MrDaff Report 25 Feb 2010 11:35

Well... we are all ready... just awaiting their arrival... I am getting very excited now... I have got some new bits and bobs for her... mostly to do with cutting, sticking and glueing, plus the scooter, and some new clothes for the baby doll we got her last time... fortunately, because she doesn't see her other toys very often, it is like greeting old friends for her... she rarely gets bored!! Also, she is a bit of a dreamy girl, so will spend time wandering around on her scooter or bike, just lost in her own little dreams.

Cuddles and cwtches here we come... all her favourite foods are either cooked and in the freezer, or on their way via S*******y later on this afternoon.... perfick.

It is a lovely day here... loads of starlings have arrived out of nowhere... had a frenzy in the big Ash trees at the back of us, but didn't seem to be bothered with the oaks or the Horse Chestnuts... then whoosh, they all went almost as one large bird..... amazing!! I have to say, I haven't seen them in those quantities here before... I know they roost nearby somewhere, as we hear them, they are very loud, but worse... their wittering wakes the crows up in the night, and that can be horrendous... they do go on so, don't they?

Ann, how are you today? Feeling any better? And Himself? Did his sneezes turn into man-flu?

Maz... not long, lolol..... will you start looking around then, or have you started already?

BC.... is baby boy with you yet? *sighs in contentment* the nice thing about baby boys, is even when they are a right pain in the neck.... they have our Littlies so we have to forgive them loads just for those little miracles, lol

Right... off to pace the floor a bit......... Jethro is helping me pace... bless him *rolls eyes*

Love

,daff I am always looking for an alternative to this job I am networking all the time .
But I am concentrating on tidying the house up for the wedding in May ,I also am hoping the weather dries up soon to allow me to get the garden done .it is very wet and dark here this morning my snow drops are just peeking through now so we are well behind with the season here

Hope you are enjoying your time with littly Daff. She will soon get to the age where she comes in looking to see what granny has bought her this time (been there done that!) Does she seem to adapt to the frequent holidays away from home?

Cold is still with me but so far I do feel a bit better, slept well and didn't cough. OH has not so far develped a cold, just a few sniffles. He has gone to golf so must be OK.

Morning all... Madam has breakfasted like a Royal, lol..... has watched a bit of tv... wanted to help Grampa get ready for work, lol... quick diversion called for... so we went out to feed the birds in our jim jams, lolol

She has re-acquainted herself with her toybox.... which she has very generously spread throughout the house, bless her... and is now mithering daddy to get up to go to the park (she means the garden, lolol). Daddy will have to soon... Granny is off to the vet with Polgara in a little while..... and then later today an overhaul at the doctor.

Why is it that our mind goes blank the moment we sit in front of them? This is only a *follow up* visit, nothing special... but some of the side effects of the new tablets haven't eased, and I know I shall be wracking my brains trying to remember what they are, lololol

Oh oh.... madam is here, has found her pink purse, and has emptied daddy's wallet of all his pennies to fill her purse up, lolol...... she is sooooo proud of herself!!

Must go.... have to get ready for the vet!

Oh.... beautiful day and clear blue skies here at the moment... I do hope it is going to stay like that... perfect day for the park!

Have a wonderful day, everyone

Love

Daff, glad she has settled in and is happy. Hope allw ent well at the vet with Pol.

I have been known to jot down what I want to ask on a notebook and take to drs with me. Explaining senior moments as the reason for this.

Morning Daff and all and good luck at the doctor and the vets today and in between hope you will have a lovely time with Littlie, which I am sure you will. Nice day here, the sun is shining and I have today off and son left some time in the morning..*.sobs... Am now using different pc on account of my eyesight but dont want to have the cataracts removed at the moment so am looking at life through a nice haze, which is really no different to normal...lol...am off to Kilburn to get bits and bobs if I can remember what they are.

Hope you cold is better Ann, and Maz´s loo looks lovely:)

Have a lovely day everyone. BC XX

AnninGlos Report 26 Feb 2010 11:30

Have a good day BC. From what I have heard from other people if you have the cataracts done you will be amazed at what you can see.

The sneezing is not so bad now, the cough is not too bad, just annoying. I slept OK last night but still can't be bothered to do much, feel achy and weak so staying in again and pottering. It was a very fluey cold, sometimes I get them like this, other times I sail through them. Mind you if I was working I would probably have had one day off them dragged myself in to work. There are some advantages to being retired and being able to be like a wimp!!

I have had the headaches and feeling tired but no sickness as yet ,but have just got rid of a nasty cough and cold
it is grey and damp here

MrDaff Report 27 Feb 2010 11:12

Morning all.... beautiful day here today, lovely sunshine... but we are all half dead... poor Littlie has been up quite a lot coughing and being sick... and then at 7am started with a runny tummy.... so I took over then. She is a little bit brighter now... son and hubby about to make an appearance, lol

She has just marched in to see daddy armed with half a dozen books to read....and all the felines have legged it out of her way in to see poor R... and they think nothing of running over him, rather than around, lolol

We are supposed to be off to the beach today, but will see how madam goes on... I think it might be a good idea to stay a bit closer to home. We have some gardening to do, so she might like that instead...

Mau, how miserable that sounds... sickie is one of my not so good things...lol

This time last year I had C Diff, septicaemia, and organs threatening to flake out on me, lolol.... so compared to that, I feel pretty wonderful, lolol

I am back on steroids... Prednisilone, just for 2 weeks... so look forward to buzzing by Monday, and leaping around like a spring lamb, lolol... the effect they have is quite dramatic!

BC, my mum had the second cataract done a couple of weeks ago... she has waited for quite a while for them to *ripen*. She is so pleased with the result, too... the downside, however, is noticing dust and cobwebs, lol... although where, I don't know, cos she is forever polishing and dusting!

Ann... have a lovely time today.... or have you sent T with a list? It is too nice to stay in! Well it is here....

Off to have a wander around the boards and see what is what........ then out into the garden.

Love

Strange day here, sunshine one minute black clouds the next. have done a big T**** shop and unpacked it all and now I feel absolutely whacked so will be lazing around this afternoon
Sorry Littlie had a bad night Daff, probably the phlegm (yuk) from the cough making her sick and affecting her tummy, but I would be inclined to keep her on light food and keep her home today in case the loo is required frequently. That is what I don't miss about having littlies around I must say.

Hope yous tart to bounce soon Daff, sounds as if you need it.

BC, enjoy your day not doing all you should be doing.

Hello everyone,
Hope all you poorly folk feel better soon.

We have the same weather as Ann but I did manage a short while in the garden tidying up a bit and moving a few pots around but now it is raining again so I am having a nosy round GR to see what's what.

I took some cuttings off some rose buses last year and they all have new shoots on so fingers crossed they will grow and grow lol, BiL told me how to do it but I wasn't sure it would work but it seems as if it has.

Take care all and enjoy whatever you are doing.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Feb 2010 15:11

Interesting Ginnie, I have never taken rose cuttings, hope they grow for you, have you grafted them?

JustGinnie

JustGinnie Report 27 Feb 2010 16:56

No Ann nothing so complicated , when pruning at the end of Sept. I took a long cutting removed all but the top 3 or 4 leaves and all the thorns then put in potting compost two thirds down and left to grow. I must admit I didn't really think they would take but they seem to have and they have survived the winter outside. BiL said the roses will be smaller than on the original but I don't mind that as they won't have cost me anything.
I also have brought rose bushes from the £1 shop as they stock quite a few plants and bulbs but the plants never get watered so die quickly so I rescue them and have had some good results in the past for very little out lay

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Feb 2010 16:59

I must look out for the ones from the pound shop. I have bought bulbs there before and they have been good value.
