I sympathise Vera as it is very annoying when they do things like that and think that things can be dug up any time of the year to suit them getting on with something. I laid out our garden here and OH doesn't get too involved except with some labour with heavy things and weeding and he will help plant things now I find it more difficult to do. I was a fan of the hoe for weeding and left the bits to rot down and feed the plants, but Mr Tidyfreak likes weeding (not often enough!) but can't bear leaving a bit of weed to rot so they get scooped up!! He also tidies my garden tools away before I have finished with them. The new garden bin is his new love I think and it was collection day today and he has been telling me this for days now. I only have to mention that I might trim or deadhead something and I get constantly reminded it is 'bin' week as if I must rush out and fill it to the brim!! :-S I hope the novelty wears off soon! lol. You hang on to your hanging baskets while you can AnnG!

Mel you have some lovely photos of your garden. The roses and delphiniums are gorgeous and your OH has made a cracking job of the lawns and hedge. Nice ones of Phil and your pretty bantams too. It all looks very smart.

I have what should be a nice purple desert goosegog, but in 4-5 years it has small goosegogs that then fall off instead of growing! I had a green one at my old house that would have loads on. I'm doing something wrong!

Sorry Mel, yes I saw your photos and emailed you about them. Lovely photos, liked the one of your bungalow.
Annx never heard of purple gooseberries. Wonder if they need different treatment.

when we did all the veg and fruit we had red goosegogs and if you left them they would go really dark.

Good morning

Cold and very wet here. I think it’s been raining most of the night. It’s a stay in and do h/w sort of day and I’m thinking of starting to give our lounge a spring clean. Perhaps I can get OH to help as he won’t be outside digging up more of my flowers today ;-)

Edit. I forgot to say thanks for the lovely photos Mel. You could rent your lawn out as a bowling green. Your OH does keep it looking good.

Rain stopped play here it's coming down quite heavy now ,I did manage to get some shopping in before it got to heavy ,I'm going to crochet the girls some hair scrunchies and needed some hairbands so I went early so there was no one about ,think I was the only one in the shop .

Lovely photo's of your garden Mel ,OH keeps the lawn looking nice with the stripes.

Just stopped for a cuppa.. it’s still pouring here. I haven’t been out but the end of our road will definitely be flooded now.

We’ve got 2 sets of wall and floor units in our lounge so we’ve started getting everything out, cleaning them and the contents and putting everything back. Why have I got 69 wine glasses, for goodness sake :-S.? That’s without the 19 sherry glasses and countless beer and lager, whisky and brandy glasses, and why have we got 4 opened bottles of whisky and 3 of brandy? Anyone looking in our cupboard would think we’re a right pair of old soaks :-)

Oh no, OH has discovered a load of old cassette tapes and has put a particularly dreary bit of Tchaikovsky on, just when I need something jolly and bouncy to keep me working.

Right, tea break’s over, now to tackle the floor units.

Good afternoon all, Sorry I didn't get back yesterday, I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

Not feeling great today, have had a lot of pain in my chest. It kept waking me up in the night so I didn't get a lot of sleep. I am now just sitting in my armchair reading my book. That isn't as easy as it might . The print is so small, I am having a job with it. It's called 1915, and is about the 1st WW in the trenches. The author has researched so many people who were involved, that it is quite gripping, and not something you want to put down.

Our old neighbour "JEAN" has passed away during the night. Thee ha ect we will hear what caused her to passed away, later in the day. No fun in getting old. !!!!

Vera, we have two glass cabinets full of every type of glass you could ever want. I know we had a lot for wedding presents 42 years ago. Plus there are beer glass's and tumblers in the kitchen cupboard.

Ros is in the garden. She has trays of "COSMOS" that she wants to get in the beds. They have been in the greenhouse, and have grown around two foot high, and grown so bushy. I know she has given lots away to friends and neighbours, but there are still LOADS.

The undertakers have just takenJean away. I was talking with Ros in ihe front garden, as they brought the body out. So we stood and lowered our heads, as they put her in hearse.

No cooking for me tonight either Mel, It's the F & C MANS night, tonight, Ros will have a few of my chips, with Ham and Eggs. and I will have a piece of COD.

Really cloudy now, so I expect we will get your rain Mandy/Vera. They do forecast it for today, and tomorrow. FLAMING JUNE !!!!

Off for a coffee and a sarnie, so will catch up with you all later. STAY SAFE. xxxx

It started raining here about 12.45pm and has'nt stopped since amd its a good steady shower so good for the garden. Stopped play for oh so after lunch he told me to look out for a delivery van and he is now watching the back of his eyelids.

I wonder if T got his game of golf???? or if its raining there too. :-|

This morning I hoovered up all the spiders I could find in the hall and little loo. Hoovered the hall and all around the outside of the front door. As we don't use the front door much I had'nt realised just how dirty it was and the porch so this afternoon I am going to wash all the door and step down and see if I can get the moss off the slabbed floor.

Sorry you are not feel well again today Frank and that you did'nt have a good night. Hope your F & C are as good as ours usually are, enjoy.

Forgot to post this agan and now its raining cats and dogs.

:-(

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 10 Jun 2020 18:04

Thats nice he managed to get a round in without any rain then AnnG. I bet he came in with a smile on his face. :-D :-D

Been pouring here but I think it may have stopped now for a while.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 10 Jun 2020 18:42

I can’t believe it’s still raining here. I don’t think it has stopped at all since the middle of last night.

We sorted out the wall units and one of our floor units but didn’t start the other floor one as it contains a lot of photo albums and a lot of loose photos too. I know we’ll keep stopping to look at them so I’m setting aside a whole day for that job.

I’ve just been cooking up loads of mince as in one of the deliveries I had a giant pack. OH didn’t realise I divide it into portions and put the whole pack in the freezer so we have shepherd’s pie tonight, a couple of individual ones for the freezer and a couple of packs of cooked mince.

Dinner’s just about ready so I’ll get dished up now.

Just loved the little brown wood mice Ann. The're so sweet.

Rain has just eased off a bit so I am going to go and shut the girls in.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 10 Jun 2020 21:05

Oh Ann the dear little mice that was a lovely close up of them .
Well it's a change of plan with scrunchies for the girls ,I'm now going to crochet a bag that is in this week's WW magazine, there is three sizes and I'm doing the smaller one in a rainbow wool ,if there's wool over I'll do them a scrunchie.

It's been raining here most of the day so it's been inside jobs today ,I made a nice sponge cake with a Biscoff filling so we had a piece of that for pud after our chicken chow mein.

That's sad you have lost one of your neighbours Frank ,had she been poorly?
Hope you can get a better nights sleep tonight ,how is that pain in the chest now.
Do you think one of those big magnifing glasses would help your eyes when you need to read your book .

Better post this as I'm on my tablet and the battery is low .

Annx

Annx Report 10 Jun 2020 21:50

The crochet bag sounds nice in a rainbow wool Mandy and a matching scrunchie would be good if there is enough wool. I have just printed off a pattern for a knitted necklace for using up scraps of wool. It is just strips that are joined and to make circles that curl up like ropes in different colours that you intertwine. But my clearout has unearthed Ted's jumper pattern so I'd better finish that first.

Good morning

I hope it’s brighter where you are. Very grey and wet here. It’s not raining at the moment but has been heavy again during the night. Everywhere is soaked. I don’t reckon we’ll need to water the garden for the next six months :-D

It wasn’t a good night. Although I was quite warm I just kept shivering so I wonder if I’ve got a cold coming, though I can’t think where I could have picked a cold up as I haven’t been out anywhere.

I’m not sure what I’m doing today. I ought to carry on cleaning the lounge but I’m not really in the mood. Enjoy your day whatever you’re doing.
