Hello girls, yes this a very lonely little thread, it use to be so busy too, with all of us chatting to each other a good bit throughout the day.
Alun and I spent the weekend in the house apart from having to go out to get a few things that we needed. We had about four inches of snow over over Friday night and all day Saturday with freezing cold winds, so it was nice to be able to stay in in the warm.
Jennie and Michael are having problems with ants in their living room, so yesterday they bought some powder and some traps to try and get rid of them.....they have to be careful where they put the powder because of the dog. Anyway last night they noticed that the ants were not even going near the traps nor the powder, so as you can imagine J and M were tearing their hair out wondering how they were going to get rid of them. Tim, their next door neighbour suggested something that he had heard on the radio, and that was to put the powder on a 2p coin and put it near to the place they were coming from.......it worked well, the ants were all over it and then they were taking it back to their nest. It's suppose to take five days before they know for sure that they have got rid of them all.
Mo, have you got a darts match tonight? Hope you will win, if you have. Good luck.
Let's hope that they will sort out your hospital appointment to make sure you get the right kind of scan that you need.
Ann, I'm like you, we usually go for a look around, these places not wanting or needing anything in particular, but always mangage to find something that we didn't know we needed. I love the notice on their shelves, it is so true.lol!! Hope that the weather isn't too bad up in the Lake District for your daughter and son-in-law.
Jean, I hope you are feeling a bit better, haven't heard from you for a few days, so hope that you and the family are all okay.
Jeni, I hope that you are feeling a good bit better than you have been. Take care and keep warm.
I don't hear from Joyce very much now but she rang me on Friday night, she isn't too good at the moment, she has to go for a colonoscopy on 3rd April, so hoping it all goes well for her.
Huia, hope that you are okay, I expect that you are busy in the shop.
Sylvia, hope all is well with you and OH. Also hope that you are still having the good weather there and not like the weather we have here in the UK.
Marie, haven't heard from you for a while, I hope all is well with you and your family.
Well girls, I'm going to have a cuppa now, can't manage too long without one.lol!!
Speak to you all later.
Take care everone.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Oh Ann, I had to chuckle at the notice in Homesense, but how true it is. No matter what happens, when I go to the supermarket for one thing, I end up coming out with half a dozen. And I hate taking Roly, he is worse than a child when he sees something new on the shelves. Last week, he wanted to try a box of Chilli thins, they are similar to a crisp, but when he tasted them he didn't like them, so that was money wasted on a whim, as the scrap bin enjoyed them more than he did. Our spot lights in the kitchen, are a special bulb as well, and they are a devil to get in and out, so I leave them to Roly to sort out.
Sallie, thats a new one on me, about the ant powder on a penny. If we get any ants this year I shall have to try it. Mind you, thats if we get the weather for them. Unlike Jennie and Michael, we don't get them till the weather heats up a bit, thank goodness. Yes, I am going to darts tonight. I don't suppose we will get very far though, as the team we are playing are top of the league. I must go now, have to get myself ready, and we have to leave at 8.30, and I really need more time than this. Thank goodness I don't wear to much make up these days, only the poly filla takes ages to dry. lol Bye for now my lovelies. Mo xxx

Hello ladies, hope you are all keeping warm and not suffering too much with this weather, looks like most of the country will have a white Easter. Sorry I have been missing for a while, cannot seem to get myself motivated, must be my age. Still not getting anywhere with the crochet but have started knitting an arran cardigan for Scarlett. Think it is time I went to bed, am falling asleep over the keyboard. Good night everyone, God bless. Take care and stay safe. Love to you all <3 <3 Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

Hi Jeni, good to see you back. I went and saw my doctor today, re my scan. Showed her the letter from the hospital, and the fact that it's a pelvic scan, and not what she had asked to be done. She was gob smacked, and is going to send another report to the hospital, telling them that it's an upper abdominal scan, and not a pelvic one. I still have to keep the appointment in April, but she has given me the written report of what she wants doing, and I have to take it with me to ensure they do it correctly. When she checked my records, I had a pelvic scan done last year in January, and she thinks they may have got confused. But to be honest, it would not surprise me to know it was the person who sent off for the appointment at the surgery, maybe one of the receptionists/office clerks getting my notes mixed up. Still it should all be sorted now.
I hope everyone is well. Take care love Mo

Hi Jeni, I think it is this awful weather, the continual cold and gloom, Difficult to make yourself do anything. I have started a little cardigan for the gt grandchild expected in June but have only done the first few rows, keep finding other things to do. I did manage to do a few rows of double crochet but left that too. Have made some cards though.
How did you get on at darts Mo? At least you have an appointment for a scan, let's hope, now that they will know the right place to scan, that they can find out what your problem is.

Hi Ann, we lost as I expected us to, but then thats nothing new for us lately. I played like a right plonker, and I know it's no excuse, but I felt rotten all night. I shouldn't have gone out in the first place, but when we only have a bare six players I didn't want to let the team down. But I wasn't bottom average so I suppose thats something to be pleased about. lol
I must go to bed now, so I will say good night god bless girls. love Mo xxx

Sorry you lost Mo, But, as you say, it was not a surprise. Still you can't be competitive if you don't feel well. Your health comes first, you shouldn't have gone. Hope you are feeling better now. Roll on that scan.
Cold and grey here today and T is playing golf, he must be frozen and he can't cope with the cold. But, like you he was committed to a match.

Many thanks for the lovely Easter card Sallie. You girls are dead clever with your card making, yes, I know I have said this many many times, but you are.
Ann, I hope you had the kettle on, to warm T up when he got home. We have been very lucky here with our weather today, the sun is shining, and it's quite warm outside. It's amazing what we endure for our favourite pastimes, the only difference between myself and T is that my hobby is inside, and T's is outside, in all weathers. But he does get enjoyment out of it, and like myself suffers the consequences. lol
Time for a cuppa now, so see you later girls. Love Mo

Ann, thanks also for your lovely Easter card. Yes it is a die cut, it'scut from one of the dies I bought in one of the crfat shops in Derby, but they also sell them on the craft sites on the internet. It's the Marianne, Anja quadrate die, I must say I have used it a good bit since I bought it........I think I now need to buy a couple of different ones for a change.
Hope T enjoys his game of golf and will be able to get warm quickly when he gets home.
It's very cold here again today with tiny bits of snow coming down, just hope it doesn't get worse.
Mo, sorry you lost the game on Monday night, but as you say at least you didn't come bottom, so that is something.lol!!
I hope you are not suffering too much with the pains in your stomach at the moment. Let's hope that all is now sorted so that you will be given the right scan that you need when you go to the hospital.
I got a pm from Jean this morning, thanking me for the Easter card. It's tomorrow that she goes to the hospital for the appointment that her dentist made for her. Understandably she is very worried that it will be something awful, so girls could we all send lots of thoughts and prayers to her.
Jean, sending you lots of positive thoughts and prayers that all will go well tomorrow. I will be thinking about you.
Talking of dentists, Jennie had three top front teeth out yesterday and also an impession for dentures to replace them. It's a good thing she isn't bothered about going to the dentist, unlike me I'm terrified. I think that because she went to the orthodontist for a good few years as she had to wear braces, going to the dentist was easy to her.lol!! She certainly take after Alun and not me, thank goodness.
Jeni, hope you are feeling better and having plenty of rest.
I don't know where all our other friends are lately, hope they are all okay.
Must go now, it's that time of the week again when we have to do the shopping, I don't like it at all.lol!!
Speak to you all later.
Take care.

Sallie glad you liked it. I like the Marianne dies but haven't noticed that one. I hope that Jenni gets on ok with her denture. I have had a top front teeth (3 teeth) one since I was 21 as I had an abcess after having our daughter. It will take some getting used to I'm sure as she will probably have one they consider temporary for 6 months. Trouble with that is having to pay twice.
Shall be thinking of you tomorrow Jean and hoping all is OK.
Mo, I walked round to get the papers this morning and thought it was very cold but T said once out of the wind they didn't find it was too bad. He was well kitted up with three layers then his jacket and long warm socks etc.

Hello girls, I'm just wondering how Jean has got on at the hospital today, I hope and pray that there is nothing to worry about.
We went to Derby this morning I needed to get some meat from the butchers in one of the market halls and also had to go to the craft shops for some more card and paper. As usual I couldn't resist buying two embossing folders.lol!! It was very cold there so we went into our favourite tea/coffee shop and had lunch there. Also bought some books in W.H Smiths, three for £12.99, which was good as just one cost £7.99. So looking forward to a good read, but I only mostly read in bed, it tends to relax me so that I go to sleep a lot easier.
Mo, how are you feeling today? I hope that you are feeling better and are well enough to be able to play darts this evening.
Jeni, how is the knitting going? I expect you have done a good bit of the the Arran cardigan for Scarlett by now. Hope you are feeling better and are taking things easy.
Ann, have you done anymore of the cardigan that you have started for your expected grt grandchild. I have to be in the mood for knitting these days, although when R and J were small I did knit some jumpers and cardigans for them. As you know I'm more into card making these days.lol!!
Well I must go now , speak to you all later.

Ashamed to say I haven't found time to do any knitting since I started the cardigan, I do have to be in the mood and the cardigan has a double cable up the front and back so I have to refresh my memory on doing cable which I keep putting off. I will be fine once I get going as I used to knit Arran sweaters for the children when they were young.
Jean's appointment is not until this evening so I expect she is nervous now. I am sure she will know thatw e are all thinking about her.
It was sunny here today but still cold. We just went for the papers then round to the local garden centre for a coffee. had to wait in first for the Bosch dishwasher man to come and change a switch - the one that has caused fires and prompted the recall. He said our machine was not showing any sign of danger anyway, he also said the model we had, he hadn't found any of them showing danger signs which is good. Except that since we knew I have been washing up by hand which now seems unnecessary Lol.

Thanks Ann, couldn't remember what time Jean's appointment was for..I had hoped it was an early appointment so that it got it out of the way.
Glad to hear that your dishwasher is sorted and that the model you have is not one of the models that have not caused fires. I'm glad that we had a new dishwasher, if it had been left up to Alun we wouldn't have had one, but I really missed the dishwasher as I hate washing up by hand, so eventually he agreed that we would buy a new one.
Our dinner is ready now, so better go and dish it up.

Morning all, we went to the hospital last night, the cold was severe and we eventually got in to see the consultant at 8.35 my appointment time was 7.10, there were only four people waiting , it took ages, well he had a look and I have to have a biopsy, In about two weeks when I get a time to go, he seems to think it is nothing to worry about but need to be sure....we had decided to have some tea when we got back , but as it was so late couldnt face cooking , Debra was out, so we called at the chippy ..... I couldnt get warm so put the lecky blanket on and went to bed, it took ages to get warm, so thank you all for your kind wishes and prayers, I will hopefully get some cards done later, and Charlie is coming at some point over the break, so enjoy your Easter time, at least the weather looks a bit better .... isnt it this weekend we put the clocks forward an hour? lovely light nights,,,, :-D :-D :-D just going to have a coffee so chat later keep warm, Mo , I hope your problem is soon sorted and it will be quickly dealt with, take care, we are praying for you l,

Dear Friends, I am sorry to see and hear on the news of all the snow you are having, I do hope you are all well and your homes are warm, unlike you we have been having some lovely weather , our night's are chilly but our autumn is nice and warm. I have been spending all my time in my garden trying to get it ready for winter, I still have 5 Kurajong trees to plant in the next few days, I have had them for awhile but we needed rain before I could dig the holes to put them in. when I get them planted I will have to protect them as it wont be long and we will have our frost's.
My Family are all well,my Granddaughter Sarah will be married on the 6th of April. I have two frocks one for a warm day the other for a cool day, so I wont know which one I am wearing until the Day arrives, I didn't buy a new dress the Warm one is royal blue and I have only worn it once, the other is a green strapless with a long jacket, I bought it years ago and have never worn it .
I am rather tired so will close , Love and Hugs to you all <3 Marie

Marie, how nice to see you. Lucky you having so much warm weather. I think we here will soon be dressing like eskimos if our weather doesn't improve, our winter seems to be going on forever. However, down here in Gloucestershire, at least in the Severn Valley, we have had hardly any snow. We can see it on the surrounding hills but none where we are. We keep thinking that it surely can't go on for much longer.
I shall be glad to go to Tenerife in may for some warmth. (I am told it is 26 degrees there today).

Hi girls, Marie, lovely to see you on here. You are lucky having a nice warm autumn, as you know it is very cold here in the UK. We had about four inches of snow last weekend here in our part of Derbyshire, and although most of it has gone there is still some of it about. We always say that it's hanging about for more.......I hope that that won't be the case.
I knocked a mug off the kitchen yesterday afternoon and it landed on one of my toes.At the time it really hurt a lot but it isn't so painful today although it's paiful when I move it and when I walk, so I am on my heel of that foot.....toe iis a few shdes of black, blue and red.lol!! We are going to a 60th birthday do tonight, with a buffet and then a disco, so won't be doing too much dancinglol!!.....not that Alun does much dancing when we go to party anyway. I usually find that not many of the men dance, they just leave the dancing to the women.
Well I must go and get ready now, so will speak to you all tomorrow.
Take care everyone.
