Ann and BC..she had a wonderful time, thank you.... R came home early, bearing said birthday cake.... she ate for Britain, and went to bed absolutely exhausted.... I have bought her another party dress, with a nice cardi, and wrapped it up for her to open tomorrow, along with hairbands, bobbles and knickers etc... but she opened most of them yesterday... in fact she opened some of them at the start of the week, including all bar token ones that B had bought her as well, so that we could get the pleasure of enjoying helping her play with them/wear them.

She was pleased to be going home to see mummy, but was upset because she was leaving me behind, bless her. It will be a short gap this time, I think about 2 or 3 weeks, so I shall be seeing her again soon... just get the house sorted in time for her to trash it again ;¬))

I have visitors next week, coming up from Southampton, and then on the 18th off to visit Princess Twinkletoes... I thought it was this weekend, but I had it wrong. It is the weekend of the school Fete.... her very first, so we are going to that on the Saturday. So, busy busy busy, lol

I have to go and dead head some of the roses now.... first time since last year, but they are budding at a furious rate, so it will get boring soon.

Ann hope you enjoyed your day out.

BC how was the dragon? If she was snorting fire then she was fine, lol

Maz, that is always the way.... I seem to get Jethro either yawning or asleep on his back legs akimbo.... very elegant, not!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to Mummo in case she pops in..... hopefully she can borrow her son's dongle again, if she hasn't got her connection sorted out yet.
Right.... off to do some more relaxing in the silence..... bliss!!
Love
Evening All
Daff you seem to have been having a ball recently with your Littlie,and she's one lucky little girl with all those pressies :O) hope she has a lovely birthday.
Saw a really funny sight at teatime.Me and OH were looking out of the window at the birds having a swinging time on the feeders,when over at the other side of the garden was next doors' huge,fluffy ginger cat.
With hind legs stretched right out and on his 'tip-toes' he was drinking from the birds' bath with his front paws in the water lol
I usually have my camera at the ready (for any events) but couldn't reach it in time,would have made a very good pic.
He then climbed the fence,chased the birds away and hung onto one of the fat-balls.....what a character!,,,still don't want him on our garden though :O(
Hi all, Yes thanks Daff had a lovely day out. The rain stopped before we got to Lyme Regis and the sun came out. We walked to the end of the Cob and I played French Lieutenant's Woman, then we sat a while, had a coffee, then T bought a pasty for his lunch and I bought some very moreish crab sandwiches which we ate looking at the sea. We drove back to Burton Bradstock and parked on the cliffs, had a cup of tea/coffee from the flask before walking out along the cliff in the sun, half a mile so not far but very pleasant if a bit windy. back to sit in the sun in the garden and read.
Omg!!! *puts sunglasses on* That's toned it down a bit, lol Tsk, BC and her eye for colour.........
I have been into Cardiff.... had a 10.30 appointment, then went to visit my parents, then did some vital shopping on the way home... I had a couple of glasses of sherry a couple of nights ago and rather enjoyed them, so went and got some more for tonight, and bought lots of bits and pieces while I was in there, as you do. I then walked in at home absolutely starving.... and have eaten all the prawns I bought for surf and turf tomorrow. I have just realised that apart from a Magnum at mum's, I have eaten nothing all day.
y mother has given me two raspberry shrubs, so I need to find just the right spot for them. And we are having the first of the potatoes today for dinner. I am so pleased with them, lol
I noticed a craft shop opposite where my appointment was, and went for a look around. I have got me my birthday prezzie, because it was reduced to half price, a Cuttlebug, Ann.... I am thrilled to bits. Plus the lady in there showed me how to use it, and then when I mentioned my inexperience with stamps, she showed me how, and I had a lovely half hour playing at the side of the counter. I shall definitely go there again.
Best go, as R has come home early again, so will need feeding! Pork shoulder chops, with new boiled potatoes and salad from the garden... scrummy!
We had huge fish and chips at a local fishing village in a real 'old fashioned type chippy. It was delicious and I am full so not ready to eat for ages. Now OH is wagging his tail and all excited as he is off to play golf (having to borrow clubs, shoes etc,) with our landlord, I have to admit I agreed before I realised it was a full 18 holes so shant see him for a few hours!
Have fun with the cuttlebug Daff.
Evening everyone, still here , haven't given my son his dongle back yet.......l did buy it for him so just checking it works ok ( well thats my story)
Eddie had his first hydro session today, he was only in the pool for 15 minutes but they told him it will be weekly sessions and a long haul. She did say to him that she ha been reading all his notes and he had certainly been through it and his reply was, my wife is the one that has been through it, oh bless him :))
We have settled into the flat and it really does suit Eds needs but having a few problems with the shower but O.T. have been out and hopefully it will be sorted soon.
Maz glad you got BC to sort the thread out, lol.
Ann sounds like you having a nice time, l could just eat some lovely cod and chips....mmmmmmm.
Daff your day sounded good, your dinner sounds lovely also.
Well l'm just going to sit down and have a cinzano and lemonade with plenty of ice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xx
MrDaff Report 10 Jun 2010 13:24
Afternoon everyone.... I have had a busyish morning.... stripped the bed, and bedding is now tumbling away happily to itself, turned my mattress, re made it, and now got a boil wash on. I cleaned the fridge, written half a book on another thread, answered three phone calls, and played a little bit with my cuttlebug.... which I am going to love. I can feel it in my waters! I have also played with a couple of the stamps, and am getting better at it. The lady helped me work out how to use that piece of equipment that I just had to have but didn't have a clue what to do with. So I am a happy bunny.
Mummo, I am so pleased that Eddie is finding the flat so much easier, and hopefully the shower will be sorted soon. He'll get so much out of the hydrotherapy sessions, and be prepared for him to be exhausted!
What about you? It has been a massive adjustment for you to make... does the flat suit your needs as well? It has been thrust onto you, so has all been a great shock. How are you feeling now? (((((((hugs)))))))))
~~~~~~~~~~ at Maz as she whizzes through the thread.

Ann, the fish and chips sound yummy. I looked at places to stay in Mortehoe (near Woolacombe) for September/October, just for a couple of days before B moves away. I want to go to the churchyard there, as there is a large memorial stone placed there by my gt gt gt grandparents to honour all their dead babies, and themselves of course. I have seen a photo of it, but would like to take my own, and put some flowers. I sobbed when I read that a couple of years ago.

Today is a bit of a mix, weather-wise... one minute blustery winds and showers, then the sun gets blown in for a brief, fitful visit.... and is then blustered back out again... it is cloudy just now. Warm though, not cold at all.

Hi all,
very blustery and cloudy with occasional flashes of sunshine today. We have done a short cliff and beach walk which was very enjoyable and sat and had lunch looking out over a wonderful view then came back and packed. T doing his 'signature' dish tonight so I am off the hook.
will be sad to leave Dorset it is so pretty and unspoiled.

some time back Daff we stayed in Woolacombe at a lovely very small hotel/bungalow, lovely area for walks.

Mummo, I am so pleased thT YOU ARE SETTLING IN TO THE NEW FLAT AND THAT IT IS EASIER FOR eDDIE, i AM SURE IF HE IS HAPPY THERE YOU WILL BE TOO. ((((((HUGS)))))) sORRY, CAPITALS, CAN'T GO BACK, THE KEYS ON THIS LAPTOP ARE CLOSE TOGETHER AND i KEEP HITTING THE CAPS KEY.

MrDaff Report 10 Jun 2010 18:55

Lol Ann.... I expect you will be pleased to get back to your PC..... I hate using an unfamiliar keyboard, too.

The places in Mortehoe are very expensive, so it may have to be Woolacombe. It seems to be the *seat* of my family... well, my paternal side. I am hoping that I can find a reference to my Gt Grandfather, who was born in Morthoe, and who was brought up by his grandparents. He named his father as William ***** on his marriage certificate, but there is no mention of him on his birth certificate, lol But sometimes they are added to the baptism details, aren't they?

I promised myself I would go there this year, and I am determined to.

R is home early again tonight. He has had his car in for a service, and the bill is very painful. He had a leak in the oil tank, and it had to be replaced or something.

Tonight we are having steak, new potatoes, pak choi, spinach and what are they called? Baby peas still in their pods, that you stirfry quickly? Anyway, those... all the veg is from the garden, so we are beginning to enjoy the fruits of our labour! Another week or so and we will have baby carrots, too..... scrummy! The courgettes are flowering, too.

Evening all:) Glad you enjoyed your holiday Ann, sounds wonderful. Well done Ed for doing his first hydro and also for what he said to Mummo....so true:)

How lovely Daffy, that you are eating what you have sown! Is it time to drag the spuds up or do I have to wait for them to flower? We are promised loads of rain during the night so no need to water. Am stuck indoors for a few days as have a bit of tummy problem and have to take loads of...er...stuff:)) lol Suppose it's good to have a clear out now and then...like a decluttering!

Hope you all had a good day...BC XXX

MrDaff Report 11 Jun 2010 11:03

Morning Maz.... absolutely beautiful here this morning... Littlie's bedding is all fluttering away happily on the line, the forecast is sun with some cloud but low chance of rain... and there is a nice bit of a breeze as well, so perfect drying day.

I am going to tackle the kitchen today.. I have a gleaming fridge, but didn't get around to really scrubbing the rest. I will also finish off the living room, and then play with my cuttlebug some more.

I have made a list of the dies I would like for it..... so they won't be short of prezzies for me, lol

I want to have a rummage around in the sheds... somewhere I have a lovely protector for the garden furniture... at the moment, I have my very comfy garden chair in the hallway tripping everyone up, because of the rain. I would like to be able to keep it outside all the time through the summer, and just covered up in the rain, so easily available to sit out on in between showers. It is awkward to be bringing in and out all the time, lol By the time I get it out there, I am exhausted, hot and cross, and it has started to rain..... grrrr!

Well, tea break over, back to the slog... actually I have had more break than slog so far this morning, so better go and earn my keep and my cuttlebug! lol

Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Love
