~~~~~~~ to everyone... lovely to see you both, Puss and Jac.
Wmsl... I have had a giggle reading this... no, not stuck to any glitter, Jac, nor out too much gallivanting... but tied up all the same... sister popped around yesterday, and stayed for dinner... her hubby is driving her nuts, bless him... wittering on about funerals and such like, and H can't deal with it... he had a very nasty health scare just before Christmas, and is now just a little bit maudling and a huge bit cantankerous... and sister is not the most patient of souls, lolol So it was safer for both of them that one hid away for the day! We had a lovely time... put the world to rights, and had a good laugh...
Today, R and I were up early, and went out... had brunch out, went to Homebase and B & Q... then to Blooms for a coffee, and then back here, where I have supervised the putting up of a lovely curtain pole. It is very posh, and has a thingy to make the curtains open and close... it has been behind the sofa for three years!! Not doing much good there, lolol
Then a long call with my mum... who had her 2nd cataract done on Friday, out of the blue... they had a cancellation, and phoned her on the offchance... She is now a bit upset that she might see all the cobwebs in her bungalow, and have to go and clean them, ... never satisfied, are we? lolol
I am currently in the middle of burning the dinner... I forgot the potatoes once already, and had to start again, lol... anyway, they are now in the oven, crisping off, just need to make some gravy and put the veg on... it won't take long to do that, and the swearing has stopped, so I think R might have finished the DIY for the day, lolol ;¬))
See you all later
Love
Morning Maz:-) and how lovely to see Jac here again (I have made a note of that plant). My son is still here and has...wait for it...given me my own Blog to put my writing on! lol It was so funny he also got me a Twitter account or whatever you call it......Helllllppp!! I am engulfed with technology and all I want to do is knit or crochet! lol....
Cold and grey out there, I shall rest my tech addled brain before I brave the park.
Have a good day Daff and all:-)
So if you are missing BC we shall know you are lost in a blog!!!
Good morning everyone, not a very nice day out there, still very dark and gloomy. OH toddled off to golf muttering that he wasn't sure if his foot was going to play up again. Sooo if he knows.. why go???
Hope all are well. It doesn't seem possible that hal term has crept up on us already.
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 8 Feb 2010 09:27
WMSL.... sorry Ann..... it is ALWAYS lovely to see you.... but Jac and Puss are sort of prodigal sons, lolol.... have I dug myself out of my hole yet? lol Sorry!!
I have to take my little man, Jethro, to the vet this morning... he is feeling very sorry for himself, and keeps holding his paw up... I can see that his pad is a bit inflamed, and he is limping on it.... but he isn't allowing it to stop him eating... in fact he is using it as a *poor me* to get extra treats from us, lol.... but it is bothering him... appointment at 10.40, so I shall go and shower, then get his catbox out of the garage... I think that is where they are!
BC....A blog!! All your own... and Twitter? lolol.... is Twitter easier to play with than Facebook? I really can't get to grips with Facebook!
~~~~~~~ to Maz....

Right... off to get myself ready to take my poorly baby to the nasty lady with the needles, lolol Jethro is very good though... fortunately, he loves to be in the car, and is very sociable... he hopes there is food attached to every human, lolol

*Hands Daff a bigger shovel! Keep digging Lol""""

Hope the vet lady can fix Jethro's paw. Obviously been poking it somewhere he shouldn't. I hope it wasn't covered in glitter!! Anyway, hope all is well with him.

MrDaff Report 8 Feb 2010 11:52

lolol.... I reckon we need to stick Jethro and T in a room together... both insist on carrying on as normal even when it hurts, lolol

Jethro has a swollen pad... which I knew, and had bathed it a couple of times yesterday, which I am to carry on doing... she thinks he may have a thorn or something in it... he has been given a painkilling jab, and antibiotic, but nothing is broken or badly damaged... he is trying to sulk at the moment to see if he can persuade me to give him some more ham for being a brave little man, lolol However... he is too sunny natured a creature to sulk for long and keeps getting diverted by fun stuff... like a red feather from my craft box, and a leaf he caught outside, lolol

I am off to Dunelm... and if I can't get what I need, then the Range in Newport is close by, so I can go there.... I need some manly craft stuff for R.. I think he would enjoy doing it himself.... he was very artistic, well, still is... but I shall do a couple of pages for him as an anniversary prezzie, and see how he goes on afterwards.

Off we go then..... I might have lunch out, too...... that'll keep me going!

See you all later.

Love

AnninGlos Report 8 Feb 2010 11:58

Enjoy your day Daff. When is your anniversary and how many years???

I am waiting to see if he limps home!

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 8 Feb 2010 12:17

lolol, he can share the bowl of warm water with Jethro, if he wants, lolol.....

38 years, and 10 years since we renewed our vows, Ann, and it isn't until April... but strike while the iron is hot, lolol... I have taken photos of his medals, and already have photos of his citations... so I will start with some of those.... the one of him with Her Maj will be the first, I think.... that is easy and very stylised.... and the ribbon on the gong is pink and grey, so I will use those colours as a background, and I have them in my stash already....

I have all his pips and crowns and stuff... so will take photos of those and use them as embellishments... I was looking at decoupage, and I think that is rather like what I have been doing when I make my own... but muddled along not knowing what I was doing, lolol!!

I want some gold braid-type stuff, as well... rather than ribbon for some of the pages. Next weekend he is going to see if he can find his first payslip after he joined up... I have his last in with the mortgage details, lolol

I want it to be a history of his Military life.... I think he wants that too, rather than just an album of military photos, which he could easily do for himself.

Right... really really off now

Love

Not too much pink Daff!!!!

No complaints about his foot, just that it was too cold.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 8 Feb 2010 18:36

Evening.... had a lovely day, spent lots of pennies... and have a new bedspread as well, fancied a bit of a change/colour in there... it is very cream, lolol So I have a cream and deep red bedspread.... it is beautiful!

Oh.... and I bought loads of craft stuff from Dunelm, and the Range then went to Tesco and bought some stuff from there, too..... so feet are aching but my spendthrift itch has been well scratched.

Ann, the pink is actually an antique rose sort of pink, quite subdued... google the medal, and you'll see what I mean.... I will use that colour in the matting, I think, with the grey... his beret was very green, so shall try and get a little dash of that in somehow, too. But I want it very simple layout wise...... and a double page spread... it was a very special day.

Must go and make a start on dinner..... I am starving now.

Love

Evening to all,
Hope you are all well and keeping warm, it has been very cold here today so I haven't been out but done some washing and drying and the usual ho****work.
Tomorrow I am having my hair cut and then off to the dentist, I broke a piece off a back tooth and it is really annoying as it is making my tongue sore.
Wednesday I am having a natter afternoon with my sister so if I am not around it's because I am still chattering lol.
bye for now

Busy busy Ginnie, mind you don't lose your voice on Wednesday.

Daff, it all sounds wonderful, you will have fun doing that one, love the sound of the colours. Our Tesco doesn't have much craft stuff, just a few bits so you are lucky. Don't get to Dunelm it is on the westgate roundabout site so very awkward to get to.

Mau, let us know all about your grandson's trip wont you?
