Glad the scan went OK Frank, can't remember where they were scanning. Be nice to get away so hope you have some dry spells to get to see the sea.
Mel Loved the photos thanks
Island, oh, a shame about the dizzy being eye strain. Are your ears ok though? If not could be them not eyes. Stil see what a rest will do.
OH actually decided to drive himself to the Osteopath and managed fine. He is tired now and just now twisted awkwardly (there is always something) so is in pain from that so gone for a lie down. Osteopath suggested that he had a phone call from the doc and asked why they were doing a scan and not a MRI which he thought would be better. so he will have to do that later. I have kept myself busy preparing a meal for tonight (not that I have much enthusiasm for that as I know only a mouthful will get eaten). And doing the monthly accounts which all balanced eventually. Just marking time now, will have lunch in a bit before going for the bus to the hospital.

I just love your little dog in his carrier Island and the chair is coming along fine. Love the colours. I wondered what you meant when you said you were making the webbing and now I know. It looks really great. We always do what we can for our little pets don't we? <3 <3 <3

Home now, strange I had the same taxi driver as we had the other week but it was a pound more because of getting held up in school traffic.
It never is as bad as I expect but this time was really exceptional. When you get a booking it is usually for Doctor Porter or one of his team. I have been going to his clinic now for over 15 years and only saw him the first time I went when he came to give a second opinion with the first ones I had done (those were the only ones I have had done by general Anaesthetic. Since then I have always had 'one of his team'. He was really good, explained the two possible ways of doing it, one which would need a much larger incision. He had two nurses assisting and they were both very professional, friendly and lovely. the worst bit is the injections all round the face around the site but one of the nurses was holding her hand on my arm and telling me how long it would be and asking if I was OK, any problems etc. The other one seemed to be the junior who did the mopping up etc. A sheet of blue paper with a hole in it was over my face and eyes but the suggestion was to keep my eyes shut. I really only felt pressure and was only aware of what was happening because I had had it done before. After he had finished (half an hour) senior nurse suggested I relax in the small waiting room outside (not the main waiting area and they would get me a cup of tea which was really drinkable. Then I walked down to the reception desk and a nice volunteer phoned for a taxi for me. Just had to wait ten minutes.
Good to get it over though. when I got in I managed to get OH to listen to half of the above before he told me how he had jarred his back on the last stair, he couldn't get comfortable and he'd had two biscuits, a banana and a piece of cheese.
He was not impressed when I told him for 24 hours I must not bend my head forward so he is going to have to try and get his socks on himself.
Can't remember if I told you that his scan is 13 October.
Island what a sweet little face you dog has, he is lovely and he was somethin I enjoyed looking at and reading about while waiting to go in for surgery. Love the colours in the new chair seat. Like Mel I wondered how you were going to do it, it looks as though it will be better than new.

Evening All,
Sunny here today and not the forecast rain so I could have done some washing. :-S
It seems to have been quite a medical day! Glad your op is done now AnnG and that they were so nice to you. I think we all need a bit of kindness now. :-) Sorry to hear T has jarred/twisted his back and I hope it doesn't set him back too much. That sounded sensible what the osteopath said about ringing his doctor. When I lived on my own and had a bad back I couldn't bend to put my socks on so would perch sideways on the bed with my knee bent and laying at right angles across the bed. That way I could manage to get my socks on. Otherwise you may be able to do it for him while he is laying in bed. Tell him he's lucky he doesn't wear tights like us ladies do at times! I remember having to give up on those for a while when my back was bad and I lived on my own.
Frank I bet you are glad the scan showed nothing serious. Did they just say t was harmless and to leave it? The lightweight mobility scooter sounds ideal and would be much easier to lift in and out of the boot. I hope you will get some help to get one of those! I hope you have a good journey and that the forecast is a bit better there than here.
Lovely cheery rainbow Mel. :-D I wonder what Our primitive ancestors thought they were? Did you get your delivery in the end today?
My head spinning from another zoom session on my camera and I have homework! I did learn where another setting is on my camera though, so that was good. :-) We both seem to feel very tired this week, despite sleeping well and we have eaten healthy meals too so it isn't that. So apart from doing the crosswords etc we have just been on our computers! Well OH had a council zoom meeting tonight.
I love what you are doing with your seat Island and was puzzled about the webbing till I saw it. You have a sweet little dog!
Off to bed now to watch the last episode of The Doctor Harold Shipman series. I can't imagine what he got from murdering all those patients!!

Good morning all. a really horrible wet morning here, most unpleasant. Apparently we had role reversal here last night. OH slept well, I had a really bad night. I was told not to lie down low but to use and extra pillow (and I can;t bend forward with head down for a couple of days), I also can't sleep with the side that was operated on face down. Unfortunately that is the side I usually sleep on as my bad arm is the other side so I just could not get my arm comfortable.
Annx trouble with putting his socks on like you say is that his back won't let him lie on his side with his knees up, I do usually try when he is lying down but even that hurts him. He has now got a 'grabber' so may be able to mange himself with that. That is what son in law used after his hip was done.

Morning All,
Just overcast here and the wind hasn't reached us yet but we are due wind and rain later.
I hope your face isn' t too sore this morning AnnG and that the new medication soon helps your OH.
Yes the weeks are flying by aren't they Mel. I must ask OH to come up with some ideas of what he would like for Christmas as they think there will be far more ordered on line this year. I want to get some extra lights this year too. I like the sound of your autumn garland and look forward to seeing a pic.
We have a trip out to take our scripts to the surgery today and if it stays fine long enough I might take my camera to get some shots for my homework!

Morning all
Wet here again with a bit of a breeze but it’s not too windy yet. We had a brief respite yesterday afternoon when it was actually dry for a few hours. It didn’t last long though. When my two were at primary school they used to sing a song and the chorus was “It’s raining, it’s raining again”. That’s been going round my head all morning.
Lovely rainbow pics Mel. A rainbow always seems a bit special even though it’s really just another weather phenomenon. In Madeira some years ago we found ourselves up high looking down into a gully and there was a rainbow below us. It was a very odd feeling. I am sure OH took some photos. I must see if I can find them.
I love what you are doing with the chair Island. It’s going to look very good when it’s finished. You are very talented. I hope you are not still getting the dizzy spells.
Frank, it’s good news that the scan didn’t show anything frightening. Enjoy your trip to Devon. You might need your winter woolies and your sou’wester, lol.
Sorry to hear you had a bad night AnnG. I hope you aren’t too sore this morning. You need to take care of yourself as well as looking after OH. Are the Naproxen having any effect yet?
I hope the weather holds off long enough for you to get a few photos Ann. Enjoy your visit to the surgery. It’s sad isn’t it when we consider that a trip out ;-). I have a trip to the surgery tomorrow for a flu jab and I am getting quite excited about booking an appointment to go to the tip! I think Frank is doing pretty well with meals out and trips to Devon. I wish I felt as confident.
We do have a little treat this afternoon. We have been invited for tea and cake with the couple we were meeting up with for a Sunday morning stroll. It’s the husband’s birthday. I’m happy to go as there will only be them and us and room to distance a bit and I know how careful they have been.
I said we had a little break in the weather yesterday afternoon. I had to make the most of it so I sat outside on the “chariot” and cleared three troughs and a large pot of busy lizzies and begonias that had gone over and also took off the last few green tomatoes and cut the plants down. I’ve just left a few inches of stem to grab hold off to pull the plant roots out of the pots. I couldn’t manage that sitting down so OH will do that for me.
Love to Jane, as always <3
Well, it was morning when I started but I should now be saying Good Afternoon. I’d better go and have a look in the fridge to sort something for lunch. Take care everyone.

Its blowing a hooley here Ann. I have been trying to find something for oh for Christmas too. I have a couple of small bits but nothing like I had last year. I love my lights and have loads of them. I used to get lots of bits in Lidl but not going there all year I have nothing put away. I usually buy things all theough the year but not this year.
Its really cold here and oh says it going to get worse over the weekend.
When is Frank thinking of coming down?
Love to Jane as always and giving you a ~~~~~~~ and gentle hug. <3 <3 <3

Still dark and wet out there.
Well re the new drugs. OH stopped taking the ant- inflamatory drugs Nurofen Plus as well as Co codomol because they gave him bad stomache pains (really bad). Then he took the two new drugs Naproxen and Omep*** and has had the same reaction. In the time between the pains disappeared. So guess what he has stopped those too. Last evening he had a reasonable meal and took paracetamol before bed and again 4 hours later. They seem to help withough causing problems. For breakfast he had two weetabix plus a banana and semi skimmed milk (we usually only have skimmed, and he enjoyed that. Now gearing up to encourage him to have some lunch. He also had coffee and a choc biscuit at 11.30. Playing it by ear now. :-) My face is sore and you don't realise how many times you bend your head down when doing things. And I am very tired and not doing a lot.

Anng get him to take the Omep as they will help his tum but he must take them first thing in the morning. He needs to get them in his system and they won't hurt him.
I see Asda is up for sale. Wonder if it will upset the shopping?
Still very windy here.
Where's Frank??????????? and when is he going to Devon?
Hope Gill is ok and sending love. <3 <3

Well all I can say is that if T wants to put up with all the pain and won't take his prescriptions then he has only got himself to blame and he's acting like a child not a responsable adult of 82. :-| He should be thinking of how he can help you!

Evening all,
Raining here now but it has been dry with quite a breeze and the sun tried to peep through a few times this morning .
AnnG hopefully you'll be able to get a bit more sleep tonight than you had last night ,i hope the face is not to uncomfortable for you ,can you take some pain killers . Oh silly OH he hasn't really given the new tablets a chance to get into his system has he ,what a shame as i'm sure the Omep would calm his tummy ,Colin takes them and they help him .
Frank hasn't had a very good day for traveling ,i hope Ros managed to drive all that way ok as its a while since she's done it as they were picked up last time .
Mel that was a lovely double rainbow you manged to get a photo of and the lawns look really good with the stripes .
We've had quite a lazy day really ,yesterday we did sort out two more kitchen units ,tomorrow should be a wet day so we might do some more . This morning when i got the boxes of cereals out for breakfast i thought we ought to do this one really and i got down to look to see what was in there behind the cereal boxes and spotted three jars ,one was sliced beetroot ,one some sort of chutney and the other was red cabbage ,all from last year ,they all went out as the beetroot was a funny old colour so was the red cabbage and i didn't fancy the chutney ,who knows what other treasures we'll find :-D
Love to Jane <3 <3
