Hi Mo, it wasn't in my paper. According to the 16 year old daughter, she pays the pony's upkeep, I don't know if that is from her benefits or if she has a job. I actually felt sorry for her because she was quite upset saying her Mum is a good Mum and all the children are well fed and healthy and happy (this is the teenager speaking). I wonder if there is more money going into the house than the benefits people know (well they will guess now because of the publicity) but her partner is a lorry driver apparently. Strange I haven't seen them with any dogs.
I hope they can solve the little ones toe problems. It is not uncommon for babies to be born with a hip problem, the solution used to be to put their legs in plaster to straighten them, I don't know what they do now. I am sure they will be able to do something. Glad you enjoyed your time with her anyway.

Hello to you all, I read some of the older posts. it is good to catch up on the going's on. . Ann that is a lovely Helebore , our Helebore's flower in winter, and we call them the Winter Rose they last for months well into spring and early summer.I will have to take some Pictures of them this year and send them to you.
I see Sallie that you have lost weight , have you been exercising or have you been sick ??, I hope not.
I also have lost 4 kilo's , since giving up sugar, I am now fitting into clothes (Jeans that were very firm on me) I am now fitting into a size 10 in skirt and trousers and I have gone from a size 14 in shirts to a size 10 /12 depending on the generosity of the brand.
Mo I am sorry to hear about the problems of your newest grandchild I do hope they can help her. I am pleased to hear you are much better .
I must close as it is well after midnight and I had a big day in the garden .
<3 and hugs <3 :-) Marie <3

Cor flippin eck, both Marie and Sallie losing weight, and there's me, not shifting an ounce. Mind you sitting on my BTM all day doesn't help does it. As Jean will verify, I used to be very active, but now I just can't manage to do what I did, whilst I was working. Retirement is lovely, but in my case, it has made me very lazy. I tend to only do what I really have to do, and thats as little as possible. Marie, I wish I was a size 10/12, a size 16 can either be much to big, or just fit snuggly. As you say, a lot depends on the cut ,and the material used. The snow has been trying to lay again all day, but thank goodness it's not succeeding, but crikey is it cold. I hope you are all well, and managing with this cold weather. Sending special(((((((HUGS)))))) for our Jean, and hoping you feel better soon honey. I hope to hear from you soon. Love to all, Mo xxx

Mo, I am also losing weight, albeit very slowly. Occasionally I go up a bit due to eating too much, but it eventually comes off again. I find sizes are so variable between different brands. I can be anything from L to XXL. I think that is 18 - 24.

Huia, my trouble is I like my food to much, and am a glutton for biscuits. If I open a packet of fig rolls or garibaldi, I can't just have one or two, I have to be a pig and have three or four. But hey, I am what I am. ;-) Any way, you don't look like you are a size 18/24 to me love. Have you put anymore photo's up, for us to see on F.B Take care babe.xxx

Mo, there are a lot of photos of spinning tops, and scarves that I have panned, mostly in an arc. They are in 2 lots on FB and I would appreciate it if you could decide which 2 or 3 you like best and click on 'like' to help me to decide which 2 to enter on 4 March in the category: panning, time exposure or abstract motion. I have been asking other people too. I printed the photos today and asked a couple of women in the shop.
We have a customer (male) who always comes in 3 or 4 mins before closing time, then takes his time looking around while we wait to close up and go home. It was about 20 mins after closing time before I got away. In future our manager is going to close the doors 5 mins before time and tell customers who are in the shop that they have 5 mins to look and buy. It is not as if we are paid (apart from the manager) and I have about 26 km to get home.

Hi Mo, and everyone
Huia ............ the shop manager certainly does need to ensure that the shop closes promptly.
It rained all day and all night Sunday, and through the morning today (Monday) ................. but then it cleared up, and the sun came out.
The mountains on the other side of the harbour had had snow where we had rain .................... there was this very strong demarcation line between the green of the lower slopes, and the white of the snow above
The ski slopes on those mountains had up to 50 cm snow ............ I think we got something like 30 mm of rain
It was a physio day today (Monday) ...... OH took me down there, but then I went for my favourite lunch afterwards .........
......... Japanese ............... deep fried battered chicken drumsticks (called chicken karage), and nigiri sushi. Yummee!!
I met him in a nearby coffee shop at about 3 pm, and he brought me home.
so foot is definitely getting better!
Now have been mooching around the various Boards. My, there have been some aggressive posts, aimed at certain people on some threads. Not pleasant at all.
It's so nice to have some threads which are still pleasant, and where everyone is nice to each other!:-D :-D :-D
take care everyone

Hello girls, !!!!!! I Just don't believe it, Ann has developed a stutter, bless her, it must be as others have suggested, the cold weather affecting her fingers, giving them a repetative action. lol :-) :-) :-)
Sylvia, I bet the difference in the weather, was very noticeable to the eye. And I bet Huia would have had a field day photographing it all. Thank goodness the physio is working, or it would be no Japanese food for you my love. I have to admit to never having tried it, but would like to. I have to say that I have never fancied raw fish though. I haven't seen the aggressive posts Sylvia, mind you, I do tend to stick to our thread I have to admit. Nastiness is not neccessary is it, life is to short for goodness sake.
Our daughter in law was rushed into hospital last night. Our son took her to the emergency doctor, as she, like us, has had the virus thats been going around, but her head aches were horrendous, causing her to be violently sick. The emergency doctor sent her straight to the hospital saying she thought she may have got a bleed on her brain. As you can imagine, they could not do the CT scan till this morning, and DIL had to spend the night worrying. The result of the scan was, that she is full of phlemb, and that was what was causing the headaches and sinus problems, so they sent her home with strong anti-biotics. Now why did the emergency doctor frighten the life out of her like that, she didn't sleep for fear that she was going to die, poor girl. When I saw my doctor with the same symptoms, he told me exactly what was wrong, and prescribed the correct meds to clear it. Surely these doctors should know the difference between a brain bleed, and a heavy sinus cold. They certainly did when Roly had his bleed. Thats it, moan over now. The one good thing about it was that we got to look after little Lilly.
Hi Jean and Sallie, I bet you are fed up of me moaning....but ya loves me anyway. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Bye for now, peace and love to you all. Mo xxx

Mo, like you said, you would have thought that the doctor would have been able to tell the difference between a very bad sinus cold and ableed of the brain. I'm sure your DinL was terrified and your son must have worried himself sick all night. Anyway glad it wasn't what the doctor had fearded and that she is now at home with some strong anti-biotics to take. Hope she will soon feel a lot better.
Huia, hope that your manager will soon get the closing problem sorted. I can't understand these people that go into a shop about five to ten minutes before closing and think they have all the time in the world to browse. I am wondering, did he actually buy anything? Some I know just go into a shop to kill time while they are waiting for someone so have no intention of buying anything at all.
Sylvia, like you I have spent some time looking at the boards, and as you say, there are one or two threads where a few members are quite aggressive. Trouble is, they don't see themselves as being that way and blame the ones they are nasty to.
I'm happy just posting on this thread and Shaun's, it's nice to have some lovely friends on both the threads.
Marie, I have been on the WeightWatchers diet since last June, it's the old diet that I've been on not the one they use now. I had lost weight in the past on it so decided to use the same one.
Well done on your weight loss too. Isn't it nice to get into clothes comfortably that have been a very snug fit. I have lost about the same amount of weight as Sylvia and I have gone down two sizes. Just have to keep it going now, although over the last week or so it has been more difficult to do so.
Well, I'm going to have a cuppa now, so speak to you all soon.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello ladies, hope you are all ok and managing to stay warm. I feel like I'm living in a sick bay at the moment, have a grandaughter with measles and a very poorly cat My first attempts at crochet were a disaster, first time I ended up with 5 yards of crochet chain but couldn't turn to goback, second time, when I thought I had worked out turning and working back I ended up with a few chain stitches then a large lump, a bit like a knot, haha, really am thick, but will try again. Sorry to hear about your D-in-L Mo, bet you loved having Lilly didn't you? Going to make a cuppa now and watch the news before I go to bed. Hope there is good news for a change. Good night, God bless you all. Jean xx :-) :-) :-) <3

Hi Mo, and everyone xx
Mo ........ sorry to hear about your d-i-l ................ hope the anti-biotics are working.
Sallie ............... I'm also in a bit of a slump re losing weight!! Maybe because it is still winter, wet and miserable ............. and comfort food, with potatoes, is more attractive ;-)
I do hope no-one thought I was bringing nastiness on to here by mentioning the aggressiveness and how nice it was to have threads that were still pleasant.
I did not intend that .................. it was a congratulatory message to Mo!!
I did say something similar on another pleasant thread that I go on, and was told "they didn't want nastiness brought on to their thread"!
take care everyone

Sylvia, no you were not bringing any nastiness on to this thread at all. I just post on here and Shaun's thread where as you know there is no nastiness at all. Yes it is nice to still have threads that are still pleasant and friendly.
Yes, you are right about being in a slump after being on a diet and losing weight, with it still being winter and wanting some warming and comforting food.
How are all your family getting on? I expect your grandson is coming along in leaps and bounds now.
Jeni, hope your granddaughter will get over measles very soon and will be back to her normal self. Hate to see little ones poorly. Also hope your cat will soon be a lot better.
Keep persevering with your crocheting, I'm sure you will get the hang of it soon and then there will be no stopping you making things.
Well goodnight to everyone.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Sylvia, I feel sure that the girls and myself know that you were not bringing nastiness on this thread, we know you better than that love, so don't fret please.
Jeni, I was tickled pink when I read of your problem with the crocheting, the same thing happened to me, so know how frustrating it is. How on earth I made the pram quilt for my youngest, when I was pregnant I do not know, as now I haven't got a clue how to do it now. I hope Scarlett start to feel better soon honey, theres nothing worse than little ones being unwell, and us as either parents or grandparents not being able to make them feel better.
Well done our Sallie, on your weight loss. How are the family doing now Sallie. Is your daughter still well? How's Richards job going now, and I am trying to remember how long he has been there, but cant for the life of me recall wether it was last year, or the year before. Gosh time flies by when we get to a certain age, not that you are there yet Sallie, so wont know what it's like. ;-)
Of to my bed now girls, so good night god bless. Love Mo xxx

Apologies for the stutter. The problem was that the router threw me out as I thought. Genes was not loading. Well that is what it seemed like but obviously it was still downloading. Sorted it now. Better get off it won't let 2 of us on at once.
