MrDaff Report 19 Jun 2010 11:52

Aw bless.... Mwah, Ann.... *fetches big bowl of prawns from fridge and settles down under Aspidistra*

Maz, the time really has gone quickly.... he has done well, lolol, considering the scrapes he gets himself into. Hearing about him reminds me of the advert cat, Felix. My Pol used to be like that when she was younger, and now Jethro has taken over.

BC, yooohoooooo, you ok?? I have a headache, too.... here you go, *puts tall jug of iced lemonade and big pack of paracetamol on table* just in case you need them as well!

Today I am going to chill out, dead head a couple of roses, dig up some weeds that are very large (R dug up the delphiniums, and left the tall buttercups) and there are some which are really invasive, and I have lost all the lavender as a result... I have zapped them with weedkiller every time they start, but I have to wait for a very still day, as it is right under the two rampant rambling roses which are very special, as they were bought when each of my Littlies were born. Their names suit the personalities and futures I hoped for... can't remember exactly what, but one is called something like free spirit, and the other something similar.. the tags are in the shed, but I can't reach them right now.

Oh, and I think some of the courgettes and peas might be just about ready to be lightly sauteed and added to our evening meal... first of the courgettes, lol I am so pleased with them. No potatoes though, we have had those, and the next lot will be another week or so. They need a feed, as well... the flowers are just showing now.

Tomatoes are absolutely dripping with flowers... almost ready to turn into little toms, I do hope Littlie gets to be able to pick them from the vine herself, as she wants them, next week. That is why I planted them.

Well... off to do some serious chilling out ;¬))

Love

Frets, hopes BC is not suffering too much after her drinking session last night.

glad you enjoyed the prawns daff.

Lol.pictures R making sure he doesn't have to do the weeding any more. (Leaving the buttercups and pulling up the delphiniums!) Nice one R.
My courgettes have flowers but no fruits as yet.

A bit dull and cloudy today. Hope you are doing nice things today....

Oh I forgot to say......HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIZMO!!!!!!!!! xxxxxxx

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 20 Jun 2010 10:19

Happy Birthday Gizmo.... bit ironic really, having a birthday around Father's Day and you so cruelly denied, lol.

Probably a good thing... Gizmo sounds an absolute delight, but I bet he'd be a rather dissolute daddy, lol ;¬))

Maz, I have a load of washing amost ready to finish, and out on the line... the load I had in last night is now fluttering in the breeze, and I have a load of towels all ready to go when this lot has finished... and the men in my life are like your neighbours, snoring their lives away on this beautiful sunny morning. What a waste!

BC, so pleased you had a wonderful time, yesterday and your birthday... and you are welcome, mwah.

Ann, yes, I did wonder if it is just an itsy bit deliberate... except that he grew the delphs from seed, so they are his babies, and therefore he had enough of a problem thinning them out in the first place, leave alone murdering them so cruelly, bless.

We didn't have the courgettes yesterday... but will have some today. And there are enough mange tout to have as well, plus the spinach and pak choi. It is great, having all this coming straight from the garden. The green beans have got their first flowers, now, too, and I think some of the beetroot might be almost ready. So today, it is chicken legs marinaded in white wine, rosemary and basil from the garden, and garlic, Med roast potatoes with rosemary/garlic/basil oil (home infused, got it infusing away as I type) warm salad of mange tout, spinach and Pak Choi, and shop bought baby carrots. All with a light butter sauce made from the meat juices. Then we have lots of (bought) fresh fruit to pick on.

So I am already looking forward to my dinner tonight... steroids have that effect on me, lol

I can also now reach the floor without groaning and creaking too much, my hands feel less swollen and tender/sore, and can wield a mop, and vacuum cleaner without too much discomfort... so I am back in the Domestic Goddess stakes, lolol

I woke from a very strange, and realistic dream this morning, so must go and find my dream book to interprete. It involved a young nephew who had miraculously grown up overnight, Christmas Pantomime/sort of Ice Dance Spectacular mixed in with military displays/Edinborough Tattoo type stuff. And the building being over-run by a bunch of nasties in para-military gear descending from the ceiling. The audience thought it was a part of the display, as I did, until the visiting dignitary and his family were all shot, and one of the shootists turned to me, said my name, and where I came from, calling it the gateway to the mountains... and I recognised my nephews voice. I had to struggle to wake up. He wasn't going to shoot me, that I am sure of... but he is not a very pleasant young man, in or out of dreams, but still only not quite 12....

Aren't dreams starnge things? This was very very vivid.

Right.... dream book and cuppa in the garden, after I have hung up this load that has just finished.

Have a lovely day everyone, however you spend it.

Love

Mau, I am at least 3 weeks behind with all my Writer's group stuff... I just had no energy or oomph for anything, but am now getting back into my stride.. the house and the garden needed a little bit of extra effort from me, and in the next week or so I shall get it all tickety boo, and during the resting sessions I shall let those creative juices flow... so expect feedback in no particular order, lolol in the next couple of days.

Oh... and Littlie will be here on Friday, so that is something to look forward to. Her room is now back to how it should be, and the trundle in it's usual place under the bed... and all made up with her Peppa Pig duvet cover and daisy throw. And no toys scattered all over the floor. It looks far too tidy and pristine, lol

Morning all.... today is fine and sunny, and I'd like Sian Lloyd's job, please, lolol

I have had a very healthy breakfast.... dinner yesterday was delicious... today I am doing a variation of Spanish omelette, only with tuna and salmon added through it as well as the potatoes etc... I love it, and it is gorgeous hot or cold. We'll have it cold with salad later. The potatoes are on now.

R has taken this week off, which I am pleased about. So today we shall just relax in the garden, and eat when we are hungry. Mind, he has to wake up first, *rolls eyes*.

Gizmo sounds like all of ours, Maz. They all come to let us know they are home from their adventures, and even Jessie has picked up the habit, bless her.

I am so pleased your laptop has found it's way back to Tenerife, Ann...

~~~~~~~ to Mummo. That will be lovely, to meet up with a friend after so long.
Right... off to do some magical Delia stuff in the kitchen, and then out to sit in a shady spot under the trees with a cuppa.... bliss!
Love and (((((hugs)))))
