Something I have just learned for those with Iphone or Ipad. If you hold the space bar down and move it to left or right, it moves the cursor. The number of times I have typed a word wrong and had to delete the whole word and start again. Just seen this on face book.

Evening all When does afternoon become evening; I’m never sure.
If you are looking in Island I hope you have a lovely break and the weather is kind to you. I think it’s been a bit warmer here today but we’ve again had rain on and off all day.
I hope you are enjoying your break as well Frank. It would be good to hear that you are OK but maybe you didn’t take your laptop with you.
Did you get your new glasses AnnG? Will you have to get them refitted when your swelling has completely gone. I had a reminder today that my eye test is due. I used to have to have an annual test but last time he said 18 months would be OK, but I couldn’t believe it was 18 months since I was shelling out another £700. I thought they must have got it wrong but when I checked it was 18 months ago. I had to laugh at the wording of the letter: “Great news Vera, it’s time to book your next eye test”. I’ve never thought of booking an eye test as a great event. Thanks for the iPad/iPhone hint. I’ll try that out.
I don’t suppose you know whether you’re coming or going at the moment Gill. There must be a lot of paperwork to get done with all the changes recently. Mind you don’t exhaust yourself – get Sandra to help you with jobs. Could she manage her own washing as a start? It will be good practice for when she is able to live semi-independently.
If you have lived in the same area all your life Mandy you must have seen a lot of changes. I was born in London during the war and at some point we moved to Oxfordshire for the duration. I can’t remember that as I was too young. My mother and I moved into a ground floor rented flat in London at the end of the war before my father was demobbed and later my Dad bought the whole house, which was just 2 flats. I had a bedroom in the upstairs flat and my Dad put in a bathroom there and my grandmother moved in to take the rest of the flat. I lived there till I married but since then OH and I have had 2 rented flats, a terraced house, a detached house and 2 detached chalet bungalows. Most of our moves have been because of OH’s job and we’ve gradually moved further north, from South London to North London to Romford, then near to Chelmsford, then Suffolk and then just 6 miles further on to where we live now.
Just noticed the time. I promised to ring my brother at 5.30 pm so had better do that now. Be back tomorrow probably.

Evening all,
We had a little rain first thing then out came the sun so out we went and got the green house down ,moved a few pots about and had a good sweep up ,I also hung some washing out and got it dry .
Oh Vera I love little Olive :-D it's nice she has the other two dogs it will help her settle in better ,I bet she will get spoilt bless her.
Gill it sounds as if you've had a busy time lately getting things sorted for Sandra . Hope you can get your boiler fixed before the weather turns colder.
AnnG hope you've now got your new glasses and they fit ok, i expect it was a bit awkward to know if the fit is OK with your face all swollen.

Good morning all, sunny with light cloud here at the moment so a nice start to the day. First time we have not put our garden bin out, what with OH being out of action and the rain things have not been done that should have been done.
Everyone seems to be late starters these days must be the thought of winter keeping us all in bed.
New glasses were fitted Vera and Mandy, but are not as comfortable as they should be. And that is down to the swelling and stitches which make all my glasses a bit crooked. So I will have to go back if they are not right when it goes back to normal (well normal for me). OH just pointed out my face is yellow that side, All the bruising is coming out where he pressed down on my cheek. As it happens the lady who fitted my glasses had an almost identical op some time ago so she knew exactly what the problem was and we were able to compare notes. hers was a bit worse than mine though as whatever was removed was near the inner corner of her eye.
Not sure what is in store for us today, we tend to play it by ear but I will probably get down to making some cards, not made any for a few days now.

Hallo all
A bit of a changeable day, blue skies and grey, but not raining yet.
I hope your face feels more comfortable soon AnnG. Is T feeling any easier? I know what you mean about the garden. What with the weather and my bad foot ours has been a bit neglected and looks in need of some tlc. At the moment it needs a good sweep as it is full of leaves that have blown in. Your garden always looks nice and colourful in your photos. I have some clumps of deep purple asters that look great and some sedum that’s looking good. My rudbeckia, like yours, has been good this year too.
I hope your shopping has turned up by now Mel and your wiping down is nearly done. I’ve got my delivery this afternoon. I have mine once a fortnight but it seems to come round very quickly though I think I’m getting better at the wiping down. It doesn’t take me nearly as long as it used to. I keep saying I am going to stop doing it but then I get a bit nervous and think I’ll just do it this time and stop next time.
I hope Jane is comfortable and able to spend some time with Hannah. Just think, only another couple of months and she will have a new grandson to love. I bet she can’t wait. Sending love as always <3
If you are looking in EOS I hope you are having a good week. Stay safe.
Lunch in a minute, then if it still isn’t raining I might try to do a couple of garden jobs before Tesco come. I still can't stand and garden or kneel down with this dodgy foot but I can manage some things sitting on a stool. It’s looking grey and windy now so with my luck it will be pouring soon.

All arrived and its ll wiped down. My back is still bad this morning on the right hand side and dos'nt seem to be easing up.
Suns been out here and we,ve had another rainbow but its still cloudy in parts and rains every now and then.
Just going to have a COC before lunch and then I may get back to the wreath I am making.
Sending love to Jane and wishes to EOS. <3
If Frank has this weather where he is it will be better for him to have a walk along the front if he dos'nt get blown away. That onshore wind can cut you through like a knife and makes your cheeks burn.

Afternoon All,
slept well last night after a bad night the night before, but still lay in till it was time to get lunch!
Glad they remembered you this time Mel and that you are wiped down and put away. I keep meaning to ask you if you have tried Asda's chicken crown for 2 with sage gravy? I haven't, but am ordering some for my next delivery to try. We love the individual lamb shanks in mint gravy.....falls off the bone.
Hope your wipe down goes well Vera. I keep wondering whether to ease off with more of the wiping, but then think I might be tempting fate. I am still just doing the freezer and fridge food and leaving the rest untouched in a laundry basket for 3 days. Still not sure, yet anyone eating out doesn't sanitise their cutlery or dishes do they despite the staff touching them? Is your brother well now and did you have a nice chat? Whatever must they have done in times of the Plague with no internet, cars or phones. At least we can keep in touch these days. Your current gardening is much like mine with my knees. I use an old crate standing lengthways to perch on. Hopefully your foot will continue to be a little better each day now.
OH picked the rest of the toms today (2 bowls) and disposed of the plants and I have just cooked a panful ready to blitz into a sauce.
I panicked today when I was filing away some documents as I realised the garage had only given me a smoke test result and no MOT Certificate! OH thought they may not do them now they can be checked online. (we can't keep up with all the changes in everything these days! :-S) Anyway when I checked online, they should have given me a copy, but I was able to print off a free duplicate.
AnnG that is good you have your new glasses now and as you say any adjustment can be done once the swelling has completely gone. My eye test is due next month but I'm not sure about going just yet. I have to have an annual test now because of cataracts. Not long till your stitches go on Friday. :-) I hope your OH's chat with the doctor is helpful. I forgot to say that the teacher hasn't mentioned the rule of thirds.....yet!
I need to get on with my watercolour painting from yesterday's class now. I quite enjoyed it, even if my paint didn't do what it was supposed to! I've ordered some cheaper paper today as it looks like we will use a lot with all the practising and she said it would be fine while we are at this beginner stage.
It sounds like you are busy Gill. Are you having to teach Sandra how to look after herself now? Will she share accommodation with others do you know? I do hope she has thought this all through as it could be quite lonely if she is in a flat on her own.

Ann no we hav'nt had a chicken crown in gravy but we have had the chicken dinner for two and that was nice. I bought another one tis week. Its a small chicken crown, two small sausages and four stuffing balls. Oh said it was'nt very tastey so this time I shall put some mixed herbs on it and salt and pepper and put some bacon round the sausages. Its the kind of thing older people could have for a Christmas dinner. By older I mean people who are not as well off as some or students.

Pretty ring Mel, as Ann says very neat and understated. Nice.
Vera you will eventually get the garden done and if you don’t you will have to be like us and decide you are leaving it a bit untidy for the wild life :-D
Ann I think the doctor doesn’t have anything else to offer. Physio tomorrow and Cat scan next week, otherwise playing awaiting game.

Thanks for your comments on the ring.
Its been tpping it down again here and the deer have been in the garden most of the day. When the shopping arrived the driver commented on there being a deer in the garden. He had the biggest smile on his face.
I asked him where our shopping comes from and he told me Bideford so I don't know why they did'nt know anything about it when I rang last week. The lady I spoke to said she had been in touch with Bideford and they did'nt know anything about it.

Evening all,
Lovely dry morning here so out we went and got a few more jobs done ,i hung some towels and t towels out but by lunch time the sky went over so black and by the time i got out to bring the washing in it was tipping it down ,then out came the sun .
I also nipped out to post a letter this morning and we had another lovely crab from the fish stall ,i also got some fruit from the market and was going to get a cauliflower but when i saw the price i left it ,they were £1.90 which i thought was a bit pricey .
Mel i love your ring with the nice autumn colours ,so pretty . Glad the asda man found you ok this week ,it sounds as if it made his day seeing the deer in the garden . Seems odd that nobody knew about last weeks shopping when you rang .
Ann your tomatoes have done well ,we still have runners growing well ,i keep going out picking a good handful which is enough for the two of us for a meal with other veg ,usually by now we have pulled them up . Oh that much have panicked you when you realised you didn't have the MOT paper Collin should be renewing his driving licence but hasn't had a letter come so i went on line and it looks like there is an extension to the renewing ,i just hope i read it right .
