ButtercupFields Report 4 Jun 2010 09:39

Good morning Daff and all:) Just back from my week in Ireland and it was absolutely wonderful, as I knew it would be. Only down side is my lovely SIL is going through a bad time due to my brother's death, it will be two years in September and she doesnt understand why the grief is worse. Anyway we had a few laughs and I got her gardening. Then I got a coach to Co Clare to visit son and family.Lots of good food and drinking with my beloved son and beloved daughter in law, and visits from wild neighbours! lol My two grandchildren were, as usual, a total delight and we had great fun together. We tried to get a boat to the Aran Islands but the weather was too unpredictable. My last vision of them was son and them sitting on the stone wall in their pyjamas to wave me goodbye, and F saying he wished I could stay forever and ever. awww bless. I don't think so, as they had mice! lol

So back to reality now, will collect the dog soon and organise things. Had a very quick read of thread and so sorry Mummo has been 'down' and I want to wish her and Ed much happiness in their new home. I also see Littlie is with Daff and I bet they are having a great time. Happy holidays Ann whenever you are going, and a big wave to everyone else.

Mwah! BC XX

Good morning all.... and welcome back BC..... you have been soooo missed.... but I read Littlie your story night before last... changed the name to hers of course, and didn't have Buddy (her bedtime pal) as the talker, just in case.... but had her Hero teddy talk to her, lolol....... she was absolutely enthralled, and was sooooo proud that HER name was on the paper I read it from.... along with the fairies and teddies and bits of fairy glitter I had artistically embellished the page with... it has gone into her scrapbook now... and I shall use the same one with Princess Twinkletoes when we go up to stay the weekend after this......

I am sorry to hear that your lovely SiL is feeling so bad.... not surprising, as it is at this stage so many people think she should be *over it* and getting on with life... when in fact the hard reality is only just setting in for her. So she will not have quite the same support and consideration from some of her peers, I imagine.... loads of (((((hugs)))))) for her, and for you. I remember it well.... it was just before I was diagnosed.

Mummo, good luck for today, and wishing you all the very best in your new home..... and home it will very soon become, I am sure. Loads and loads of ((((((hugs))))) for you both.

Maz, sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday..... and enjoying your time as well, so how relaxing is that!

Ann, have a wonderful week away.... we will miss you.... always do when you're not around :¬(( but enjoy yourself.... and it looks like you'll have good weather too....

Mau... she is such a treasure, and has some new skill to delight everytime I see her... yesterday I was told that I was the bestest Granny in all the stars in heaven, lol.... that comes from me saying I love her all the stars in the sky and all the sand on the beach, lol but she has adapted it to suit her own needs. But it was totally involuntary, and was accompanied by the tightest hug and sloppiest, snottiest , slobberiest most delightful kiss ever, lolol.... and she still has difficulty formulating words.... she may have to start speech therapy in the next year or so. But she knows what she wants to say...... and that is what matters.

Right..... I need to do my T***o order for the month.... the poor cats are very low on cat food... and I have found that Littlies paddling pool has sprung a leak.... so we shall have to find and repair it.... or get her a new one... and then I want to cut back the dicentra, as it has all gone over now.... and Littlie took great delight in picking the first strawberry this morning... she said it was delicious...... next year there will be loads more, hopefully, but we have just two plants this year. Plus I need to give a good soaking to those areas that come into shade as the day wears on.... I am doing one area now, with the sprinkler... it gets the early morning and late afternoon sun, but is in shade for a couple of hours across the heat of the day, it is lovel. I need to pant up some more stuff there, too.... will do that over this weekend. I have beetroot, onions, and marigolds all ready to be planted in..... oh, and loads more coriander to be potted on, with swiss chard as well...... I do love getting my hands mucky... great big kid at heart, aren't I??

Enjoy this lovely day, everyone,

Love

Huia..... this is for you.... the negative/slide scanner that I have is very basic, and a couple of years old now, so it will probably have some much younger and more up to date stablemates. But it does the job very well, and suits my purpose. I know that your photography is much more advanced than mine (point and click, me, lol) but it works really well with all those old projector slides etc... remember them?

It is an HP Scanjet G4010 and was about £200 at the time.... about 2 years ago, now.

Morning Maz.... what is it about blokes and lying in on a beautiful morning? I am expecting the big monthly T***o shop... catfood and tinned stuff, too heavy for me to cart around.... any minute now... and it is just me and Littlie awake. I haven't had a shower, am still in my jim jams... and that is how I shall end up answering the door to the fella.... Grrrrr!! And all 5 of the cats sat waiting for the van as well, cos son bought *gasps* pouches in gravy, and they prefer jelly... so they aren't eating it, no way, bless them. And somehow they just KNOW that the good stuff is on it's way.

Not sure what I am going to do with my day..... Littlie wants to go back to the beach, and shall we take Grampie with us? Lolol.... he does make better sandcastles than I do, to be honest.......

Mummo, I do hope your move went as smoothly as possible...... I was thinking of you all day yesterday. xxxxxx

~~~~~~~~ to BC in case she looks in later.
See you all later.
Morning Daff and all:) Hot hot day here in London, just back from the park nd trying to intimidate a pigeon by throwing forks and spoons at him! lol Glad Littlie enjoyed the story, Daff, I had to read it twice a day and now have to write one for F and his Iguana. I have a lot to catch up on in our Writing Group but first have to go to my Singing Group...lol....
~~~4 to Mau....everyone sends their love to you from across the sea:)

On a practical note, do you remember I changed my doctors, well the one I have now is much much worse so I want to go back to the first one. Do you think he will take me back? I could always say I had a senile moment or summat, I suppose! lol

Have a lovely day everyone....

Afternoon all:))) First of all I hope Mummo and Ed are now settled in to their new home and things will start looking up for them. Maz I really laugh at Gizmo's antics. You could take a video and make a fortune out of him! lol

For Mau, you asked what colour my oriental poppy was and as it has never bloomed until this moment, I didn't know! It is big and blowsy and the pallest of pinky peach with purple inside it. Beautiful!

I have had a rush of energy and cleaned up the outside stairs and patio. I am afraid that dratted pigeon really has nested in my jasmine. Isnt this a bit late?? Two pigeons visit the hole in my jasmine each day. Tsk tsk....

I have also written a story for my grandchild F as I had written one for his sister.

*phew...think I shall have a lie down now.....pmsl...

Love to Daff and Littlie.....

MrDaff Report 6 Jun 2010 13:45

Afternoon all.... I have been here once... but my posting isn't showing, :¬((

It is quite muggy here.... littlie has a bit of a cold, and isn't 100%, awake a few times in the night.... she came in with me in the end, but is such a fidget!! Anyway.... we eventually got up at 10, and she ate a huge breakfast.... then *helped* me prepare all her favourite foods for her *party* tomorrow... she goes home on Tuesday, and she is 4 on Wednesday. So we have coleslaw, potato salad, savoury rice, beetroot in sweet vinegar, all ready to go... she really enjoyed making her own beefburger, lolol...... so that has been put into it's very own container with her name on it. We sat outside and did all the pat a cake stuff with it, lolol..... we have the jelly and fruit in the fridge... the icecream is in the freezer to go with it... and Grampy is getting her birthday cake tomorrow.... a princess one. They grow up so quickly.

She has gone out with daddy now.... don't know where, they are making it up as they go along I think., but she has insisted on taking her bucket and spade, so I fancy it might be the seaside. She wants a McDonalds as well.... she has already had her 5 veg tday, so that is ok...

Maz, that young man of yours is soooo funny.... a real little character.

BC, isn't it lovely when a flower blooms for the first time? My peony has just blossomed for the first time and it is sooooo beautiful and blousy, creamy white, with a faint blush of pale pink at the base, and a line of deep pink on the very edge of the outer petals, as though someone has gone with a fine felt pen and lined it. In fact, all my roses are blooming the best this year as well....the one, which hasn't quite bloomed, must have hundreds of buds on it.... my son gave it to me for Christmas the first year we were here, but this is the first year it has really taken off. It is such a shame, as I can't smell them... or the honeysuckle and jasmine over the arch just outside the conservatory doors... R says they smell wonderful. But they look stunning.

Oh dear re your doctor.... I am sure he will be pleased to have you back as a patient though........ :¬(( F will be thrilled with his story!!

One of my camellia is desperately unhappy in her spot, so I shall have to move her. I think I shall put her out the front. Just need to get the proper compost for her first.

Mummo, I know what you mean.... I still have boxes I haven't unpacked since we moved here, lol Did all go well otherwise?

~~~~~~~~ to everyone looking in,
Have a lovely day everyone.... I am off to the shower, and then to the garden centre, I think....... want to get that compost........ ;¬))
Afternoon, all, well almost done now, isn't it funny when you move into a new place and you move the furniture round and round then go back to where you first had it...............happened in the sitting room and bedroom, lol.
Don't know if its because l've been busy but l have been sleeping well since moving in here could zzzzzzzzz now.
Eddie has now got his first appointment for hydro therapy, its on Wednesday so lets hope it helps him, he never complains about the pain but you can see it in his face, bless him.
I know we are going to miss our garden but we do have space outside for a couple of tubs and some hanging baskets, so l will enjoy your gardens with you, lol.
Hope your all behaving yourselves and enjoying the day.xx
Well hello, we have just got access from our landlords here - Just been in for a drink or two, so will be able to keep in touch a bit albeit on OH's PC as mine as you know is still in Madrid. Weather has been great so far but is set to change tomorrow. Rain on the way unfortunately. Beautiful apartment, 100 yards from the beach so we are very comfortable.
Welcome back BC.
Glad Littlie is having a good time, hope her cold goes soon and a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her 4 years old WOW!
MrDaff Report 6 Jun 2010 22:49
Helllllllooooo!! I wasn't expecting to see you until you got back..... are you having a lovely time? So close to the beach.... sounds blissfull.
Littlie is full of life, lol..... she is now fast asleep, and seems to be a bit better.... not quite so *snotty* so it was just a headcold... she arrived with a bit of a nose and cough.... I have a suspicion that there may be a bit of hayfever type stuff going on... she also has a mild eczema that improves while she is here.... I think it is cos I use all the fairy sensitive stuff and not Bold.
They went to the beach, and then on to a friend in Cardiff.... the friends have a just three year old daughter, which is nice for Littlie. They all went to McDonalds together.... so she had a wonderful time.
I had a brain wave earlier..... I have looked for a friend I lost touch with on Facebook, but never gave a thought to on here.... haven't seen them for about 14 years.... we moved, they moved, and that was that.... anyway, put in her name and nothing.... so put in her daughter's name (she is one of my Goddaughters) and there she was..... so I pm'd, and had a reply straight away, and have chatted on the phone, and now have a new old friend on Facebook...... and I am just soooooo thrillled.
I hope we will be able to meet up soon. My Goddaughter has a 9 month old baby of her own, now and the last time I saw her brother, also my Godson, he was just about my Littlie's age..... and he is all grown up.
*sighs happily*
