing things for others, but sometimes it is good just to think of ourselves.

I just had a Baby Scan sent from our young friend in Dubai .12 weeks. It is amazing ,I can't stop looking at it.She is feeling a bit lonely out there as she has no family, and her Mum is dead and her father out of her life.I just want to give her a hug,but it will have to be a Cyber one for now lol

Just watching the end of the XF,........Frank will be pleased it is the end.
I do like Rebeca

Wish I could play piano like Jules Holland, or play harmonica like Larry Adler or dance like Fred Astaire or be grateful for what I can..........

Morning All,

Yes another very frosty one this morning. Everything outside is white.

I really enjoyed that program with Elton John last night as he was so open about things. It's things like that that make you realize what they went through to bring us so much wonderful music in our younger years.

Lots to do today so may not be around much. Have to get all my papers together.

Dyson Man has just rung to say that he will be here this afternoon not morning! and, while I appreciate him ringing (has to be a first!) problem is that we are both out this pm, me to the Dentist and OH taking the car for a Service!! I did HOPE that Dysonman would come to us first, but No we are last!!!! Am going to leave machine in Merlin's stable (!!) and he'll fix it there!! am assured that will be OK! I hope so! Nice bright morning here, but wind definitely from the East which doesn't bode well!!!

Morning all
Very cold and frosty here, but it is bright, plan to decorate my front porch today but when I opened the door into the porch WOW!!! it was freezing so have put the fan heater in there to warm up a bit , I couldn't work in the colds freezing conditions., most of my plants have died to , which is not surprising. OH takes cuttings so we will replace them in the new year when it is milder.

Going up to dad's hospital to see the Mental Health officer this afternoon. she might be able to give me some idea of what is going on with dads care, as the nursing staff don't want to say too much at this early time.

off to get a coffee to warm up before I tackle the artic conditions in the porch LOL

Morning All,

I'm with you there David on all 3, especially the last!! I watched Elton this morning, very good programme. I remember going to see Elton at the old Coventry football stadium. Lulu came on for a short time at the start, then we were amazed at the performance he gave, non stop the whole evening. He even told the stewards to let some of the fans get closer to the stage. On the programme he came across as rather likeable. I found it interesting what he said about his father, who seemed quite like mine and the fact that he was 'driven' to try to make his father proud. I passed 9 'O' levels at one sitting to try to prove something to my father..... all it got me was a grunt from him, never even looked up from his paper he was reading.....funny how things strike a chord sometimes....

Hope the dyson man gets it working ok Liz, we can't manage without our hoovers, washers and cookers can we. Like Frank, I would miss the dishwasher, even though you can do it by hand.

Annx Report 13 Dec 2010 11:14

You are getting some really cold weather Fiona. I dread to think what has happened to my plants and ceramic pots up the garden.....haven't ventured to look yet. I hope you can get some info about your dad. It is good he is in a system of care now, but it will help to know what they can do for him and whether he can go back to the home.

M O R N I N G,
Good ol' frost here this morning. Clouds don't look to friendly, not sure what they are offering.!!!!

Liz, It's a good job you have somewhere to leave the Dyso# so he can work on it. I would have to leave it with a neighbour.

I have lost most of my pot plants, on the patio, also the ceramic pots. They sell them as frost free. but you try taking them back, they will say you should have emptied them, so the earth didn't freeze.!!!! Where are you going to put the plants, if you did that.????

You don't realise what a difference a door makes, I know our porch door is ajar so the cat can get out to his cat flap, When he nudges the door open to get into the porch, a winter gale comes screaming into the bungalow. And he hasn't learned to close the door behind him, when he comes in !!!!

David, My one regret in life, is that I never learnt to play an instrument I am so envious when I see the people play so well. I think I am a bit old in the tooth to learn now.

Fiona

Fiona Report 13 Dec 2010 12:02

Frank you will need to teach the cat a few lessons to shut the door, lol My family are terrible for leaving room doors open and when I shout shut the door , they shout back let me get through it first. they now say "mum we are going through the door now then say mum we are closing the door now," cheeky lot.

Just got a phone call from dad's hospital the MHO is coming here to see us instead of us going up to the hospital GREAT!!!.

Thankyou Ann & Maureen for your Christmas cards , 2 Robins .lovely

Afternoon all,

Frosty here this morning again, now we have rain .

We all had a lovely time yesterday ,the children were so excited and had a nice time , i took some photo's in the walk through to Santa's house ,but we weren't allowed to take photo's with Santa ,they took photo's and then you could buy them as a photo in a frame ,a key ring or a fridge magnet ,so i bought a photo in a frame .

Hubby's been doing some odd jobs at home today ,and what did he do ,only drilled through his thumb nail !!! came in and i had to put a plaster on it to stop the bleeding ,back in he came to have another on as it was coming through the first one , it has stopped bleeding now , i had visions of us at the hospital again ,like the time when he put the saw through his nail !!!
Iced my Christmas cakes this morning ,just got to put the bits of decoration on now ,so i'am getting there .
Looks like we're in for some more of the white stuff by the end of the week .
Time for a cuppa i think

2.23pm.

Ros bought bags a little fat sticks, which I have put into the wire bird feeders. They are everywhere fighting to get at it. The little TITS" don't seem to have a look in till the bigger birds are finished. The robins stay on the grass picking up the dropped bits, they seem to get more that way.

Had another EGG today two in three days soon have enough to make a cake !!!! Ros. keeps making "LEMON DRIZZLE CAKE" for No 1 son and DIL. she makes them one each, and they argue if one is slightly bigger than the other. It mine,!!! no it's not!!!!, like little kids.

Don't Mandy. Makes my knees shake !!! My favorite is cutting my fingers or hand. While cutting some plastic binding, I went straight though my finger to the bone. Good old black plastic tape.!!! Hope OH is allright.

Where's our Jane today, have I missed her.???

Hi
Thank you for all the lovely cards both sent to my home and on the computor they are all lovely and I did appreciate it. xxx

Maureen is so talented that card of the Robin and little snowdrops was beautiful you are so clever Maureen. I hope little Alfie is ok and enjoys Christmas with you.

Mel had your lovely glittering card on the computor. xx

Jane thank you for your card . a lovely christmas scene
all my cards are now on a frosted glass door in the lounge.

The ballet was a bit of a shambles at first we had a phone call from Wales saying they were snowed in and freezing so April could not come
so off we went Ho and myself and my eldest daughter and little Maddy from next door and sat through a fantastic lunch .Not much of it for the money but very tasty and different. The best belly of pork I have tasted with caramel mash and cider apple cabbage just a small piece with eatable cracking and some tiny cider frosted apples. I settled for champayne jelly and frosted berries for sweet being diabetic. The others had loads of stuff different posh lunches. We got a cracker and a party hat very nice lunch.
The ballet however was not very nice no christmas atmosphere and poor
Maddie was bored to death the music from Cinderella was not all that exciting hundreds of children all expecting a fab coach a beautiful Cinders and ballroom scene but nothing one very ugly clock and dark costumes and boring music. With a few lovely dancers at the end and a couple of frogs and two tiny mice with huge tales one of the mice got his tale trod on and could not move and was waving arms about trying to get the offending frog off which caused a giggle or two. It is on the telly at Christmas .

Anyway 15 minutes into the ballet Ryan and April arrived taking two seats that a lady with a young girl had left and gone the child was crying and restless so they went out. Ryan bless him got a train early in the morning
after a very bad journey in a taxi to the station to get April to the theatre and in the interval she said I do not like this ballet. Ryan was really mad and said your such a little pig sometimes April. That set her off crying. She screamed at him I am not Rashers he is a pig not me .
We were sat in front of her and pretended she was not with us.i think she was tired after that journey so I took her to the restaurant our table was still available for interval breaks and got her a few goodies and some pop.I did get I love you .nannie but Ryan is a goat poor Ryan.

We came out about 5 oclock and went to book tickets for the Secret Garden at the rep to music. More money for grandad and April perked up .They went home yesterday and Aprils coming next week earlier if the weather gets worse. Ryan declared his love for Jessica but said she had said It is Matt I want. I said you should have waited Ryan but who knows. He is very handsome but a little bit silly at times like at the funeral jumping over poor uncle Brin when he fell. But I like him. He did try to help April but ther journey was too much for a child.

My younger daughter is eating but not a lot .Baby is doing ok.

Like I said I have been very ill the doctor suddenly gave me 950 mils of diabetic tablet from 250 which nearly killed me I went into some kind of
trauma I felt like I had metal in side me, thrush ,a burning pain in my stomach, could not see and a dreadful thirst and off my food and was shaking. I went to the chemist and he said stop the tablet so I did and felt
better but its left me with sore dry mouth and a sharp pain in my stomach going to the doctors at 4 PM today.. I had painful knee but my lovely TENS machine took the dreadful pain away.
Good luck to anyone in pain or ill my thoughts are with them.

I thought the Corrie blow up and tram coming down fantastic and the scenes after but rather nasty for Christmas we need cheering up.

I hate to say this but we had the police looking for a gunman in our park the week end some guys robbed the off licence that had just opened went in with a shot gun.

Shirl that footage you sent me of the stealing of peoples details and card info is dreadful someone tried to get my halifax details last week they sent me a message saying my card had been cancelled and that was why.

Curry the shop did not deliver the microwave Sat do not have Sat deliveries yet they charged ten pound extra and it did not come came today; So we asked for the ten pound back and have to write to the head office. SORRY ABOUT GLOOMY NEWS .
