Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 Oct 2020 12:18

Lovely to know Frank is ok and will await his report tomorrow after he's been to the docs.

I think the passing of our Jane has hit us all very hard.

Anng I hope the scan results come through quickly now so T can have a bit of peace of mind as to whats going on.

Well I think the nice sunshine we've had this morning is hust about to go as there are dark grey clouds out there now.

AnninGlos Report 25 Oct 2020 12:44

We have lost so many good people to that horrible disease and other things, good friends even though we may never have met them. BC, Wendy Green, Daff, David, Sue, Sandy and Jean from the Welsh thread and now Jane. there are loads more going back over the years, too many sad to say, to add. I miss them all, but Jane was so special on this thread and we are all feeling very sad today.

Have we seen Gill lately? I don't think I have missed her.

Gillx Report 25 Oct 2020 13:10

I posted yesterday AnnG when I heard of Jane's passing, such sad news, my heart goes out to her family <3

So your OH wanted to get warm next to you AnnG, it sounds like it worked. I hope his scan results are okay and he starts feeling better soon. You've been busy in your garden, our grass is far to wet to cut, OH cut it a week or so ago and it left lots of wet bits of grass everywhere that was being trodden into the kitchen, so I doubt he'll cut it again unless we have a few days of dry weather.

It's sunny here today with a bit of cloud around so the washing is on the line. I think it rained in the night though as the ground is wet. Sandra decided to do the washing and peg it out so she's learning to do housework without having to be prompted now, which is good.

We're going to see if there are any Christmas films on this afternoon, we watched some last weekend, I was surprised they were ones we hadn't already seen, it was nice to have a few hours off housework and other jobs.

Suns out again now clouds passed and the sky is blue.

AnninGlos Report 25 Oct 2020 13:56

Sorry Gill, I missed you, I thought it strange that you had not posted about Jane.

Well, that is good isn't it, that Sandra is actually doing the washing without prompting. Sounds as if she will cope OK on her own doesn't it.

the lawn was not too long and had mostly dried out, we did have rain yesterday but not a lot just a couple of showers and only a splash on the windows just now. there is a black cloud up there though so I am glad I have finished outside for today.

Hav'nt done anything today except breakfast and lunch. Can't seem to focus on anything.

Its good Sandra does her washing without you having to tell her so she's getting there.

I think there Christmas films on at 2pm on sky movies.

Evening all,

Like you Mel I haven't been able to concentrate on much at all ,we did get the runners down after son came this morning ,he came in with the Christmas cakes he made yesterday ,first time he has had a go at making them and they looked lovely he said he would make them and I could marzipan and ice them .
He also got us a sack of potatoes, big sack for a fiver .

Hope all goes OK for you tomorrow the doctors Frank.

Gill it sounds as if Sandra is getting on OK with her household chores ,when she gets a place I take it it will be furnished but what about kitchen bits and bobs will she have to buy much ,I don't really know what is provided with the assisted living .

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 Oct 2020 19:03

Mandy thats what I have been wondering about. Will she have a washing machine or if its in a complex perhaps they have a washing room that all can use? What about a fridge?

Gillx

Gillx Report 25 Oct 2020 19:32

I think Sandra will need to buy some things for herself, but her dad and I have a few bits and bobs she can have and my mum has been buying her things along with her friend so she should be okay for the basics.

We watched a couple of Christmas films on Channel 5 this afternoon, we've seen them before but it was nice to sit and relax for a few hours. I'm finishing off the washing on the rads at the moment as it was still a bit damp when she brought it in and I'm watching the highlights of the F1 race to. Sandra is catching up with her programmes as she doesn't like the F1

Sandra cooks her own food as well and even cooked me something tonight which was nice, so she's getting there. I've noticed she's not on her phone as much as she was when she first came here so manages to fit in the jobs she wants to do as well now. When she first arrived here I was doing everything for her but her Social Worker asked me to let her do it for herself, she was a bit reluctant at first but has realised that she needs to do things for herself as there won't be anyone around to do it for her when she moves. Like I said she's starting to think for herself now which is a massive improvement, so I think she'll be okay. She knows when she moves if she needs us we're only a phone call away and she has lots of other family members and friends she can ask for help if OH is in work and we can't get to her straight away.

Good morning all, it looks like a spring morning out there, pale blue sky and whispy clouds, sunshine but only 7 degrees. Our rambling white rose is once again full of flowers, a lovely sight to see. OH cam into my bed and dozes for half an hour at 0700 but then went back to his bed and is resting there. I think we are both nervous about the result of the head scan thinking there is so much constant pain it must be something nasty. Well we just have to wait until between 4 and 6 to know, we shall face it when we know. Until then, hope everyone had a good night, mine was mixed slept quite well but woke too early.

Gill I am sure that Sandra will have a fantastic life once she gets her own place. She is learning well, it will be a load off your mind as well that she can look after herself, then you can concentrate on you and your OH.

I had one very short date that Tesco had picked up, it was fish, delivery lad asked me what I wanted to do, it had onle one day. I said, no I didn't want it so he said he would refund the money. But then he also said I could keep the fish, so it is in the freezer! And the money was refunded this morning.

Morning AnnG and all

It’s a pity you have to wait all day for OH’s call about the scan. It’s bound to be on your mind. Try and keep yourself occupied. I have everything crossed for T.

At the moment it’s sunny and bright and about 7 degrees. It makes a change from waking up to another grey, wet day. OH has gone out for his walk and I am sitting up in bed with a nice cup of tea, trying to motivate myself to get up. All I’ve got planned today is the washing. I wish I could get out for a bit of fresh air and exercise. OH has offered to take me for a drive so I’ll see what we both feel like later..

Enjoy your day everyone. Might bbl

Morning Anng, Vera and all,

We too have a nice sunny morning with blue sky and white clouds but what it will do later I haveno idea.

Hope you don't have to wait too long for the results of T's scan and that it good news. Its horrid when you are waiting for something he must be on tenter hooks all the time which won't help with the head.

Must get the washing on the line and may be able to get another lot in.

Must also order our scripts. Dos'nt it come around quickly and thats another month nearly over.

Still got my back ache but its not as bad as it was when it first happened.

Mandy you snuck in while I was typing.

I forgot to wish EOS a happy and healthy week, take care. <3

Annx Report 26 Oct 2020 09:48

Morning All,

Thank you EOS, I hope you have a good week too.

Looks dull out there and I don't feel as if I've gained an extra hour! I was thinking about Jane a lot yesterday. It is a real loss to be without her now. I shall miss our annual meet up and lunch together. I envy how she would get things organised and done while I tend to procrastinate and think I' ll do them tomorrow. Maybe l will try harder in her memory! Like AnnG says, we lose good friends we have never seen, but they still make an impact on our lives and are missed.

AnnG I can understand the worry about your OH's head scan but hope he would have heard by now if they needed to do something quickly. Maybe his being unable to swallow much food is due to underlying worry and stress. There have been stressful times in my life when I've had a feeling of a lump in my throat through worry and not wanted food or felt I could swallow much. Not long to wait now. Your white Roses sound lovely.

That's good Sandra is thinking for herself and learning to do things Gill. It is a big change for her after all these years, but it will take a weight off your mind knowing she can mostly manage to look after herself in the future. How nice she is enjoying her Christmas films again, just like old times!

Mandy well done your son for making the Christmas cakes! I used to enjoy the decorating bit best myself! Lol. Are the children decorating their own? I still think about Lewis and the bin lorry when I think of cakes!

Vera we said yesterday that we need a run out to Rutland to give us a break from the routine at home so I'm with you there. I will take my camera as some of the villages have some pretty ochre coloured churches.

We had the food drop yesterday and l had 9 substitutes and 3 out of stock. So now we have 3 chilled dauphinoise potato trays to be eaten quickly and 2 large beef lasagnes and I dislike beef. No cauli cheese or broccoli bake so it's good I got plenty of fresh and frozen vegetables.

I hope Frank is ok and that the doc's phone call is early. Is it to see how you are and how you are doing on the new meds.

Better get moving and showered now and then empty half the crammed fridge to see what to eat with some of those dauphinoise potatoes!

Frank

Frank Report 26 Oct 2020 10:30

Good morning to you all,

EMPTY left arm,She only took TWO FILES, normally it's THREE. Had my ECG also. I have to ring at the end of the week, if I need to get results. But they will ring me if anything shows up.

Not well again today, even though I managed a good nights sleep. I have these horrible crawling feelings in my upper body again, and I have the shakes. Couldn't manage to see a Doctor this morning, so will see how things go.

I have a meeting at the Daventry Hospital next week, with a MENTAL HEALTH TEAM. It seems there is something going on in my brain, that they need to try to sort out. Hopefully it will stop all this shaking and horrible feelings.

Sorry that I am not very good company lately. but until I can get myself sorted, I am not good company for anyone.

I hope you, and yours are keeping well, will try to get back late or tomorrow. TAKE CARE. xxxx

Well it was a lovely morning so I decided to take a charity bag down to the lady who does all sorts of charities and also the book stall. It was suddenly overcast as I set off but was ok on the way there, however on the way back it chucked it down so a good job I had on a good wet weather coat. Ought to change my jeans though I suppose. they are still a bit damp.

Mandy yes It will be a long day, then I hate waiting for the phone to ring and making sure OH has not retreated to bed as I can't hear whoever is on the phone.

Anyway he watched a bit of gardeners world while I was down the road but had gone to lie down to ease his back now. first thing this morning I started to sort away T shirts and get out sweaters, ought to do the other cupboard now. I did take a few short sleeve sweaters to the charity as I never wear them it is either T shirts or long sleeved sweaters.

Annx Yes you will miss your Christmas meet up this year (did you actually go last year I can't remember although you may nnot have because of the two hip operations recovering.
Yes our thoughts were that they would have been in touch if it was anything urgent. Then my brain (which I kept to myself) also thought, say it is too late to do anything and that is why there is no rush! Half full glass or half empty.

Can you tick your list to say no subs on an item. I have ticked quite a few things on my list. You do seem to have had quite a lot of subs lately.

Frank, that is the tests over and now the wait for results. I expect time is dragging to your hospital appointment as well. Sorry you are not so good but even if you just say 'hello, goodbye' do drop in so we know you are more or less OK.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Oct 2020 11:24

Yes I agree with Anng Frank we just like to know your around even if you don't feel like posting just a note will do.

I have just been up the hsop for a loaf and someone came in and said that a person in a close in the village has corvid!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and that he got near to soemone in the fish and chip que. I was up there last week but stayed away from everyone where I could but people round here don't seemm to take much notice of social distancing. Three children right at the shop door probably all from one family and all had masks on but there are only two aloud in the shop at a time and when peole come out they walk right past you close. I try not to get near everyone but you have to walk past the other person in the shop as the isles are very narrow.
