Morning all.....

Ann, it is a nightmare, and I am surprised that Dunelm chose to have their store there..... it certainly doesn't invite new Dunelm shoppers, only diehard Dunelm fanatics, like me.... maybe we could call ourselves something Rambo-esq when we visit that store... like Dunelm Dodgemites? lol

Sounds like a perfect day, Maz..... I love a visit to the seaside, and it isn't a proper visit without fish and chips, is it?

The beloved one is still snoring for Britain... I have been up, a load of washing on, and had my shower, washed my hair etc.... so ready for anything. I am about to send in my secret weapon..... Jethro!!

It is a bit hazy here at the moment, but the sun is trying to muscle it's way through the clouds, so there is a promising glow appearing.... very pleasant.

Off to have a little wander around boardland, see what has been happening elsewhere.... nosy, me, that's my problem, lol

Have a brilliant day, everyone

Love

Well, we stayed in bed in the warm until almost 10, then caught the bus into town and had breakfast in Wetherspoons. Couldn't get over the number of people in there drinking pints before 11am!

We then walked down to the Quays and bought a few bits and pieces, got back home about 2pm.

One thing we have found surprising about having no heating is how cold the bed sheets are when we go to bed. You wouldn't think it would make a difference. But the other thing is that we have both slept well. Can't work that out because our heating always goes off about 10pm anyway and doesn't come on until 7am.

So far Mummo we are keeping warm by going out in the mornings. Luckily it has been sunny hear the past two days and that has warmed the conservatory, which is off the lounge, so we have opened the interconnecting doors and the heat has come inside from the sun! (cheap heating!) Upstairs is coldest so I have resorted to wearing a fleece jacket.

Downstairs will be warm later when I use the oven to cook the duck we have for dinner. (Duck crown to be precise).

Military page 1 has been completed, and is now proudly residing in the album... lolol... I am very very pleased with it, so is hubby......... he is scanning and organising, and writing up all his treasured photos as I type,,, in between burning dinner, so that we can do some more.... he got quite involved in it, and I think has enjoyed himself, lol

Ann, I had forgotten that about the freezing cold sheets... that is why we had flannelette sheets, wasn't it? They felt so much warmer getting into them. Sounds like you have had a good day, though, and fingers crossed the heating man will sort it all out tomorrow for you.

Mummo, I know... it was that Susan with numbers fault.... she phoned me, then put up that thread.... and I was glued to it, lolol!! I shall be in bed early tonight though.... I am very tired, lololol

Jude, thank you... I know it is silly to be so pleased with sommat, but heck..... don't care any more, lol.... I feel like a 4 year old bringing home her first Masterpiece! I really must get out more! ;¬))

Good morning, wet and gloomy here this morning. Plumber id here at the moment looks like it is the electric fan in the boiler and he is about to change it, just collected the new one £200+ VAT!!! then he is also going to service the boiler. I don't know how people who have to live from hand to mouth manage.

And our regular heating engineers phoned this morning, OH had eventually sent them an e mail that must have finally caught up with them as that is what she responded to. She said they didn't have any messages, we only left 4.

Hopefully by this afternoon we will be warm again.

Good morning all....well, what a morning!!

Poor Jethro has now got an even sorer paw... I have an appointment for him later on at the vet, but he is a true fighter, lol... he is still leaping all over the show, and just lifts his paw up for some milk or ham... in fact, every time the fridge door opens, there he is, paw at the ready to get the sympathy vote, lolol..... so I didn't take him seriously until I went to bathe it..... yuk, it is a bit of a mess, and that is since yesterday... it was looking good yesterday, too.

I have torn the house apart looking for my phone charger, and nowhere is it to be found... but I did find the half of my Blue badge that I mislaid a week or so ago.....I shall make donations to a charity on behalf of St Anthony, BC, lol

And now I have a pile of stuff to put into the zapper thingy... which I had tried to empty, and spilled all over the show, grrr!! So today has been a bit like wading through treacle.... only worse.

Ann, I do hope you are warm by this afternoon..... the weekend must have been pretty miserable, being so cold... even though you did get Himself to risk life and limb taking you to Glos Dunelm, lolol

BC, it is lovely to see them, isn't it.... and lovely when you have some space again for yourself afterwards... How is your dragon?

Maz, have you finished the decorating yet? Don't do too much this week, or you'll need another holiday before you go back to work next week, lol

Off for a wander around the boards, and then to see what other mayhem I can cause in my manky house, lolol

Love

AnninGlos Report 15 Feb 2010 12:10

Poor Jethro, hope is paw gets better soon.

We are warm now, total cost with the service was £215 so not too bad as last year the service cost £60. He only charged £20 for the service as he was already here. I thought that was very good, he could have charged anything, we wouldn't have queried it. And he is coming to fit new bathroom taps when we have bought them, we will definitely use him again.

We didn't get too cold over the weekend, with going out, once we were home and T was watching sport we had the fan heater in the lounge on low and with the doors shut it stayed reasonably war, It was just if I came up here it was cold so we had lots of hot drinks.

How do you lose your phone charger (well I shouldn't ask really should I?) I leave mine by the plug on my desk ready to plug in and charge the phone, do you move yours round the house then? Hope you have found it by now. At least you have found the blue badge bit.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 15 Feb 2010 20:47

*sighs*I don't know how I do it, Ann... it is a gift, I think, lolol I moved it from it's usual place..... I left it on charge overnight in the bedroom when I was using the phone as an alarm clock last week... well, whenever I went to the clinic last time.... and I have moved it to put it back... and clearly got side tracked while I was doing so, heaven alone knows where I have put it.

I got side tracked again.... I started to look for a specific photo to scrapbook... couldn't find it, so started to add tags to make it easier... I tend not to do that, but it is sensible, I suppose.

Then I printed a couple off.... totally different to the ones I went looking for... and have almost finished a page, since I got back from the vet at 5 pm... not bad going!! I have stuck the basics... can't use the ribbon or the brads until tomorrow, as the light isn't good enough in here to pick out the right colour blues. I forgot all about dinner, though.... so it is bacon, egg and oven chips.... I was going to do a smoky bacon and mixed veg creamy pasta bake. Oh well....

Jethro has woofed down his salmon laced with antibiotic and painkiller... Pol is being a right fussy prima dona and turning her nose up at hers! Oh, Jethro's paw is badly infected in spite of the antibiotic injection last week.... he has been very clingy, but not put off his food in the slightest, lolol..... He has fallen in love with the vet... she only looks about 12 and can't even be 5 ft tall..... and velcro'd himself to her shoulder, lolol.... he is a very affectionate and forgiving creature... but I still reckon he knew she had treats in her breast pocket, lolol ;¬))

Ann I am so pleased you are warm again..... nothing worse than being too cold....

Maz, it sounds good... I'd like to get my downstairs loo sorted... but we need to finish the kitchen and our bedroom first, lol!

Well... must go and sort the eggs out.... I had dahl for lunch, so I'm not hungry at all...
