Hello ladies,
Jean, like you I need to sort out my clothes, since last June I have lost over two stone in weight, so hav a lot that are much too big for me now. Trouble is I don't like to get rid of them because most of them have hardly been worn and too good to throw out, although I would take those to one of the charity shops. I only take a size 3 shoe so haven't got too many pairs....it's getting more and more difficult to find a size 3, so many shoe shops now start at a size 4.
Mo, hope you managed to get to see your doctor today and that he/she has been able to give you something to take so that you will soon feel a lot better.
Have you seen Lilly lately? Hope that she is fine with no more problems, Bless her. I bet she loves the new babies, I can just imagine her with them......really loving.
Alun and I took Jennie and Michael out for lunch today, thought it would be nice to give them a bit of a treat, as Michael is still signed off work with the two fractures in his elbow. He is waiting to go and see the Consultant that he sees for his back, apparently he has seen the xrays Michael has had and isn't happy about them, the fractures are not knitting together as they should have by now. So we will just have to wait and see.
Afterwards Alun and I went to The Range, needed some glue and a few other bits and pieces. We also had a look in Staples for a chair for my craft room, but couldn't see what I wanted and the into Hobbcraft to get some card that I had seen there.
Huia, nice to hear from you, glad to know that you are ok.
Dizzi, hope all is well with you, come back and chat to us anytime you want, as everyone has said, you are always welcome.
Jeni, how are things with you? Also hope that all is well with you too.
Sylvia, not sure when you and OH get home from your trip. Hope it all went ok under the circumstances and that your friend isn't suffering too much pain at the moment. It must be so difficult for his wife and friends seeing him as he is.
Marie, also hope that you and family are all okay.
I'm going to make a couple of cards now, might pop back later on.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello my lovely friends, I managed to get to see one of the doctors in our practice this morning. After listening to my chest and back, poking in my ears, looking up my nose, taking my temperature as my body was so hot, he came to the conclusion that I didn't have a chest infection, but that the virus I have had since christmas was still hanging around, and had gone on for to long now. Hopefully now, I will start to feel a bit more like my old self. Thank you all for your concern.
Sallie, the date of celebration for our anniversary, is a sore subject. My thoughts are, that we were not wed on the 28th of February, but the day that followed it. Roly insists that we celebrate on the 28th, and thats where we differ, as I think it should be the 1st of March. :-S :-S :-S What does everyone think, am I right or is Roly?
I will try and get back and speak to you all tomorrow. Night night god bless.love Mo
Good morning to Huia,Sylvia and Marie.

Mo I think that as long as you celebrate it doesn't matter. But you were married in Feb not March!!!! :-D
Jean that is some clear out. yes I have. Few pairs of shoes I should throw out too but got rid of loads of skirts a while back. Have so many pairs of trousers but still keep buying them. Should maybe have a sort out of those.
Sallie we can always find things to buy in the Range!!! :-D chairs are difficult as if you are like me you spend a lot of time sitting in it. :-D
Huia, glad you are ok.

Mo, if I was you I would have two celebrations, Roly could choose the meal on 28th and you could choose the march one, ....sorted.....
I never did get the sorting done so this weekend I will......I keep getting lured by the thoughts of cards :-D :-D is there no hope for me :-( :-( :-(
Sallie I have an office chair handy to turn from one side to the other...I also have a mesh back rest on it too....
I am off to bed after I have had me horlicks, nite nite, sleep well everyone. love Jean xx

Mo, glad you got in to see one of the doctors. At least you know for sure that the virus is still hanging around, you have our sympathy as both Jennie and I know from our own experience that the blinking things can hang around for three to four months.
I think I would choose to celebrate on the 1st Mar, but Alun thinks it should be on the 28th Feb as that was the month you got married, so sorry we are not much help to you.lol!!! As Jean suggested you could celebrate on both 28th and the 1st Mar.
Ann, I liked one of the chairs, it was really comfortable but it didn't seem to go up very high, although that wouldn't bother me too much, with me being short I don't think it would be too much of a problem. Alun thought that it wouldn't be high enough to sit comfortably at the work.
Jean, do you you find the mesh back on your chair comfortable? I seen them at Sta---s, but didn't try sitting on them.
I'm going to have a hot drink now and then it's off to bed.
Goodnight all and sleep well .
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi Mo, and everyone
so glad you managed to get into to see the doctor Mo. Unfortunately, there isn't too much you can take for a virus!
My birthday is Jan 7, and our anniversary is Aug 12 ........ but, like Huia, a mention on this thread is all I would like. Overseas postage is horrendous.
It was a beautiful sunny day today, and it was warm enough that I had the patio door in this room open for about 3 hours this afternoon. Then it started to cool down, and the room got chilly, so I had to close the door.
The ferry ride back yesterday was very pleasant ............... the Coastal Mountains were in full view as we sailed down the Strait, all covered in glistening white snow.
We had both a good time and a very hard time with our friends.
R's dementia has worsened dramatically since we last saw him ........... in fact, it shocked someone who had seen him less than 10 days before.
Add to that the weight loss due to the cancer (he is down to about 125 lbs)......................................
Fortunately, he didn't seem to be in any pain, and he was eating quite well.
Yet, it was great to be with him and his wife ............. and to make his wife laugh.
He paid little attention to most of the conversations.
In fact, we're not even sure that he knew who we were, other than I and S staying for a few days:-( :-( :-(
Now I have to try to prepare my daughter about what she will face when she comes out in about a month's time .......... along with the possibility that he might have had to go into a care home or even hospice.
We did sleep very well ................ the houses are in the city limits but each is on an approximately 1 acre lot, surrounded by trees, so it feels like being in the country.
take care everyone
s xx

Hello everyone, Sylvia, it must have been heartbreaking for you both, to see the deteriation in your friend. Your friends wife, was probably grateful for the relief of having someone to talk to, and share a laugh with, it certainly can't be easy for her, especially as it's not just the one thing he is suffering from, and to see him fading away in front of her eyes.
I bet the views from the ferry were wonderful. Did you take any photographs?
Like you, we have had a lovely day today, so nice in fact, that I managed to get the washing out on the line, for the first time this year...mmmm it smelt lovely when I bought it in.
We have a busy week, with the little ones this week. On Wednesday, we have got Lilly while her mum is at work, and on Thursday we have got our new great grandaughter Zoey, whilst her mummy goes to her other great grandfathers funeral. They have had to wait over three weeks for the cremation, as both the crematoriums were chocker block with funerals waiting to happen. If you remember, I told you of his passing, the same day as baby Zoey was born.
Well girls, I think I will go and get myself something to eat now. Take care one and all. Love Mo xxx

Hello everyone, hope you are all ok. We have had 4 days of lovely sunshine here, felt like Spring, done some tidying up in the garden and planted some Polyanthus, they are very colourful and make the garden look nice. Still haven't attempted crochet yet, but am going to give it a go tonight, the book I bought looks good, starts with the absolute basics. Going to make a cup of tea now and get started on crochet, could be some bad language flying around. lol. Take care and stay safe. Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

Jeni, tut tut bad language indeed. You will have to give Scarlett some ear plugs if that starts to happen, you don't need for her to start down that road,do you now. ;-) I hope you can make heads or tails of the book showing you how to do it.
I couldn't believe how light it was outside at 5.30 this evening, I had got so used to switching the table lamp on mid afternoon, that it amazed me I didn't have to do so today. Our clocks must change soon, but I can't remember what month they do. I know they go back in October, but can never recall if it's March or April they go forwards.
I shall have to try and get an early night tonight, as we have got Lilly early in the morning, and she is like a little whippet when she runs around, it fair wears me out chasing her.
It has been quiet on here for a couple of days now, I do hope you are all well. Take care all. Love Mo xxx

Mo, the clocks go forward in March, five weeks on Saturday, like you I am looking forward to the lighter evenings. With it being a nice bright day here today, it was quite light until about twenty to six.
I hope that you feel a bit better than you have been lately...yes an early night is a good idea as you will need all your energy so that you can run around after Lilly tomorrow. Bless her Oh to be two year old again, and know what we know now.lol!!!
Alun and I are going down to Richard's tomorrow until Friday, we are looking forward to spending some time with him and Christie.
Jeni, hope you have managed to get started on your crocheting. I know when I start something new it takes me a while to get started, thinking I'm not going to be able to do it.
Jean, Huia, Ann, Sylvia, and Marie, hope you are all okay.
If I have time I'll try and get on here again while we are at Richard's.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Sylvia that is not fair, you get extra light evening to us.
Mo Hope you enjoyed your time with Lily. And sally hope you enjoyed your break. It is always good to see our adult children isn't it? This weekend we shall be seeing our second eldest Grandson and his fiance. She is not happy as she works in a spinning mill, the same company as Axminster who have called in administrators. Looks like she is going to lose her job.
Anybody read the papers and seen the woman in Gloucester (Churchdown) who has 11 children and who is having a 6 bed house built for her by the housing association? If I look out the bedroom window I can see her house, it is on the main road 2 minutes walk from us. It seems she won't be much loss to her neighbours!! :-D

Phew, our little princess has gone home, and peace reigns again, till tomorrow. She is such a funny girl is our Lilly. She is a bit slow with her speaking, but she manages to say harder words, like todays was crocodile, but as for getting a sentence out of her, well it's like trying to get blood out of a stone. My son and D.I.L are quite worried about her being so late with her speech. They compare her to our great grandaughter who is four months younger, and says lots of things. But, it's as has been said before, you cant compare two children like that, as one may be forwards in one thing, and slower at others.
Ann, I had read about the woman being re-housed. Is the new house the one that is going to be 2 minutes walk from you, or her old house? Either way, lord help the neighbours, with 11 children to have to put up with, making a racket at all hours of the day. I know we had the five children, but they were kept under control, and taught to respect others privacy.
Thank you for letting me know about the clock changes,Sallie and Sylvia. I remember the changes in October, as thats my birthday month, and they nearly always change around my birth date.
I hope our Jean is o.k, as she has not been on the thread since the 15th of the month. It doesn't seem right without her being around to torment me ;-) ;-) ;-) I am a glutton for punishment. :-D :-D :-D
Before I forget, I hope both Ann and Sallie have a wonderful time with their families.
Right girls, I am away for now. Speak to you later. Love Mo xxx

Hello girls, Ann, I see your neighbour made the papers again today. 11 children, they own a Pony,a Macaw,a Labrador, 2 chihuahas,a cat,2 Guinea pigs,a Rabbit and 3 Gold Fish, how the heck do they manage to feed all of them...a stupid question I know. And now they are building her a £400k house. I think we have been doing something wrong during our lives. No one helped us when our children were young, we slogged our guts out to keep a roof over our heads, and food in our bellies. Whilst I know the woman is getting over cervical cancer, but I feel sure that others who have been in the same situation, have not had this much help. Enough, I must get down from my band wagon now, or I will bust a gut.
Well ,we had our great grandaughter yesterday afternoon, and what a little doll she is. I had never seen her problems with her toes and legs before yesterday, but poor little mite, her toes are really crossed over, and she cannot straighten her legs out properly. She has to see the physio therapist on Monday, and has to have her hips x.rayed the week after. I just hope and pray they can sort these problems out for her, she is absolutely beautiful when you see her in the flesh, rather than a photograph.
It has been bitterly cold here today, with snow flurries nearly all day, but fortunately it has not laid.
I must go and start doing the lovely hot curry we are having for dinner tonight. So I will say cheerio for now, take care of yourselves. Love to all, Mo xxx
