Hello ladies, hope you are all ok.

We have lovely sunshine here today, same as yesterday, think I will spend some time in the garden, get it tidy ready for the spring.

Still not getting anywhere with the crochet, think maybe I'm too old to learn a new hobby, will just carry on with my knitting, going to start a cable cardigan for my grandaughter.

There was a light frost this morning when I went to do the horses, but it had cleared by the time I had mucked out and fed them, so I turned them out, rugged up of course, will go at lunchtime and take their rugs off.

Jean, I am so glad you and Jeff enjoyed your special day.

Going to have a coffee now then go start to do some work.
Take care and stay safe everyone.
Jean xx

Hello Jean (JW).

I have not tried the crochet again for a week as we were away and I was knitting for the expected Gt grandchild in June.

Von has sent me a DVD to watch though so I will have another go when I get in the mood. Difficult when there is so much to do. Also been making some cards for charity.

I bet the horses kicked up their heels to be out in the sun. :-D

Jeniwren Report 5 Mar 2013 13:07

Hello Ann, hope you get on better with the crochet than I am.

I tried making cards once, but they ended up more like comic strips than cards, you must be very artistic, how I envy you.

When I first let the horses out this morning they ran around like mad things for about 5 minutes then calmed down and walked round sniffing at everything, Charlie, my grandaughters pony went looking for a mud patch to roll in, her favourite passtime. lol. although it is a filly my grandaughter insists she is caled Charlie, it was going to be Kermit, but I talked her out of that, didn't fancy standing shouting come here Kermit.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the day.

:-D :-D

AnninGlos Report 5 Mar 2013 13:13

Well Charlie is also a female name when a derivative of Charlotte so that is fine. Kermit would not be good no, I can see that :-D "Hop over here Kermit".

Hi Ann, I know, it's very quiet on here, it's the same on a few other threads too. We must all be lost for something to talk about! Although I am busy making cards for March birthdays at the moment.

Hope you and T are both okay.

Morning peeps, I am in the wars again , I have a very bad back ache, well its just at on side low down , we took M to the outlet and I couldnt walk so spent most of the time sat on a chair , M and J had alook round M managed to buy a few things as she does...lol... we had some lunch and came home I went to bed with the electric blanket on thinking the warmth might ease my pain, just before i could feel my self falling asleep I reached down to switch it off and fell off the bed which is quite high with a deep mattress. D and J ran upstairs , luckily I wasnt hurt , but couldnt get up and they couldnt lift me, we tried all manner of things, with poor Jeff gatting more and more upset because he couldnt help me , I couldnt get on my kness as they are crumbling, so what did I finally do , now I dont mind if you find this funny , I did , :-D :-D :-D, I was flat on my back wriggling along the floor until I reached the stairs we had extra rails put on the stairs both sides when jeff was ill ,I managed to grab one, then the other side, edged to the stair edge and pull my self up. so got downstairs , btw our stairs are quite narrow and steep , so it was a bit hairy....then burst into tears :-( :-( :-( but we are scared now if I fall again somewhere else , how do I get up???? I am trying to shed some weight but its not going to happen overnight, so you can guess I am a bit down hearted .....and scared.... cant get to do my cards cause of my back , its a bummer( excuse the pun) :-D :-D :-D... well pity party over.... so how is everone else doing and all the new littlies our Charlie is comong on in leaps and bounds,
off to have brew no biccies :-( :-(

take care love and ouches Jean xxx <3

Morning ladies, Jean I am so sorry about your fall and the back pain, hope you managed some rest last night. I think back pain is one of the worst things to have, no matter how you sit or lie it doesn't ease does it?
I did laugh at your description of how you managed to get up, but I know it wasn't really funny for you. Hope you find it a little easier to move around today.
I am just enjoying a cuppa then it will be off to do the horses before I start on the housework, almost weekend again, how quickly the weeks are passing, I never seem to get as much done as I want to, think I will have another go at crochet later, am determined to get the hang of it.
Take care Jean, and take it easy today.
Have a good day everyone, Jean xx :-) :-) :-) <3

Oh! for goodness sake Jean, what am I to do with you girl. That must have been some dream you were having, to make you fall out of bed.
I do hope you get over the fear of falling my love, I know it can scare the life out of you when it does happen.
Have you fallen else where, other than out of bed?
PLEASE take care, and next time you get tired, take Jeff to bed with you,( but no monkey business)
Back ache can be as bad as tooth ache can't it. I nice hot water bottle might help to ease it for you.
It's going to be very hard for you, not being able to do your card making, but you must rest your back, and now your aches from the fall. MWAH xxxxx (((((((big hugs for you))))))

Jeni, you are right, the days seem to fly by. When I was at work, I seemed to be able to do twice as much as I do now, that I am retired. When I think I used to be able to hold the job down, and cope with all the house work, plus having the grandchildren popping in, but now, if it aint dirty, it gets left. lol

Well what a change in the weather girls, it's been raining all day, but it's that fine stuff, not great big down pours, and it's really miserable.

Love and best wishes to you all my friends. Mo xxx

Oh goodness Jean. Maybe you should find an old quilt/duvet and lay it by the bed so at least you'd have a soft landing. Can you not kneel on something soft to help you up. It must be worrying for you. Do you have a heat pad for your back? Do you know what has caused the back ache and have you been to the doc with it (I can't remember)? Back ache is horrible, I had a bad session of it a few years back, just get it occasionally now.

I am surprised that the dentist referred you without telling you.

We have just been to Cheltenham, had a Chinese buffet lunch then went to the cinema to see Terence Stamp and Vanessa Redgrave in A Song for Marion. Quite a sad film, very well acted and directed and, although sad uplifting as well. Worth seeing.

Jean, hope your back is feeling a bit easier today and that you have recovered from your fall out of bed.
My uncle suffered with pain in his back off and on for many years, there were times when he didn't know where or how to sit or lie, to try and get comfortable. Bless him, I don't know how he managed to go to work sometimes, he worked in the Steelworks over the years he suffered with his back.....maybe it was one of the jobs he did there that caused it, although he didn't seem to think so at the time.

Jeni, how is your crocheting going? Hope you are starting to master it now.....my mum taught me how to crochet when I was a teenager and over the years I made quite a few things, but haven't done any for years now.

Mo, and how are you going along with your crocheting going too? Like Jeni, I also hope that you are now starting to work out how it's done. Good luck to you both.

Sylvia, hope all is going along alright for you and your family.

Ann, glad that you enjoyed your lunch out and the film afterwards, even though the film was very sad.

Hello to Huia and Marie, hope that you are both okay.

I'll speak to you soon.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi Mo, and everyone
xxx

Oh Jean! I do hope you soon feel better! xxxxx

I have back ache most of the time because my spine is deteriorating due to osteoarthritis, but I can usually keep it at a low level with pain killers. I do occasionally get a real bad one though, where I cannot even move.

If I'm up and about I have to go and lie down, flat on my back.

Getting up is then quite the performance ................ fortunately, our bed is quite low, and doe not have a foot board.

I have to flop myself over onto my front, keeping my back as straight and stiff as possible. Then I have to hitch myself round so that I am lying across the bed.

Now somehow move backwards ........... still on my tummy, until my knees are at the edge of the bed. A little further, and my knees drop down and touch the floor.

Now, I push my torso upright until I am kneeling, Then I move sideways to the bottom of the bed. I move round the corner. When one leg is still parallel to the side of the bed, I raise that knee ........ and somehow eventually power myself up into a standing position.

No-one has actually laughed at me .................... but I wouldn't be surprised if they did!

I do have some slightly stronger pain killers .................. but heat usually does better to get that bad one to manageable, movable state.

Do take care xxxxx

Sylvia, sounds funny reading it but I bet it is too painful for you to laugh.

Sallie, not ever so sad, a bit sad but there are funny moments because it reflects life and death and grieving, anger and acceptance. Excellent acting.

JustJean Report 8 Mar 2013 10:07

Hi Jean, I did 'speak to you a bit further down the page but you ignored me *sob.

Glad your back is a bit better. did I not reply to the last lot of photos you sent? I thought I did.

L said she sent you a card re the pieces you sent her and she owes you a reply. I hope it is ok I have given her your e mail address, with working from home it is easier for her to e mail than post a letter. However she is away for the weekend so not sure when she'll send it.

A bit worrying as daughter has sent Mother's day cards to me and her OH's mum and neither have arrived, although they went in the same post as Jean's card from her.

Just been to tesco to get dinner for Sunday, not a very nice day here, raining quite hard now, thick misty rain, so not going out anywhere else.

JustJean

JustJean Report 8 Mar 2013 13:15

Sorry Ann, I was sure I had replied, but perhaps forgot to send it..... no hope for me...
Yes its fine letting L have my e- addy her selection of die cuts are very nice, I have used a couple .... my lady I buy die cut shapes off as just sent me a selection of new ones , I do like to see them before I buy the actual die, so I will send some onto you .... we are going to have a look at new mattresses later Dreams is next door to Range so as they are supposedly closing down we thought there maybe a bargain or two. I want a standard size mattress the one I have is quite A deep one,
and of course I shall have a peep in Range well we do need a new potato peeler
someone threw ours out with the peelings, :-| :-|
so bye for now love and hugs Jean xx <3

I see you want less far to fall Jean Lol!!! Dreams in Gloucester seems to have been saved by a buyer. Hope you find a bargain though.

Glad L's die cuts were of use/interest to you.

Still no Mother's day card received. :-(

No Ann there was only one and it was too soft.... got the Docarft mag out of Range quite dissapointed with it mainly about scrapbooking, and I was in so much pain couldnt be bothered to look round other than get a potato peeler, so J was happy....
