MrDaff

MrDaff Report 12 Jun 2010 20:31

Lolol Ann.... did you get the battery for your car ok? I am lucky, R isn't really interested in the footie... Rugby is his love, and I don't mind that as much. He has turned Trooping the Colour on... and is now out the back watering the roses. We bought a new thingy to replace the broken one, so he is like a boy with a new toy, lol. I was very good, and didn't spend toooooo much. Soil, a couple of big pots for the beef tomatoes, a melon plant which I shall give a go, and some sweetcorn plants. We left it too late to plant seed. Oh, and some parsnip seeds. I was very good!

BC, your poor mum!! I don't mind the little harvest mice, they are sweet. But the boys have brought in baby rats which are horrible, yuk!! And the big mice... yuk as well.

I am tired again tonight, so am on my way to bed early... I had a job getting off to sleep last night, but once gone, slept for 7 hours solid... lovely stuff. Woke at 10.30 am, but am still tired now.

Love

Battery man, checked it and said it was only half charged, he sent T home to charge it up fully if he could and if it doesn't work to go back again on Monday afternoon. We get our batteries from him because he changes them without disconnecting the alarms. a little man in Cheltenham. Car has to start on Tuesday as it is going for MOT.

Well done on being good and not spending too much.

I will have a happy day if l don't think of.......................Mices, toads/ frogs or rats. ( Phobia big time ) :(((

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 13 Jun 2010 12:08

Another lovely day here..... promise not to mention any of those things, Mummo... are worms ok? I have two wormeries, you see.... I have some special pellets I give them every couple of weeks, and then all the veg peelings except onion and potato... they like the fluff from the tumble dryer and the inside tube of loo rolls as well... oh, and egg boxes. Then they reward me with lovely rich worm whoopsie that does the garden a power of good.... Are you more or less settled now, Mummo? It takes a while to really feel *at home*. xxxxx

I am like you Ann... but add golf to that list for me, as well... I just can't get worked up about it. I do like to watch the netball if it is on but only for a bit, I'd rather be playing even if only in my dreams, lol and also used to enjoy watching R play rugby and volleyball when we were younger. But even then it was more of a social occasion, as there was often a BBQ or buffet afterwards, and I got to meet other Brits. Hope the battery is ok for next week.

Maz, I keep doing that, as well.... it is very annoying, isn't it? Have you started the countdown to the summer holiday yet? Not far off now, is it? When do you sit your maths? It's the end of June sometime, isn't it?

BC, did the wee mousey enjoy your treat, or is he playing hard to get still? lol

Have a wonderful day everyone.... it is supposed to cloud over later, which will be good, as I am neglecting the house for sitting and flitting in the garden.

Now I have cut back the dicentra, I can see big gaps in the border........ Ann, I took loads of seeds from the helebores yesterday, so will pot them up later. And my aquilegia now have sandwich bags over their heads to collect the seed, as well... lol, they look very silly, but I didn't want them to scatter this year, I have specific places for them for next year.

Off to play in the sunshine, lol

Have a wonderful day everyone

Just been to B&Q for blue paint, then to the local garden centre ('Twigs' that was Daff) bought a load of in filling plants for all the spaces and also a rose bush as we have a large space in our bigger border. Madrigal, scented red floribunda. And some gravel to fill in the bare patches on our front, nobody walks on it so where does the gravel go to. ('to where does the gravel go?)

I didn't say I got worked up about golf but having played I can understand and tolerate it. And there isn't a yelling crowd to get on my nerves!!

Our hellebores have spread alarmingly but they do look nice when nothing else is flowering. And the aquilegia did there spreading around while we were away so they will be everywhere next year. Sadly we lost our pretty yellow one, well it didn't come up so I assume we lost it.

Oops, Ann.... I meant about any sport.... I just can't see the interest in it as a visual thing... to me it is participating that gives a buzz.... my one son gets all fired up about the football. Almost fanatical, I would say. I could never get that fired up about any sport.

I do like the ice dance, mind, but that is also artistic, and you don't need to understand the technicalities, just appreciate the grace and the beauty, oh and the drama of it.

Oh yes ice dance and dancing both well worth watching for me, but that is not only technically clever it is visually attractive, more than can be said for any sport.

Hi Daff and All
We've had light rain on and off all day today so soggy gardens! poor baskets will be getting too much now;O(.....but it was wonderful here yesterday and all the family enjoyed wine and food in Sil's garden, three generations together so lots of photos. taken.

It was great to meet our cousins again (not seen one of them for 30 years....a long time!!) so lots of memories to talk about,of when we all met on the beaches in Cornwall when our children were young, and we 'girls' wore bikinis lolol * sighs....

Mau XXX

Hope Mummo isn't troubled and hope she comes back to us soon. xx

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 13 Jun 2010 21:01

Mau, glad you had a good time, lovely meeting people we haven't seen for along time isn't it? Our group of friends used to meet on the beaches of Cornwall 30+ years ago too.

I think Mummo has her son visiting so may not be on here.... He might take his dongle back as well.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 13 Jun 2010 22:48

AnninGlos Report 14 Jun 2010 08:43

Good luck wih your exam Maz when it comes.

Rainy here, OH gone to golf, should be getting on with H********. house is a bit grotty. We'll see, at least I can't get out into the garden.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 14 Jun 2010 10:17

Morning all.... Maz, we'll all get dressed up in our Cheerleading gear and cheer you on, if you like??? Good luck with it, anyway. I sat my maths O level 3 times... well, it was GCSE by the time I passed it, lol got a grade C which is good. All four of us in this house got a grade C so no-one can claim to be better at maths than anyone else, lol.... no One-Upmanship allowed here.

It is pretty dull and a bit blustery here, Ann, so I shan't be playing in the garden either. Still, it is perfect for all the plants we transplanted yesterday, as nature has very kindly watered them in for us, and meanwhile, I will do something dramatic with a duster and a spray of polish. The carpet needs another shampoo or steam... those sticky things from the Horse chestnut buds don't half stain, and the cats bring them in. The stains do come out, which is good.

Have you got lots of photos for your scrapbook? That craft shop I was in last week is online, so I might have a nose so that R has a better list, lol I really would like a set of alphabet die and they are very expensive, but will be well worth it in the long run.

BC, I hope you are continuing to feel better. Nothing worse than a dodgy tummy... it confines you to barracks more effectively than anything else.

~~~~~~~~ to Mummo, Mau, and anyone looking in.
Love
Daff xxxxxx
