Mo, at the moment Jennie is fine thank you, just hope that she continues that way for a long while. Richard is still working in the same place, I think he's been there for two and a half years now, although he likes the job itself he's not entirely happy with the company he works for. He keeps looking for oher jobs but hasn't had any lock so far.......still has he said, at least he has a job, so that's something with so many stores closing down and people losing their jobs.
How are things going with your son? I hope the company he works for have no problems and that things are going along okay for them. Hope your DiL is feeling a bit better now that she has started anti-biotics......they take a couple of days to get into the system and start to work, don't they.
Hope that all is going along okay with Zoey's physio. Have the doctor given your granddaughter any idea how long it could take to get her toes right?
Just in case I'm late getting on here tomorrow, Happy Anniversary to both you and Roly, and enjoy your day together. Have you got anything special planned?
Ann, hope it isn't has cold in Devon today has it has been ....it's been a nice bright and sunny day here although still quite cold. Went to do the weekly shopping this afternoon and it was nice not to have rush to get into A--a out of the freezing cold.
Well I am going to make a nice cup of tea now, so will speak to you all later.
Take care.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Oooh what a saucy minx our Jean is, just as well I luv her isn't it. Thank you so much for the kind wishes, and Sallie, thank you for the lovely card. We are going out for a meal tomorrow night, our second day of celebrations.
Sallie, our son is still working for the same company, and has risen to be under manager now. Not that it makes much difference, it's just a title really. Crumbs, I didn't realise that it was two over years ago that Richard lost his last job. My word how time flies by. Sorry got to go now family just turned up.

Hope you are enjoying your day Mo.
Sallie, no sun here, still thick cloud and very cold and we also had a shower lunch time, but we were in a pub eating a bowl of beef and veg stew followed by a shared sticky toffee pud and custard.

Mo, hope you and enjoy your meal out. Lovely to have the family popping in over the last two days of celebrations. Richard is now working on the credit side, he much prefers it to sales. Ideally he would like to get a job in another company doing credit control, but at the moment the all kind of job vacancies are few and far between, as we all know.
Ann, a bowl of lovely beef stew and vegetables, sounds just about right for a very cold day. It was a lovely day on Wednesday but yesterday and today we have had a very cold wind, so it looks as though we are back to winter. According to the TV weather lady, it is the first day of spring today, feels more like the first day of winter.lol!!
My brother rang me today to let me now that a family friend who I use to play with when we were children, died this morning, she was two years older than me.......so feeling a bit sad since hearing the news. She had suffered from Parkinson's Disease for a number of years and seemed to be going along alright, but eighteen months ago she was diagnosed with leukemia. She was in remission after treatment but it came came back just before Christmas. Gloria was a lovely lady, and although we didn't see each other very often we always kept in touch and never forgot each others birthdays or Christmas.
Sylvia, Jean, Marie, Huia and Jeni, hope you are all okay.
Will speak to you all tomorrow.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Sallie I am sorry to hear about your friend, always sad to lose good friends and she was a part of your past. Another link gone.
Mo hope the meal was good.
We got home about 1pm, we stopped on the way at cribbs causeway to have coffee in M&S and to get something for tonight's meal. Also bought a blouse and T bought a shirt, that is a huge Marks and has things our smaller ones don't have. Would you believe it the sun is shining, the first time we have seen it for a week. Despite the cold we did have a nice week and got out and about in the area, the only downside being the horrific cost of car parking everywhere, even in places that used to have free parking off season. And, unfortunately we were a bit too far out to get the bus. Not only far out but where we satyed was on top of a very steep hill which would be fine going down but a killer going up!!!! still it was a good break and a lovely apartment. Now, I have almost unpacked and have done one load of washing. When we are away in the car I put all my dirty clothes into a carrier bag so that they can go straight into the washing machine as soon as we get in, that gets rid of one load, then T's get done the following day.
Off to finish unpacking and putting away now.

Hello my lovelies, It's good to have you back Ann, but please don't go away again to soon lol I know there is bound to be another break soon though ;-) ;-) ;-) It's nice to be able to visit different big stores, like you did today, but the temptation to buy is sooo great where I am concerned. I have been trying not to have to buy more trousers and jumpers, but the way the weather has been, I may need to. I was hoping to be able to start buying summer clothes soon, but the likelyhood of that is looking very small. Glad you had a nice time when you were away Ann. It's nice having a bit of solitude, when we are away, but as you say, being to remote also has it's pitfalls.
Sallie, I am sorry to read about your dear old friends demise. Now you must stay strong, and live for both of you, and enjoy life, because as we all know, life is to short as it is. I just wish my daughter would realise this. It's nice to hear that Richard is enjoying his work now. Not everyone is cut out for the sales side of business. Now my son, could sell snow to an eskimo, it's just how he is. He has the gift of the gab....I wonder who he takes after for that lol How is your brother by the way? Is Alun of to a meeting with his train friends this weekend. I know he loves this pastime, as much as Roly and I enjoy our darts and yourself card making. Everyone has commented on our lovely home made cards that we received for our anniversary. They wondered what shop they had come from, and when I told them they were hand made by my friends, they were shocked and surprised, as they had been looking for a special card, and couldn't find one in the card shops.
Hi Sylvia, were you in hiding yesterday love, or I bet you were out having another Japanese meal, you lucky thing.
Well girls, I will tell you about our meal last night. We went to the Beefeater, and I ordered, half a rack of ribs, chicken, jacket potato, and side salad. After waiting for ages, it turned up, and my meal was given straight back to the waitress, as it was stone cold. I did enjoy it once I had complained, and it came back piping hot. But, everyone was complaining about how cold it was in the place, and myself and several others, ate our meal with our coats on. Not exactly ideal, especially trying to eat a rack of ribs with my fingers. We were told that the heating was playing up, and as it's such an old building, with high vaulted ceilings, what heat there was there dissappeared into thin air. We have been to this place several times before, and had a most enjoyable meal, and been warm. But last night, poor Roly was shivering in the car on our way home. The cold came from inside our bodies to the outside, and we were so glad to get back home in the warm. Oh well, here's to our 50th next year.

What a shame that your meal had the pleasure taken away by the cold. Surely the pub should be looking to solve the problem.or give a discount to compensate. We had a good lunch time meal in a beefeater last week but I have to say that place wasn't that warm either.

Hi girls,
Ann, good to hear that you both arrived home safe and sound and that you both had a lovely week apart from the very cold weather and the car parking charges. Cribbs Causeway sounds a great place, just the kind of place that I would love to go.
Mo, glad that you enjoyed yor meal once they had sorted out the problem for you. With it being so cold in the restaurant you couldn't really sit and and enjoy a nice leisurely meal which both of you had been so looking forward to.....it must have been a case of ' hurry up and eat the meal so that we can go home to get warm'. I think they should should have given you and the other diners a discount off your bills for having to sit and eat with it being so cold there.
Mo and Ann thank you both for your thoughts. It is a shame that they didn't have any children as they would have been a help and comfort to her hubby now. At least he has a sister who lives a coulpe of streets away and she has always been there for both J & G.
We went out after lunch to buy a new dishwasher, went to a few places and finally got the one we wanted in C-----'s, they are delivering it tomorrow. I shall be happy to get back to having a dishwasher again.....we were not going to bother to get another one, seeing that we are only two most of the time now, but washing dishes is the job I hate the most we decided we would get one. So now I am one happy little 'old girl'.lol!!
Mo, I didn't realise that it was Jean and Jeff's wedding anniversary tomorrow, pleased that you told us.
Happy Anniversary tomorrow Jean and Jeff, hope you both have a lovely day.
Well I must go and make a couple of cards now, so will speak to you later.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello girls, sorry I missed saying Happy Anniversary to Mo and Roly. Happy Anniversary to Jean and Jeff.
I have been very busy this week, working in the shop Monday and Wednesday, going to Hamilton on Tuesday, visiting Phil, and getting photos printed on Thurs. for our club meeting next Mon. The last couple of days I have been busy cutting some new backboards for some of the photos as I have bought different size frames - square and panorama size. Then of course I had to mount the photos, but only after I had decided which ones to use in which frames. Unfortunately some of the ones I had printed were not really the right size for any of the frames, but at least it helped me decide which photos to use. I will have to get some more frames made a slightly different size to fit more photos, or have the photos printed a different size! Anyway I will let you all know on Tuesday whether any got Honours or Highly Commended.
No sunshine here at the moment, just a light misty rain. We need heavier rain for the gardens and farms and to settle the dust on our road, and fill water tanks (mine is fine) and to prevent scrub fires. But at least it is cooler now.

Sallie, we wouldn't be without our dishwasher, if this one broke down, and if it was beyond repair, we would buy another one. Neither of us like to do the washing up, and it would probably pile up on the draing board, till we had no crockery left, and then we would toss a coin to see who did it. lol
Huia, you are such a busy bee, but you are doing things that you really enjoy. What a shame the frames were the wrong size. Which photo's did you decide to enter in the end. I bet you have put it on FB and I have missed it, will go and take a look in a minute.
Well I hope Jean and Jeff have enjoyed their day, and not got themselves all tired out, so that they can't manage to enjoy their meals out during the week. (((((((((((((HUGS FOR THEM BOTH)))))))))))))
Wheres Jeni Wren got to I wonder. I hope that young Scarlett is feeling better now Jeni.
A big hello to Sylvia and Marie, at the other end of the world.
Ann, have you finished that washing yet? I hope it was nice enough to get it out on the line and dried.
Bye for now girls. Love to all, Mo xxx

Lovely sunny day and forecast same for most of the week :-D Jeff and I want to say thank you for the lovely cards we have recieved from you all , had to look for somewhere to put them, D was 50 on the 1st and she is not one for a fuss so we didnt expect many cards for her, how wrong we were she was shocked to say the least.we always have trouble with her birthdays, "what can we get you D "always the same answer , " there is nothing I need" so we did a card and put an I.O.U. saying we would pay for her next visit to America, so that went down very well.... ;-) ;-) we are going out to lunch tomorrow, and we are taking our friend M who has just lost her oh. so it will be a nice change for all of us...and we may do some shopping.... ;-) ;-) I have been making more room in my craft place, now I can get a small craft table in so I can have my cutting machines on and that way can use them whenever I need to.....
sounds like my washer has finished next load to go in.... so see you later......
love and hugs Jean xx

Yes we've had a couple of sunny days too for a change but there was a frost last night so no need to get excited yet. Goodness is your little one nearly 3? Time does fly! :-)
