Oh Joyce sorry to hear your news, at least he isn't suffering anymore he's now at peace. I know he had been ill for a long while.

Hope you will start to feel better soon. Have you had a date for your Colonoscopy yet? Just hope that you don't have to wait too long, the sooner it's sorted out the better.
Just take care of yourself.

Also hope that Sheila will soon get better too. These viruses that are going around at the moment seem to take a long while to get rid of.

Hope everyone else is alright today. I must do my ironing now.lol!!!

I'll get back to you all later on today.

Mo in Kent Report 29 Jan 2013 16:50

Yes Ann, they have spelt the baby's name Zoey. When my daughter first printed the name out, she spelt it Zooey, silly girl ,we said it sounds like she was born in a Zoo.
But our daughter had made a mistake, and grandaughter soon put her mum right on the naming of her daughter.
Zoey has to have physio done on her feet and legs, as her toes are lapping over each other.
The specialist said, that it was where her feet were so far down into the pelvic canal, that the toes had to cross over each other, for baby to be comfortable in the breech position.
She is home now, and is such a tiny little dot. All the new born clothes she has,are far to big for her.

Joyce, sorry to hear your bad news love. You must think of yourself for a change, and get yourself better, you are very important to us.

Huia, the very dry spell over with you and OZ, is a real worry to everyone isn't it. And yet, there are still some stupid idiots, who think it's funny to start fires. Stay safe honey.

Sallie, take a look in the cyber hatch, my washing is in there awaiting ironing lol

Bye for now girls, see you later. Love Mo xxx

Joyce I am sorry that you are so unwell and also sorry to hear the news about your ex husband.

Mo It is an unusual way to spell it but they do seem to want to be different these days don't they?

Just back from the Les Mis film, Had a chinese buffet first then went to the 1.10 performance. Well half an hour of adverts from 1.10 which I hate because like TV they are louder than the film then two and a half hours of the film, really comfortable seats though so it didn't seem too long.. Enjoyed the film. Very good. Wasn't keen on the casting of the inn keepers and Russell Crowe is no singer but the others were very good. I thought it enhanced the stage show, the story was clearer in a way and really brought to life how the revolution would have been in a way it could never be on stage because of cast numbers. Very enjoyable anyway and we actually thought the girl who played Cosette was very believable in the part. Some of the stage ones we have not liked very much.

If you haven't seen it yet do go if you have the chance. :-)

Sallie Report 29 Jan 2013 21:01

Hi girls,

Ann, so glad that you and T enjoyed your afternoon out. I can't comment on Les Mis as I have never seen it, although everyone I know that has seen it on stage thought it was very good. You never know, I might get to see the film one day soon.

Mo, I managed to get half the ironing done, the rest of the time I made some cards, a get well card for Jean in Monmouth and a birthday card for one of my cousins. It looks as though I will be doing the ironing tomorrow morning before we go to do the shopping.lol!!

You made me chuckle when you said about your daughter spelling Zoey's name the way she did. Hope that the physio will soon sort out the problem for her.

Jean, looked in The Range and HobbyCraft but they don't sell waxed paper, so will have to look in Derby when we go on Thursday. According to the internet they sell it in Lakeland, so I'll look there on Thursday too.

Huia, did you meet some of the new ones when you called at the shop today? I expect you had a cuppa and a good chat to them.

Sylvia and Marie, hope things are well with you both.

Speak to all soon.

Love, Sallie.xxx

AnninGlos Report 30 Jan 2013 10:06

Oh Jean it is a wonderful show and the singing is great too. We found that we enjoyed it more seeing it for the second (third and fourth) time as you know the story then. There is more in the film of course because they are limited on stage with scenery but the film is a great spectacle and the music is all there. We have the DVD and video of 10th and 25th anniversary performances, no acting in those just the wonderful singing.

Just looking in to see how you all are before I get ready to go and do the weekly shop. Always glad when that job is done, especially with all the prices going up as they are....if we didn't have to eat and keep clean think how much more money we would all have to spare.lol!!

Well I have finished my ironing at last, so can now get back to doing more interesting things....like card making.YIPPEE!!

Joyce, if you are looking in, I hope that you have had the hospital appointment come through today...the sooner it comes now the better. Also hope Rachel is feeling a bit better today.

Well girls, must go now, I'll look in again later on today.

Take care everyone.

What a day it's been, we decided that we would go and take a look at the new Mo**sons, that has opened not far from us.
A beautiful shop, with everything you could possibly want, on the biggest plot I have ever seen.
I know they normally have a great display, but they had exceeded themselves in this new store.
The problems arose when trying to enter, and leave the store.
The clever powers that be, had not taken into account the volumme of traffic onto the industrial estate.
They had set up temporary traffic lights, with a man changing the lights manually.
Oh what a shame it was, after such pleasure in the store. Talk about a proper muck up, putting it politely that is. lol
But, we will be going again soon, and hopefully they will have sorted out the teething problems.

Sending my best wishes to you all, love Mo xxx

Sallie Report 31 Jan 2013 17:53

Hello girls, come out, come out wherever you are.lol!!! Just hope that you are all okay.

Mo, I wish they would open a large M****sons store here as the nearest one is 5 miles away, quite near to where Jennie lives, but it isn't one of their bigger stores, which is a pity. We have a T***o extra, but we don't shop there unless we need something urgent.

Hope that your granddaughter and baby Zoey are both getting along alright. Have they told them when Zoey will need to start her physiotherapy.

Alun and I went to Derby this morning as we needed to get a few bits and pieces, the trouble is we always end up buying more than what we went for to start with. Of course we were there longer than what we had intended to be, so we thought we'd have our lunch there and it would save me cooking when we got home. I think I am becoming more idle as I get older.lol!!!

I bought another embossing die in one of the craft shops I usually go to, I had been looking for it for a good while, so will be busy trying it out tonight while Alun is at the model railway club.

Well I had better go and make us a snack now as it won't be long before Alun goes out.

Speak to you all later.

Take care everyone.

Hi Sallie, what die did you get? I am being very good at the moment trying not to buy more stuff, I must use what I have :-D I di however get a bag that is especially for dies and embossing folders , I also found an old photo album, the sort that you slide the photos in, so now all my smaller dies are in it....

Mo , we have two M..... close by, J and D shop at the bigger one every sat and have breakfast , we also have a smaller A**A that is very good, we have an abundance of supermarkets, in the area of the town and also in the smaller town closer to us.... but no clothes shops for men and older ladies, no wonder folk shop on line :-| :-| :-| hope Zoey is doing o.k. our baby is not doing much so next week if he decides not to bother E is going to be induced.....so watch this space.....

hope all our other friends are o.k. Joyce we pray you are feeling better and the results will be able to pinpoint what needs to be done to make your life easier,
so I will say bye for now love Jean xxx <3

Morning girls, hope you are all alright this morning. I'm just going to pop up town for a couple of things we need and then I am in for the day.......going to do one or two chores and then make some cards.

Jean, your grtgrandson is nice and warm and comfortable where he is by the sound of it, I don't blame him it's blinking cold ' out here ' lol!!! Hope that by at least this time next week he will be here. Have they chosen a name for him yet?

I got the Marianne Anja Large Oval Die, been looking at it for a while but couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to get it. I bought it in the small craft shop in one of the market halls in Derby.
I love going in that one most of all, they have a great choice of all makes of dies and embossing folders, really spoilt for choice there. The lady that has the shop have now taken over the stall opposite the shop where she now keeps all the card, paper, embellishments and all the ready made cards of all shapes and sizes. Trouble is, I spend too much when I go there.lol!!

Must go now, need to get up to town, speak to you all later on.

Take care.

Mo in Kent Report 1 Feb 2013 16:19

Well girls, it's February 1st today, thank goodness January is over. What a dull depressing month it's been, snow, rain, high winds....surely it will start to brighten up soon, and help us to get over the winter blues.

Baby Zoey, is having physio done at home by her mummy. The hospital have shown J. L how she supposed to do it, and she will be checked over by the doctor, to see how her toes are progressing.
We are taking her to the registry office on Tuesday, to get her birth registered, then down to get her benefits sorted out. Our grandaughter intends to have the permitted time at home, with her baby, before returning to work.

Jean, your G.Grandson will soon be here my love, and no doubt he will be very much spoilt and loved by you all.
Looking into the face of an innocent new born, is an indescribable feeling.
And looking at their tiny hands, grabs at your heart, their fingers and nails are just so perfect.
Yes I know, I am sounding like a daft old bat, but oooh they are just so beautiful.

Sallie, I think beween yourself, Jean and Ann, you could open a craft shop with all the bits and pieces you buy between you.lol ;-) ;-) ;-)
But I know just how much you all enjoy yourselves doing your card making.

I have been a busy bee, for two days now. The nets have all been washed, the windows cleaned inside, and all the upstairs spring cleaned. The house is now spick and span, for five minutes.
Got to go now, and start to prepare some dinner for us. See you later girls. Love Mo xxx

Sallie

Sallie Report 1 Feb 2013 16:58

Mo, you are putting me to shame, our nets and windows need doing badly, but can't whip up the energy or the enthusiasm to do them. If you would like to come and stay for a few days I would be more than happy to let you do ours while you are here.lolol!!

It's good that Zoey's mum can do the physio herself and that the doctor will keep check on her progress.

Yes I'm sure you are right about Jean, Ann and myself being able to open a craft shop with all the stuff we have between the three of us. We are all addicted to card making, I think.

I must go and check on our dinner as it's in the oven....don't want to have to dish up burnt offerings.lol!!

Hope to pop back on later.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Mo, How very dare you mention spring cleaning on here, haven't done much winter cleaning so far, or summer come to think of it so mine will need to be yearly cleaning Lol!!!! Too early yet though!!

Babies are always beautiful, love their smell (well most of the time). I don't blame her Mum for taking off the permitted time.

Sally, I do envy you your local craft shop, always so much better than the larger stores. We don't really have a decent individual one although there is a small one just started. Don't think she is too well patronised though so don't know how long she will last. I know of a good one in Bridport and another in Exmouth, both a bit far to go.

I have made 3 cards this afternoon, not intricate ones like you and Jean make though, just simple ones. :-)

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 1 Feb 2013 17:51

Jean :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D It is when you don't sit making cards all day..... I think...... Not sure though the term is quite foreign to me :-S :-S ;-)

Sallie

Sallie Report 1 Feb 2013 20:38

Ann, I love your meaning of the word cleaning.lolol!!!!

Yes, we are lucky around here, as we have four craft shops in Derby, but the small shop in that market hall is by far the best one. It'a all very organised and the lady and the two young ladies that work for her are all very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Also the price of things is no more than I pay elsewhere, even the online craft sites.

Does anyone know how I can get my Emoticons back please, they disappeared a couple of weeks ago, not sure why.
