Good morning all, very dull so far. Had to get going early this morning as OH has a physio appointment at 10.45. (yes it takes that long for him to get going!) This is a practice as this time next week we should be on the way to the hospital for his scan.
Mandy I noticed the price of caulis was going up in the supermarket. The taste of things to come I think.

Morning Anng and all,
We have sunshine blue sky and a little tin white cloud. Not much wind as the trees are'nt moving .
Oh is checking the heating at the mo as he thinks its not turning itself off.
Must do some washing today as the bins full and with all the rain and wind I hav'nt done any. We hav'nt had the heating on so it all got built up in the bin as I was'nt having that hanging around for days.

Hope you all slept well and that aches and pains are easing.
Anng Is your swelling still going down? and how are the new glasses?
I hope this is'nt the day Frak comes home as its looking to be the best day of the week at the moment but if they are coming home today it will be better for Ros driving in decent weather.

Our numbers are very low at the moment with no Gill, Frank or Jane.
Jane, thinking of you and hoping you are able to enjoy time with Hannah. I bet she is getting excited (and big) now. Have you bought lots of baby stuff on line?
Gill hope you can get Sandra sorted, if and when she moves out you won't know what to do with your time. Is she enjoying being home with you?
Frank, We don't seem to know when to expect you back so whenever if is, have a safe journey.
OH had a good trip to the Physiotherapist this morning, she told him she is sure that his back is nothing to worry about, the pain is caused by (and I was not there but had to work it out from his explanation) tightened muscles. She did some manipulation and he certainly felt better when we got home. He has another appointment next week, unfortunately the same day as his scan, so scan 0900 and physio 14.30). He was more impressed with her than he was with the osteopath. I went with him to help locate the place and I sat in the car and read while he was in there.
Shepherds pie this evening, strange having to make a really small one but OH loves it so it is a good thing to do.

I'm here too Mel but not having a good day so won't be on for long.
It's been dry here all day and this afternoon the sun has come out. I feel I should be out there making the most of it but won't be doing so today as I think I overdid it yesterday.
My foot is getting better all the time though it still has a little way to go. So yesterday I stood and did the ironing and a few other jobs. After lunch I sat on a garden kneeler/stool, cleared some more dying annuals and planted up two troughs and a big pot with wallflowers. I still have plenty left to find a home for. I don't have room for a proper seedbed so I sowed the seeds in small containers. Although I thinned them out there were still too many fighting for space so they had grown a bit leggy but I've pinched out the tops and I am sure they will bush out.
As I finished that job Tesco arrived and I had a big order yesterday. I stood and wiped the lot down and put it all away without any sort of break. Only one sub and that was just for a different pot of jam so that was OK. I had got a pack of 12 cumberland chipolatas as OH likes them and I did well there - the pack contained 13 lol.
By the time I went to bed my back was really giving me gip so I couldn't get comfortable, couldn't sleep and eventually developed a really sick headache. OH brought me a cup of tea at 8 am and I then slept till 11 am but I have been a bit like a wet weekend today. My back is easier but I am having to be very careful but I still have the head pain over one eye and I feel like someone has punched me around the head.
I'm glad the physio went well AnnG and it's good that the therapist doesn't think it's too serious. It must be very uncomfortable for T but at least that news might perk him up a bit. My OH got on well with the physio but won't go near an osteopath again.
Mel, our market wasn't closed for long at all. It's usually on a Thursday and Saturday. What our local council did was open the market on a Friday as well and allow some stalls to come on one day and others on another day so they could space them out much more. I must admit I haven't shopped in the market since March as when we have driven past on market day it has always seemed a bit too busy still for my comfort.
£1.90 is a lot for a cauliflower Mandy but I see Tesco's large ones are that price. I had a smaller one in my order yesterday and that was 82p. It will do the two of us and at a pinch would maybe do a third person, but it wasn't very big. I went to wipe down a pack of cheese yesterday and thought it didn't look as though it fitted in the packet as well as usual, so I checked and found it was 220 g. I am sure it used to be 250 g so it's another crafty price rise.
I hope you have a safe journey home Frank, whenever you're travelling.
I am going to get a sandwich now I think as I've only had some cereal today and now feel peckish and then I'm closing the computer before I make my head and eyes worse. I hope you all have a good night tonight.

I am glad there are you two about Anng and Vera.
Vera hope you have a good night tonight.
Its good T got on ok with the physio today and did you say he is seeing her next week to o.
My back has'nt eased off at all today but I did manage some ironing of todays washing which was just right for the iron, nice and damp. Its now all on the airer in the uti room.
Don't dancy fish and chips tonight and neither of us are bothered so I shall find something quick and light.
Been miserable here all afternoon after a lovely sunny morning. The winds dropped and its raining.
Love to Jane <3

Just had cottage pie for our meal. Does anyone else find as soon as they finish one meal they are thinking what to have for the next?

Morning All,
Slept well last night again and was up early this morning as OH is attending an online council hearing he will need to speak at for one of the complaints cases he has had dealings with. He is looking very smart I must say.
Yes I'm the same with meals AnnG! Things often need a 24 hour defrost so you have to think ahead don't you! It means your head is full of meal planning though which I hate. Easy for me today though as I prepared chicken in some of the tomato sauce with peppers, courgette, carrot, mushrooms and onion yesterday to have with rice. My photography session doesn't finish till 12.30pm so lunch will be quick to heat up after that. It sounds promising what the physio said about your OH's back so fingers crossed she is right. I expect you will be glad to get those stitches out tomorrow. It the wound getting itchy now?
Better leave those borders today Mel and let your back recover. Mind you I think more rain is forecast for most of us so we won't be in the garden.
Oh Vera you did do a lot in the garden didn't you. I used to find bright sunshine would seem to trigger my migraines sometimes and I always wear a hat in bright sunshine now. I hope your headache doesn't become one, they are so debilitating. Good that your foot is getting gradually better though.
That was expensive for a cauli Mandy. I would have left it too! Your runners have lasted well........I wish ours had! Ours were on a bit of a slope so the watering just mostly ran off which didn't help. We have a big black plastic round tub we used as a small pond in the past and we are going to put drainage holes in it and try some in that next year. (I may have already said that before?) We can make it level and the watering will be more effective. We are still picking courgettes although the old foliage is covered in mildew now.
Better get sorted for the photography class now and move my painting stuff to make room for my notepad and camera.

Went to bed with a bad back and got up this morning not too bad and then I went to the loo and now I can hardly move. Got my space jacket out last night and sat with it plugged in all evening. Wet wndy and some sunshine now and then.
I think T may have passed this bad back to me. How's he feeling this morning Anng and did you sleep well last night? stitches out tomorrow and I am shore you will be glad of that. Has the swelling gone down now?
Ann I hav'nt been up the border for weeks now. The last gardening I did was behind the shed clearing out the trees etc.

Just like the BAD PENNY, I am back and fighting fit. (I WISH).
We Left Paignton at 2.00pm yesterday and arrived home at 6.00pm after stopping to pick up F & C from Towcester. Had a wonderful journey home, with little traffic and DRY ROADS.
On the way down the Engine Management light came up on the dash. Eos took things easy and when we came of the Main road togo to Torquay we had to go up a very steep hill called TELEGRAPH HILL. My did the old girl (The Car, not Ros) struggle to get up it. Anyway we got to Jan's safe and sound. The following morning we rang the RAC. and the chap who came was so helpful. He detected that the distributor Cap was cracked, and the SPARK PLUGS weren't functioning properly. He kindly booked the car in to a Company for Wednesday AM. Jan and Ros went off to the Garage AM yesterday, and Ros asked if they could treat it AS URGENT, as we had to drive back to Northampton. When Ros and Jan came back. Ros packed the case, and got everything ready for when the Garge rang. So when they collected the car, we loaded up and set off.
While away, I had quite a few "NASTY TURNS" Jan arranged an appointment with her Doctor, who examined me , and disgust my medication. There are two tablets, (to his mind) that were not compatible and he said I should get them reviewed by my Doctors. Jan arranged for my GP to ring me Friday to do that. She has been such a GREAT HELP.
Anyway we did absolutely nothing while we were away, apart from taking Jan, Jo and Ella out to a Sunday Carvery. I only had a small starter, and have eaten very little while being away.
Ros was going to take neighbours across the road to the funeral today, but they have come across this morning, to say, they don't want to go.
We have had rain here since I got up, and the sky is as "BLACK AS THUNDER" So it looks like the forecast was right for today.
I trust you are all well, and hope you have missed me. xxxxx

Yes we have missed you Frank and am glad you had a lovely time. Good you had the car sorted out before the journey home and am glad to know you're both safe and sound. I hope your problem is the two pills that are not compatable. Oh had that trouble a few years ago he was on a too higher dosage of one of his pills and that was making him dizzy etc.

I don't know why but I do feel that doctors should check what medication people are already on and check it against any new. They have a book with it in (or used to have) I suppose we should ask the pharmacist to check when we collect new medication as well. But I also wonder if it will tell you that Frank if you read the enclosed leaflet. I always read leaflets inside with pills just in case. However it may be that it doesn't say on your Fran. Glad you had a good brek anyway and are home safely.
OH didn't sleep badly but woke up with a really bad back, I said it was probably from the Physio. We now have a hot water bottle as the heat pad wasn't holding the heat long enough. Physio suggested heat three or four times a day. and also gave him a really gentle exercise to do. What is making us laugh at the moment (could be embarrassing) because he has lost a lot of weight his trousers fall down.
My scar is not itching Annx and actually unless I accidentally touch it I forget it is there. face is still a bit swollen though and bruised.
I have managed to arrange my annual blood test for when I have the stitches out. Well that is if there is time. (they said).

I had to laugh at poor T losing weight so his trousers fall down Anng. You'll have to get him some braces as they could help with an embarrasing incident.
Oh and I were talking about those little canvas huts the GPO used to put up to work under. Do you remember them? They always reminded me of the top of a small covered wagon. Also when the GPO had dark green vans same colour as the boxes in the street are now they fiddle around with.

The weather hasn’t been up to much again today; on and off rain, a bit breezy and an occasional glimpse of a blue sky.
I’m pleased you got home safely Frank but what a to do you had with the car. I hope your problems are due to your tablets as that might be fairly easy to put right. Like AnnG I always read the leaflet with the tablets. Some years ago I bought some Kalms at a chemist’s shop and asked the pharmacist if they were OK to take with my medication. He assured me they were fine. Luckily I read the leaflet when I got home and it said they shouldn’t be taken with various tablets, one of which was mine. I took them back and told the pharmacist and he said that he had no idea why that was the case. I later asked the doctor and she told me that both tablets lowered blood pressure which could be dangerous for someone like me who doesn’t have high blood pressure. It’s a bit worrying really as we can only be guided by the “experts” but they don’t always get it right. Anyway, fingers crossed your doctor can sort you out tomorrow Frank.
Take care of that back Mel. You will have to let all the jobs go hang and just rest up for a few days.
You do keep busy with all the online courses you do Ann, you put me to shame and make me feel very lazy. I don’t seem to do anything very much.
I was beginning to feel a bit stir crazy and as I felt I could walk around OK we went out to a garden centre. I wanted to get some big new pots but I wanted terracotta rather than plastic and some of them are so expensive. We found some going half price and managed to find two the right size so bought those for £25 each and we also bought one of those chrysanthemums with masses of small blooms. That’s for a friend’s birthday next week. We also got a smaller terracotta pot and will pot it up in that for her so it looks more of a gift. I even treated myself to a new tea cosy :-D. I enjoyed the trip out but my foot knows it’s been walking.
As you ladies say, everything revolves around food at the moment so I had better start cooking the next meal. It’s cottage pie tonight and I’ll cook up double the amount of mince and freeze half of it so it’s ready to turn into a meal another day.
I hope you all sleep well tonight.

Evening all,
Shopping day for us so i've been wiping down ,we have finally got got our new light ,i went into Screw fix ,nice and quiet in there plenty of sanitiser and ladies to help behind screens ,the first one we ordered on line and when i picked it up there there was no wire with it so i changed it for one that has wire ,while i was in there there was this loud noise and the young lady said ohhh look round i turned and couldn't see across the car park for rain ,it was like looking through a fog but didn't last long so i didn't get wet .
Nice to see you back safe and sound Frank ,thank goodness the car got you there and you managed to get it sorted . I hope the doctors call can sort out your tablets for you so you can feel more yourself . Any news on your mobility scooter ?
Mel hope your back is feeling a little better now ,my back was a bit twingy yesterday ,i had lifted the garden chairs into the garden box where we store them for the winter and they are quite heavy chairs to lift about ,i thought i would have felt it this morning but after a good nights sleep it's been ok.
Oh AnnG we can't have T loosing his trousers :-) not good when he can't bend because of his bad back ,i hope the braces help .
Ann i thought the cauli was expensive ,i got a lovely big one from Aldi today for 69p , yes we've done so well this year with the runners ,i had some in the garden and a few in a big pot and they have been good too ,i picked some of the dried pods yesterday for seed next year .
Vera you did well to get the terracotta pots for half price ,when i see all the pots that Monty has on gardeners world i think he must have spent a fortune on them he has so many .
Love to Jane <3 <3
